Let's get to the names and the first one, the waiver wire ad of the week. For better or worse. We're gonna discuss them. It's Hollywood Brown and yeah, Hollywood Brown had himself a day. Xavier Worthy went bye bye. Travis Kelsey took him out. He heard that it was Taylor Swift's favorite draft pick and he said no, no, I don't want any competition here going around. And unfortunately Xavier Worthy is injured. But Hollywood Brown stepped up in his absence in a big way. 99 yards, 16 targets, 10 receptions. So Pat, I want to start with you with this one because if you look at the roster percentage on sleeper, he's 31 rostered, he's available in 70% of leagues. But Hollywood Brown also never the picture of health necessarily. On top of which we don't know as of now when Xavier Worthy's coming back, the extent of his injury and Rushy Rice is due back. So this is one of those classic moments where the rubber meets the road and we have to look at this and say, okay, I, how much do I need this player for next week, the week after the month of September perhaps and how much am I willing to spend and set myself back just to get Hollywood Brown, whose presence in this offense could be short lived. So how do you approach Hollywood in week two?
Pat Fitz Morris
He is best selected by people who need short term production because Rasheed Rice we know he's going to start with a six game suspension with once Rice comes back, I think Hollywood's value basically evaporates. And Xavier Worthy, depending on the severity of his dislocated shoulder, it could either be two to four weeks if it's just dislocated or if there's a labrum tear with it, he could be gone for the season. So at minimum it seems like you're gonna get a two to four week Runway with Hollywood Brown here. But that Runway is really attractive. Now. A lot of those receptions he had were just kind of short, nothing burgers. There was just the long reception where the Chargers completely lost him on defense on a Mahomes scramble. And ideally, I don't think Hollywood Brown is your catch and run guy considering that, you know, he is. He's built like an 8th grade boy basically and you don't want him taking all those shots. But it seems like he's going to fit into that role. And the guy they were throwing too deep was Tyquan Thornton. I just wonder, like, is there a chance that maybe they start using Juju more in that role as sort of the catch and run guy? But there might be a lot of catch there. I don't know how much run there is going to be. Hollywood Brown can at least, you know, get loose and make an explosive play with this speed. So I do think the target outlook is very bright for Hollywood Brown in the short term. So if you need immediate help, I think he's worth a fairly decent sized spend on waivers.
Joe P
D Ro, talk to me about Hollywood Brown and then also talk to the people who have Xavier Worthy and what that premium should look like if you're trying to get yourself a little of insurance here in the next couple weeks. Because chances are when you take a zero from Xavier Worthy, it's a good chance you lost your matchup. Like that just happens. Unless you got kind of lucky when some other things really went your way and didn't go your opponent's way. So you're staring at 01, you're staring at Worthy missing time. What does that premium, if any, look like for you on Brown? And talk to me about your evaluation of the player as well.
Dbro
I mean, dude, 16 targets is 16 targets. I understand, like, that's a point. The, the ending stat line was greatly helped by the blown coverage play that Patty just talked about. But I mean, still a 40, a 41% target share, a 40% first read share in that game, which is going to continue until Rice is back. Because I mean, yeah, like to Patty's point, juju might be the more economical bid, but I mean, Hollywood has the role. And so honestly, I think you put in bids for both these guys. But we know that you're going to have to bid aggressively to get Hollywood. And if you have a team that, whether you're staring at Xavier Worthy or maybe you have Drake London because he's also dealing with a shoulder injury and we don't know how, how long he's going to be out. So if that's a week or two or if you have Jordan Addison and you're looking at a plug and play until he is back. This all comes back to should you a bit aggressively on Hollywood. Yes. If you need the short term replacement. I do think the shelf life we know is going to be short lived. It might be one game with this type of usage but he's still gonna command probably while Rice is out a 20 to 25% target share. I mean come on guys like 16 targets we're probably looking at. You're probably gonna spend at least 20% to honestly in most realities to get him. Am I wrong there probably North.
Joe P
I don't think you're wrong of that. I don't think. I'm not saying you spend it.
Dbro
I'm just saying that's probably the line of demarcation.
Joe P
But Pat, I think that's the thing like if you're owing one I think you spend and you your own one you have worthy and maybe even Rice and you had a bad loss. You don't like the way your wide receiver group looks. I think that's when you pay the premium. Other than that, I think I might let this one go. What do you think Pat? I'll let it go.
Pat Fitz Morris
Yeah, I, I agree with you. If it's going to take 20, I'm. I'm pretty much out even if I need the immediate.
Dbro
Patty, do you think it's going to take 20 because that's kind of where I'm at considering the 16 targets. Yeah, I'm not saying I agree with.
Pat Fitz Morris
It but I mean so in our waiver wire article we always offer three bids. A true value bid, a desperate need bid. If you badly need a player, you need to get this guy and a budget minded bid where you're just kind of price enforcing maybe trying to get a player on the cheap. Our desperate need bid for Marquis Brown is $16 and I think that's a pretty good limit. Like I wouldn't want to go over that for.
Dbro
Yeah, same same. Which means we're probably not going to get a lot of exposure to him. Like I'd rather take the cheaper options of like if Thielen sitting out there or juju for like zero.
Pat Fitz Morris
Agreed.
Joe P
Fair enough. All right, let's move on to the running backs here and let's talk about those guys and I'm gonna bring up somebody that I again I can feel the YouTube comments. This guy's rostered in all my leagues already. I get it, bro. I get it. Stop. Relax, okay? There's other leagues where he's not and I can prove it with something called roster percentage. Okay? So just chill. Dylan Sampson 52% rostered for the Cleveland Browns in sleeper leagues. Now you have to understand sleeper has a lot of dynasty formats too in it. So a lot of people are playing dynasty there. So those percentages are always typically a little higher. But on sleeper he's just 46 rostered. And I feel like the Quinn Sean Judkins signing might have also had a lot of people in this first week. Maybe dropping Sampson, looking for other things on the waiver wire on even the weekend and then probably immediately regretting it afterwards because Sampson looked very sharp in that game and he is a player of note and a prospect of note. So Dbro, let's talk about Sampson. Let's say you're at a 10 team league because I think that's also something that you're seeing the Ross percentage a little bit under where it should be based upon. You know, yahoo has more 10 team leagues and say sleeper might. So talk to me about that situation here with Dylan Sampson and what you think this backfield is going to look like because we still don't have guarantees. Quinn Sean Judkins, remember, still has to meet with the NFL and probably is going to get some sort of disciplinary action. You might not see him till week eight or God knows when potentially too. Let's not pretend like all is just well there with this backfield and Judkin. So talk to me about Samson for a minute.
Dbro
I mean dude, it was very encouraging to see his usage. I mean to out carry Jerome Ford in the first game of the season. I didn't see that coming. I thought he was going to play on passing downs. I didn't see the early down share with him lead the team in carries. I mean dude, he got 20 total opportunities. He had 93 total yards and I'm not telling everybody that. Okay, the eight targets, the almost 18% target share, that's not going to probably replicate week over week over week. But still we know he's the passing down back in this offense. That is was emphatically true. And if he's going to also have the early down stuff. Yes, to your point Joe, like I'm not sold. When do we see Quinn Sean Judkins like this is also a player like cool. He signed his contract, he's still dealing with disciplinary stuff. The investigation's still going on.
Joe P
He missed all of training Camp, all of training camp. That's what I keep trying to tell people. Like bro, that takes a long time.
Dbro
Well dude, the other part about it too is like, and this is what I keep kind of like going back to. If Cleveland tries to ramp him up too fast for a player that missed all like he has not been involved in anything since minicamp. And I'm not saying he's like sitting on the couch like crushing Funyuns and stuff, but still there's a difference between being in gym shape and football shape. And we see how many of these guys ramp up too quickly and then pop like a hammy or something like that because the ramp up is too quick. So like with Samson, he's the leader of the backfield, dude. Like he could be the leader of the backfill for most of this season. And even if he's not the leader of the backfield, we know he will have a standalone role on this team and in this offense. So as a viable flex play, especially in PPR leagues like sure, Dylan Sampson, do your best. Duke Johnson, dude, you could be an RB2, RB3 on a weekly basis. Strong flex play, like I think 12 to 15% is probably warranted.
Joe P
And yes, if he's out there in.
Dbro
Yahoo leagues like you're in 10 teamers or eight teamers and stuff, pick him up. Drop your kicker, drop your defense. Go ahead, get the added RB depth. Because if nothing else, there's a lot of teams that are hurting like all my Kenneth Walker teams right now. What am I doing with those players?
Joe P
Oh, we'll get to that. Oh true. I'm sure the live stream will have a long conversation about that on Tuesday. Pat, you're in gym shape and football shape. Talk to me about Dylan Sampson if you would for a second here. And what he means is Cleveland backfield and to 10 team leaguers too who are out there and he might be on the waiver wire how aggressive they should be on him.
Pat Fitz Morris
Yeah, I'm, I'm maybe a little less bullish on Dylan Sampson than DBRO is.
Joe P
Okay.
Pat Fitz Morris
You know, I maybe quinch on Judkins is going to get like a three game suspension. Although I don't know how the NFL would suspend him when there were no charges filed in this case. We'll see about that. I mean that's legal stuff I probably shouldn't be speculating on since I do not have a law degree. But here's the thing that worries me a little bit. Brown's running backs yesterday had 21 carries for it looks like 40 yards, 21 for 40 under 2 yards per carry against the Cincinnati Bengals. So I don't know what sort of role we can count on for Sampson in this running game. I don't know how effective that running game is going to be. I know the Browns aren't going to score a lot of points. The one thing that is encouraged is that he got eight targets, caught all of them and had 64 yards. Like I, I thought Jerome Ford might be the passing down back. No, sir. Dylan Sampson was clearly the passing down back. Ford had one target, one catch for negative three yards. So that does give Sampson a little bit of a safer floor and some standalone value perhaps. Although, I mean, even, even without Judkins back, I think it's real marginal flex value for Samson. So I'm not putting down a big bid here. A modest one, but not a big one.
Joe P
Okay, let's move on to the next player. So also kind of in that same vein as Samson, a guy that probably is rostered in a lot of your leagues, but if he's floating out there, Trey Benson, 54, rostered on sleeper leagues and in Yahoo, just 39. And after yesterday, Pat Debro, I think we should all be rostering Trey Benson if he's still floating out there. Is that a hard agree for everybody? We don't have to talk too much about this one. I think it's pretty obvious. Okay, so again, we're just trying to help everybody here. The people in the shallow leagues and the people in the deep leagues too. Don't worry, there's gonna be some 5 percenters here coming up in just a second. You're gonna love it. Okay, for all of you nerds out there, let's get to so Samson Benson off the docket. Let's talk about Kyle Menangai. We're not going to see the Bears till tonight. We're recording this. But 14 rostered and then Kenneth Gainwell, 5% roster. Now these are two guys lower down on the trough that are still floating around there if you need some running back depth. Gainwell we did see yesterday. So Pat, look, the Caleb Johnson situation, we're gonna talk in a second because I think he's going to be one of the most dropped guys. I'm gonna buy low everywhere where he still is rostered. I'm gonna pick him up where everybody drops him. I'm not gonna believe in Kenneth Gainwell, but after yesterday's game, I don't believe enough in Jalen Warren necessarily to say that I'm done with Caleb Johnson. But I think a lot of people will be reactionary to that. Talk to me about what you saw to Kev Gainwell. Do you think he's more viable in fantasy leagues? You think this is just one of those week one wonders.
Pat Fitz Morris
He has been number two all along in the preseason for Pittsburgh. And you wonder when Arthur Smith might flip the switch and turn to Caleb Johnson, who gives them something I think that neither Jalen Warren nor Kenneth Gainwell do in that backfield. A little bit of a power edge. But Gainwell's been a pretty effective back for the Eagles in a very limited role and now he's getting more than a limited role. I just. Do you really want to try to predict Arthur Smith's running back usage from week to week? That's. That's the issue I have with the.
Joe P
Same idiotic Arthur Smith that was playing Dion Lewis in a handcuff situation. Derek with in a timeshare back in Tennessee with Derek Henry. Derek Henry. What are we doing here Arthur Smith.
Pat Fitz Morris
So I mean that's the thing. So maybe Kenneth Gainwell's role persists for a while and he has more value than we anticipate. But I'm. I'm not really, I'm not really eager to ever want to make the decision to put Kenneth Gainwell in my lineup. Joe is what it comes down to. And if you don't want to start a player, you probably should not spend valuable fab money on him.
Joe P
Debro, talk to me about your thoughts on Gainwell and then any love for a common guy like trying to get ahead of things maybe tonight, you know, just kind of stash them for, you know, cheap if you've got roster space, if you're available to do that. And because Roshan Johnson hasn't been healthy all camp, Manon guys has some injuries too but we've always seen that, you know Ben Johnson likes to use multiple RBs so DeAndre Swift can't be the only guy probably being used in that backfield tonight.
Dbro
Yeah, you need to be getting ahead of it with Kyle Menon guy. Like I think he is going to be the RB2, if not already the RB2. Like what press clipping have we seen about Roshan Johnson the entirety of the preseason and training camp they literally have not talked about him at all. Nothing. So I think looking at it from also fading DeAndre Swift. Like I was all out on him in the off season and so you need to be adding him. Absolutely. But the other part about this is yes did the game well stuff I'm not Adding him off waivers. Like, I understand he got 10 opportunities. I understand he played 53% of the snaps. I don't think any of this persists like in the long term. And I'm not saying that like Arthur Smith isn't going to Arthur Smith hard. I mean, dude, we saw John who getting his same usage. We saw Pat Fryermuth shoved into basically nothingness yesterday. So Arthur Smith is going to Arthur Smith. But the other thing we also saw is the Pittsburgh Steelers had no run game to speak of yesterday against the Jets. So Gainwell's not going to change that. Like, I, I just look at this as yes, pick up Caleb Johnson every single place that you possibly can. People are going to drop him. To your point, Joe, and I'm not going to waste a dollar of fab on Kenneth Gainwell.
Joe P
I'm just not. I know we don't like to drop running backs, especially this early in the year, but was there another name? I just think Caleb Johnson is going to be the most dropped guy.
Dbro
Oh, he's the most dropped.
Joe P
Is there any debate there, Fitzy, or do you think it's going to be somebody else? You know, that could be in that range too, that might get dropped this week that you should pay attention to.
Pat Fitz Morris
No, I think a lot of people are going to spike drop Caleb Johnson after his minimal usage. But you know, that's he headlines the don't drop list in our waiver wire article this week. Like they spent a third round pick on this guy. I know. I don't know if it's just sort of the old school make the rookie earn it thing.
Dbro
Yep.
Pat Fitz Morris
But I think eventually he's going to earn it and have a role in this backfield. It's just how patient can you afford to be? But like right now, it's early in the season. Didn't really have any major running back injuries in week one. So if you don't have to drop him, don't drop him.
Joe P
All right, let's talk about the wide receivers before we do shout out to our sponsor who are very excited to have Hard Rock bets. Now everybody knows the Hard Rock Hotels and Casino brand. Joe P
So that was my other big Colts takeaway.
Matt Jones
They sold that?
Pat Fitz Morris
Yes.
Matt Jones
Might want to go back to the drawing room at the Colts Stadium.

Yeah, I might want to go back to the drawing board on that.

Podcasts coming up now are wide receivers, so let's discuss them, gentlemen. And let's start with a guy that Jake Sealey and I were talking about last week on the Stash short. If you missed it, go back and check the receipts. We tried to help you and luckily the roster percentage didn't move all that much. But the needle has moved on Cedric Tillman. So 34 rostered. I want to talk about him first because Tillman had a game where he had 52 yards receiving on five receptions. He had one receiving touchdown in that game, too. He looked good. He looked like he had a good connection with Flacco and everybody's always questioned the Judy Flacco connection. That's why I have so much investment late in Cedric Tillman. You guys are in leagues with me. You know how that is. I've got him everywhere. So, Debro, let's talk about Cedric Tillman and what it might look like as we get further down the road here as he evolves in this role with Flacco in this Browns offense.
Dbro
I mean, I think he had a really solid week one. I. I'm probably lower on con on Cedric Tillman than consensus just because, dude, they had so many drop backs and that could continue. I'm not saying that it can't because they're going to be losing. They're going to throw a lot. But the last year and this year, the tons of passing attempts covered up some pretty mediocre, like, market share stuff like Cedric Tillman last or yesterday. I mean, yes, he got the eight targets. He tied for the team lead. That was only a 17.7 target share. He had 1.13 yards per route run. He had the 52 receiving yards. So it was a solid day. I'm not saying that it's not. The touchdown definitely kind of puts it over the top. He could continue with this, but, like, it's just not a guy that I am enamored with it probably as much as other people are because there is Joe, to your point, there's a Cedric Tillman hive out there. So, like, I'm willing to spend like 5 or 10%. Like, you know, I think he could be like a usable flex play, but I'm not like over the moon on him.
Joe P
Well, Pat, what do you think about this take? Jake and I were talking about this on the waiver wire short this morning before we came here to do the podcast, which was Fannin's presence in that Week one game along with Njoku's presence kind of hurts some of those intermediate targets where Jerry Judy tended to eat last year. And that opens up the deep ball stuff for Cedric Tillman. And we know deep ball. Joe Flacco likes to do that. So I thought that was a pretty good process statement there by Jake. What do you think about that in terms of Cedric Tillman's value going into the waiver wire this week?
Pat Fitz Morris
Yeah, I agree with that take and you know, to Debro's point, yes, the Falcon or Flacco and the the Bronze threw a ton of passes yesterday. The pass volume is always heavy with Flacco though. That's just how an offense rolls with Joe Flacco at quarterback. So I think we're going to continue to see a lot of that. The one splash of cold water I have for the Cedric Tillman enthusiasts is upcoming schedule at Baltimore Green Bay at Detroit, Minnesota. That's a pretty tough run of defenses there.
Joe P
I don't know. Kind of watch that Baltimore Ravens defense kind of fall apart last night right in front of my eyes. Just saying.
Dbro
I I guess I need to is this the part where I own up and I give a little respect to the packers cornerbacks? As bad as I talked about them previously, Patty, you know what, they play good. I mean dude, like the Lions look lost yesterday.
Joe P
Gotta own you know what the Lions look like. And I said this all off season dbro. They look like a team that lost two coordinators. And that's something that every year we.
Dbro
People are really a problem.
Joe P
I tried to talk about that every time we talked about the Lions and say hey look what happened. The Eagles lost all those coordinators. Like it's just, it's struggle bus. It's tough to lose one offensive coordinator, let alone offensive coordinator and your passing assistant guy and the defensive coordinator. They just a lot of turnover in one year for a team, especially a team that hasn't won anything yet. Sorry Lions fans. All right, let's talk about the well, it feels like is what happens in the fall, right? Pumpkin spice latte season comes back around Halloween, decorations come out and Quentin Johnston's on the waiver wire and we talk about him just kind of like what happens. So he is of course 9% roster. Quentin Johnston had himself a day, let's be honest. Five catches on seven targets for two touchdowns. Fun. I, you know, went back in time again. Just kind of bringing this over from the other show because it was funny and I went and found out more about it. So I wanted to bring this year. I don't know if you remember 2012, September 5th, it was Kevin Ogletree of the Dallas Cowboys having two touchdowns and everybody running to the waiver wire to pick him up.
Dbro
Name I haven't heard.
Joe P
And after we had this discussion and Jake made that comment, I came back around. I was looking at it and one of the headlines, I kid you not, Tony Romo threw for three touchdowns, two to newfound favorite receiver Kevin Ogletree. I Don't think he ended up being the favorite receiver. Just putting that out there. So look, we've been here guys before with the Quentin Johnson stuff. Now you can look at this two ways. He has realized that they are ready to replace him. They bring in Keenan Allen, they drafted Trey Harris, he realizes he's on borrowed time and he is stepping up his game and figuring things out finally. Or this is just your classic one off big game from Quentin Johnson. It just so happens in week one where everybody hyperventilates, freaks out and overspends on it. So Pat, Fitz, Morris, which circumstance is it?
Pat Fitz Morris
Can I go halfway in between, Joe?
Joe P
You can, you can. I. I'll hear it. I, I don't have my, my judge's wig, but I do have my gavel, so I, I'll allow it to fantasy court.
Dbro
Did you retire the judge's wig? Was it time to sit?
Joe P
Well, I mean, you know, you want to make sure you put everything to rest, put it away for a little while.
Pat Fitz Morris
So he played a healthy number of snaps, ran a healthy number of routes, counts now over. Since the Beginning of the 2024 season, Quentin Johnston has scored 10 touchdowns in his last 16 games. He is big and fast. We know he is really dangerous with the ball in his hands. It's just, you know, the getting into a new his hands part that can sometimes be a little bit of an issue. Not the most reliable guy, but he looked pretty clean catching the ball against the Chiefs. The only thing I worry about is that, you know, Justin Herbert had 34 pass attempts in that game. And the cheat, the Chargers had running back rushing attempts, which is not exactly the Greg Roman MO type of game. And I just, I wonder how much of that was matchup based. And the Chiefs always have this really impregnable run defense and Roman just saying, okay, we're not going to beat our heads against that wall. We're going to throw the ball on this team. And that maybe makes the final target and catch count for Quentin Johnston look better than it might be in the weeks to come.
Joe P
You know, I was very public about this too offseason, which is looking at Justin Herbert and saying, like, I think everybody forgot how good he was. And last year was a new offense and last year he didn't have Austin Eckler to help pad the stats a little bit. And now is the second year in an offense and I think there's every reason to believe that I think he could buck the trend that everybody thinks where it says, well, it's Greg Roman and we're never going to throw the ball and all that stuff. I, I think you're going to see a lot more of these kind of scenarios with Herbert personally. So I understand that, you know, to make a replacements reference here, he has a bit of, Was it, what's his name, Clifford Franklin, right, who couldn't catch a football, right? He was like, you know, so Franklin's gonna catch a football because Clifford Franklin knows Orlando Jones. Great performance in the replacements. Love that performance. But that's Quentin Johnson, right, The wide receiver who can't catch the football. You can get open, you can do all these things, but he caught the football and he caught two touchdowns, and everyone's gonna run to the waiver wire to pick him up. So, dbro, what's the best course of action here when it comes to qj?
Dbro
Dude, I'm, I'm, I feel like I'm gonna cut a 180 here. I was out on QJ the entire off season, and it's not the one game that's getting me. It's, it's what he did in the one game that I thought was impressive and adding to what he did last year. I mean, I ignored and I think a lot of us did. I mean, come on, we all saw that, like, everything throughout training camp was, QJ's doing this, QJ's catching that. He's having awesome practice after awesome, awesome practice. And I was like, oh, it's Quentin Johnson. It's. It's Harbaugh. Whatever, man. Like, dude, what he did in week one was, was impressive. Like, I know he got a 20 target share, but 2.1 yards per route run, a 24 first reach here. And the thing for me, like, when you look at, even like you pop open the hood, you look at the deeper numbers. He had a 30.6 route win rate in week one. I, I think this is more real than fiction here now. I, I, and, and dude, I was surprised. Like, again, the thing about it with, with, to your point with Greg Roman, what, what, what really got me about this offense, I saw like a, a wide range of outcomes in the off season. Like, I was tweeting about this, like, in the off season, and I'm like, this offense either goes back to being everything that we've always thought with Greg Roman or maybe they do go pass heavy. Because I was like, if you look back even to last year, everybody's like, oh, it was because the running back injuries and, and that's why they passed more and stuff. Can we also talk about, like, Justin Herbert is the best pure passer that Greg Roman's ever run an offense for. Colin Kaepernick, Rod Taylor, Lamar Jackson, early career.
Joe P
So like, early Lamar?
Dbro
Yeah, like if we were to ever even just like in a bubble, say Greg Roman has an eight or nine game sample where he was. They were pass heavy. Everybody would say, you're full of it. You're crazy. And now we saw it again. Week one, like, guys like, like in neutral scripts. In week one, the Chargers threw at a 65 clip. Even when they were leading, they threw the ball 74 of the time. And I'm not saying that the, the leading part doesn't change because I do believe that Hampton's gonna get his run, especially when they're salting games away. I think that was more game script or game matchup specific. But the neutral script stuff, this might be a pass first offense this year. And all the Greg Roman stuff could get flipped on its head yet again from what we saw last year to this year. So qj, man, like, I'm actually coming in here saying we need to be more aggressive on this. Like if he stays healthy, even if there's like an injury to Keenan Allen, because, I mean, look, he's getting older. I don't want him to get hurt. But look, aging wide receivers don't have less soft tissue stuff as they age. So I hope he does stay healthy. But Quentin Johnston, I'm more on the aggressive side, like 12, 15. I think this is more real than faith.
Joe P
All right. He is just under 10 rostered right now too. So QJ's available. And if you're hurting a wide receiver, you know, then this is a spot you might want to consider and it could bust out. You know, Fitzy. Fitzy and I have seen this show before, but Debro makes a lot of good points of why it might be better. And sometimes when your job is threatened, it does change your perspective and your work ethic and what you're willing to put in in terms of time to get better at your job. A couple guys too under 25 roster to talk about Romeo Dobbs, Calvin Austin of the Pittsburgh Steelers. And I'm gonna talk about him again. Elek Ayo Manor, 25 rostered as well right now. Now, Ayo Manor didn't do a lot in terms of, you know, return on investment on some of the targets, but he saw a lot of targets. Dbro, and to me, AO Manor is the most intriguing one because I think he is right now the number two guy. And you knew it was going to be a slog. And a tough situation there for Cam Ward going into Denver in week one was going to be a disaster for him. I think things can only get better for him going forward. He might be a guy you can sneak into waiver wire for like one or two bucks, and I think he'll be a very productive player the rest of the season. What do you think?
Dbro
Yeah, I agree, man. I think you take this batch of receivers and you put out like one to two dollar bids. Whoever you get, you get. And you know, if you don't get any of them, you don't lose any sleep. I do think that Ellic is probably near the top. I put him and Romeo Dobbs at the top of, like, you know, this little bucket of receivers. Like, I'm not. Again, I don't want to invest in the Calvin Austin stuff. Like, look, it was encouraging to see him play 80% of the snaps, but I don't think that he. I think this is going to be DK Metcalf and then everybody else is a weekly. Who the heck are you feeling comfortable about? Romeo Dobbs? Like, he was awesome. It was good. Led the team in 68 receiving yards. But if we're gonna get the version of the packers for most of the year where they only throw 22 freaking times and it gets spread across five different receivers and then you got five guys running at least 10 to 15 routes, is that really gonna do anything for anybody? So I, I agree with Alex. Probably the top of this as far as just raw target volume moving forward, but this is the, the, you know, shotgun approach to waiver wire. Like, put in like two to three dollars worth of fab bids. And whoever you get, you get. And if you miss out on them, don't lose sleep.
Joe P
For you. Patty Dobbs, Austin, AO Manor, any of those guys intriguing to you?
Pat Fitz Morris
I'm intrigued by Austin, who almost looks like he could have a Randall Cobb type role for Aaron Rodgers. Like, I, I think maybe there could be a little more usage there than, you know, I. I don't know if it's just going to be DK Metcalf and the ensemble cast. Like, I think Austin could become the two. Oh, sorry. I was just gonna say you can miss me on Dobbs with that committee usage at wide receiver. And some of us on this show not named Derrick Brown thought Ayo Manor was a better prospect than Trey Harris.
Joe P
Ah, ah. That's a perfect segue, you know.
Dbro
Landed with Tennessee, sir.
Joe P
I was where Patty was on Amenor. I drafted him in my Dynasty leagues. I got him really late in the fifth round in those leagues, too. He was just floating around there, physical receiver, man receiver. A guy that I thought could grow. And. And it seemed like a good situation to come in with a rookie qb because sometimes when those guys come in together, right, like we saw Stroud and. And Tank Dell, right? Sometimes the guy's like, yeah, like, they come in together. They were minicamp together, they're hanging out together. They build rapport together because they're the newbies, right? They're, you know, they kind of bond. It's, you know, these are those things that it, you know, aren't in between the lines that matter, and they've mattered to a lot of guys. Now, speaking of Trey Harris, because of Quentin Johnson, because of Keenan Allen's performance, it feels like he's a guy. It's on that drop wire. Would you agree with that? And should people be dropping Trey Harris?
Pat Fitz Morris
Pat, he's Quentin Johnston's backup. So, yes, okay, I like him for Dynasty, but for Redraft, he has no value.
Joe P
Okay, dbro, another guy. I'm saying he could get dropped. I'm not saying he's going to, but week one was not very encouraging. Big name Cooper cup, you think people are going to start dropping him potentially after week one, just be like, nope, I'm sour. I'm done already after that. I mean, after last year, first two years, and then after week one, patience is running thin. Three targets, two receptions for 15 yards. Your thoughts?
Dbro
I mean, it depends on who you're dropping him for. And I'm not gonna say that.
Joe P
Would you drop them for QJ right now?
Dbro
I would.
Joe P
That.
Dbro
That's exactly what I was gonna say. I was actually like. In my head, I was like, all right, I'm gonna pose that when he brings it up. But no, dude, exactly. I would be dropping it for qj. Like, you see a game where Sam Darnold goes out and he throws for so, like, one. A buck fifty and Cooper cup gets three targets. That's. It's concerning, man. Like, any way that you play this, it doesn't really come out really well for. For Cooper Cup. Yes, I would drop cup for qj. And that might be, I don't know, a hot take. I don't know what guys.
Joe P
Oh, it's hot Takey. It's hot Takey. They can feel the YouTube comments now. Fitzy, how about you? Do you think it's hot Takey? Would you rather have rest of season QJ or Cooper cup, people?
Pat Fitz Morris
I put him on Our do not drop list. I wish I could say I was like really firmly committed to not dropping him. I'm not sure I am. I guess the one thing that has me holding on is that he actually played more snaps than Jackson, Smith and Jigba yesterday. Like they, they want him to be the starting receiver. I don't know if it was just circumstances or whatever, but like I want to give it maybe one more game.
Dbro
If it's a QJ or cup, tell me.
Pat Fitz Morris
Oh, qj. Qj.
Dbro
Okay.
Joe P
See, I'm not that crazy.
Dbro
There we go.
Joe P
I don't. I don't think it's crazy either. Well, you're also talking about the offensive ecosystem being very different. Herbert, Sammy Darnold. Herbert or Darnold. This is easy for me. So that to me it's a no brainer. And I think people will be sitting there going much, especially the good fantasy player will be sitting there much more measured the way pathetic Morris is discussing it, which is, all right, it's one week. Let's not go crazy. But QJ's out there and if you're in regular waivers and you have a spot where you can change them out for Quentin Johnson, I mean a manor. I don't know if you're ready to do that quite yet, but I would be, but I'm. I always like to get ahead of the curve on these kind of things. Now we're gonna look at quarterback, tight end, defense and kicker. So already it's not bye weeks already, but maybe there's some guys that you don't feel great about running out there for a week two and maybe we can help you with some of those. Let's talk about your favorite streaming QB for week two, Pat Fitzmorris, let's start with you.
Pat Fitz Morris
It's a rough week for streaming quarterbacks because some of the guys people are itching to pick up like Daniel Jones, he goes against the Denver Broncos. Joe Flacco, who you're going to get passing volume with, he goes against the Baltimore Ravens. So I know you can get this guy for a dollar after he laid an egg. I'm going to go with Bryce Young. He goes at Arizona. I don't think it helped Bryce Young that they had like a 90 minute weather delay. It doesn't in that game. So. But he, he did provide 40 rushing yards and I think he's going to have better passing days than he had in week one.
Joe P
I like that buyback in and I like the fact you brought up that delay was very long, very difficult to come back from. D RO give me a QB you feel good about streaming in week two.
Dbro
Geno Smith man, the the Las Vegas Raiders are apparently going to be pass heavy this year. Yesterday in neutral scripts they threw it a 68 clip boys. Gino looked good. 362 passing yards, 10.6 yards per attempt. Ah, you know the Chargers are going to push the Raiders here. They're going to have to throw the ball and they look very willing to do so. So Chino Smith, fire him up.
Joe P
Debra let's talk about a tight end to stream this week and I know the name on your list is one that I think is really intriguing actually because if you consider the the bad quarterback play in New Orleans.
Dbro
Right.
Joe P
Or the limited quarterback play, let's put it kindly, and the health of the wide receivers in that room. I think Juwan Johnson's an interesting pickup. Not just a stream but maybe even a stash. If you just don't love how you ended up at tight end this year.
Dbro
Oh absolutely. Or if you're dealing with a George Kittle injury or Brock Powers injury.
Joe P
Like great.
Dbro
Yeah all of these other injuries, man, like tight end kind of quietly got decimated in week one.
Joe P
Well it seems like Bauer says no big deal, I'm good. But the kiddo one, I'm expecting Tim to miss a month like that.
Dbro
Yeah, that, that, that's possible. And the Bowers thing, we're still kind of waiting on confirmation. Seems like mcl so like one to two weeks. But, but Juwan Johnson, I don't, I don't think anybody here would have been Expecting myself included a 23 target share like for him to come out there and he was behind targets behind only Chris Olave. And then we, we know they're going to play the 49ers. So like say what you will about all the 49ers injuries, speaking of them, but they're going to put up points. The Saints are going to be trailing and Spencer Rattler is going to be throwing a ton in this game. So Juwan Johnson. Yeah. Pick him up. Stream him this week, especially if you're dealing with injuries at tight end.
Joe P
Yeah, there's no more Taysom Hill to worry about. Right. Because of his injury. So. You know, Joanne Johnson has flashed some moments over the years, but the usage was the problem because Taysom Hill, when he started to get into those red zone areas, he became the gimmick guy. So usually tight ends end up gaining value when they get to the red zone. He was one of the few that lost it because once you got down there, it was all the gimmick plays and Taysom Hill stuff and all these other, you know, packages they put out there. Pat, who's a streaming tight end for you in week two?
Pat Fitz Morris
Oh, I'm gonna need one. I have so much Brock Bowers, George Kittle and at least one share of Evan Ingram. So this week my, yeah, Ingram, my target is going to be Brenton Strange who had four catches for a team high 59 yards for the Jaguars in week one. And in week two gets a matchup against the Bengals, who gave up 111 catches like I think 1100 yards and 10 touchdowns to tight ends last year and were pretty much smacked around by the Harold Fan and David Najoku combo in week one.
Joe P
All right, so in week two, Fitz, he's going to tame some strange and then he's going to give me a defense that we want to talk about in week two. Who do you want to stream on? D?
Pat Fitz Morris
Yeah, let's go with Seattle and they are going to be at least a two week play for me because they get a matchup against the Steelers. I know Aaron Rodgers had a pretty good game, but he took four sacks in that game and looked completely immobile.
Joe P
He took one pre rough to that.
Pat Fitz Morris
I think Mike McDonald has a great defense in Seattle. Like the personnel is really good. And oh, by the way, in week three, Seattle gets a home date against the New Orleans Saints.
Joe P
There you go. All right, streaming defense for week two. D Bro, you're up 49ers.
Dbro
I know that they are not an amazing defense but they play the freaking Saints man. And to Patty's point like you could get multiple weak utility out of them. Like afterwards they have a divisional game with Arizona which we always know divisional games are probably low scoring. So a little bit in the mud and then they get Jacksonville who did not look great in week one. So you can get multi week utility out of San Francisco.
Joe P
All right, give me a kicker DBRO for this week to stream.
Dbro
I mean start all your Ravens including their kicker Tower Loop. Come on down.
Joe P
Yeah, let's go. There you go doing the loop. All right. Fitzy, how about you? Who's a kicker?
Pat Fitz Morris
Yeah, if you can't get loop go for the old man Matt Prater 3 for 3 with the Bills in his debut for them and you know like Baltimore, the Bills were flying up and down the field last night. They're going to put a points this year.
Joe P
Corre crazy game last night. Just crazy. Unbelievable. Super fun. We we. It was weird because the day was bookended by like one of the oddest fun games that you never saw coming where the the total was like by the time it kickoff 36 and a half. And yet the jets and Steelers somehow found a way to amuse me beyond belief even though I lost money on the under. And then that night bookended by a game that was just crazy where you get, you know, 75 points. Unbelievable. Super fun there. All right, let's get to more of the waiver wire ads. Before we do, just a quick reminder, use Waiver central over fantasypros. Do my playbook. Sync your leagues for free. If you need more help on the waiver wire to see who's out there who can help you, download the Fantasy Pros app. It's free. It's fun. Use the tools. Don't be a tool. Waiver Central is one of those that can help add the right players to your roster. So use the tools over at my playbook again. Download the Fantasy Pros app today. All right, let's talk about waiver wire ads for those people still doing it the old fashioned way, not with fabs. So let's rank them. Dbro, give me your top five ads for week two.
Dbro
I'll go number one. Just helping people in the short term. Hollywood Brown 2 is QJ 3 is Dylan Sampson 4 a name we have not mentioned at this point, but he's out there in a ton of leagues. Adam Thielen has good matchups. Again, if you're hurting a wide receiver against Atlanta and Cincinnati after he plays the Bears. And the number five I'll go with Juwan Johnson.
Joe P
All right, Fitzy, your top five for week two.
Pat Fitz Morris
All right. I'm going with Hollywood Brown number one by far, changing on the fly a bit. Kyle Manangai is going to be number two. I like oh I, I definitely want to take a flyer on this kid. He was a warrior at Rutgers and man like he just has a tackle breaking component that I don't think DeAndre Swift has. So I would not be surprised if he passed Swift at some point. I'll go Dylan Sampson at number three if you're desperate. You know there is that standalone value maybe because of his passing game usage. Quentin Johnston at four. Number five, Harold Fannin whose usage was really eye opening in Week one. And look, I am obviously very intrigued by a tight end who led FBS last year in receptions with 117 and yardage with 1,555. And like the fact that the Browns were dedicated to using him pretty extensively in Week one like Harold Fannon. I want to, I want to get in on the ground floor of this.
Joe P
I agree. And it's always tough with those kids from the smaller schools too because like you know, they get judged fairly. They're like well he was really good but what was the competition like? And then they get to the NFL and then they perform and you go oh, I guess he is just really talented. So as Debro alluded to earlier, lots of tight end injuries fan and absolutely a guy I think worth adding and could have some long term returns as well. And I'm so happy to hear you speaking so nicely about my Jersey boy Kyle Manang guy too because I remember in July doing all those drafts and as last pick I'm taking manang guy all over the place and I hope it's true because again he was pretty much my last pick everywhere. So. So fingers crossed. We'll watch tonight and I'm sure we'll come back on Tuesday and talk about that and all the other waiver wire ads. Who's your big ad of the week? Drop your comments below because it just might win yourself that big old trophy from trophy smack that we're giving away Again like the stream. Episode: Has Quentin Johnston Finally Arrived? | Fantasy Football Week 2 Waiver Wire: Must-Have Players to Add to Your Roster (Ep. 1694)
Date: September 8, 2025
Host: Joe Pisapia ("Joey P")
Analysts: Derek Brown ("Dbro"), Pat Fitzmaurice ("Fitzy")
This packed Waiver Wire edition dives into the top moves for fantasy football Week 2. The team weighs in on headline-grabbing Week 1 performances, debate how aggressively managers should spend FAAB on trendy adds (especially Quentin Johnston and Hollywood Brown), and identify smart pickups and sneaky stashes for varied league types. The hosts bring their usual blend of in-depth analysis and friendly banter while breaking down usage, upside, and risk profiles for every key waiver candidate. They also include actionable streaming options for quarterback, tight end, defense, and kicker as lineups and bye weeks begin to bite.
Dylan Sampson:
Trey Benson: Briefly mentioned as a strong stash if available—universal "go get him" in all leagues.
Deep Cuts: Kyle Monangai (Bears RB), Kenneth Gainwell
Other WRs discussed
Dbro’s Top 5 Waiver Adds for Week 2 (46:30)
Fitzy’s Top 5 (46:50)
On Quentin Johnston's sudden upside
"What he did in week one was impressive… 2.1 yards per route run, 24% first read share, 30.6% route win rate… I think this is more real than fiction here now. I was surprised."
— Dbro, (30:59)
On Hollywood Brown's short window
"A lot of those receptions were just short, nothing burgers… you don’t want him taking those shots. But it seems like he’s going to fit into that role."
— Pat Fitzmaurice (04:06)
On dropping Cooper Kupp for Quentin Johnston
"Would you drop him for QJ right now?"
"I would… You see a game where Sam Darnold goes out and throws for a buck fifty and Cooper Kupp gets three targets. That’s concerning, man."
— Joe P and Dbro (37:54)
On fantasy patience
"People will be much more measured the way Pat Fitzmaurice is discussing it, which is, all right, it’s one week. Let’s not go crazy."
— Joe P (39:03)
| Player | Pos | Reason to Add | Aggressiveness / Bid | |-----------------------|-----|--------------------------|--------------------------| | Hollywood Brown | WR | Short-term WR1 upside | 16–20% if desperate | | Quentin Johnston | WR | Possible breakout, high TD rate | 12–15% if you need upside | | Dylan Sampson | RB | Flex-worthy volume+PPR | 10–15% | | Kyle Monangai | RB | Potential RB2 stash, deeper leagues | Low-moderate | | Juwan Johnson | TE | Surprising target share, red-zone role | 5–8% | | Harold Fannin | TE | Unique college profile, usage | Low-moderate |
The analysts urge measured but proactive waiver action: be aggressive for immediate-impact guys if you’re 0-1 or have injury woes, but don’t blow your budget on one-week wonders. Tier your bids—best values may come from patient, budget-conscious stashing. If you’re searching for upside or needing a quick fix at WR/RB, this week’s crop offers real upside, led by Hollywood Brown (for now) and a possibly new-and-improved Quentin Johnston.
To paraphrase Joe P (39:03): Don’t panic after Week 1—but don’t miss your moment to get ahead of trends.
