It is the Fantasy Pros best ball show for one last time this off season. Myself, Tom Strachan and Andrew Erickson. No live draft tonight because we've got bigger things to talk about. We need to talk about the guys who have become our conviction plays from the last three, four, five months of drafting. Now, like, there have been a serious amount of drafts here on the channel. We have both been drafting plenty of other teams off the channel and we've come to points where we both have players that we love, players that we don't want to draft, and then possibly some that we've overlooked. So we're going to get to all that first. But first, Andrew, we need to hit on a little bit of a news today because the rosters are getting cut down. We're past training camp. Players are actually having to practice with an eye on those first weeks of games. And, and it always felt like at the very kind of latest, this would be the time when the Terry McLaren deal would get done, which it does. Three years, 96 million. It always sounded like this was the kind of money that he was pushing for. He got what he wanted. And I think that we just kind of have to agree this is probably the best situation for everyone, isn't it?
C
Yeah. Let's get Terry McLaurin back into the starting lineup for the Commanders. Now, it remains to be seen how in shape that he is. Like, that's always a big question mark with these guys that hold out. Even Jamar Chase, as fantastic as he was last year, even he started out the season kind of slow.
A
Yeah.
C
So that's something that you need to proceed with caution. And I think for me, I think this doesn't make me want to draft Terry McLaurin because I think this is going to cause his ADP to rise because now, okay, he's back at camp or he's back with the team, he's got the deal done and maybe it does happen for him eventually. We'd obviously have Jamar Chase, you know, be the player that you needed last year as the highest scoring wide receiver as soon as he kind of got back up to speed. But we also saw Brandon Aiyuk last year and it was terrible for Brandon. That was like the worst case scenario. You come back, you're terrible for six weeks and you immediately get injured. So that was like the worst case scenario for not saying that's going to happen to McLaren. But you know, aside from all the holdout situation, there are also just red flags in his profile anyway, in terms of the touchdown regression, is he going to catch as many touchdowns he did last year? Probably not. In terms of his high end target share, it wasn't high. He was outside the top 30 in targets per game last year. So not necessarily the most alpha of alpha receivers. And I mean it's not like he had a lot of competition last year. It was Zach Ertz, it was Noah Brown who got who didn't play in the second half of the season. So I mean, Deebo Samuel. Yeah, I'm not the highest on Deebo, but is he better than what they had last year? Yes, I think so. Especially if he's seeing scheme touches. Yeah, Tom's not sugarcoated like, yes, Deebo Samuel is better than that was on the field last year. So yeah, I'm still worried about McLaren and I'm concerned that this is going to kind of create a false sense of security with McLaren that he's now back. And I think that fantasy managers are probably going to be disappointed now, maybe changes down the second half of the year, but I think in the first half, or at least the first month of the year, it's going to be tough sledding.
A
Yeah. John Daigle from Establish a Run pointed out on Twitter earlier that McLaurin converted 77% of his end zone targets into touchdowns and that was the highest rate among 58 wide receivers with six end zone targets. We know that kind of production year to year isn't necessarily sticky. McLaurin, looking at our real time ADP on fantasy pros, has been going between pick 44 and 42 on Yahoo and sleeper over the last couple of days. Now, if he starts getting pushed up, bearing in mind that he could be potentially looking at touchdown regression, it's definitely not a pick that I'm probably going to want to make because I think there's so many really strong wide receivers in the round four, round five range. So yeah, it does become a little bit of a tough sell for me. Another wide receiver in the news, Jacoby Myers, after a New contract. He's due $10 million this year, which is less money than Darnell Mooney, less money than Christian Kirk by a long way. Less money than Khalil Shakir. It's less money than Rashad Bateman. Darius Slayton. Like, there's a whole bunch of these players who Jacoby Myers has been more consistent than, I would probably say. And now he's sitting in that point where it's like, well, I'd like a raise. The Raiders say they don't want to give him a raise right now, but they don't want to trade me either. It sounds like they'll probably figure this out at some point, but it doesn't sound imminent. Andrew, you're a Patriots fan. Do you really want to see him come back to New England?
C
Yes, I would love to see Jacoby Myers come back to New England because before it was Demaro Douglas manning the slot in the Drake May offense. Who was it at unc? Some guy named Josh Downs? He was pretty good. He was pretty good with Drake May. So, I mean, I would think it would be a fantastic move to bring Jacoby Myers back to the New England New England Patriots. We'll see if it gets done. But we know the Patriots have been very active in trying to acquire receivers through trade because besides guys coming off injuries, no one else has been able to get a contract or get them in the building. I still can't believe the Chris Godwin thing where he's still not healthy and he. He turned down more money to stay with the Buccaneers and go to the Patriots despite him not still being healthy. And of course, Stefan Diggs is coming off an acl. So of course, the Patriots rolling out the red carpet. First of all, Diggs at age 31 to come down and help catch passes from Drake May. So again, being tongue in cheek here, we're talking about Jacoby Myers. I think this has to be related to what the McLaurin deal, because this kind of popped up out of the blue. I know that Myers was entering a contract year, so naturally he's thinking about, okay, can I get this extended? I don't want to play on an expired contract. Because then you don't have, like, that injury guaranteed to get banged up. Well, who am I playing for next year? And he's not stupid. Like, he saw the Raiders invest in receivers in the draft. A lot of the conversation about Jack, Jack Bash has been, hey, he's going to be the next guy in 2026 that's going to take over Jacoby Myers role. In the slot, some outside inside versatility. So I mean if I'm the Raiders, I don't want to lose Jacoby unless they really feel confident that Bash is ready to go and but then you'd have, I mean when they're operating in 12 personnel with the two tight ends with Bowers and Mayer, that means they're going to have probably two rookie receivers on the field, you know, manning all the snaps. Unless Trey Tucker is also someone that they're also high on. So if anything it just gives credence to maybe some of these Raiders going late in some of these best ball drafts. Even like Trey Tucker, like maybe he has an opportunity that we're not necessarily accounting for with some of the rookies. But yeah, I think that they'll probably get something done with him. But if someone makes a surprise move, I think the Patriots are kind of alive.
A
I think it's one of those situations where already I'm spinning forward and going is this the kind of play that we could see by the trade deadline? Somebody needs wide receiver enforcements. By that point we get to a point where the Raiders and maybe Raiders are good, maybe Raiders are in the mix or maybe the Raiders of that point see writing on the wall and are willing to move him in order to have a bit more draft capital next year because they are going to need to keep taking shots at wide receivers. Like, you know, I know you mentioned Jack Besh but like the reports out of training camp haven't been great for him or yeah, if he does get paid, I imagine it's probably in that kind of 15 million a year range, probably not pushing up to like the 18, 20 million range where a lot of more established players at a higher level are getting paid. Andrew, we are going to talk about some of our highest roster players but in a minute I want to just take some of the questions because we've got loads of people with us over here on Twitch tonight and I'm going to start with JFAR55. Hey guys, I'm in a 12 man PPR keepers league. I'm the 12th pick. Should I keep Barkley or Neighbours? I mean you're getting some real value there between choosing Barkley or neighbors of a 12 pick and obviously there's probably going to be a good chunk of talented players taken from there as well. Andrew, what's your lean? Barkley or Neighbors?
C
I am. I know you're not the highest on Seiko Barkley so I will go with Malik Neighbors.
A
How close is that one? Because that feels like a Fairly tough one because values a bit better on Barkley but you've got to kind of stick to what really feels best for.
C
Yeah and I'm not sure if they can follow up in the chat if this is a keep forever type of league where you could keep this player next year as well. It's like again if we're talking about 2026, I mean Malik neighbors could be wide receiver one. Depending on how things kind of shake out, how good Jackson Dart may or may not be, he could be drafted well ahead of Barkley next season. So I'm willing to take the shot on him here.
A
Okay, let's move over to I'm Kobo 8 team draft last night. First three picks Lamb, Chase Brown, neighbors took Brown oversee CMC, Achan, Henry and Jacobs. Did I mess that up? I really wanted Chase this year but I knew he wouldn't be there coming back around but still thinking I shouldn't have should have taken CMC over Chase Brown. I mean ADP would tell you that most people are higher on CMC than Chase Brown, but look, CMCs played more than 11 games once in the last four years. So if you're looking to really build a super team which what you've kind of got to do in an eight team league, I don't have a problem with somebody standing on conviction on a player like cmc. Really Andrew, would you have done that or would you have just taken cmc?
C
I mean I probably would have taken. I mean I probably would have taken cmc. Yeah, I think that's kind of decision I would have made. I probably would have taken HN too. I still think that he also has a really high ceiling. It looks like this calf thing is, was really more precautionary. Although the Dolphin situation is someone somewhat not, not optimistic I would say is maybe the best way to describe it. There's definitely concerns about just the entire Dolphins vibes, but I think yeah, you're taking a, you're taking a swing for the fences. But I think that drafting CMC is a similar swing for the fence. Yeah, right. Because if he's healthy he's going to score a ton of points.
A
Yeah. What I would say as well is that in 18 leagues it's a little bit easier to find that running back production because so many players are going to be left on waivers. So you know, you could take CMC and then you just have to commit to being very active on waivers and accepting that it might mean that you are going to need to cut somebody who you Feel better about if it means you can pick someone up off waivers after week one who looks like they're getting a good workload. Right. We'll take a couple more and then we'll circle back to some of these in a little bit. Trillo kick. Hey guys, got a trade question. Full PPR2QB tight end, premium free, blah, blah. Should I trade Bijan Jakori Krusky merit and a 2026 fifth for Hampton Pits and a 2026 first. Keepers can only get kept for two years before we go back into the draft. So you would get. So basically you're trading away Bijan now when you've only got one more year of use on him as well as JCM and a fifth for Omarion Hampton pits and a 2026 first. I think that's worth it if you. I mean look your team, which I'm not going to read out the entire team, but the team is a good team and I think that you could compete this year and you'd stand a better chance with B John Robinson. But if you feel like there's any kind of weakness and you'd like to start looking towards 2026, then that's the kind of deal I'd do. I just maybe look for some else instead of Kyle Pitts.
C
Yeah, the other ancillary pieces of this deal don't really make it to me it's the Bijan for Omari Hampton in the future first. Like the other pieces are whatever like just in the wash. But I'm just trying to like in my mind think about like you said, if you really feel like maybe going after. Because this is the year you want Bij B John, like if Bijon is ever gonna. This is gonna be his, you know, his big season. If it's going to happen, it. It would be year three. It's kind of like all teed up for him to smash. He's the consensus or right around the consensus RB1 for redraft for this year. So I'm just looking over the rest of his roster and I mean yeah, receiver you've rice who's suspended, McMillan's injured or if it's Tetrawell McMillan. I hate just. I hate giving up Bijan before what could be his super Nova season. Like that's like, that's the biggest hang up for me. But the fact you're getting Hampton and a future first, like that's, that's what. That's. You're getting good value back for Bichon. So if you really feel like you don't want to compete this year and you really want to trade Head for then I think you have to do it like you said.
A
Tom okay, let's take one more and then we'll get to some of our highest roster players and we will keep coming back to the chat. So keep dropping your questions tonight because we're going to try and help as many of you as possible. Musclehamster saying what's your strategy from the three spot? I have Chase Brown as a keeper in the 13th. Love that Judy is a keeper in the 16th. I'm leaning wide receiver heavy. Well, it's tricky without knowing who all the keepers are in it in your league. But look, when I go into drafts and the series I've written on Fantasy Pro is about how to draft from each spot. This month with the 103, my lean is that I probably won one of the top wide receivers. Like if Bijan falls, then yes, I'll happily take him. I think it's fair to say Jamar Chase isn't falling to the 103. Obviously if he did that would be an auto click. So it comes down to CD Lam or Justin Jefferson. And right now I've kind of swung back to CD Lam. I think that George Pickens is going to clear everything out downfield and help CD Lamb just hit an absolute monster workload. Andrew, where do you go there?
C
I'm with Lamb too. I honestly just I can't believe that Lamb's not consensus over Jefferson.
A
Yeah, I, I guess it's been injured all off season.
C
I yeah, and that's the, and he's playing with a quarterback that he's never played with the quarterbacks never played in the NFL. And I'm not trying to like poo poo JJ McCarthy because I think that he can be good. But it's still a projection. It's still an unknown. You know, we see quarterbacks and receivers take time to gel. Maybe it doesn't happen week one. Whereas you're not worried about any type of chemistry issue between CD Lamb and Dak Prescott. So I just think that it's again, you're not like totally writing off Jefferson because you rank him one spot behind CD Lamb. But I, I just think that Lamb over Jefferson is how I would always approach it. I I don't think that I would be in a situation where I would do the ladder. So yeah, for me it's, it's Lamb. And then if that's not the case, it would be Gibbs as if I go running back there. If it's Bijon and Chase as the one two and I would go Gibbs.
A
I would say it's a really good year for wide receiver, running back or running back wide receiver in the first two rounds. I feel like it's got stronger options pretty much throughout the draft board for that and like leaving the first two rounds with one wide receiver and one running back feels very good. Look, I know there's loads more questions and we are going to get to them but all week people are going to be here on the Fantasy Pros Twitch just taking your questions, trying to help you out as much as possible. We're going to get to as many as possible tonight. Scott Bogman and the Welsh will be doing a mock draft at 2pm Eastern tomorrow, Tuesday, Seth Woolcock and Debro and answer your questions on Wednesdays at 2 Eastern. And we've also got Q&As Thursday and Friday at 5pm Eastern. So give us a follow and ask questions live right here on Twitch like the many good people in the chat are doing tonight. But Andrew, let's get a little bit more self involved for a moment. We have done tons of drafts this off season. I know that I'm sort of sitting close to a couple of hundred best ball teams. I know you're kind of near to the triple digits and we have made our stands. We have got real convictions on players by this point and perhaps we're a little bit surprised by some of those. So Andrew, we'll start at the quarterback position. Who are your top most rostered players in best ball at the quarterback position?
C
Yep. So it's everyone's favorite passing quarterback. Justin Fields is the number one guy at quarterback. Daniel Jones, Geno Smith, Jackson Dart and Brock Purdy. So Tom, where do you want me to start? Daniel Jones? Is that where I should kick things off?
A
So were you drafting Daniel Jones throughout the off season just assuming that he was going to win the job or was it just a case of kind of like late round quarterback being your tactic of choice?
C
I think a little bit of both. I felt like he was going to earn starts at some point during the season. Now I honestly would have preferred him to not start the season because we talk about this through all these live streams where the money weeks are weeks 15, 16 and 17. And it actually doesn't work in Daniel Jones favor that he's starting the year because it's now less likely that he holds the job for that much longer where he is the guy that you needed weeks 15, 16 and 17. So if I could go back and change all my Daniel Jones teams at Richardson teams I'd feel comfortable with that because Jones I can't or I would say very confidently that he's the QB3 on all these rosters. Like he's not the QB2, he's not someone that I necessarily needed to start games. It was more like hey, late round pick here. He has rushing upside, he's attached to good weapons maybe. I already drafted some Colts players so he fit a lot of builds. Again they play I believe it's the Jaguars in week 17. So some if I drafted Brian Thomas Jr. Or Travis Hunter or something along those lines or Bashaltutin, he fit a lot of the bills that I did and I was getting him late enough where I felt like, okay, he's going to get some starts and if he runs hot with a couple of rushing touchdowns and he can hit my lineup. So that was really the process behind Daniel Jones. Not to say that I'm like this massive Daniel, although I do like Daniel Jones secretly. Maybe not this massive ball on Daniel Jones.
A
Chat let us know how you're feeling about Daniel Jones if Andrew should be feeling that confident. So in general though, like your top five guys, it is just feels Daniel Jones, Gino Jackson Dart, Brock Purdy. No, it's a lot easier to get concentrated on players as the draft goes on. But do you feel like there's been value later on in draft this year? Obviously Justin Fields goes kind of QB10 range, Brock Purdy similar. And then you're talking about three players in Daniel Jones, Geno Smith and Jackson Dart who really go after round 15, round 16. Predominantly.
C
Yeah, I kind of just felt like these guys were undervalued just because of where their weapons are going. Right. So you look at some of the stacks that you're doing and we'll talk about some of the jets players a little bit later on. Now maybe I don't feel as great about that anymore. But you have the 49ers offense that we know is always really efficient and I know that they always had some injuries pop up, but Brock Purdy should still be in the conversation when we're talking about who's the most efficient quarterback in terms of yards per attempt, in terms of passing yards per game. He does have CMC back, he does have George Kittle back. So I think Brock Purdy is going to be efficient. He's going to have spike weeks with the touchdowns. And I would say like probably like the best bang for my buck has been like Geno Smith as a one of the cheapest 17 game starters that you can feel good about that again, going back to, he has two teammates that go in the first two rounds.
A
Yeah.
C
Between Ashton Genty and Brock Larson. And now, I mean hopefully they don't lose his number one wide receiver.
A
But that was the case with Aaron Rodgers last year as well.
C
But no, hey, hey, that did not work out. So if you have to, if you think that this year Aaron Rodgers is Geno Smith, please let me know in the comments. I can, I'm very far from taking criticism but.
A
And yeah, yeah, Jake Gillian in the comments saying that he's been grabbing Jackson dart in every draft and I think that that's one of the ones that I definitely have some conviction. I think that he'll be starting games before very long. Let's talk about my top quarterback. So numero uno, your guy Drake May, then Bryce Young, my guy Lamar Jackson, the rightful MVP of the 2024 season, Justin Herbert and Sam Darnold. I've got to be honest, I was a little bit surprised that Sam Donald was that high. I wasn't purposely grabbing a huge amount of him. But any, anything in particular that surprises you with that list, Andrew?
C
I mean, if you were to take a poll of who would have more Drake May, I'm sure that the voters would think it was me and not you. But now of course, I'm on the wrong side of that. So I wish I had more Drake May. I do like the Bryce Young play. I think the Carolina Panthers offense is sneaky and Bryce Young offers a sneaky fantasy football ceiling.
A
We talked about Bryce Young even on the very first best ball show that we did way back in May or late April, I can't remember now, where we talked about sneaky late round stacks. And that's always been the play for me with Bryce Young. But you could reach the 14th, 13th round and if you didn't have a stack on your roster, it was very easy to put together a late Panthers one. Now some of those may look a little bit worse if Adam Thielen suddenly ends up on the Vikings, but I'm willing to take that bet. And then Justin Herbert, I think has been undervalued. I think we see him going into the season healthy this year, which makes a big difference. And I think that we'll see him rushing a little bit more. I don't think you're gonna see, you know, 35 yards a game, but I think we might see 30 yards a game, which is enough to kind of bring him closer to the gap with dual threats. And then Obviously Drake made 35.1 Russian yards per game last year and significant upgrades at coaching and wide receiver. So very much hoping for a real true breakout for Drake. May we'll talk running backs and then we'll get back to the chat and answer a bunch of questions. Andrew, your top most exposed running backs.
C
Yep. So number one is Trey Benson, running back for the Arizona Cardinals, Rashad White, Blake Corum, Breeze hall slash Braylon Allen. So the just running backs and then Josh Jacobs slash Marshawn Lloyd. Got a four one up for Marshawn Lloyd. I almost, oh God, I almost got, I got sick to my stomach when I saw my exposure on Marshall Marsham.
A
Loid and the thing is we've done this. We've both done this two years in a row and for two years in a row it's been the little niggling injuries where you're just like okay, yeah, but he can come back and he's to clear RB2. And the reports in training camp are so effusive. They love Marshawn Lloyd and here we are. And oh man. Yep, it's, it's a pretty bleak one but if you could go back because obviously Marshawn Lloyd goes quite late. Do you feel like I guess that's the classic kind of one going well I wish I'd probably known about jcm, had a little bit more conviction a guy like him and obviously that's very easy to do. But how are you feeling about your Breeze Hall, Braylon Allen exposure? Do you think that it's got a path to being able to pay off or are you kind of hoping that Breeze hall gets traded so it opens up two running backs on two teams?
C
Yeah, I feel like that's, that's bad that that seems like it's the high end outcome for me. Where that's how this really hits is if Bruce hall actually does get dealt. But you don't draft guys in Breece Hall's range consistently banking on, well I know that he's going to get traded and it's going to open up all these avenues for all these running backs to score fantasy points. Now weird things happen and guys do get traded during the season so it wouldn't be the first time that something like this ended up happening. And you can try to galaxy brain and think, well Breece hall have a really low advance rate so that means when he pops off in the fantasy playoffs I'll do really well. That's not the reason why you should draft a guy in Round three really high. That's just not good process. So just talking about the jets in general, I wish I had more Braylon Allen and resolve. Just speaking value wise, I think that Braylon Allen, I mean this is something I was thinking about. If you gave Aaron Glenn truth serum and you asked him to guess the ADPs of his running backs on his team, there is no way that they would be nearly as separated as they are. Yeah, he would probably be like Bree Hall, RB10, Braylon Allen, RB12 or like he would say something very, very close. They'd be much closer together because I think that's how they're viewing them a little bit more. So although I never really wanted to be someone that was going to completely fade Breeze hall because of his skill set and the fact that I think that he can be the number one scoring running back any given week because of the dual threat skill set in a game where the jets have to throw more in more of shootout environments. That's his path to having a monster week, which I still think is possible. Even with Justin Fields, the consistency is not going to be there for him and that's what I'm concerned about, especially in redraft with Breeze hall, that the consistency is not there. So that's something that I'm not necessarily thrilled about. Then Trey Benson, it was probably more in the beginning of the offseason. I was drafting a lot of him, just kind of buying into the idea that yes, James Conner is a workhorse when he's healthy, but I know in the second half of the season James Conner is probably not going to be there ne so that's why I was buying Warren Trey Benson and he had some, I'd say mixed coach speak. It wasn't necessarily always positive. It seemed like the, the coaching staff and the other players around him were kind of trying to talk him up to like get him motivated to like be the guy.
A
Yeah.
C
And he's like we'll see what happens. Like, I don't really know. So again, a lot of handcuff running backs I listed off here just kind of betting against guys that saw monster workloads past seasons. Then Rashad White, it felt much better before his groin injury. I know we talked about Rashad White on a lot of shows, but I, I've cooled off him a lot since he injured his groin and because they continue to talk up Sean Tucker. So that's kind of my running back take.
A
I. I do think Rashad White still has the most upside in PPR among that running back room at the costs are given. Yeah. Appreciate everybody in the chat getting involved. First time over here. TG Simon Chase effect 24 Pathfinder MC and Derek the White. I see you all as first time chatters and look, if you're listening to us talk about our running back situation and thinking about like look I want to change my exposures, it's not too late because look, there's still the best part of a couple of weeks left to draft. Go and check out drafters promo code Fantasy Pros for 100% deposit match up to $100 drafters.com refer fantasypros. I drafted a huge amount of teams on drafters this offseason and it is a lot of fun. Great platform. $20 with a 500k grand prize total points formats. No in season management. And it's basically the team that scores the highest points is going to win none of that playoff pod. Look, it is a really fun format and a great place to flesh out your exposures at this point in the offseason because there is overlay brewing. They are not going to fill that contest. So let's talk about my top five running backs and then we will answer a boatload of questions from the chat. Running back this surprised me. Andrew, because he was a player last year I drafted 0% of across 380 drafts. Austin Eckler, Tyler Algier, which was less surprising? Jarquez Hunter, once again, one of your guys, Jordan Mason and then Cam Scatterbo. What stands out to you, Andrew?
C
Or what? What?
A
I mean how, how jealous are you?
C
So do I need to update my guys to Andrew and Tom's my guys? Because you're getting. You're the one that's actually drafted all of my guys in basketball.
A
So. Well, this is it. We did the show with Worm the other day. Our favorite players in each round and you got to the show sheet first and put in all your favorite players. But when it comes to the money on the line, Andrew.
C
See I was too busy trying to focus on the show sheet and not actually drafting these teams in this drafting these players. I so the running back. So Eckler, you were drafting him before all of this. Jakory Crosky. Because that's what you, that's what that's indicating to me. Because you have so much of him.
A
Yeah. And so Brian Robinson was somebody we both liked last year. We drafted him on our $350 fantasy pros championship team and it didn't work out for us. And Brian Robinson, I'd come to the conclusion was a fine NFL running back, but he wasn't particularly good fantasy. He's not going to bust, but he's not really going to help you. Austin Eckler at cost was a much more impressive bet and I was impressed with how good he was in the receiving game. I think a lot of people were wrong about Austin Eckler playing with Jaden Daniels, saying that Jayne Daniels wouldn't check down to running backs, wouldn't throw to him. But Cliff Kingsbury has actually quite often gotten passes to the running backs even with dual threat quarterbacks. So that was one which kind of opened my eyes a little bit. Then Tyler Algier, I mean I've banged the drum for Tyler Algier so hard this off season. He's the 19th RB2 currently being taken and yes there's lots of situations that are ambiguous so that plays into it. But there aren't 18 better backup running backs than Tyler Algier. Jacques Hunter is a bet against Kyron Williams and his inefficiency and Jarquez Hunter just being really fun. Like if Jacquez Hunter hits and we're talking about a 17, 18th, 19th, 20th round player, he is going to hit in a way which is absolutely going to pay off. Jordan Mason, I mean yeah, we've talked about him ad nauseam. Like we expect him to have a goal line role. We expect him to be very good in this zone scheme which he's kind of thrived in. And then Cam Scatterbo is just a classic play on the ambiguous backfield in those kind of middle rounds. 9 times out of 10 I just want to take the cheaper player and thanks to Cam Scatterbow getting injured it just brought the price down and I'm willing to bet on him getting the goal line role there. So have you been taking much Scatterbow over the last few weeks?
C
Not as much just because I have been kind of not exactly thrilled with the injury and how it seems like it is going to be Tyron's Tracy's role. But again this is going back to trying to figure out or not overvaluing those early season weeks where Tyrone Tracy is going to be the guy. This definitely makes Tyrone Tracy a better draft target in your normal redraft leagues because he's going to be there. But well, what happens if Cam Scatter comes back and is it does get healthy? You know, does he start to eat into Tyrone Tracy's workload? That's what I would assume. So it's kind of the. I don't want to compare it to like reverse line movement. But sometimes guys move in the wrong direction in best ball even though, okay, well when he does get on the field it's going to be later in the season and that's when we want those points more versus oh well, he's going to be the start of week one. It's almost like if you're the starter in week one, it means it's less likely you're the starter in week 17. So that's kind of an interesting way to think about it, but it just something we have to keep in mind, especially when it's not a cumulative scoring if it's really focused on those playoff weeks, trying to find as many guys, especially in the later rounds. Like that's where my mindset goes. Especially rounds 18, 19, 20. When I'm looking at the board of players, I'm just thinking, okay, who could do something Week 17 for me, whether that is part of a stack that I've already built out between some of my main players because that's what's going to help separate you, especially if it's a player that's low owned.
A
Yeah, absolutely right. Let's get back to the chat and we'll come back to our wide receivers and tight end shortly. So if you got questions, chuck them in and we are going to do our very best to get to them as many as possible. Coltrane Gaming just wanted to hit on quickly his top quarterbacks. Number one, Baker Mayfield at 28%, number two, Stanford Stafford and number three, Hertz. So really scooping some potential value on Stafford if that works out. Jalen hurts at 16%. I think that's so much potential to pay off that tier. Seems like it might not have been as good as it could have been. Let's go to KOA A she asked Please rate my team. I'm in a full PPR 10 team league. CeeDee Jacobs, Lamar, Kyron, Garrett, Wilson, Loveland, DK, Pacheco, Myers, Keenan Allen and Higgins. Good luck to you gents this year. Truly appreciate that. I mean look, you got Colston, Loveland, you got Lamar Jackson. It's going to be very hard for me to dislike that. I think when you look at the running back position here, you know, with Josh Jacobs, Pacheco, Kyron, you can poke a little bit of holes in there. I think maybe I'd be looking for somebody off waivers of a running back position. Andrew, anything else you're seeing?

How I would maneuver it as well. I'm not sure Higgins right now is the best bench space for you just based on the running backs that you currently have on your roster. And Higgins might be more of a slow burn for the Houston Texans. Just a matter of how quickly he's going to get onto the field. Seems like they like Xavier Hutchinson in his starting role. But we know Higgins is a second round draft pick. He is going to eventually see a bigger role in this offense. But I can just imagine week one comes by and you hey, I need a running back. Higgins is probably the first guy you're probably going to cut.
A
Yeah.
C
Just because of the way that things are kind of constructed here whereas everyone else kind of has their, their confirmed roles.
A
I think even potentially Keenan Allen could be somebody that. If you're not happy with the role early as well. But yeah, it's a fun team. I just, I would be aggressive on waivers for running back.
C
I do like the Lamar Loveland pairing.
A
Of course you do.
C
That's when you're doing elite quarterback and a late round tight. I mean the late round tight ends. It's Tucker, Craft, Tyler, Warren, Coleslaw. Like that's, like that's the strategy. That's the strategy, yes.
A
Okay, let's go to TJ Simon. Hey guys, Michael Pittman Jr. Is on waivers. Should I drop Matthew golden or Roma Dunzy for Michael Pittman? Andrew?
C
No, I don't think so. No, no, look, he's not going to move. He's not going to move the needle. Pittman is a floor guy that you throw in when you need somebody. But this, the ceiling is not going to be realized with Daniel Jones or really any of these Colts quarterbacks. So yeah, I think you got to keep Golden Odunze who could be massive level jumpers whereas Pittman is just the floor.
A
Yeah, very much so. I just, I like Michael Pittman but not at the cost of those guys. TCB relentless with the next question. 10 team half PPR auction league 1 QB, 2 wide receiver, 1 flex. How did I do? Purdy Dak, Bucky Hampton, Trevian, Pacheco, Long, Tutoria, Devonta Pickens, Pearsall Egbuca and Bowers. Who's long there? That's the one that's confusing me.
C
I'm not sure I was hoping you.
A
Would get well I think let us.
C
Know in the chat. Chad, help us please. Who is Long? Yeah, I'm like my mind goes to Jake Long but he was like a tackle, right? Yeah.
A
In general though the team like look with Purdy and Dakota quarterback. I think he said you don't need to make any moves there. Bucky Amari and Hampton, Trevillon, Pacheco, there's a really nice mix of volume and rookie upside. And then a wide receiver, Tet, Devonta, Pickens, Pierce, all egg bucha like those are all breakout candidates. And then Bowers, definitely reasonable. Trelok, Drake, London. There we go. In the chat I'm not sure how you got. Okay, so London also said Hunt Hunter.
C
Long who is actually a player but.
A
Yes, Drake, London, all of a sudden that goes from yeah, pretty good team to very good team. You, you crushed that one. Let's go. Pathfinder mc. If you had to pick one in standard scoring, who would it be? Josh Jacobs, Kyron Williams or Jonathan Taylor? I guess you're kind of talking potentially touchdown and just pure rushing. Really? Then JT for me, yeah, Jonathan Taylor. I'm a bit down on Jonathan Taylor in general because I prefer over options in the second round but in a standard scoring league I think I'd be okay with that one. We'll take two more questions then get back to our highest exposed players here. We've got Axel De G. Good to see you here dude. Rate my first players drafted 12 man. One QB, one wide receiver. Standard score Link. I started Genty, Josh Allen, JSN Garrett, Wilson, Pollard, McMillan Pickens, Jordan Mason. Did I choke reaching for Josh? You didn't choke, man. Look at this roster. I don't know how you can look at this roster and feel anything but good. So yeah, very much okay with that one.
C
Right.
A
One last one and then we will come back to some more. J. Chow 73, first basketball draft had the 8th pick wide receivers, Nico, MHJ, Debo Addison, Reed, Tesla, Coker, Noel Austin, running back, Trevion, Cuba, Tuba, Chuba, Bill. That'd be jcm, Benson, Giddens, Acres. Well, Acres got cut today, so that one stinks a little. Brock Bowers, Hunter Henry and then drake Mate, just JJ. JJ McCarthy, Daniel Jones. How do I do? I like it. I mean it's, you know, it's potentially. You've got the stack with Drake May and Hunter Henry you've got just J.J. mcCarthy and Addison you've got Daniel Jones who isn't stacked at first glance. Fair. But on the whole there's plenty of fun stuff. The running back room feels fine. Maybe, maybe I would have used an extra pick there. Six Running back seems seems a little.
C
Light, especially with Acres now just cut. I mean like that's obviously in hindsight but yeah, it seems very, very especially because for like a bell cow perspective like Chuba's probably the only guy that profiles is like an actual bell cow and even he has usage that you could kind of poke holes into in terms of his receiving. So yeah, I think running back is just probably light. But again, if these guys stay healthy, if your top guys stay healthy, you get the hyper fragile running back build and maybe you can hit.
A
Yeah and it's not too late to check out the Fantasy Pro's Best ball draft kit. We talk about so much stuff in there which is useful for all these kind of roster constructions. If you're just diving into best ball because there's still plenty of good promos and offers around, go to fantasypros.com bestball you'll get mine and Andrew's rankings stacks, rookie breakdowns, ADP risers, fallers, roster construction strategies. Honestly, if there's one article of mine that you read every year, make it the Hero RB, the 0 RB breakdowns. I love writing those ones. Our draft kit is everything you need to draft smart and win big in Best ball this season. And that's what me and Andrew are doing. So let's go over to the wide receivers that we have staked our chances on for this year. Now, Andrew, both of us, when it comes to wide receivers, have one player in common. And he's a player that we've talked about a lot. Drake London. I mean, it's just, it is, it's an easy.
C
London's calling, baby. London is calling and his name is Drake. Let's go. Oh, he's such a good pick. He's going to smash this year. And he gets. He's playing the Buccaneers week one. Like, that's the, that's my favorite part. We're going to see him smash right out of the gates. We're going to be so tired from all the victory laps we're going to do. It's going to be grand old time.
A
Yeah, I think like last year, I was very much in on Drake London and I was fighting fights on Twitter with people saying that he wasn't.
C
I was against Drake London. I was against him and now I've seen the light, which is Drake London.
A
Yeah, it's just, it's hard for me to poke any holes in him. But Andrew, who are your other top exposures at the wide receiver position?
C
Yeah, so technically he's my second highest. My number one is Jaden Reed and he is a guy that I find myself really on an island. It seems like everything that I've read about him and people are just fading. Jaden Reed and I, I totally get it. I get the usage concerns. He's also injured right now, so I understand why he continues to fall. But I'm just betting on the talent. As a guy going Outside the top 100 picks, he's averaged over 2 yards per route run last season. He's been highly efficient two years in the NFL. Year three is the most common season that we find receivers become wide receiver ones for the very first time. And if Matthew golden isn't this monster target hog and he's really more of a complimentary piece that just makes the offense better, then I could see Jaden Reed just being hyper efficient out of the slot. You know, it's funny, they move them around a lot. They use him out of the slot and when we see players deployed in this fashion, it's usually a good thing for them. It's like we want guys in motion, we want guys in the slot. This is where they can get layup targets and opportunities. So I'm just going to continue to draft Jaden Reed, especially as he continues to dip, dip, dip, and just going to bet on the talent, bet on a year three guy and someone that I've liked since his rookie year, someone I like back at Michigan State when I think that he was highly efficient as a great punt returner. So Jaden Reed again is my packers guy. And then the rest of the three are probably not surprising to most people. Jalen Noel, just think that he's been super slept on. He's been like my auto pick in some of these late rounds.
A
Oh, I know it.
C
Just not a lot of buzz around him, Not a lot of. Not lot of buzz around Jalen Noel, but not no negative buzz. So I think that that's a good thing. Jaylen Waddle again. I'm just all the way fading. Tyreek Hill all the way drafting Jaylen Waddle for one more ride and then another jets player, Garrett Wilson. So that's the part I probably feel the least good about just because of the inconsistencies with Justin Fields and just from a more of a macro perspective, just too bullish on the jets out of the gates. Right. I didn't need to be this bullish on the jets. And to be honest, I flip Flopped, I feel like throughout the offseason. At first it was, I like Wilson as the number one target with Fields, you know, that Ohio State connection. And then I kind of went more to the Breece hall side thinking, well, they're going to run the ball so much and Reese hall is just too talented. And then the Braylon Allen stuff kind of came out. So it's been a flip flop and unfortunately now I'm stuck with a lot of jets on these best ball rosters. And that's probably my biggest regret. Just, just too high on these jets players. Luckily, I would say the only thing that kind of works is it's in a. That round three, round four range where outside the elite quarterbacks and one of the tight ends, there's not a lot of guys in that particular range that I was also very bullish on.
A
Yeah.
C
So it's possible that taking Breeze and Garrett Wilson in that range doesn't bury me because no one in that range is like the guy you needed besides the elite quarterbacks who usually go before them anyway. So that's kind of my own that, you know, that's what helps me sleep at night. Basically. It's like, maybe this won't be the worst pick of the round three, round four turn.
A
Yeah, all it really takes is a couple of injuries in that range. Garrett Wilson, you know, last year he got there on touchdowns. Maybe he can get there again by a touchdown. So I can understand it. I just, it's been a situation. I've been a little wary of it. I've been much more comfortable taking Justin Fields than I have taking Garrett Wilson. And I haven't felt like I needed Garrett Wilson to stack with Justin Fields. Kerry Gato, do you fellas answer best ball questions? Yes, sir, we do. Absolutely. Any questions you guys throw in the chat tonight, we are going to try and get to as many of them. But you got best ball questions Cinema Way because look, this is the last time we're going to talk best ball till next off season. We want to talk about it. Andrew, like outside of those guys, is there a guy that you wish that you had in your top 5 most exposed players that you haven't man of the wide receivers.
C
Oh, actually it's probably Nico Collins. Yeah, that's probably the guy that I want more of. That's. That's pretty self explanatory, especially because he's been going at the middle back end of round one. And again, the round one picks are always kind of tough to be overexposed to, which is why it just. It was so easy. Yes, it's a very deep round one, but no one's going to be surprised, especially with the reason why I like Noel so much is part of that is the Texan schedule at the end of the season, just a lot of dome games. And if Nico Collins is healthy and firing in all cylinders, he's going to be hard to stop because he's such an alpha. So I would say Nico Collins is probably the guy that I regret not seeing up here because I absolutely love the guy.
A
Okay, so mine, Drake London, Josh Downs, Rashad Bateman, Jalen Coker and Tyree Kill. Tyree Kill really surprised me, but one kind of thing that I've been clinging on to is just how totally atrocious the Dolphins defense could be this year, particularly in the secondary. So there was a period where I was taking more Tyree Kill. I think it's just one of those, when I click Tyree Kill, I never feel good about it, so I never feel like I've just made a great pick. So it did surprise me a little bit. And he's kind of in a range of wide receivers where I've got four or five guys between 18 to 20%, so he's just at the top of there. But Josh Downs, somebody that I was hiring last year and somebody that I'm high on this year again, assuming Daniel Jones is going to be out there, Rashad Bateman, there's always going to be a few Ravens players in my exposures. When we're talking about the highest guys. Jalen Coker has just been an easy click, and even with the camp hype, even with the Adam Thielen trade rumors, we haven't seen much of a rise. Andrew, let's get through our tight ends quickly, take a couple more questions and then get to some of the guys that we're fading. You have got Tucker Craft, Chigokonkwo, Hunter Henry, George Kittle and Bowers. So a nice spread of players from, you know, couple near the top, then Tucker Craft in that sort of like round 11 range, and then Chig Conquo and Hunter Henry towards the bottom of the drafts. Are you pleased that these are the five guys who are going to carry you to millions of dollars?
C
I like these guys here, especially Tucker Kraft at the top. I like the veterans that I have, but I don't have nearly enough of the rookies. That's. That. That's the big. That's. That's what's missing here is more Tyler Warren and more Colson Loveland Apparently I wasn't preaching what I was talking about and what you've been talking about for the last couple months of drafting these Titans. Part of the reason is because I just there's so much Tucker Craft.
A
Well, so this is so look, I mean mine Sam laporter, George Kittle, Brock Bowers, Andrews and Tucker Craft. So again it's Tucker Craft. Is that pull in case of emergency in that range? Oh, damn it. I missed out on Tyler Warren. Oh, somebody pulled Constant Loveland up ahead of me. Oh, well that's okay because the Titan won overall for 2025. Tucker craft is still available on the board, so I'll just take him and it's a pants off dance off.
C
It's something like that. Yeah.
A
How are you feeling about Chigu Kongpo at this point in the off season?
C
I feel pretty good about him. I think that the preseason usage has been pretty encouraging for him and we know that, you know, 50 of the battle with these tight ends is just are you running enough routes?
A
Yeah.
C
Are you seeing enough opportunities in your offense just to produce? We know that he can be a yard depth of the catch savant. He's flashed that at times during his NFL career and I think that makes me most bullish on him was just how he finished the end of last year. Like people forget that Chico Conquo finished the season on a very high note to end the end of last the 2024 season and the year before that. But you have a carryover of the same play caller. It's the same head coach Callahan's Callahan saw what they did with Chicka Conqua at the end of last year and they're just not another wide receiver of consequence aside from Calvin Ridley that I'm so concerned about being a massive target earner in this offense. Like if anything, Tyler Lockett just being there just makes it harder for the rookies from the receivers from Iron man or DK to take on bigger roles out of the jump. Whereas Okonkwo and he's been in the NFL for a couple seasons like he knows what he's doing and we see this all the time with rookie quarterbacks leaning on their tight ends. Again, we've talked about this, you know, kind of jokingly about how Calvin Ridley's kind of set up for a poor Week 1 against the Denver Broncos. Well, where do you think Cam Ward might go to in that particular matchup? Maybe the tight end over the middle of the field between Chicaconka where he's getting more favorable looks because it's not pat certain that's going up against Chicago. So it could be as early as week one where you see a conquo really pop off here, especially if you go and redraft. When we're talking about week two waiver wire, who's gonna be the number one tight end added? Chicago. There you go.
A
Well, if there's one thing that the 2024 wave wire told me, it's that you can find a good reliable tight end who pops in week one and doesn't kill you in the waiver. Likely did look right. Let's move on and we're gonna get some questions in a second. But if we don't get to your questions tonight, remember that Scott and the Welsh will be doing a mock draft tomorrow at 2pm Eastern over here on Twitch. Remember that Seth and Debro will be here on Wednesdays at 2pm Eastern answering questions for as long as they possibly can. And then we've also got Q&A's first day and Friday at 5 Eastern. So make sure you are over here. Twitch TV fantasyprose We'll take some of these and then we'll talk some fades before we get out of here. Jake Gillian who are this year's Chase Brown and Chuba Hubbard of the running backs had a lot of them last year and did well. Andrew, I'll give you a couple whilst you peruse this one for a moment. What about Damian Pierce and Dylan Sampson? Damian Pierce, Joe Mixon is not coming off the NFI list before the deadline, which means he's out for at least first four weeks. I like Woody Marks as much as the next nerd in this sort of area of the industry, but Damian Pierce possibly is a leg up. Nick Chubb I'm not buying the explosivity or anything around that. So maybe Damian Pierce has a chance to go wind back for Clark and give us a kind of glimpse of what he shows in that rookie year and then Dylan Sampson. I mean we are two weeks away from the season starting. Quintron Jumpins has not signed his contract yet, has not practiced with the team. I really like Dylan Sampson as a rookie so I'm trying to prioritize getting those guys Andrew so I'm going to.
C
Co sign with Dylan Sampson. I think that that's such a great call. He's being very underrated. We don't know what the Quinton Judkins think when he's ever going to come back and Dylan Sampson was a good prospect. This guy's not even 21 years old yet he's like super young and I think the thing with him is if he does start out the season well then Judge Kins has to come back and get the job from Samson. Not oh Judkins, you just get the job because you were the second round pick like that no longer is in play. So I just think Samson, if he is good and can hit earlier then I think it's going to be his backfield to own and judge because you have to take it away from which is going to be tough to do. So I like that call. Now the Chase Brown one is interesting because a couple weeks ago I was so convinced it was Taji Spears. I was so ready. I was so on board. It's going to be Taj Spears. He's, he's shown out in limited capacity through two seasons but then he got the high ankle sprain and now obviously I'm less bullish on that just because he's banged up. So I don't have as good of a one for Chase I think. I mean maybe this is also just kind of being too, maybe not to being too cute but Braylon Allen's kind of the guy that comes to mind.
A
Yeah.
C
To be the series Chase Brown where I guess for me when I think about Chase Brown his rookie year, I think about this guy found his way onto the field despite Joe Mixon being healthy at the time. Like it wasn't a lot but he did get spurts where he got opportunities and that's what happened last year again first month of those at the first two games, Braylon all or Braylon Allen was playing alongside a healthy Breeze hall and he looked good, he looked legit. I remember that Thursday night football game where Patriots linebackers were just bouncing off Braylon Allen. They just could not tackle them. So those be my two names stealing yours of course Dylan Sampson and I'll say Braylon Allen.
A
Yeah, I like those shouts. I think Braylon Allen's definitely a good one. Axel to G saying how do you guys feel about Pollard seems like getting overlooked from my perspective. I love Tony Pollard. Andrew, have you been drafting a lot of Tony Pollard lately?
C
I've been trying to catch up because like I said earlier was very high on Spears. He gets banged up and I don't think that you've seen the market adjust enough to now what Pollard's projected workload looks like at the beginning of the season. We'll see if he can keep it up eventually when Taj Spears comes back. But I mean week one, week two, week three, it's Gonna be him and Julius Chestnut in that backfield. I know Khalil Mullins also got banged up. So Tony Pollard, although matchups aren't great, he's going to see a lot of volume so he should be a good pick.
A
I've been quite aggressive on Tony Pollard, been pulling him up in ADP over the last couple of weeks and feel pretty good about it. You know, came off his third straight thousand yard season. Had career highs in 70 plus yards per game last year. I really like Tony Pollard. I think he's going to have a perfect situation for a strong run out start the year. Let's go down to Jake Gillian and then we're going to talk about our fades quickly. In a 14 team league and a lot of really good teams 0.5 ppr. Would you pair up with Bijan looking for the highest upside? Chuba, James Cook or Henderson? I think the highest upside is probably Trevion Henderson, surely.
C
I think so. I, I mean no, I don't think so. I know so when you go over an upside case. Because the thing with Henderson that again I was, I know I was preaching this earlier in the offseason when I thought that he was overvalued and I was, I was way too early with that take of him potentially being overvalued because he's obviously skyrocketed up boards. But, but I think with him is he's the best player on the Patriots offense and when you kind of fit that role it's just they, the Patriots can say what they want and try to maintain his touches but as long as he's healthy they're going to have to feature him as much as they possibly can. And it reminds me of a situation where it was McDaniels, I think that he was coaching, it was Dion Lewis where it was just the way the backfield shook out. And for a 10 week period Dion Lewis was like the second highest scoring running back behind Todd Gurley. And it's just because it wasn't the plan going in. But at the time it just worked. He could operate on all three downs. Henderson can do that but it's a matter of can he handle this type of workload throughout the year. So I think maybe at least down the line if they feel confident enough in him. I think that he does have the highest ceiling. I mean Chuba Hubbard doesn't isn't involved in the passing game and James Cook how many touchdowns last year and was not a top five running. Yeah and he wasn't a top five.
A
Running percent of his points came from touchdowns. Like the highest amount of a top 24 running.
C
Yeah. So Cook, Cook has definitely the highest floor in my opinion because he plays on a good offense. Like he's going to see high value touches, he's going to score. I think he'll still score double digit touchdowns. Not to the extent of last year but Henderson is definitely the the ceiling play here.
A
Yeah, absolutely. I'm just giving you the pass, catch and running back in a Josh McDaniels offense. I think it can be that simple. Andrew, let's quickly touch on fades. So here some guys who I'm at below 5% will cover all the quarterbacks, running back, wide receiver and tight end in one foul sw and I'll let you ask which you can single one player out from my list and I'll do the same. So at quarterback, Anthony Richardson, CJ Stroud, Bo Nix and below 5% on all of them and every player in this list, Aaron Jones, Alvin Kamara, Breece Hall, AJ Brown, Amon Ra, Brandon Ayuk Goddard, Isaiah Likely and Mike Gasicki.
C
So I guess I'll ask you about Bo Nix because again I'll spoil my quarterback list. So I have Jared Goff, Joe Burrow and Bo Nix. So I also have Bo Nix in Fine and I really don't have, I feel like I don't have a good reason for it because I understand the the case and appeal for Bo Nicks entering year two. But I want to hear if you have another reason why.
A
Yeah, so Bonix, I mean Bonix obviously gave us a bit of a Russian production that we look for in this day and age from quarterbacks and it was good, it was definitely useful but it also felt like maybe it was pushed up a little bit by the four Russian touchdowns he got. I wasn't sure whether that was necessarily going to be repeatable or whether it was a case if they needed to because their running game wasn't particularly good last year. In general, I just feel like he's pushed into a range of the drafts where I like the wide receivers, I like the tight ends and I like the running backs. Like you look at the exposures I've got and you can kind of see those are guys generally with my fades. Like it's where I'm going with other positions like the running backs. Aaron Jones, Kamara Breeze, hall, those are all areas where I like the wide receivers differently. Tight end and it's nothing against Goddard, it's just that I like Tucker Craft, Colson Loveland, Tyler Warren. So yeah, it's generally that. Let's, let's talk about your fades quickly before we need to get on to some listener draft reviews.
C
Yeah. So like I said, so Gough Burrow and Bo Nixon the quarterback. So just Goffen Burrows mostly just because just fade the expensive pocket passers and if they burn me, they burn me. But just that's the process I try to follow. Running backs Saquon Barkley talked about him already. Chuba Hubbard, just not necessarily in love with the lack of receiving upside. With Rico Dowdle and Trevor etn I think they, they're going to play some roles in those types of things. And also again, going back to the range that he goes in, just like some of the receivers a little bit more and also some of the rookie running backs go in that range. And then Tony Paul I talked about, you know, that, that one, that one I feel bad about. Like I wish I had more of him. I'm just hoping that maybe he fizzled after the second half of the year. In the early season, production doesn't necessarily kill me at wide receiver Amon Ross, St. Brown, Tyreek Hill and DK Metcalf. I've just gone in a completely different direction in round one than I'm on RAW. I'm 100 fading Terry Kill, which is why I'm 100 in Jalen Waddle. So I could be the smartest guy in the room or this could just be one of the worst takes ever. But I'm all in either way, so we'll see what ends up happening. And then Metcalf, I mean, when is he, when have you ever needed to draft Arthur Smith's wide receiver one like.
A
Well, what if you never needed to draft DK Metcalf like Matthew Berry last week and he had some great stats about this and he was Talking about how DK Metcalf's only been a top 20 wide receiver once and yet he consistently gets drafted there. And in fact, Kyle Dvorchuk of ROA World has a great kind of perspective on this. He's like, people like to draft DK Metcalf because he looks like such a freak athlete, but the reality is in fantasy football, DK Metcalf rarely lives up to what we kind of hope from him. And going to a low volume offense like that one is definitely not the way to go forward. Look, we're an hour into this show and we haven't gone to any of our listener submissions yet, so we're going to hit on a couple of these draft reviews very quickly. Producer Seth let's see what the first one is. So this one is a draftkings team and it is a 3683 team with Josh Allen, Devon A Chan, Isaiah Pacheco, Brian Thomas, Devonte Adams, Jalen Waddle took a craft. I mean we know this direction this is going. Juwan Jenn, Drake May Rashid Shahid, Cam Scatterbo, Ray Davis, Kyle Williams, Hunter Henry, Jalen Wright, Mike Gasicki, Joe Flacco as QB3, Jalen Naylor CPAT and then Chisholm as the last wide receiver. So I mean Corduroy Patterson got cut recently, didn't he? So that's one which looks a little bit flaky. I'm not sure on a Josh Allen team that I would have worried about taking Joe Flacco as my third quarterback because I mean Joe Flacco had some really fun weeks over the last couple of years. But if Joe Flacco is outscoring Josh Allen, it probably means that you're outperforming compared to other teams who didn't take Josh Allen in the third round. But anything else stand out to you?
C
Andrew No, I think that those are kind of the main points. I like how they started their draft for the most part so we can be, we can pick holes into the late round picks as much as we can. Again also we don't know when this team was necessarily drafted so you know some of this is some hindsight analysis where we know certain things that we maybe we didn't know at the time. But I would agree Flaco, probably not necessary when you have Drake May you have Josh Allen and but besides that though I like a lot of the player selections. I like the Drake May Hunter Henry, Kyle Williams, Patriots stack. I like that a lot. Obviously Tucker Kraft is someone that we're a big fan. I love Jalen waddle, Brian Thomas Jr. Devonte and I do think that maybe with one of these later round picks I would have tried to throw in a New York Jet or or a Philadelphia Eagle, you know with some correlation with some of your top end players. And I think and Tom, correct me if I'm wrong, like that's kind of what I try to gravitate towards a little bit with late round picks is who are my stacks that I've already made out? Who are these guys playing in week 17 and who can I add? You know I do it with a lot of Rams players right because we draft a lot of Drake London, it's like Tutu or Whittington or one of the Rams backup running backs like throw them on one of those rosters. Yeah.
A
In general once we get past kind of round 15, it's looking for how could I enhance my roster. And that can be in a number of ways it can be going okay, well I need a player who can offer me this. But also saying these players at this area of the draft probably aren't going to turn into Kyron Williams or Puka Nakua. They're probably going to give me individual spike weeks or little areas of the season where they really pop in a decent way. So stacking them or team stacking them in kind of like an opposing team DFS mindset, that's generally where I'm going with that one. But I think it's a nice team. This was Phoenix Usin Lindale in the Discord. So do get in the Discord and head to the best ball channel if you want more bestball chat. But Seth, let's see the next team that we've got here. So this one is a another draftkings team and this was sent in from J. Chow 73 Nico Collins, Brock Bowers, Trevion Henderson, Marvin Harrison, Tuba Hubbard in round five, Debo Samuel, JCM in round seven, Addison Reed, Drake May, J.J. mcCarthy, Trey Benson, Hunter Henry Isaac Tesla. In round 14, D.J. giddens, Jalen Coker, Daniel Jones, Cam Akers. In round 18 another one got got by the Cam Acres Bug, Jalen Noel and Calvin Austin. How are you feeling about this one?
C
Yeah, so he read through the names. Kind of feel like this is all over the place a little bit so I'm just trying to digest it. I like the late round quarterback approach. Three guys with some upside. Daniel Jones. Okay so clearly I'm the Daniel Jones bull on this show so of course I have to like that pick. Noel, another great pick in one of the late wide receiver rounds. I would say that Tesla probably going a little bit early there at round 14. I would say though that in the back of my mind I keep thinking that he might have a big week 15, 16, 17 type of stretch. Just I don't know, I'm just getting vibes from him about that. So maybe that pickle end up looking really really sharp the receiver. So Nico starting off. Yeah, I think you have a good balance with Debo potentially starting out the season hot and having Jordan Addison to can backfill some of that production. If Debo Samo falls off a little bit it so I do like that. I would say kind of we brought this up earlier but not a lot of touches. I would say with this running back groom Chuba Hubbard is probably like your one bell cow. Henderson is obviously the upside play cross key merit I think is fair at that price. Obviously it's definitely not as good as what we saw like a month ago or even a couple weeks back. He's been priced up significantly. So running back is definitely thin here, especially with Acres getting cut.
A
Yeah, there's some players I really like, but running back is the area where I look at it and I go the double back double tap at quarterback made sense because it can feel easy like you're getting shut out and obviously you're stacking. Drake May with Henderson. We talked about the pass catch and stuff there. We talk. You know, Addison and McCarthy obviously stack well together but I think in that range I would have been looking to possibly secure another running back. But in general I think it's fairly well constructed. I just would have been. There's just little bits where I go. I maybe would have looked for something slightly different at this range. Seth, we got one more. I think we must have at least one more. Another draftkings team Brock Purdy Jonathan Taylor Chase Brown Jamar Chase George Pickens Ricky Pearsall Colston Loveland, Kenneth Walker, Emekareg Buka Travis Etienne Javante Williams, Christian Kirk, Kyle Williams, Joshua Palmer, Anthony Richardson maybe for that late season hammer jcm pick185 so this must have been a little, a little bit of time ago. Russell Wilson, Theo Johnson, Sean Tucker, Harold Fanning. Now the first thing that kind of stands out to me with this one, Andrew is the tight end room. Colson Loveland, Theo Johnson and Harold Fanning, which look, I mean they're all guys I like, I just think sometimes you have to think, okay, so now I've got three fairly thin bets. Like as much as I like Colson Loveland as much as like we've talked him up for a while and I've definitely been beating the drum on that one. I think it's fair to say that, you know, rookie titans don't always hit even if we've seen more hit in the last couple of years. And so if you're pairing him with a three time build, one of those guys, typically I would be looking for a veteran, someone like a Hunter Henry or a Mike Gasicki or a KD Art and somebody a little more, a little more safe. But I think that it definitely represents a pretty big upside swing. How are you feeling on this one?
C
Yeah, I think that this team is dying for Hunter Henry on it. That's what I'm thinking just like from a steady body at the veteran tight end position, I think that he could fill in here. But overall I, I really like this team. I think that the running backs are kind of loaded. They obviously invested a lot of capital into running back but then you getting Jacori Krosky merit so late is kind of like the cherry on top as your RB6. I think that it is RB6 or 7. So one of the late round running backs. I have not been drafting Russell Wilson at all just because I think that he's going to be a total zero by the time we get to the second half. But I do have Anthony Richardson here so. So I think that's if anytime that he plays games he has a chance to outscore Brock Purdy and, and you don't have to necessarily project that. So I like that you have Richardson as the upside play. Purdy is a good pocket passer and you have him stacked up with Ricky Pierasol which I think is fantastic. I think to your point about having that tight end, if we maybe swapped out one of these running backs for George Kittle, would you like this roster like significantly more just based on who they were elsewhere to draft at running back like instead of, I mean what they have etn Javon probably. Probably like instead of Walker. Probably George Kittle. Yeah.
A
If you swap down Walker or even even potentially kind of Chase Brown For Bowers McBride, I think then definitely I would feel strongly about liking this roster. I think that's a really smart point. And then I think you could have found somebody later on running back to make up for it. I mean Sean Tucker's a great choice but. But you know there's been a good while in this draft since a running back was taken. By the time you kind of go past Javonte Williams really not touching anyone for almost 100 picks. So very, very much with you on that mindset. Look, we have gone long tonight. We're going to take a quick couple of questions from the chat and if we do not get to your questions, head over to the Fantasy Pros Discord and drop them in there. Tag myself, tag Andrew and we will do our best to get back to you as soon as possible. TCB Repentless Purdy or May at qb? I have Dak as my other qb. I know Purdy is ranked higher but May has more upside, right? May has more upside.
C
Yes, yes, yes.
A
I mean I will say Purdy is probably gonna have to throw a lot because their secondary doesn't look good but I still lean towards Drake May, Enrico Palazzo. Who do you think finishes higher? Trevor Lawrence Drake May or Michael Pennock's junior?
C
Yeah, straight May for me.
A
Straight May. We're just, we are fully Drake May slappies around here. Proper, Proper L. Properly. Gentlemen, I'm having a bench problem. I can't decide who to drop between Trey Burton and Scatterbow.
C
Scatterbow. Yeah. So you gotta drop.
A
Okay. Got cap 70 is taking cross key merit in round five of the dynasty traft. Is that an extreme risk? As a commander's fan? Yeah. Round five is, is because if you.
C
Take him in a dice draft, what's going to stop the Commanders from drafting a guy in round two next year? Nothing. Like, like, that's like the big red flag with. You cannot draft him this high. Can't.
A
You have to remember guys like James Robinson who looked fantastic and did all that and then it's like as time goes on, little chinks in the armor appear and you know, JCM hasn't played a down in the NFL and it doesn't matter how high the Commanders were on him when the games go and if something slips and he's not quite good enough, then it's very easy to lose it and that's just too high. I know, I, I fully understand what you're saying, but someone will take me around six, seven. I'm gonna push it.
C
Let him take them. Like, like it's, it's too aggressive. Especially with, you know, if you just think about how high, I mean we were having conversations during rookie draft season about Cam Scatterboo versus guys like Jaden Higgins and Luther Burden and, and now you think about, oh, that's he like why would I take Scatter boo at this point? Like he's a fourth round, he's a day three pick versus some of these guys that were much higher drafted. The, the teams can say what they want about when they drafted these players. And yeah, I think that cross gamer is better than a seventh round rookie pick, but he still was drafted in the seventh round. And you know that when push comes to sub, when they have to pay these guys, they're going to be like, well you were a seventh round pick, so how much do we actually have to pay you? And to your point about James Robinson, all of these guys were players that you need to sell before the value went out. It was James Robinson, it was Pacheco, even Pacheco. Like you've seen his value just like crater after he got even Kyron Williams.
A
Even Karen Williams value has dropped since his incredible breakout year.
C
Yeah. So you just gotta. Yeah, this is too expensive.
A
Yeah. Well, we have gone over by an extra 10 minutes, so we're gonna have to call it back the last show.
C
So we gotta do. We gotta do it for the people.
A
Yeah. Now, Andrew, this has been an incredible best ball season. I know I've had a lot of fun. Really appreciate you and of course we both appreciate producer Seth, who has been an absolute rock star behind the scenes throughout. And thank you to everybody who has enjoyed it and to everybody who's coming along the way. And particularly I enjoy all those, all those comments telling me that my accent is stupid. It's really, really good stuff. But yes, we will be back next offseason, but of course there's loads more happening here on Twitch. Remember that Scott Bogman and the Welsh will be doing a mock draft at 2pm Eastern tomorrow. Seth and Debro on Wednesday and then Q&As Thursday and Friday. And of course everything you need is on the site to set you up for a massive 2025. You got questions, we didn't get to drop them in the discord. Myself and Andrew will keep an eye and try and answer as many of them as possible. But for myself, Andrew and producer Seth, for one last time this best Ball season, we'll catch you soon.
