Just listen. We don't care where you hear it. What's going on, everybody? Welcome into a special edition of the Tailgate podcast. Today was one of those days where the NFL completely flipped upside down. Instead of waiting around, we hit record and went live immediately on YouTube and on Twitch. So what you're about to hear is a combination of two breaking news reactions from earlier today from myself, Andrew Erickson and Joe PI Sepia. First, our instant thoughts on Myles Garrett heading to the Rams, what that means for the Rams defense, the NFC landscape and the the fantasy fallout. Then we're going to shift into gears. One of the biggest offensive moves of the off season with A.J. brown finally being traded to the Patriots, breaking down the ripple effects for the New England Philadelphia fantasy and everything in between. These were recorded live in real time as the news was breaking. So buckle up, because this offseason just hit another level. Let's get into it.
A
Park it right here, everybody. It's time for the Tailgate. It's me, Joey P, Joe P. Zeppia, with my best friend, Andrew Erickson, Mr. Big Pot Energy. Somehow Derrick Brown pick the worst week to go on vacation. We're talking about a massive deal that just went down. We are here live on the Tailgate, our newest channel over from the Fantasy Pros family of channels. So if you haven't checked that out yet, go. It's fun. It's football. It's just us breaking everything down, just talking ball, hanging out, having a good time. And of course, we're on our Fantasy Pros channel too, live at the same time right now because there's obviously some implications in IDP leagues and implications just in wagering. Some just implications. Man, this was a massive move. You don't see big stars like this always getting moved at this stage in their career. And Andrew, we kind of talked about this stuff on the Tailgate just last week. We were talking about the Browns and Miles Garrett and a new regime. And, you know, maybe it's not an insane theory to think the new regime will come in. You can't wipe the slate clean of Deshaun Watson, but you can take some money off the books with Miles Garrett. And it looks like they did that and he's going to the Rams. So this is a massive deal here. Adam Schefter reported it earlier. Andrew Erickson, what was the first thing that hit you here when you saw Miles Garrett going to the Rams, who were already at the top of the board right now in terms of super
B
bowl favorites, the f them picks. Rams are back. That's the way that I. That was my first initial reaction to it was everybody that complained about the Ty Simpson pick and they're not trying to win now. What are they doing? Well, how do we feel now about it? Well, they just traded a future first round pick to get arguably the best defensive player. A defensive player last year. The best player and arguably of what, the past 20 years. How good has Miles Garrett been as a reigning defensive player of the year?
A
Ray Lewis is in there.
B
I mean, future hall of Fame, future hall of Fame edge rusher that now gets thrown to a Super bowl contender or the super bowl favorite. And now I'd be super surprised or very interested to see what the odds have already shifted. I'm sure that money's just pouring in right now on the Rams to win the super bowl after Miles Garrett again pending the physical because can never be too certain with the Matt Crosby fiasco that we saw play out. So, yeah, I think that this move is. Is nuts. The fact that the Rams trade away Jared Verse, the Browns want to get younger. The Rams want to win right now. And who better to help them do that than Miles Garrett, the reigning sack leader, the guy who broke the sack record last year. So insane.
A
Yeah, not bad. So now you have the guy that broke the sack record playing on the opposite end of the ball on the same team with the reigning MVP in the league. That is scary stuff. It's scary stuff for the rest of the league. And look, this is a great division too, Andrew. We talk about a lot of time, you know how tough this division is going to be. Poor Arizona Cardinals stuck at the bottom of it. You got the team that just won the super bowl, you got a team that's got the MVP on it, and you got the 49ers still lurking around in there. So a very competitive division. So now Miles Garrett joins this defense. It was also pretty good that that really made strides last Year, especially in the second half of the year. The Rams defense really came on strong there. Jared Verse, a big reason why. We'll talk about that part of the trade in just a second though. So just to kind of break it down in case you're, you know, just still coming around to this news, you just woke up somewhere. Miles Garrett goes to the Rams here. The compensation is Jared Verse, a 2027 first round pick and then other draft compensation which is being negotiated now. Hopefully all this does go through and hopefully all happen. And as Andrew alluded to earlier, everybody passes all the physicals, but you are losing Jared Verse in this defense, replacing him with Miles Garrett. Yes, Miles Garrett, hall of Famer. Yes, Jared Verse, a very exciting young player at the same time. But the stability that this gives you now and the all in feel of this, where the Rams have just really pushed their chips here. I don't know what Vegas's reaction is going to be to this move here for the Rams, but I have to imagine it's going to be very aggressive because of the big name star power that Miles Garrett's going to bring here to that defense. All the other quarterbacks in the MCU should be terrified right now because now Miles Garrett's coming to town. This is, this is really stunning stuff here. So, Andrew, let's talk about the impact he's going to have on this defense too. Not just up front, but also when you can put that kind of pressure on the quarterback, it also takes a lot of pressure off the secondary as well.
B
Well, I think too, the fact that Miles Garrett's actually going to play for a team that could have a lead in a game where they're not trailing. I mean, he's never played for a contender in any way, shape or form. A team that never even had a chance of winning the division, winning the conference or going to the Super Bowl. I mean, Miles Garrett, we're going to see him in the postseason this year. That's awesome. Like, that is going to be so fun. So when it comes down to is he going to be at his best when it matters the most, when we have to get a sack on this third and long, you need to get to the opposing quarterback. That's Myles Garrett. So I think him with the defensive line already, I think still pretty good again, obviously losing Jared versus a big loss, but you're getting Garrett. They have interior bodies there. Byron Young, the guy they drafted a couple years ago as well, his name is escaping me. But it's not like the Rams haven't invested in their defensive line. That has been their strength. Their weakness last year was the secondary. What do they do this off season? They took all the Chiefs cornerbacks, put them onto their roster. So now you're looking at turning a weakness into a strength. Both on the edge, into the secondary. Matthew Stafford, if his back holds up, he doesn't need to necessarily win the MVP again because I think this defense is going to be a lot better than it was last season.
A
All right, breaking the contain here. Hanging out with us. Everybody just jumping in too. I love this. I love it is June 1st and people are just crazy. Jumping into live action right now. We've got going on on the FP and the tailgate right now. Yes, I did confirm this too. It went from plus 800 on the Rams to plus 550 after the deal.
B
So that was not surprising. We saw similar action when Parsons got traded to the packers last year.
A
Correct. Yeah. And. And you know what? This is kind of that reminiscent. I feel like all of a sudden like there's a tectonic plate shifting here in the NFL where like the Rams were already at the top of everybody's list. And if the Rams do win now and they've gone all in, then you ask yourself the question, do McVeigh and Stafford just walk away, both the two of them? Do they stick around for that other year that now Stafford throw on to the end of his contract to defend that title? So many questions there. And I want to talk about the other side of this deal too, because I think from the Brown's perspective, it's actually some pretty big positives here. Before we get to all that, don't forget, if you're watching us here on any channel on the tailgate, especially if you subscribe to the tailgate, go subscribe over there, drop your comments on this video and you could win. You're a young baller living in la, nightlife there, pretty girls in Los Angeles, the beach. Things are going great. You're driving your Range Rover, your Porsche, you're having a great day, and then all of a sudden you find out you get traded to Cleveland and now you're moving all your stuff to Ohio. Bit of a culture shock there. Kind of tough now with Todd Monkey coming in as the head coach here. We talked about this on Tailgate last week. That, that felt like there could be kind of a. A wiping of the slate. There were rumors that Miles Garrett wanted to get out money aside, restructure his deal. He just wants to go play in some playoff games like you alluded to and move on and get a chance to play in some relevant games before his career is done. Jared Verse is a great young player, not a good young player. He's a great young player. He can have a positive impact on this defense for years to come. And most importantly now, you're freeing up a bunch of cast space here for the future of a team that, dare I say, is starting to move in a better direction. We all like the Browns draft this year. We thought they did a pretty good job there. Starting to turn that page. You can't wipe the slate clean of desean Watson. That stank is on the Browns until the end of time, until that contract is over. But Miles Garrett was the one guy they can move on from. They did. So now, how does this open things up from a maneuverability standpoint of the Browns franchise going forward?
B
Well, they're probably going to sign Jared Verse to a long term deal. That's, that's, that's when we wanted the next moves that they make because he was entering a contract season. So the Rams looked at him and, okay, maybe we don't want to pay him what Miles Garrett is now making. So I think that makes a. Makes a lot of sense for both sides. Like, this is a trade. I think that is a win win for two franchises that are going in different directions. You alluded to it with Deshaun Watson that, look, it didn't matter how good Miles Garrett was because the Browns didn't have their quarterback figured out. So he again led the NFL broke that sack record last year. Where did the Browns pick in the draft? Inside the top 10. It didn't. It did not matter a bit when it came to the final wins and losses. So now they can finally get out of the desean Watson business, even though for some reason they keep entertaining. Like maybe we can go back to this guy. Like, I don't know. I just wipe your hands clean. Move on. You have so many Stallworth pieces set in place to drop a 2027 rookie quarterback of the future for next year. So just take the quarterback that's going to give you the most losses this year for Cleveland, get a high draft pick next year and be ready to rebuild and take on teams that where are the Steelers going to be next year? Who's their cornerback going to be? We don't really know. Ravens. Is this the last year Lamar Jackson plays for the Baltimore Ravens? Okay, obviously the Bengals with Joe Burrow, that's going to be the thing that's the toughest. But we've also heard rumors of does Joe Burrow want to be in Cincinnati long term? So it could be as early as 2027. They'll look up and be like, are the Browns going to win this division? Wouldn't be shocked.
A
It's not impossible. It's not impossible. Look, we've been talking about all the previews for all the teams on the tailgate channel. So if you haven't seen this channel and we know it's new, we just started it a few months ago. And again, this is the kind of stuff we're doing. We're just beating the ball back and forth about NFL with all the different takes. We're having a good time doing it. We're doing that preview series, too. Most of the AFC is already up on the channel right now. We have the AFC east we've been holding out on because we've been waiting for A.J. brown news to see how it's going to impact that. But we also started the NFC previews, too. So if you are dying to talk football and from looking at this chat right now, the couple hundred of you that are here already right now talking with us right now live. Thank you. Number one and number two, go check out tailgate because I know you're ferocious for NFL stuff and this is where we're talking it right now, in the tailgate. So go to YouTube right now when you're watching it. When you're done with this video, go to tailgate. NFL go. Check us out. Subscribe there. Ring the bell till it goes Ding. So you never miss a piece of content there. And to Andrew's point, the landscape does feel like this is kind of a fork in the road. You have Harbaugh leave this division here in the AFC north. You have a tenuous situation with the Bengals and Joe Burrow. If things go south again here, could there be just a. A period of time where Joe Burrow just says, I can't do it here. I got to go somewhere else? Lamar Jackson's health last year, obviously not great. And you know, the Steelers are, well, in kind of a weird place right now, to say the very least. So Andrew is 100. Right. There is just a lot of moving pieces in this division. And it feels like the Browns have kind of freed themselves up a little bit to be a little bit more malleable here in the next couple years to come here. And that's everything in the NFL, right? Because if you have some cap room and you make good decisions with young players like Jared Verse and lock him up or all of a sudden Erickson, it feels like the world could be their oyster if some of these little dominoes fall in the right position for them in the next year or two.
B
Yeah, I think that the Browns have made a lot of good moves over the last couple seasons. Just the one move that was not good was the most significant in the Deshaun Watson move. Right. So. And it just, it took so many years for them to finally get out from underneath that type of contract. And it just goes to show how important the quarterback position is. Miles Garrett, we've talked about it because it deserves as much praise. Broke the sack record last year and the team still picked inside the top 10. So I'm excited for both of these teams. I think this is awesome. Just going back to the Rams point man, this team was already at the top of our. And I think actually Debra made a good comment in the. In the chat where.
A
Don't encourage.
B
No, no, no. It was. No, I liked. I liked it because does Miles Garrett actually like how much better is he then Jared Verse? Who is more is younger. Like again, they're both play the same position. Is it like they're going to win three more games now because they have Miles Garrett said Jared Verse? I don't think so. But to your point, the betting odds are moving. Miles Garrett's definitely the bigger name than Jared Verse. So I thought that was just interesting.
A
I think Miles Garrett is a. Is a two game win player. I think he's that kind of an impact player on a game and I Think more importantly, it's the kind of player in the playoffs when you're in those high pressure situations, right? Look, Jared versus great, right? He is on his way to being elite. Miles Garrett's already there. The only downside of this is if Stafford gets hurt all of a sudden, now I got Ty Simpson, right? Now you. Now you pivot to Ty Simpson or whatever your plan is. And now you've once again mortgaged the future. If you're the Rams for a win now attitude, which is great, like you want to go in there and be competitive with the NFL, but at the same time, the risk is enormous of this trade because Jared Verse is a great young player that you could build around in the future in that transition away from Matthew Stafford in two years, potentially, we're saying, okay, well, we have some good defensive pieces. We have Jared Verse. We're going to remake the offense. Now if things don't go well this year for the Rams and injuries and age start to catch up with him all of a sudden. Now it's not just the offensive side you got to worry about, it's the defensive side, too. So this is a really fascinating move.

As you can see, somehow in the last 20 minutes, Andrew Erickson already got that jersey press right. You got the number 11. Show everybody here on the YouTube. Let's go, baby.
B
My A.J. brown wide receiver. One Patriots jersey. I just, you know, as soon as the news dropped, I hear my doorbell ring. There it is just sitting on my front porch, ready to go.
A
Now, if you turn around, does it really say AJ Brown on the back? Are we gonna get the phone?
B
I mean, I don't, I don't need to disclose that information. So all you can see is what I was. It was on camera. And it's 11, it's Patriots. And that's what he's gonna wear, probably because nobody right now is currently wearing 11 on the Patriots roster, which I don't think is a mistake.
A
I think Julian Edelman should be in the ring of fame there. But that's a conversation for the tailgate here. This is a live stream. This is a quick hit. So let's talk about A.J. brown on his way out, going back the other way to the Eagles. They're getting a 2028 first round pick. So everybody thought that how he was holding out for the 2027 first rounder. Because everybody wants 2027 picks. Just ask the Cleveland Browns and everybody else, right? That's the draft, right? We keep being told that's the draft, that's what's going to be, that's the one you want to have all the picks for. But they ended up getting pushed to 2028, which I thought was kind of interesting. A little surprising there, to be honest. They also got a 2027 fifth round pick there. So how he's always going to get something else because that's what Howie does. So let's set the stage here because Drake May is finally getting his alpha dog wide receiver, which he did not have last year. Stefan Diggs came in a lesser version of himself. It was pretty good for the first eight weeks of the season. Not so hot the last eight weeks of the season. You could tell the season kind of wore down on Stefan Diggs a little bit, as did his relationship with Cardi B. Both those things kind of wore him down a little bit. As with any man, it would. But now we have that full alpha dog wide receiver. The question is, what's the upside here in fantasy? And look, we gotta talk about some downside too, because the knee could be an issue here. So Erickson, I don't want to rain on your parade. I don't want to dampen your spirits here at all today. Let's walk through the positives first, all right? Because the positives we're looking at, if we can get over that 145, 150 target threshold, we're getting 1400 yard AJ Brown with 10 touchdowns. Probably if we stick around that 120 mark, it's looking more like 1100 seven or eight touchdowns. So which version do you think we get with A.J. brown as a Patriot in 2026?
B
I think we're going to get the higher range of outcomes for AJ Brown because I think what he did last year, when you look at some of the advanced metrics, yeah, it looked like he had fallen off a little bit, but I think that's just so based on the circumstances he was in in the Philadelphia Eagles offense where he was either frustrated or disinterested or just not as involved as he should have been. But when you look at after his first time he complained on Twitch or whatever it was, whatever stream he was on, he's like, they're not using the offense. That following six game stretch, 88 receiving yards per game, nearly three yards per route run, almost 19.6 full PPR points per game. So he's almost coming into 20 points per game in terms of fantasy wide receiver and full ppr. That is elite level production. And when I look at his fit in this Patriots offense, I think it's a perfect real life fit. This slides Romeo Dobbs into a much better number two red zone role attached to Drake, maybe. And putting A.J. brown in this position where what if Josh McDaniels decides this is my Devonte Adams, who I had with the Las Vegas Raiders, who was pushing 180 targets in that offense and even throwing it back. I remember a guy named Brandon Marshall who I think broke the record for most targets in a game that was called by Josh McDaniels. You look at me at 20 targets in one game, so I think that this is a screaming upside play for the New England Patriots for A.J. brown. I was redoing my wide receiver rankings for Fantasy on Friday when I was writing the article that AJ Brown would be eventually traded to the Patriots so I could be here at the tailgate and not stuck to my desk writing the AJ Brown article. It's already been read. It's already out. You can all read it. I know Joe won't read it, but that's okay. You guys out there, you guys will read it. I found it with, with.
A
It's an ongoing joke. Andrew takes it personally that I don't read his work. I need a break, Andrew. You know, it's all day. We do this, you know. You know, when I break, I'm watching reels, you know, in the bathroom. I'm not reading Andrew Erickson articles. I'm just like, I love you, everyone else should, but I need a break from you.
B
If you're not going to read the article, there's one thing I do want you to read. So this was an Instagram post by AJ Brown after he won the super bowl with the Eagles. And I thought it was really interesting because it doesn't really talk about how he feels like, oh, I need to win a championship, like that's what's going to satisfy my NFL career. He basically talked about how, hey, my thrill for this game comes when I dominate. And this is the exact quote. It's the hunt that does it for me. It's when the DB drops his head, surrenders because he can't F with me. You can't rank AJ Brown high enough because he's going to get pepper with targets. He's going to dominate defensive backs. Attach to Drake May. I think he's going to upgrade in terms of the quarterback play. Drake May was so great last year. The passing game was so efficient. That beautiful deep ball. Just imagine all the big plays we saw from Matt Collins, from Stefan Diggs at times from KON Booty. And now you're putting that type of situation opportunity with a player of A.J. brown's caliber. I think it's, it's so wheels up. I, I'm super excited. I think that he has a sky high ceiling and I think that 1400 yards, 12, 13, 14 touchdowns is more like in his range of outcomes.
A
Well, look, that's putting him in the first round conversation on the fantasy pro side of things. I mean, that's, that's right there. So that, that's, that's turn pick kind of stuff. If that's what you think A.J. brown's going to be. You know, you mentioned something that I wanted to hit on too, because it does feel like also Romeo Dobbs now, red zone wise, I think his stock goes up a little bit. Hunter Henry, potentially as well, because we have a guy like A.J. brown that you have to account for in that red zone area. It does loosen things up quite a bit. So I'd like it for Romeo Dobbs. I love it. For Drake May. I like it for A.J. brown, I think the motivation's there, you know, also to prove that not only still have it, but he's also not that old. I mean, you know, I mean, he's not like in his 30s here. So A.J. brown's still a player with a lot of football left. The question is about that knee. I want to talk to you about that. And I want to talk about the flip side here, where it leaves us with the Eagles before we get to all that, too. If you're watching us right now, whether it's on the fantasy pro side or on our new channel on Tailgate NFL, make sure you go to Tailgate NFL during this stream, after the stream, whatever you want to do, whatever makes it easier for you. Drop a comment. Win something cool. All right, let's talk about the knee of A.J. brown, because I know that's one thing that you have kind of been throwing in there. Every time we have this conversation a little two Patriot boys talking about, oh, wouldn't it be nice for Christmas if we got oh, Father, wouldn't it be wonderful, Father, if we could get AJ Brown for Christmas and then we got him. But you kept saying the coal in the stocking is how's the knee look? So, Erickson, what are your thoughts on the degenerative knee? Question mark. That kind of hovers over this move with A.J.
B
brown. Well, he's had this degenerative knee since I don't know how long since he was drafted into the NFL. He's had a thousand yards and six out of seven seasons. So, I mean, clearly it hasn't been Inhibiting him that much? Yeah, he's been banged up here and there. Missed a couple games. I know. Last year, too. People don't talk about this. He also had a hamstring injury. He entered the season, I believe, last year with a hamstring injury. That was kind of on and off during the summer. He did miss a couple games in the middle of the season, but when he came back after he voiced I want to get more targets, he had double digit targets, five of his last six games. And he went on a tear of a wide receiver 3 overall fantasy pace. So even when he wasn't the focal point of the Eagles offense, he stood up and said, get me the ball, like to. And they got him the ball and he was an absolute monster. And I just think that's never going to be a problem in New England. They went out and got him for a reason, to get him the rock. This is what he wants. He just wants to dominate. He doesn't care about winning. He's like, just give me the ball, baby. And I'm so here for it. Because I think that's exactly what the Patriots need offensively. And I know we've talked about the Patriots regressing and their win, loss total. I think that's still going to be.
A
I think we still agree on that. Yeah. I don't think it changes. I don't think it makes them the team over the Buffalo Bills. I wouldn't be taking it. I don't know if Vegas is going to move that line at all, but I wouldn't if I was them, I would leave the Bills right where they were because guess what? They got a wide receiver, too. And that was the big missing piece for them. So if we liked the Bills before, I mean, I think we still like the Bills after this move because I think we all figured this was a foregone conclusion. Now the. The flip side of this is the other perspective, which is the Eagles, which have been a. A team that's been acquiring wide receivers all offseason, which was the obvious flag up there running up the pole that we knew that this was eventually going. Where AJ Brown was going was tbd. We all thought it was the Patriots. It ended up being the Patriots. Okay, cool. To me, this is another Makai Lemon solidification moment where I know everybody's going to talk about Devonta Smith, but I want to bring up Makai Lemon because I think Smith's workload will increase. Of course it will to a certain degree, but I think Lemon is the guy you're Talking about return on investment fantasy, right where live streaming on FP today a little bit. That's the one that's the most intriguing to me because he's being drafted more as a wide receiver 3ish. And that value to me that return is fantastic. And they, they moved up to get him. I know the Howie Roseman track record of identifying good wide receivers in the draft has. This has been a little spotty here and there, but I think this time they got it right. I think Lemon really could. I don't want to put the term league winner out there because I know that's a little controversial at times, but I do believe that potential at least is there. What are your thoughts on what remains in the wide receiver room for the Eagles?
B
I still think that it's more about devontae Smith. I think that it's his time to shine as the Batman of this passing. And when you're playing next to A.J. brown, it's really hard to be Batman. It's Batman and Robin for the most part. And not to say, I mean Smith has been really, really good, been really efficient. And even last year when the offense was kind of going away from AJ Brown, devontae Smith stepped up and to his credit, every single time there was an opportunity throughout his career when A.J. brown has missed games or Dallas Goddard has missed games, devonte Smith has proven wide receiver one level production in those contests, especially in some of these big playoff games. Like he, he is cooked. Look at his game logs against the Chiefs. Dante Smith owns Kansas City. Like in that defense, like he's had some monster performances. So I don't really have any reservations about oh, can Smith be the wide receiver one for the Zaggles team? Like I feel pretty confident that he is going to step into this role really well. I think that A.J. brown, Devonte Smith, they could both be fantasy wide receiver ones after kind of not really seeing that play out when they were teammates together where it seemed like Smith would always need an injury to at least get to that level of production. To the Lemon point though, his price is what's enticing the most to me because you don't necessarily need to get the guaranteed production from day one. I don't think it's going to happen from day one because this is a new install offense. Jalen Hurts has another new offensive coordinator. How are things going to gel with the oh no, can he throw over the ball over the middle of the field? Like what's going to happen? Like again we're being faces here, but I Do think eventually they'll get things going. And I think that Lemon is going to be a strong ROI rookie wide receiver, especially just based on the talent profile.
A
I certainly do. And I. I think of the rookie trio that everyone's looking at between Tyson and Tate and Lemon, I think the circumstances right now are in a very clear path. For me at least Lemon should be the first one off the board of those three, for me in redraft. That's. That's just my take on it. I'd love to hear everybody else's. Drop your comments below. Except one person. I don't want to hear any more comments from this guy, Derek Brown. He's supposed to be on vacation.
B
He's on vacation.
A
All right. You're not supposed to be here today. What are you even doing here? You know? Like, do I appreciate Smitty? Yes, of course I do. But I want to give some love to the Lemon. All right. The lemon is refreshing. And yeah, the whole point is that Derrick Brown, when you go on vacation, you should stay on vacation. All right. All jokes.
B
Get off my lawn.
A
Yeah. So obviously, you know, a busy day of trades, a busy day moving around here. From that perspective, two Patriots giving up on their first round pick. Now the 2027 draft, that's the one that was so important here that everybody keeps hyping up there because of the quarterbacks and all the other pieces that will be falling out there from the college ranks into the NFL. I am a little surprised that it was not a 2027 first. Were you surprised at all by that?
B
Yeah, I'm still trying to wrap my mind because I remember reading a report that maybe months ago that it was a 2028 first round pick that was going to be dealt. And I agree with you that the 2027 picks are the ones that are being heavily sought after. And why wouldn't the Eagles want that instead? So I think that we could probably find out more answers about why it was a 2020 pick eight pick and not a 2027 pick.
A
Well, my guess is the Patriots just stood fast on it, you know, and they're like, no, we're just. No, 2027 is the year where nobody wants to give up picks except the Rams, because the Rams just don't care.
B
They don't. But the thing with the Rams is they don't need that pick because they already have a quarterback of the Future. Like, the 27 picks are good because of a quarterback, but. No, but that's what I mean, though.
A
Like, it's more than that it's a very good draft too. You got some really dominant wide receivers coming out. Look, but it's, it's a better overall class. But more to the point too, that Rams pick is basically a second round pick, right? It's going to be the last two or three, theoretically. Like everything breaks right for them anyway. And the Patriots, that 20, 27 first round, if we're predicting what we do, which is regression, possibly for that team that overperformed last year, they have a tougher schedule this year, maybe a little different story. That pick could be in the 20s
B
potentially, but still not, I guess for me it's like we, or at least I believe that the strength of a draft class is. Goes to the quarterbacks. Like those are the classes that are remembered the most. It was like how strong was the quarterbacks? And I think if you're picking a 25 with your 2020, like there's, there's not going to be quarterbacks there at 25.
A
All right, let's get to some of the questions here. Philip wants to know how does this affect the NFC east lineup after this trade? I mean, who's your favorite right now for the NFC East?
B
I. I don't think the Eagles are better with Makai Lemon than AJ Brown, personally.
A
No, I don't. I don't think that that's true either. I think they could be as good as they were last year, but I wouldn't say that they're better.
B
I think that's a really good way to. I mean, on paper. I mean, Dallas looks stacked, but this is what happens every single year, so.
A
Well, they did address a little bit of the defense, but that thing is the offense works. It's just. Can you just. All the Dallas Cowboys have to do is finish in the middle of the pack defensively. That's it. Middle of the pack gets them to the top of this division, in my opinion.
B
And I am all showers. Want to get to the Giants about the NSC East. I just. This Malik Neighbors thing is just concerning me and Matt Nagy. Is I just like, oh, the fact
A
that they signed 5, 000 wide receivers today.
B
No.
A
Yeah.
B
Well, that's not. It's not good. Just not good.
A
I tweeted about it. I said, show me that you're worried about Malik Neighbors without showing me you're worried about Malik Neighbors. I mean, Odell Beckham and juju Smith Schuster. I mean, what the hell are we doing here? What in the world are we doing here?
B
And they also signed a time machine too.
A
Should bring Them open. Where's Victor Cruz? What's he doing? Where's he dancing right now? Which team do you think got the best deal today? This is a great question. I want to end on this one. This is great. So who won the day? The Rams, The Eagles, The Pats or the Browns?
B
It's gotta be the Browns. I mean, I think that they got the. Because, like, in terms of just like when we look back at, I mean, I guess if the Rams win the super bowl, then they, if the Rams
A
win the super bowl, they won the day. Yeah. So theoretically, since Vegas thinks they're the favorite anyway, well, then, then the Rams
B
won the day, but the Browns are setting themselves up. Really?
A
How about this? You like this? The Rams won the. The battle, but the Browns might have won the war today. Long term, look, you know what I mean? Or if they can actually use the picks that they've got now and move up to take the quarterback that they want in the future and, and correct some of the wrongs, then, then that's what it looks like. But busy day of NFL stuff there. And again, if you love NFL, we've got an amazing channel for you. Tailgate NFL. It's on YouTube right now. Go subscribe. Fantasy & Betting Implications
Browns Perspective & Future
On the magnitude:
"This is a massive deal. Adam Schefter reported it earlier. Myles Garrett going to the Rams—this was a massive move. You don’t see big stars like this always getting moved at this stage in their career." – Joe [01:17]
On Rams’ risk/reward:
"The risk is enormous of this trade because Jared Verse is a great young player that you could build around in the future... but Miles Garrett is already there." – Joe [14:03]

Who won the day?
NFC East Outlook
On Rams & capology:
"Now, how does this open things up from a maneuverability standpoint of the Browns franchise going forward?" – Joe [08:32]
On New England's fantasy outlook:
"AJ Brown... you can’t rank him high enough because he’s going to get peppered with targets." – Andrew [20:49]
On Eagles’ WR depth:
"When you’re playing next to AJ Brown it’s really hard to be Batman. [...] Smith has been really, really good, really efficient." – Andrew [26:45]
The hosts blend rapid-fire, statistic-backed analysis with fan-level enthusiasm, friendly ribbing, and occasional New England bias (“two Patriots giving up their first round pick…”). Insights are shared conversationally—never dry, always accessible for the avid or casual fantasy footballer.
Two seismic trades shake up both NFL real-life outlooks and the fantasy landscape.
Rams are immediate Super Bowl favorites—if they stay healthy—while Browns gain valuable youth and flexibility for a long-term reset as the AFC North’s future gets cloudier.
Patriots finally get their alpha WR to pair with Drake May, fueling breakout and upside talk for all major NE skill players.
Eagles shift the future to Devonta Smith and Makai Lemon but lose some top-end firepower.
Fantasy managers should adjust ranks immediately—targets spike for the NE passing game, the Rams D/ST surges, and rookie Makai Lemon enters "league-winner" territory as a mid-round draft riser.
