And speaking of lucky winner, Derek, you might find a couple out there this week, especially if you started one. CJ Str.
A
Yeah, dude, I mean look, CJ Strouds who we're going to kick this off and just for full clarity and transparency for everybody, we usually try to go through quarterbacks, running backs, wide receiver. The running back position is God awful. It is a mess. It's a dumpster fire this week. So I want people to understand, I think there are so many matchups that we're going to get to from the wide receiver position. This is a wide receiver in your flex spot type of week where it is play the guys you got that are going to get volume at running back. And we're probably, we're exploiting matchups this week in the primer for wide receivers to put people over the top. But CJ Stroud, let's lead the conversation here, man. Like Seattle's past defense, look, they haven't been as good as everybody wants them to be this year. Like they've given up the six most passing yards per game, 10th most passing touchdowns in their middle road and CPOE. So Stroud, I know it's not been great, I know it hasn't been. But he flashed upside down against the Ravens. I'm not telling you that the Seattle pass defense is as bad as Baltimore's, but the other side is they haven't been good. And what is going to force CJ Stroud to throw the ball this week too, Seth, is when you face these teams that can make you one dimensional. Seattle's run defense is elite. So Houston, if they want to move the ball and have success on offense, they're going to have to do it with CJ Stroud and the passing game this week. So I think it's going to lead to a big day for C.J. stroud.
C
Hey, look man, if you just look at the last two matchups for the Seattle Seahawks, they have been great for quarterbacks, right? Number three in fantasy points allowed to the position as of late. Baker Mayfield, obviously one of those, going for over 379 passing yards, two passing touchdowns. But even Trevor Lawrence last last week, right? Like had a lot of attempts, didn't look awesome at 258 and 2. You'll take that.
A
BTJ long touchdown did get called back. They got wiped off the Board for holding penalty. So point that didn't make the box score, but it did happen in real life.
C
And one of the better games Trevor Lawrence has had all year too. So you'll certainly take that. And we would take that from CJ Stroud. You also like one of his counterparts there, a potential receiver who's been a little bit back and forth this season. Missed a couple games due to injury, but you're saying he's still the same old stuff. CK.
A
Yeah, dude, Christian Kirk in ECR is wide receiver 43. He is worth flexing this week. And again, this comes down to the matchups. I know Kirk has not balled out and had a monster game to this point. I, I get that, like he's only averaging 36.3 receiving yards per game. That's not really going to tickle anybody's fancy. But the matchup this week should push you in that direction. If Shroud's going to have a good game, I think Kirk is coming along for the ride. And Seattle has given up the 9th most PPR points per target and receiving yards per game to opposing slot wide receivers. So Christian Kirk, come on now, baby, let's go. We can get wide receiver three flex production. Maybe he gets in the end zone this week and if he, dude, if he scores this week, he's probably going to end up with a wide receiver two finish this week.
C
I think it was very telling when Christian Kirk came back and you and I and I think everyone else thought maybe if he was gone for a couple weeks to start the season, Noel could push him out of this role. Not the case at all. Full time starter comes back. He's already has a target per route run rate of 22.5%. That's the 34th best among wide receivers. Also you look at the designed targets per game, he is 20th among receivers as well with two per game. So they want to get the ball in his hands. I don't know if there's long term success for Christian Kirk this season. I don't know if he can stay healthy. But this week he might, he might be a pretty good, a pretty good play there in that, in that opening window there. So Derek, let's go ahead and go to another receiver that you also like who is coming back off injury for the first time this season though.
A
Yeah, dude. So Jalen Coker did not play last week. He practiced in full. The team held him out. He is at wide receiver 16 ECR this week. That's blasphemous, man. I think he steps Back in and he is immediately a flex play. And you look at what he did last year, dude, like six games when he played at least 68% of the snaps with Bryce Young under center. And a lot of caveats, basically. This is all to say when Coker was a full time player and Bryce Young was his quarterback. Jalen Coker had an 18.3% target share. He averaged almost 56 receiving yards per game. He had a 24 first read share. And this week Sauce Gardner is probably going to shadow Ted Roman. So that's going to push more targets to Jalen Coker. And it's a great matchup just in general because the jets secondary cannot stop slot wide receivers. They're giving up the 8th most PPR points per target to the position. So Jalen Coker, Wide Receiver 3 Production Flex Option this week, people could be like, oh, I don't know, man, like, should I play Jalen Coker or Jordan Whittington? Should I play Jalen Coker or K Sean Booty or Jalen Coker or Travis Hunter or Tez John? Dude, I'm playing Jalen Coker over all of these guys. Ellic, Ao Manor, all these guys this week. I love Jimmy Coker this week. I think he's gonna have a really strong game.
C
Well, you don't have to go that far back in these New York Jet game logs to see a slot wide receiver pop off. In fact, our guy, Ryan flournoy, a Division 2 prospect who kind of came.
A
Seemingly out of nowhere, that's one of his boys. Is it really?
C
Okay. All right. Yeah. So someone who none of us really knew much about just a few weeks ago and you and I have divvied through most of these rookies, right? And over the last two years and he comes out six for 114, nine targets for Flournoy. So, you know, maybe a potential big game here for a seemingly under the radar guy out of Holy Cross in Jalen Coker. Who else do you like at the wide receiver position this week, Derek?
A
Dude, I'm going down the well and I know that. So I'm going to give a caveat. I know the matchup on paper versus these corners is not great, but if you look at the coverage matchup, Alec Pierce could be in for a big day this week. I know the Chargers perimeter corners have played really, really good. There's a lot to dive through here. But if you look at the matchup for Alec Pierce, I think one Josh Downs is probably out this week. Some more targets are going to get pushed. Alec Pierce, he's going to become an elevated part of the offense now. Is Jonathan Taylor probably just going to steamroll that, that run defense? Absolutely. Sure. But somebody else is going to come along for the ride through the air, and I think it could be Alec Pierce. Dude, like if you look at The Chargers, in four of six games this year, they have utilized single high on 51 to 59% of the defensive snaps. This matters because single high versus that coverage structure. Alec Pierce has been the go to for The Indianapolis Colts versus Single High. Seth. Alec Pierce has a 26.9% target share. He has almost 48 of their air yards, 3.69 yards per route run, and almost a 28 first read share. So you want to talk about flex? Flex plays out of the freaking blue. I'm pulling these guys in from the ether that could offer some strong production for, for people this week and put them over the top where it's like, dude, we are struggling. I got everybody's hurt. I don't have anybody to play. Alec Pierce is probably out there on almost every single waiver wire out there. Pick him up. He's worth a flex this week.
C
Do you think we see his adot come down a little bit with no Josh Downs potentially out there? He's currently third in the NFL and ADOT 19.2 yards per target. So you think that maybe comes back down, we see a little bit closer to the line of scrimmage action for Alex Pierce.
A
Yeah, yeah, it could, man. And, and where that comes into now, some of the design targets probably go the way of Tyler Warren. Maybe you see some more JT using the passing game this week. But I think Alec Pierce, he could get some more design looks. Could get a little bit more of like the intermediary stuff, not just the, you know, the, the deep shots and stuff like that, but versus this coverage structure, he could have a huge game.
C
And only takes one deep shot. Right? It only takes one deep shot to.
A
To pay 150 yards of the house and a touchdown. That's 11 points, like 12 points. So like, see, he's making your day. Like if that happens, that's all you need in the flex.
C
Let's talk about another wide receiver. A little bit under the radar. Popped up early in the season. Had a lot of steam as a potential waiver wire. Snagging a difference maker. I don't know if he's been that quite yet. But you think he could be here in week number seven?
A
I think he can be and that's Troy Franklin, I know that it hasn't been pretty for him for a lot of the season. He is still for everybody like looks at his snapshare and stuff. Dude, he's out there when they're passing and that's all that matters. Like he has a 71% route share. So like don't look at the snap shares. Look how often this guy's on the field when they are throwing the ball. And that's definitely true for Troy Franklin. Now the thing that I want to highlight with Franklin here is he has an 18% first read share. Now th this week the Giants have been utilizing more too high versus too high. Franklin's first read share increases to 20%. This secondary, you can get at them man. Like the Giants, their secondary, they're allowing the 10th most fantasy points per game, 11th most receiving yards, two perimeter wide receivers. I know you can run against this defense. Cortland Sutton's probably going to have a good day. If Bo Nicks has, I'll say not a bounce back game but he's been able to exploit softer matchups this year and tougher matchups. He just disappears and he's not played well at all. This is a little bit more on the softer side of matchups for Bo Nick. So I think it could be a good week for Troy Franklin considering the coverage structure, considering the secondary that he's going to go up against.
C
Bo Nix is one of those quarterbacks, man. Like it's really pretty black and white, right? Like he struggles against good teams and is pretty freaking good against bad teams, right?
A
Dude speaking. Yeah, and speaking of prospect eval, I was out on him as a prospect. I didn't like him coming in here. He made me eat all of those words in his rookie season. But this year it's been a lot of the issues and worries that I had about Bo Nick's transitioning to the NFL. A lot of that stuff is cropped back up in his game. I hope he irons it out but it, I'm not saying it's feel, it feels validating but it definitely makes me feel like I am not insane for having some of the questions that I had about Nicks as a prospect considering what he's done this year on the field.
C
I think what's interesting about Troy Franklin too, not just this matchup but this entire year. Derek is, I think a lot of us. I know Pat Fitz Morris was really high on Marvin Mims coming into the season because he was getting. I wasn't some of the deep shots but he Was also getting a lot of that design touch.
A
Part time player I was never in on Marvin Mins.
C
Well now that's kind of almost what Troy Franklin is getting in a way because he's getting right now he's leading the NFL in design targets per game, but also he's getting valuable red zone work. He has six red zone targets. It's the ninth most in the NFL right now. So when the Broncos getting close, yes, they're looking for Cortland Sutton, they're looking for their tight ends, but they're actually looking for Troy Franklin as well, who's kind of shifty in the back that.
A
End zone to your point too, is he due for touchdown regression? Like I don't think he scored a touchdown in the last few weeks. Right? Like I'm not crazy in saying that, right?
C
No, no, I, I think it's been a bit of a dry spell honestly for him. Overall, I don't know if he's finished Inside the top 36 in a minute as well. So.
A
Yeah, he hasn't scored a touchdown since week two. And that's despite getting three reds on targets in his last four games. So yeah. However you want to play this secondary matchup coverage matchup touchdown regression is due to hit for Troy Franklin. All the parts and pieces this all comes back to. He's probably due for a big game this week.
C
Yeah, maybe a little anytime TD action on little TF as well. And before we get to our final pick at the tight end position, I wanted to remind you all that you can dominate your fantasy football league with Fancy Pros Premium now available for free for six months when you deposit and place your first wager at any of our partner sportsbooks. This is the easiest way to get full access to our top fancy tools all season long. Just go to fancypros.com premium to get yourself started. And Derek, you're going back to the well once again a tight end prospect who kind of, you know, crap up on us late in the process. I don't think we are in love with him from a prospect standpoint, but the fit has been great. And it might be even better this week with no top competition out there for targets.
A
Yeah, dude. Look, I, I know people were burned by it last week. The matchup was horrible. Justin Fields played terribly. I. I understand all of that. But you cannot be a prisoner of the moment and recency bias. And two monster games from Mason Taylor and then the dud. You get duds from every single player. It doesn't matter whether you're Studs or. Or otherwise that happens. We're going right back to the well for Mason Taylor, dude. And like, the fact that he's ranked as tight end 15 and ECR right now I think is kind of crazy to me, considering no Garrett Wilson. You look at the Carolina Panthers. We talked about this on Twitch. This Carolina Panthers run defense is massively improved. So the jets are not going to be able to just run over them this week. He's going to operate. Mason Taylor is going to operate as the wide receiver one for the jets this week. And considering the matchup, dude, like, since week four, he has gotten a 22.2% target share. He's averaging almost 45 receiving yards. He has a 22.4% first read share. That's with Garrett Wilson in the huddle. Garrett Wilson's out this week. What the heck do y' all think Mason Taylor's gonna do? He's gonna lead this freaking team in targets against a defense that has given up the most receiving yards and the second most schedule adjusted fantasy points per game to tight ends. Mason Taylor is a tight end one this week. He is.
C
Well, and also another guy who might find the end zone too. Carolina has given up a receiving touchdown to a tight end in four out of five games this season. Three straight, Derek. And like, they've played good tight ends. Like they have played Trey McBride that was the one tight end not to find the end zone on them. But like it's been like Darren Waller, Fergie Austin, Hooper, Hunter Henry's like not world beaters. And they've all had success. So why not your guy Mason Taylor here this week?
A
Why not, dude? I mean, Mason Taylor, it's not just that I think he's gonna be a tight end one this week. If you're thumbing through like Mason Taylor versus like Nick Chubb and Woody Marks and all these other questionable running backs. Isaiah, Isaiah, Pacheco, I'll throw that name out there too. Mason Taylor is flexifiable, dude. Like, I'm playing him over a lot of these other options because again, he is going to be the jets wide receiver one this week. He's going to lead them in targets. The matchup is glorious. So don't be like stung by what happened last week. Look at the two previous weeks. Understand his role in this offense and then Mason Taylor's going to get a lot of targets.
C
Love that. I love that, Derek. And thank you so much for bringing all the information as always from the Primer right here to the Fancy Pros YouTube channel. That is gonna do it for us on this episode of the Fancy Pros Fancy Football podcast. Please comment down below your favorite week seven sleeper starts. We want to hear from you. Also, tell us any more of your celebrity look alikes. We want to hear those as well. Derek, I think you kind of remind me of the guy from Hot Tub Time Machine Lou. Like, I think if you trimmed up the beard a little bit, you could get a little loogal action going on.
A
Dude, I usually get action Bron, which I, you know, I had to look up even who that was. Action Bronson. I got. I've got a lot of different. The bad thing is, though, none of those comparisons have been good. It's not like anybody's out here being like, oh, bro, you look like Brad Pitt or something. Like, I'm like, okay. I mean, I guess, you know, whatever.
C
I mean, I'll.
A
I'll take whatever I can get these days, Seth. I'll take whatever I can get.

Week 7 is shaping up as a wide receiver and tight end week due to tough running back options—all six picks are high-upside, fairly available players set up by matchup and team context to smash. Taylor at TE and Coker/Pierce at WR are particularly pressed as high-floor, sneaky-ceiling flexes. "Play your best WRs in the flex, exploit the soft spots in team defenses, and don't be afraid of going off-book for a big win," as the tone of the Primer says.
