The fantasy Pro's best bowl show is back. Myself, Tom Strachan and the mercurial Andrew Erickson next to me, we're going to be here live on Twitch every two weeks on Mondays at 2pm Eastern. Drafting, talking all things, best ball, everything that's happening in the NFL. Andrew, today we are drafting in the FFPC $35 Super Flex contest, $100,000 up top. This contest also tight end premium. So a lot of different ways to build which we're going to get into it. But this draft is about to get underway in a couple of minutes and to kick off best ball season, to kick off our return to the Fantasy Pros channel, you have the 101. Could it get any better?
Andrew Erickson
Could not get any better. The sun is hot. The best ball streets are live and ready to go. We've got this room all filled up. I am so stoked to be here, Tom, and I'm ready with the one on one arm to maybe ruffle some feathers here and there. Maybe not just go right right after the adp, but we shall see how things shake out.
Tom Strachan
Yeah, absolutely. I mean, this contest, you see a lot of different builds. I did a bunch of these pre draft in the same contest but a smaller format. I've done a bunch of these since the contest launched a few weeks ago and you came onto my channel, the fantasy sanctuary, which everyone could go and watch. We drafted a team together last week and we landed at 103, which is where I'm picking today. Last week you strongly campaigned for Drake May at 103 because of your conviction in him. We had a really fun draft, ended up with a quarterback room. I think it was Drake May, Cam Ward, and then we push things a little bit more and ended up with J.J. mcCarthy as our third quarterback. Really kind of leaning into those guys. So if you're going quarterback quarterback out of the gate on this one, do you envisage yourself pushing quarterback further on after that or do you think this is going to be one of those situations where quarterback ADP might lend to a double quarterback start?
Andrew Erickson
I think I'm going to probably push quarterback down the road. I think the greatest thing about the FFPC terms of the way that the scoring is formatted is there's a lot of other players that can potentially catch some of these quarterbacks when it comes to the scoring. You have the tight ends getting one and a half points per reception. You have full ppr. So wide receivers and running backs. I do think that those things matter when it comes to breaking down quarterbacks in the Super Flex format against the other positional players because they just can't lap the field as easily when you compare it to like a half PPR where quarterbacks just reign supreme and it really takes the elite of the elite skill position players to even close the gap. So I think that the FFPC does a great job of kind of flattening the scoring where the other positions actually do have an argument to be made like you should go this position because not just. Or you shouldn't be just going after Cordick because it is Super Flex. Because it's Super Flex with these other scoring adjustments which I really like.
Tom Strachan
Yeah, definitely. And we'll go into that in a second. You're going to be 10 seconds away from getting on the clock if this draft board doesn't look like this FFPC draft boards to you. That's because we are using Fantasy Pro's draft assistant. We've seen this up with FFPC draft. So now you can draft literally from within this room. You can see our rankings, you see the best available players, track what roster needs you've got, get pick by pick recommendations, you can select which rankings you want. It's all there for you. Everything you need in the draft assistant keeps you on the ball when you are on the clock. So whether you're drafting basketball Dynasty, Superflex, it's all there. Redraft, fantasypros.com Assistant Download Fantasy pros app, sync your draft and use a draft assistant to make smart picks in real time, which is what Andrew is about to do right now as this draft gets underway. 60 seconds per pick, so a little bit slower than some drafts out there. That just gives us more time to talk about these picks. And Andrew, you said you were going to ruffle some feathers straight away. You're going in with your boy Drake May followed by Bijan Robinson of 102. I mean Drake May over Josh Allen like I'm in Lamar Jackson Slappy like Big Ravens homer here, but I can't pass up Josh Allen when he falls to the 103. Make the case for why you would be drafting Drake May ahead of Josh Allen.
Andrew Erickson
Yeah, so I thought about this for a little bit of time because I was trying to think, man, am I just being a Patriots homer? Am I just trying to be a hot take artist by taking Drake May over Josh Allen? And at first I'm, I was thinking about capitulating here and being just, okay, just take Josh Allen. He's the one on one across Super Flex. I think we talked about this on your show where we were talking about the top four in Super Flex and I think I was, yeah, like take Josh Allen, don't really overthink it. But then I thought about his trajectory and right now when you look at Josh Allen, so much of his fantasy production and being the QB one has come from the rushing right, scoring double digigit rushing touchdowns seemingly every single season. And this is from the Coach Speak Index. Basically Joe Brady's view on Josh Allen as a physical runner. And he said, yeah, there's a going to come a time in his career where his legs aren't going to be able to do what they can do. He's going to have to become a true pocket passer. We're not there yet, so I don't think that the legs are going to fall off anytime soon. At least that's the opposite coordinator or the new head coach. Joe Brady is saying that now eventually it's going to happen. It happens to all these rushing quarterbacks as they start to age up, they do start to see that rushing production fall off. And maybe this is the year for that. For Josh Allen, maybe It is only eight rushing touchdowns instead of 15 or 14 rushing touchdowns. And maybe he falls off a little bit from that QB1 overall spot. You look at the passing numbers last year. Yeah, lows across the board, 215.8 passing yards per game, six year low. Touchdown passes 25. And his fantasy points from the passing were lower. Adding DJ Moore is obviously there to help boost the receiving numbers for Josh Allen. But the foot injury at the end of the season, he's playing Houston in week one. And the Bills offense last year was the league's healthiest offense. Who was the healthiest offense? 20, 24. I hate to remind you, Tom, but it was the Baltimore Ravens and what happened the following year, it. It wasn't good. So I feel like, yeah, maybe I'm stretching it a little bit here, but when I look at players that are still on the ascend. Drake May getting a player like AJ Brown who I think fits his skill set so perfectly to a T. You look at the splits with Jalen Hurts and A.J. brown on the field, Hurts. Before last year when things kind of got off the rails between A.J. brown and Jalen Hurts, Hurts was averaging nearly 23 fantasy points per game when A.J. brown was playing in those respective games, you had Romeo Dobbs to the fold. Patriots red zone offense ranks inside the top 10 this year instead of in the bottom five of the league like it was last year, I could see Drake may flirting with 35 or 40 passing touchdowns. So given that he also adds value as a rusher, I wouldn't be surprised if next time this year we're talking about, well, who's the one on one Superflex quarterback leagues, it's Drake May and he's the consensus one on one. So for all those reasons, that's why I went with Drake May. But again, I think it is very, very close and if I were drafting a bunch of these different teams, which we want to be doing here in Best Ball Summer, I will try to get some exposure to Josh Allen. But for now, still taking drag.
Tom Strachan
May yeah, I mean, look, I'm not going to push back too hard because I think there's always an argument to make for betting on ascending talent and betting on outcomes that we haven't seen before. It becomes too easy sometimes to just take the person who's done it. And Josh Allen has done it so consistently, like 41 Russian touchdowns over the last three years. It's a very comfortable click and I fully understand why some people don't want to do that. But look, we've done these drafts enough that I know that you're going to stand on your conviction. Jamar Chase, you had him as wide receiver 1 a couple of years ago and you were taking him ahead of, I think it was Justin Jefferson at the time. You made a convincing argument about the red zone stats, the reasons why you were doing it and it worked out well for you that year. So I'm not doing it simply because I think that from a best ball point of view I can have exposure of both at the moment. I think that, you know, Drake may have seen falls far as like 107 in this contest, but I'm not going to push back too heavily on a man standing on his convictions. Shout awesome Dev. And everyone else in the chat, awesome Dev. Really appreciate you being a subscriber over here on Twitch with us and dread s Buntingff and everyone else. You guys rock. We're a couple of picks away as this draft's kind of playing out pretty normally by these kind of standards. We had Drake May with Andrew Bijan, Robinson, Josh Allen, Jameer Gibbs, Jamar Chase, Puka, Nakua, Lamar Jackson, Jackson, Smith and Jigbear. CMC Jaden Daniels, Jonathan Taylor, Joe Burrow, Trey McBride. This is tight end premium Amon Ra Saint Brown, Brock Bowers, Ashton Genty, Jalen Hurts, Justin Jefferson, James Cook, C.D. lamb, Caleb Williams goes off just before me and then at the 103 I am back on the board. Now this is a little bit of a glut of quarterbacks in this kind of area of the draft and it can be really tempting to just hit that sort of double tap on quarterback, but historically in this contest that's been a strategy that's worked out really poorly. So I'm looking down at Devon A. Chan, Saquon, Barkley, Jackson, Dart, your boys Marion Hampton and Chase Brown. I'm going to go with Devon A. Chan here. I haven't drafted very much of him. I understand the arguments that he could possibly see less receiving work in this offense without tour checking down to him so much. But I think that there's also the possibility that having Malik Willis back there opens up so many more Russian lanes because the defense is having to actually account for a quarterback rather than just sitting back and just intercepting everything that TUA froze his way.
Andrew Erickson
All the two had turned the ball over. That's what he has been in recent years. Yeah HN is tricky for me because yes the boost in rushing efficiency, especially how efficient HN has already been as a rusher at the NFL level, I do really wonder what his target share is going to be. Yep, because of Willis not maybe checking the ball down but also the fact that the receivers that are there said besides Greg Dulcich are definitely not people that we're super excited about. So I'm on the clock now so I'm going to make my pick.
Tom Strachan
So staring down Justin Herbert, Amarine Hampton, Saquon Barkley, Kenneth Walker, according to the draft wizard, they're all the top picks in this one. What's going to be Andrew so I
Andrew Erickson
went with Omarion Hampton with my first pick at the 212 get my running back. It was a little bit of a running back run that you started. I was thinking about double clicking Chase Brown and Omarion Hampton, but Chase Brown ended up going to the 211 so now it's me staring at do I do double quarterback and just kind of lock up Herbert and Drake May, which I think I just, I, I love Justin Herbert so much this year. I think I'm just gonna do it honestly and not and see how I kind of have to catch up at the other positions at wide receiver specifically because I won't have that necessarily with a high end draft pick. But we'll see.
Tom Strachan
Yeah, I mean the one thing that you can kind of say is okay, if you're investing two of your first three picks in the quarterback position, it kind of locks you in saying I'm gonna push some of the quarterbacks three and four later on and I'll go over roster requirements in a second first I'm gonna lock in my guy Drake London. I think I'm sitting on something like 38 exposure to Drake London so far post draft, but there's a lot more draft season left and I'll balance that out over time. So yes, this is the FFPC Super Flex contest. It is also tight end premium, so you get an extra half point PPR on top of regular full PPR point for a reception. You starting lineup needs to be the regular quarterback position, two running backs, two wide receivers, one tight end and then two flex positions. One is the super flex but can also be running back, wide receiver or tight end. And then the second flex can be running back, wide receiver or Titan. So because of the nature of the Titan premium, because of how high those scores can be with Brock Bowers, Trey McBride, Colson Loveland, when these guys really hit, you can survive sometimes without going heavy at quarterback. And because wide receiver isn't necessarily more important than running back in this format, you know, like when we draft on underdog or draftkings, you can be drafting three wide receivers into your starting lineup as well as the flex compared to only two running backs plus deflects. So it does balance it out a little bit more here. I'm always interested in this competition. I think it's definitely going to be a fun one. Shout out to the chat. Absolutely loving the people we've got here. We've got Haynes who I know is drafting from the 107. He's been in a bunch of these drafts with me lately, has been picking some very smart stuff. And we've also got dread s and first strong gust of wind in Atlanta and Tua will be on IR for concussion number 23. Hopefully not. We don't like to see anyone concussed, but where are you standing on the Falcons quarterback room? I've been quite consistently saying I think that this is going to be tour because he's healthy and because I just don't particularly rate Michael Penix. But I kind of see it from both sides for I think both are going to be okay for Drake London and Bijan Robinson. If it's tour, he's going to get the ball out quickly. If it's Michael Penix, he's going to push the ball downfield and we saw him average really good points with Drake London.
Andrew Erickson
I think for me Tuo is probably going to open the year as a starter. That's what I would guess. He's probably healthier. Of the two quarterbacks, he's more accurate than Michael Penix is, at least at the short to intermediate level. However, I think that eventually the TUA starting will kind of run its course where okay, what are we getting out of this guy? Yeah, he's putting up some numbers, maybe some numbers in garbage time, but the Falcons aren't necessarily winning a lot of games. So I think it still makes sense to look at the younger player in Michael Pennock, someone they invested a first round draft pick into that hey, can this be our guy when he is fully healthy? I think Pennix had his moments at times last year when he was healthy in the lineup. He was much better in my opinion than Kirk Cousin was. And it's interesting when you look at his last two seasons with your guy Drake London, the guy has basically been averaging near elite fantasy production, nearly 20 points per game in full PPR with Michael Penix. So I think that if you are a Drake London guy, I think you actually prefer Penix than having Tua on your center. I think Tua is going to be the driver of Bijan Robinson getting 8, 9, 10 targets. Potentially a game where you're going to see bonkers receiving numbers from the Falcons running back and that's why you feel good about taking him 101 is because you're hoping it's Tua as the quarterback. So I could see like stark differences in terms of how the targets kind of shift dramatically because Tua and Michael Penix just don't really throw to the same part of the field. Like Pennix pushes the ball downfield and Tua really doesn't. So I think that although both guys can be point guards, distribute the ball to the guys we care about in fantasy, I think maybe it does change as the season progresses and I would bet on Pennix more likely being the starter to end the year where Tua starts the season. So that's always something that you want to be cognizant of when you're in best ball formats, especially the ones that are very dependent on weeks 15, 16, 17 where I think you're more likely to see panics than necessarily Tua.
Tom Strachan
Yeah, speaking of weeks 15, 16, 17 so this is like most basketball tournaments. We're doing Week 1 to 1412 team league with this group of people we're drafting against. Then the top two teams will advance out of this. Hopefully myself and Andrew or Haynes or anybody else who's joining us for this draft. Let us know in the chat if you are in this draft with us. Then after that the top two teams go into a new pod of 12 and that repeats until week 17 when it is an 84 person final. $100,000 up top drops off pretty swift after that, 15k a second, 7k a third, 4k to fourth and fifth place. So it's always top heavy on FFPC. But there's a lot of good payouts for making it through to the various stages of the playoffs. Like if you make it to week 15 but get eliminated, you'll get a hundred dollars cash or $125 draft entry to this year. The $125 drafts are a lot of fun. I'm going to be doing a lot of those on my channel this year. Make it to week 16, you get $300 or three 125 entries and make it a week 17 with that final and you'll get at least $500 minimum cash. So I am back on the clock here. This is the fourth round for our lovely audio listeners and I'm sitting here with Josh Allen, Devon Achan, Drake London. Top of ADP right now is Malik Neighbors who of course continues to fall on the back of some pretty iffy reports about his health. Josh Jacobs, who continues to fall for reasons which are not particularly fun to get into and then Tyler Shook, Kyron Williams, Baker Mayfield, Travis etienne, or Travis H.N. i should say these days, Chris Olave. I'm going to take Tyler Shuck just because he feels like he's in for a great leap this year. I really like the Kellen Moore offense. This has become quite a popular take. It's if you've been paying attention to fantasy football at this point in the year, there's nothing new here but like the Saints played incredibly fast to end the season. Tyler Shook was absolutely on fire and it feels like every time I've been in a draft somebody else has been getting Tyler Shook. So I want to lead into that and Go and grab him and also tie up my second quarterback position because in a few of these drafts I've pushed it a little too far and we are in quite a QB hungry draft board this one. As we get back to Andrew's pick, I took Tyler schick as the QB18. Obviously you've got your two quarterbacks already locked and loaded. Andrew Drake Mayer, Marion Hampton, Justin Herbert. What are you going to do here? Back at the 4:12, did somebody take Zay Flowers?
Andrew Erickson
Because that's who I want to take. Oh, Travis Hn went next at 411. So yeah, I'm walking in.
Tom Strachan
Yeah, you got Zay Flowers. He's still there on the board.
Andrew Erickson
Yeah, I'm gonna lock in Zay Flowers as my first pick and says I'm picking back to back. I'm just gonna wait a little bit as I, as I, as I Peru this the draft four to see. So I don't need quarterback. There is an opportunity for me to go tight end well and actually coach in the right lower hand corner actually had a little notification to me that said that the tight end tier is coming and this is kind of that elite tier when we're talking about with Tyler Warren as kind of that last guy. Even when you look at Mike Clay's projections, you can see a stark drop off after Tyler Warren to. Towards the, the next next tier of tight end. So I think that's the direction I'm actually gonna go here. I think I'm gonna double. I'm gonna go with Flowers. Six, seven, five. Yes. Three. I got him. I got him. I, I always, I always get my guy. So get Zay Flowers and then. Yeah, I think I'm gonna go with Tyler Warren again, the one and a half points per reception and Tyler Warren is one of these players that. How does he get his production? I think that that's something that matters when it comes to tight end premium because the premium can change based on format. You really want guys that aren't the touchdown dependent players because I don't think that this, this format really, this format doesn't really help that. It's really guys that. Could you see him having 6, 7, 8 catches in a particular contest? Maybe if Alec Pierce isn't the guy and Josh Downs is still regulated to. Okay. Still not running a full complement of snaps. Well, Tyler Warren, I still has a pretty good shot of potentially leading this Colts team in offensive production. So I'm gonna go with him here at the start of round five.
Tom Strachan
Yeah, like occasionally you'd see people talking up his Taysom Hill a better bet in tie in premium? Well, no, because he just doesn't catch the ball. So it's, it's, it's always the case that you want those guys who have volume hogs and there is a tier gap where then you want to wait. It's definitely not worth chasing the tight end production, but you know, in this format it's 20 rounds. Generally speaking, the historic data shows a 4QB builds. 4 Titan builds tends to work out as the best sort of builds out there. So I'm always kind of keeping that in my mind a little bit. But you never want to be tied to it too much. Andrew. I'm one pick away. I'm currently got Josh Allen, Devon A. Chan, Drake London and Tyler Shuck. But I want to circle back to Zay Flowers because he's one of the guys that you've kind of laid down the, you know, everything early and said, Zay Flowers is one of your guys for this season. What's the ceiling and what makes you so high on him?
Andrew Erickson
I just think that he is a super talented wide receiver that has improved every single step of the way during his NFL career. When he was coming out of Boston College, he reminded me a lot of Antonio Brown. Just someone that could get open, create yards after the catch. Maybe not the biggest guy, the most threatening guy, but besides that, he checks off all the other boxes. And I think that I'm open to the idea that maybe he does see a more involved the red zone role. With Declan Doyle stepping in as the new offensive coordinator for the Baltimore Ravens. Flowers had over 1200 receiving yards last year and everyone else that did that had at least eight touchdowns. He was the one guy that kind of fell short of that. So when we're looking at what's the most predictive number when it comes to, okay, finding that next player in terms of who's due for some positive touchdown regression. Zay Flowers is one of those guys because he's doing everything else. He's getting yards, he's being really efficient yards per route run. Last year, the only two guys that were ahead of him, JSN and Pukinakua, maybe you've heard of them, they were pretty good in fantasy last year. So the peripherals for Zay Flowers are there for him. He's got a stud quarterback. Maybe you've heard of him, Lamar Jackson. To get a player of Zay Flowers potential upside. And I think, okay, maybe if he doesn't hit, I think that he's gonna at least return on where you drafted him, whether it's in the fifth round here or a little bit in the fourth or end of third round in some one quarterback league. So I think the floor is really high and a lot of times what ends up happening is yeah, this guy has a really high floor every single year and then one year he has that touchdown season or he just scores a bunch of explosive plays and, and that's how you get the special type of JSN season from last year. Getting target share. Who is he competing for targets with in this Ravens offense? Rashad Bateman. It's not going to happen. And then you have two rookies that they drafted, Mark Andrews. How much does he have left in the tank? So I, I just, I love flowers outlook for this year.
Tom Strachan
Yeah, I mean you look what he did last year. Six in receiving yards, third and deep receiving yards, second in play action yards, third in motion yards and he that with Lamar Jackson banged up. I'm betting on Lamar Jackson this year. And yes, I am a Ravens fan, so there's an element of homerism. But you look at what Lamar Jackson's done in the two years that he had a new offensive coordinator. He was MVP in both those seasons. Like he seems to thrive with that kind of freshness and the offensive line is going to be greatly improved. The Ravens were just an awful team in the red zone last year. I really would like to see them lean into Zay Flowers down there a little more. Obviously he's not the biggest guy, but he can get open easily and sooner or later touchdown regression is going to help him because he's been tackled so, so, so many times inside the five yard line and around there. But it's, it's painful. As a Ravens fan. We're kind of approaching the end of round five now, the draft so far. I'm going to pick back up with a chat in a minute because there's some stuff I want to talk about. But for myself, I've got Josh Allen, Devon A. Chan, Drake London, Tyler Shuck and Chris Olave. Andrew, you've got Drake Mayer, Marion Hampton, Justin Herbert, Zay Flowers, Tyler Warren. Warren sitting here at the beginning of round six, we've got 21 quarterbacks off the board. Jordan Love goes just after Malik Willis. We've had 16 wide receivers go Devonta Smith. Oh, sorry. Emeka Rega just went as wide receiver 17, Javante Williams as running back 18. It does tend to be a bit more of a running back heavy platform FFPC than underdog. But this year in general, we're seeing running backs pushed up. How are you feeling about your kind of overall lay of things through six round well through five full rounds at this point, Andrew, I mean, am I
Andrew Erickson
already regretting taking Drake 5-1- overall? The thing with me is I think because I think that it's a very strong tier at the top. We talked about this on your show. Josh Allen, the two other running backs, Bijan and Gibbs. I I think Drake May kind of deserves in that being in that kind of conversation. Looking at my roster here, how much more would I like it if instead Justin Herbert was my QB1 and instead of Drake May, I had Jameer Gibbs and then I had Gibbs Hampton Flowers. I'm interested to see if that because we'll get the the draft review basically from Giraffe wizard after we're done here. And I'm gonna. I'm curious if they're gonna recommend like, hey, if you had drafted Gibbs instead of Rick May, you would have gained X amount more points. So. So that's something that I'm just looking at initially. Besides that, though, I'm really happy with the players I've gotten. I'm excited I got Tyler Warren where I did. I think if there's a gap between him and Harold Fannin kind of. I know Famine was better last year, but I think the Browns quarterback situation is much actually. Well, Daniel Jones is coming off the injury, so maybe it's not as different. But I still like where I got Warren and then getting Zay Flowers just talked, you know, wax poetic about him as well.
Tom Strachan
Yeah, took a craft, goes off the board a couple of picks before me, which is deeply disappointing to see the guys in the chat asking about kind of Malik Neighbors. Both of us passed him over. I took Chris Olave as the wide receiver 13 when T. Higgins went wide receiver 14 before Malik neighbors. Are you touching Malik Neighbors or is this just one where you're happy to let other people take the risk? Until we get a little more clarity,
Andrew Erickson
I think that I'm willing to let other people take the risk. I don't know if the upside is warranted right now, where he's still going in drafts when I'm expecting him to open the year on the PUP list or pup, however you want to call. I know I'm calling it the PUP list. Just got a new puppy, so just puppy is on my mind. However you want to clarify that designation and even when he comes back. When are we going to get the elite production? Is the when we're talking about Malik Neighbors heading into next year Is it going to be? Well, we knew he was coming off this ACL injury. It was not a simple cleanup surgery. 2027 is the year Neighbors bounces back. I feel like that's pretty. I feel like that might actually just end up happening. So I think right now I'm okay with passing on Neighbors, especially because I don't think his price is going to be going up anytime soon. So I'm not in a rush to try to get him on my teams.
Tom Strachan
Yeah, that's it. It's a long basketball season. We'll definitely get to that. I took lad McConkey there as the wide receiver 20 in the sixth round. I'm very high on lad McConkey this year. I think that if you're looking for a guy who can make the jump up to the top 10 wide receivers, I think everything sets up well for Lab McConkey with Mike McDaniel now the offensive coordinator, the Chargers offensive line being healthy, Justin Herbert having that breath of fresh air. Greg Roman was never the guy who was going to get a high volume passing game to lad McConkey. Perhaps Keenan Allen signs with the charges in another few weeks and dashes all my hopes. But I think that you get that positive touchdown regression for Lab McConkey in the red zone if you get Justin Herbert outplaying the projections and hitting 40 touchdowns for like the first time since rookie season. Absolutely in the realms of possibility. So I have Josh Allen, Devon Achan, Drake London, Tyler Shook, Chris olave and lad McConkey feeling pretty good about this. If I hadn't gone wide receiver, I would have been going running back there. Don't want to push running back too far as we're already down to RB22. David Montgomery was the guy I was eyeing between him and McConkey, but Montgomery went one pick before me and ultimately let me play the ceiling play. You were on the board at the. At the turn you added Jalen Waddle and Mike Evans to your wide receiver room with Zay Flowers in there. Andrew, how are you feeling about that start through seven rounds now?
Andrew Erickson
Yeah. So those are the two next highest ranked guys I had at wide receiver. This is kind of an interesting range for the running backs where that's definitely a position that I need to get more exposure to. I only have one running back heading into now. I'll be in the eighth round. So I thought about some of the running backs here, but I don't know, I feel like I can just poke a lot of holes in a lot of the running backs that are at the top of the board whether it's some of these second year guys. I know I like Bay Shell Tootin a lot, but do I like him as a lock for more production than some of these receivers? I just feel pretty good about Waddle's outlook in the Denver Broncos offense. They just throw significantly, so much more than Miami did last year. Waddle was still really efficient last season and Mike Evans I think is just going to be a touchdown machine. I think especially in best ball. Like that's where Mike Evans has just been so good over the last couple years because it's feast or famine with him. He's going to have some games where he disappears. The defense is really trying to take him away. He's older, he's not getting any younger. So but to start the year, especially if George Kittle is limited coming back from his Achilles injury, I know he's targeting Week one. I mean Brock Purdy averaged the second most passing touchdowns in the NFL last year behind only Matthew Stafford. It's kind of under the radar because he didn't play the whole season, but when he was healthy 8, 8 or 8 or 9 games over 2.2 passing touchdowns per game. I think Evans was brought in there for a reason to be a red zone monster. So he's going to catch a lot of touchdowns and every time he does he's going to be hitting that basketball lineup.
Tom Strachan
Yeah, I think it's a fair price as well. When you kind of talking what is he wide receiver 22? I don't have a problem with that. I think the days of a thousand yards probably gone, but if he can get into the red zone and get into the end zone consistently he'll be fine. I use my seventh round pick on DeAndre Swift. I was writing an article this morning for fantasypros.com talking about running backs that I'm trying to draft a bit more often. I think with DeAndre Swift is not somebody that I've ever really enjoyed drafting or wanted to draft a lot of. But at this point under Ben Johnson offense, like when you compare him to Kyle Manon guy, Swift had a higher explosive run rate, a better missed tackles force rate, generated more yards before contact and was just the better running back all round. Yes, Carmen Ongai could make a big of a second year leap or so, but I'm still betting on Swift being the veteran and seeing more of the work. But yes, chat definitely weighing in in plenty of this and we are loving it. 74 Appreciate you subscribing to the channel over here on Sweat on Twitch. So Andrew, we are rolling in around eight this draft ticking along at a nice pace so far tonight. Chuba Hubbard goes off the board as RB27. Your team Drake Mayer Marion Hampton Justin Herbert Zay Flowers Tyler Warren Jalen Waddle Mike Evans My team Josh Allen Devon Achan Drake London Tyler Shook Chris Olavi Ladd McConkey DeAndre Swift looking at the teams in this room, there's only one team, sorry two teams that have pulled the third quarterback trigger so far. We've got the team at the 10 spot which is Jaden Daniels, Brock Bowers, Dak Prescott, Jeremiah Love, Kyron Williams, Garrett Wilson, C.J. stroud, team at the four slot which is just the one wide receiver and Luther Burden. But they have Jameer Gibbs, Caleb Williams, Saquon Barkley, Bo Nicks, Baker Mayfield, David Montgomery and Luther Burden. Do you feel like you would have liked your team more if you're taking a third quarterback by now or do you prefer to push that third quarterback as long as you can?
Andrew Erickson
Let me see which quarterbacks are left. First of all, before, before I make any glaring statements about. Well, because again I, I think that there are some decent guys. I am probably, I mean I don't like to admit this but kind of like Geno Smith this year to to put up some decent numbers with some of these jets offensive playmakers. My concern with him is just the bench risk where if the jets just fall so far out of contention because it seems like very seems pretty clear to me that the Aaron Glenn is attached to Geno Smith as long as he's remains the head coach of the Jets. I mean you don't call him like he's going to lead us to the promised land. You know, you don't say that if it's not your guy or Ride or die. Whereas the Jets GM is like yeah, we're really open to seeing what we got for with Klub Nick. Very interesting to see this guy see what he can do. So it seems Kind of like set in stone that, yeah, Gino's probably not going to be there during the playoff weeks for me. But along the way, can he provide some spike weeks during some of the either Herbert's bye week or Drake May's bye week? I think Geno Smith can provide some production and then Mendoza, I, I, I think that Kirk Cousins is washed, man, I am, I, I think that they might start him week one or week two, but I think we're going to see Mendoza sooner rather than later and I think that he's going to be really effective in his Clint Kubiak offense.
Tom Strachan
Well, you talked up Gino. I was tempted to take him before we got to your pick, but I'm, I'm going with George Kittle. All the medical reports that we've seen out there seem to suggest that he's going to be back. Maybe not me. He says he wants to be back for Week 1 for the game in Australia. Maybe it's not quite that early, but I think that we see him very early on in the season and even if he's not quite as effective as he was, if you like, I'm getting him at the tight end 10 in this format where tight end scoring can be so good, if you can get volume, if you can get the touchdowns, it helps separate so much. And I'm very much willing to say, okay, I'm probably going to draft four tight ends in this team because I didn't take my first one till round eight and I'm very much okay with that. Jacoby Brissette goes off the board to the team at the 2 spot who is yet to draft a wide receiver. They got Bijan Robinson, Chase Brown, Carson Loveland, Travis Achan, Harold Fannin, Daniel Jones, Sam Darnold, Jacoby Brissette. Leaving it to you, Andrew, on the turn to decide what you're going to do. Just one running back, just one tight end and two quarterbacks so far. Where are you taking us on this pick?
Andrew Erickson
Yeah, so I talked about Gino, talked about Mendoza. That is the direction I'm going here with the quarterback. So I actually did go with Mendoza in this particular. I, I think I like him a little bit more for this build because I feel that I'm very strong at quarterback as it is, so I don't necessarily need to take a. Yeah, I think Gino probably has like a higher floor in terms of case. I know he's going to probably give me some weeks to start the year. But thinking about those playoff weeks, maybe Mendoza's can really be a difference maker during those weeks because I definitely feel he'll be starting in those games whereas Gino Smith I'm not feeling as much So I have Geno Smith in a vacuum ranked ahead of Mendoza because I think that he'll probably start more games. But based on my roster I think I do prefer Mendoza specifically a little bit more to this specific build. And then when it comes to all I got to make my pick here, I'm going to be going with a probably a running back here. So I'm going to go with where is he? I gotta find him on my board before.
Tom Strachan
So we've got Ramandre Stevenson, RJ Harvey, Tony Pollard, Rico Dowdle, Kenneth Gainwell are all the top running backs and coming on guy all hovering around there. Andrew, you auto drafted Ramondre Stevenson?
Andrew Erickson
Oh hey, at least he's a Patriot. That's fine. I can, I can live with that at least as a running back like because I know I need to draft a running back. I was trying to pull up Rashad White but maybe I can actually get him at a different time. Either way I think you'd be all right. I think it's fine. It's fine.
Tom Strachan
Yeah. I mean if I don't draft him and of course I'm sat in front of you. We've got Haynes definitely in this draft burning FF saying I don't play a lot of best ball. Is it a big deal if I have three players on a bye week for week 11? I mean it is if they're all quarterbacks or if we're all tight ends but generally if not, with 20 roster spots you should be able to overcome three. You might want to keep an eye on that as we go forward. Speaking of bye weeks, I'm kind of fine at the minute. Andrew. How are yours sitting? I'm sitting down to a choice of Geno Smith or Aaron Rodgers as my quarterback three here because it feels like quarterback's going to dry up quite quickly and I think that I can probably make up the other positions I need to pay attention to after that. I am going to take Geno Smith. I think that Aaron Rodgers is probably going to be a bit better this year and the offense is going to be more potent but yeah, slightly more faith in Gino. How's your bi week situation looking, Andrew?

hello. Hello, this is Malcolm Glebel from Smart Talks with IBM. Today we're diving into a fascinating conversation with Stefano Pallard, head of fan development for Scuderia Ferrari hp. Your pronunciation is strongly American. It's more Scuderia Ferrari. I'm still working on rolling my R's, but what I was able to learn from Stefano was the importance of engaging the Tifosi, the Ferrari superfans in the digital age. Ferrari fans and super fans want to be part of something, want to belong to something. So they want to be part of a community and ultimately they want to be part of a winning team. You've got Ferrari which has a long history, design history and now you're interacting in a kind of digital space. I'm curious how you balance those two traditions. When it comes to fan engagement, it's really digital technology and digital channels are being able to create a deeper connection with our fans. To learn more about how Ferrari and IBM are using technology to build deeper connections with fans, visit IBM.com Ferrari I am looking right now and I think I'm in pretty good shape. I think everyone's kind of on different bye weeks so I'm actually pretty good. My quarterbacks are all different bye weeks. So it's seven for Herbert. May is 11 and Mendoza is by week 13 teens so I'm feeling pretty good into the Interesting that it was between Rogers and Geno Smith again. I was perusing the projections again as I was doing because right now I'm working on my players to target article for the draft kit that's going to be coming out I think next week. So the week of June 15th we're going to have some more draft kit content for the 2026 season. Working on targets starting with quarterbacks and just looking at some of the projections. Aaron Rodgers has the second most at pass attempts projected for this year and because I, because I thought about I'm like, you know what, yeah Mike McCarthy does like to dial up the passing game a decent amount. Now is this more of the like Ben Roethlisberger pass attempt where he throws them all like 600 times but it's all within five lines of the five yards line of scrimmage. So going back to you know like liking Michael Pittman a decent amount this year just because I think he'll see a decent amount of volume. So yeah I think Rogers is interesting especially I mean Roger's ninth round in a super flex. Like I'll say that. Not say he's a league winner by any means but someone that's a value. I mean R.J. harvey's going around him. Jake Ferguson Tua went two picks after him. He would he's probably going to start the whole season. So yeah, don't love Rogers in one quarterback but like this late like seems like he's a pretty good value.
Tom Strachan
I mean and we know the Rogers had such heavy splits last year. He beat up on the poor teams and did pretty poorly against bad teams but he's still going to play a decent chunk of poor teams. And when you're in super flex I can live with that. The Chat is absolutely popping today. Really appreciate all the new followers. Guys like Haynes and St. Lutrell, Bunting, gifting memberships. You guys are absolutely rocking. And we had a question earlier about what circle back to better call Bob asking who's our breakout year two or three wide receiver this season? Andrew? Anyone in particular in that sort of year two, year three range? Are you going to Marvin Harrison?
Andrew Erickson
I don't. Can. Can you break out if Carson Beck is your quarterback like I in. In the Devonte Adams role? Like dude, I don't man, I don't think that's gonna happen. I'm trying to see. I'm like looking at some of my wide receivers I've listed here just to kind of see if there's anyone that kind of stands out to me as a year two or year three guy. I'm sure there's someone that I'm just not like thinking. I mean Ricky Pearsall, Ricky Pearson would be one. Ricky Pierce I would, I would rather bet on. I think, I think it just, it's health with him, right? I think that he can play. He showed last year even when he was healthy. I mean he led the 49ers and receiving yards per game which is a crazy stat. But he had a lot of high end performances when he was healthy. I think low hanging fruit is some of the second year wide receivers that are being drafted pretty highly. Agbuka, Luther Burden, McMillan. I think T. Mac has a chance to jump into the elite if Bryce Young just kind of takes a little bit more of a step forward. That Panther's offense can kind of continues to improve year after year. So I think that he's like the clear cut alpha and I think there's other receivers like Coker and Brazel. I think that just kind of opens things up for T. Mac to just absolutely feast when he gets one on one matchups. So again, those, those guys aren't under the radar. Josh Downs is not. He's a year four guy, right? He would be another guy I think is interesting.
Tom Strachan
But yeah, because he had a great rookie year. Then he had a year where he got banged up. Then he had last year where you know, only played sort of 60 of snaps, still had a really impressive yards per out run, but just wasn't out there enough. And yeah, he's definitely somebody that I'm very interested in this year. I think that the team are saying enough positive things about him that I want to make sure I've got plenty of Josh Downs and it's not me saying I Don't think Tyler Warren can be good. I just think that Josh Downs has enough talent and there's so little in that wide receiver room behind Alec Pierce, who made hay on really high variance routes last year, that I'm willing to make a bet that Josh Downs can at least pay off value. Because quite often you're talking about somebody that you can get wide receiver, 45 range. So yeah, it's definitely. It's definitely intriguing to me. Got St. Lutrel in the chat saying general rule for my go buys, not to draft jets players works out more often than not. Yeah, I'm not going to argue with you on that whatsoever. Geno Smith was my quarterback for Evo. I'm okay with it since my pick of Geno Smith. We saw Jake Ferguson go off the board, tight ends starting to come off. We saw RJ Harvey, Aaron Rodgers, Dalton Kincaid. Tour, Marvin Harrison, Jordan Tyson, Alec Pierce, Isaiah Likely on the turn, Brian Thomas, Rico Dowdle, DK Metcalfe, Kenneth Gainwell, CarltonGai, Mark Andrews. Tight end 14 was somebody who would have been in play for me. Parker Washington, Blake Coram. One pick away from me now and the top of ADP is looking like this. Cortland Sutton, Dallas Goddard, J.K. dobbins, Jonathan Brooks, Michael Wilson, Chris Godwin, Aaron Jones, Makai Lemon, Rashad White, Aronde Gadsden, Michael Pittman, Joanne Johnson, Jacoby Myers and Jaden Reed. So I only have the two running backs. I've got three wide receivers. This one kind of comes down to tight end or running back for me. My choice now that I'm on the clock, It's Dallas Goddard, J.K. dobbins, Jonathan Brooks. Jonathan Brooks isn't somebody I'm really high on. I know you are higher than I am on him. I think I'm gonna. I'm gonna lock in Dallas Goddard here. I think that yes, things are going to be potentially a little more difficult for him with Eli Stowers there this year. But last year the Eagles moved away from the tush push at times and they just kept shoveling the ball to Dallas Goddard, who obviously had a career year when it came to touchdowns. But I'm willing to make a bet that he can still be fairly useful in this format as Titan 15. Andrew is now one pick out his team so far. Drake Mayer, Marion Hampton, Justin Herbert, Zay Flowers, Tyler Warren, Jalen Waddle, Mike Evans, Fernando Mendoza, Ramondre Stevenson, who he auto drafted last time whilst just talking for too long. 60 seconds on the clock and he managed to talk through all of them and not lock that pick in. Now he's got 44 seconds left. Andrew, would you like to talk about anything in particular? Tell us about your dog.
Andrew Erickson
Well, that's the, that's what my, my team's name is inspired by the golden retriever puppy. Archie it is. My team name is Archie's Toys because whenever he bites my ankles, I say, no, Archie, get your toy. Get your toy, buddy. Archie's Toys, not my leg. Please don't bite me. Please just stop biting me. So I'm going to go with the guy actually thought about pulling up last round, so I'm kind of glad that he's still here on the board. So I'm gonna go with Rashad White as my first running back here because I gotta get, I gotta play catch up here on some running backs and then I'm going to follow that up with a player you just mentioned I'm a little bit higher on than you are. But I think as someone that's very boom or bust in terms of what kind of pick he could be. But I think that how the offseason progresses, how we could even see the beginning of the season progress. Jonathan Brooks could just end up being the Carolina Panthers best running back at the end of the season. I get that Chuba Hubbard has been the main guy they paid him, but I think that he has shown that last two seasons. At the end of the year he's broken down. He has not been nearly as efficient. He lost his job last year to Rico Dowdle. He did not have any explosive runs at all last season. So there's just enough concern with him as. Okay, how do you find these breakout running backs? You look for these ambiguous backfields. Jonathan Brooks is a pass catcher, highly drafted out of college. Yes. Obviously not healthy. But he's only, he's just turned 23 years old. So if I'm going to bet on anybody coming back from an injury, I want to bet on a player that is young. And we've seen guys come back from these knee injuries faster and faster. So Jonathan Brooks for me is one of the priority running back targets in these double digit rounds. I think it's a high upside pick. And after week one we could see, oh man, like this backfield was way closer than we thought it was during the entirety of draft season. So I still think even as this price continues to increase, as there is a lot of positive buzz about him and his health, I'm kind of, I'm just here for it. I'm just kind of buying it. Especially because I just don't have the confidence that Hubbard is going to hold down this job because he already lost last year.
Tom Strachan
I mean, we talked about it last week on my show on Fantasy Sanctuary. I think that the opportunity is there because Chuba Hubbard again wasn't explosive last year, wasn't able to get anything going. He just really struggled with it. So I think he'll have a chance. I'm just finding it hard to bet on a guy who's got less than, you know, 40 total Russian yards through two years in his career. I'm going to pull up Chris Rodriguez. Looking at the running back rooms here, it's J.K. dobbins involving a freeway committee. Aaron Jones, who I do quite like in a bit of a cleaner running back room with just Jordan Mason. But I'm just going to lean towards going here with Chris Rodriguez because I haven't drafted very much of him and I do think that split with Tooton is going to be interesting some weeks. Bunting, you're saying your QB rooms looking rough. Which team are you drafting out of here? Are you either teaming the nine hole with just the two quarterbacks? Let us know in the chat. Team 6 bunting saying so he has got JSN Jalen Hurts, Nico Collins, AJ Brown for a very wide receiver. High, high upside start Malik Willis, Bucky Irving, Trevion Henderson, Roma Dunze Tour and Carmen On Guy. I like that. I think that's got lots to like. Obviously the tight end position he just takes Ronde Gadsden now is going to require four players in there, but I think that there's enough to work with. What you think Andrew?
Andrew Erickson
Yeah, so yeah, the QB room is definitely bit. A bit shaky right. With. With. But you're hoping that TUA can hold on to the job for a little bit longer. Michael Pennings doesn't really doesn't come back from the knee injury. Right. Or two is doing it because I think, I mean two is probably going to put up good numbers. I mean he plays in warm weather and he plays in a dome. So like those are just checking off the box of okay, the most likely. How do we put TUA and get good numbers from two is you put them in those types of situations. So I think that you're taking, you're taking some value that's falling to you because you're getting more wide receiver. I mean your receivers, you have AJ Brown, the flex, right. And oh actually you have Malik Willis. So you have Malik Willis too. What am I, what am I saying here? I mean I like Moiko as a great value. Yeah, I, I mean I think he's even, he's like even better value in one quarterback leagues because he just goes so late. And I understand that the supporting cast is not great for him. But if you're ever going to put somebody in a supporting, with a supporting cast like they have in Miami, you want them to have the skill set like Malik Willis. Because if anything, if nobody's open, what is that just going to encourage him to do? Take off and run? And that's what you're trying to get from him anyway. That's where he's providing the most fantasy value and fantasy juice. And who knows, maybe somebody surprises us. You know Chris Bell, if he was healthy, would he have been a first round pick? We don't know. But maybe the talent is there. Maybe he surprises. And I keep talking about him but I still, I'm a believer in Greg Dulcich. Like what he did as a rookie tight end is really impressive. I remember people were talking about Greg Dulcich over Trey McBride. That was the thing that happened and
Tom Strachan
I'm glad I was on the right side about that.
Andrew Erickson
But that was the immediate production. Like Dulcich was out producing traffic, right. Because McBride was stuck behind Zach Ertz and couldn't do anything, couldn't get onto the field. Dulce dealt with injuries, but last year he flashed a lot of talent, a lot of yards out to the catch. That's what I always look for with these late round tight ends is Tucker Kraft, like who can make plays with a ball in their hand. And Dulcich might end up being Malik Willis's best playmaker. So if he can create some chunk gains, catch some touchdowns garbage time, you could see Malik Willis put up some decent fantasy numbers, even if it's not pretty when you look up at the box score or the win loss record for Miami Dolphins.
Tom Strachan

Come and get your questions answered and be on the show. Be part of it. At fantasyprose.com forward/chat Rolling back through the 12th round kind of approaching my pick. So since we last talked about the board, I took Chris Rodriguez, then Chris Godwin When Aaron Jones, J.K. dobbins, Jaden Reed, Aronde Gadsden, Makai Lemon, Brenton Strange, Michael Pittman, Jacori Crosky Merritt, Justice Hill RB 42 Juwan Johnson who's tightened 18 venture Kobe Myers Josh Downs went as wide receiver 45 right about where I said that he tends to go Chiga conquo goes to our guy Bunting so he's now got a tight end room of Ronda Gadsden and Chiga conquo few picks out. I'm kind of looking down the line at this one and saying I can kind of place any way I want. I've got three quarterbacks, I've got three running backs, I've got two tight ends. I can kind of take the best player available. Andrew, how are you thinking about this turn that's approaching for yourself?
Andrew Erickson
Well, I'm curious if you're thinking about Kenyon Sadiq with a little little jets. I mean I know we just talk about don't draft jets players but I mean I know when in Rome. When in Rome.
Tom Strachan
Yeah I I don't like to get too heavy on the jets for reasons for sd literal mentioned earlier the general rule thumb don't draft jets But Kenyan City goes one pick before me so spares me that difficult conversation. I'm staring down Jordan Addison, Deshaun Watson, Quentin Johnson, Xavier Worthy, Hunter Henry, TJ Hawkinson, Dalton Schultz, Casey Concepcion, Romeo Dubs who has been following falling since AJ Brown joined New England Michael Penix, Matthew Golden, Khalil Shakir, Zach Charbonnet, the draft assistant. You can see that 69 of experts are saying that Jordan Jordan Addison is to pick here, which makes plenty of sense. Like I think that the upside with Jordan Addison is massive. I do quite like Xavier Worthy but I am gonna go I'm just gonna double check my bye weeks though. I've got Drake London who's on week 11. I've got Chris Olave, lad McConkey. Everything works out well. So adding Jordan Addison feels like a nice way to kind of just bulk out this wide receiver room a little bit more. There's always depth of wide receiver position in these FFPC super flex drafts because unlike normal 20 round drafts where you might be taking nine, 10 wide receivers, kind of six tends to do the job here a few years back I was lucky enough to find pukinakua in the 20th round and that helped me to top six finish and that will be forever. A great year in my best ball portfolio. Quentin Johnson goes off the board one one place before Andrew had a chance to potentially stack him with Justin Herbert. Andrew now has Drake Mayer, Marion Hampton, Justin Herbert, Zay Flowers, Tyler Warren, Jalen Waddle, Mike Evans, Fernando Mendoza, Ramondre Stevenson, Rashad White, Jonathan Brooks. I'm gonna let you lock in your second pick before I make you talk Andrew, because the last thing I want you to do is auto draft Deshaun Watson or somebody like that here or find yourself taking I I appreciate that
Andrew Erickson
I I don't
Tom Strachan
but yes Greg Dulcich going here as Titan 21 to Andrew Haynes in the chat saying dulcich@titan21 that is bullish. Andrew is always a man ready to stand on conviction of his takes. Give us and then adding Romeo Dubs Andrew give us the the full sales pitch for Greg Dulcich, a man who yeah as you say after his rookie season, people were taking ahead of Trey McBride, but it's been an awful lot of nothing for for the most part
Andrew Erickson
is not been great for for Greg Dulcich hopped around from teams I think that he was with. So he was with obviously Miami last year down the stretch, but very productive in terms of I think it was after week nine he was second in yards after the catch trailing or terms yards after catch per reception and it's only 26 years old. One of the number one things you got to look for when it comes to tight ends is do you have a path to be the number one or number two target on your team? Should we read off the Miami receiver depth chart? I mean I can do it, you can do it. It's a bunch of players that we're not super excited about. Maybe we're excited about two or three years ago when some of these guys were coming out, but Jalen Tolbert had his stands Tutu Atwell very undersized but was really productive at the college level. Malik Washington again, another really productive college football receiver, but hasn't really translated that all to the pros quite yet. So in an offense that is devoid of established pass catchers, I think that Greg Dulcich, the GM said himself on a podcast with Kevin Clark, I believe earlier this off season that Kevin Clark basically straight up asked him, hey, like who are you excited about like taking a leap this year? He said Greg Dulcich of the entire roster of Players who he's only on a one year deal. It's not like they like shelled out a bunch of money to Greg Dulcich to be like this guy. I just think that he is slated to be the most productive receiver in this offense. Maybe that's not saying much for an offense that might break 30 second and pass attempts, but I think he's just going to have a lot of opportunities. And when it comes to tight end, sometimes that's all it takes. It's just like getting an opportunity for targets. And I do think he has a little bit of juice after the catch to offer as well. So Greg Dulcich, for me, I mean tight end 21, is that really bullish? Like, I mean that's like back end, tight end. Now it's a little bit different because this is a obviously tight end premium format. But back to our original point, if he does end up racking up a lot of receptions, he can take advantage of this particular format. It doesn't necessarily need to score a lot of touchdowns to be, you know, or to outdo his draft stock or draft position here at tight end 21.
Tom Strachan
Thinking about like the three agent tight ends, is there any concern that someone like Johnny Smith could end up back in Miami? Taysom Hill, Zach Ertz, Darren Waller, I mean any of these guys, Donald Parham, even like any of these guys, that would make you slightly more worried for Greg Dulcich.
Andrew Erickson
I don't really think so. I don't know if Miami wants again, anything can happen. So we'll see. They still could sign a, you know, they could sign Stefan Diggs. Like they could sign one of these wide receivers too. So there's always a chance that they add another pass catcher at some point. But again, he's only 26 years old, so why not see what they have in a player like Greg Dulcich? And coming the current coaching staff in place, obviously coming from the Green Bay packers, they know what an offense can transform into with a dynamic tight end. And I think that to that point
Tom Strachan
though, Mercedes Lewis is out there. Someone who plays the packers and he's only 42 years old.
Andrew Erickson
He's only 42. Has he been in the NFL longer than I've been alive? Maybe it's close.
Tom Strachan
He's so old. He's two years older than me. Sorry, carry on. I interrupted what was a very good point just to make a joke.
Andrew Erickson
No, I, I just think that Dulcich has a lot of, maybe opposite is not the right word, just opportunity in this offense.
Tom Strachan
And the Thing that we come back to with tight ends and I constantly find myself making this point. If you could score five touchdowns at the tight end, you are probably going to be a top 15 tight end you're probably going to be no worse than Titan 16 unless you are never catching the ball. But it only takes between five and seven touchdowns typically to really make a massive impact like very years where we just don't get tight ends reaching double digit touchdowns. So if you can come even close to sort of six or seven touchdowns you can find your way into a line particularly in best ball formats an awful lot. And I think with Tyler Warren and Greg Dulcich look, that's a lot of hair if nothing else.
Andrew Erickson
Oh yeah. I mean you could just draft him off the locks. Yeah, the Greg Dulcich look in that stash. I mean we were talking pre show about everyone rocking these mustaches on the guys. I've been working on this for like weeks. Come on, give me some credit.
Tom Strachan
So after you took Greg Dulcich, you took Romeo Dubs, Xavier Worthy went before me who I do kind of quite like at Y receiver 50. I'm definitely slightly interested in him. Then I took Hunter Henry as my third tight end. George Kittle, Dallas got it on Hunter Henry now rounded out that room. Casey Concepcion went Gunnar Helm, Dalton Schultz, desean Watson, Khalil Shakir, TJ Hawkinson, Matthew Golden, Calvin Ridley, Rashid Shahid, Dylan Sampson, Tajay Spears, woody marks and A.J. barner. Andrew, how do you feel about A.J. barna? Because there seems to be some pretty wide ranging opinions on him. He goes tight in 26 here. He had no case season last year. Do you think that the Seahawks could lean into really pushing things more towards one tight end rather than try to mix in Arroyo as well?
Andrew Erickson
I think Arroyo has to find a way to get on the field with these injuries. That's kind of what I'm concerned about with him is that he just isn't 100 healthy. I know that he was dealing with a knee injury last year and kind of rookie year was basically a wash for the most part. He didn't do a lot. Meanwhile, AJ Barner has kind of been productive whenever the Seahawks have called upon him from, from again. Another one of these Michigan tight ends that has come into the NFL and produced. So I think it's kind of his job to lose. I think specifically where he could have the biggest role in the Seahawks offense is in the red zone. Right. Who was the red zone guy last year? Wasn't. We know it wasn't Ken Walker. Yeah, and it was Zach Charbonnet. He's injured. So if they don't lean on Jadarian Price in the red zone as much, maybe they do let Sam Donald throw the ball a little bit more. Instead of trusting a rookie with these really high value touches then you can see AJ Barnum potentially having a big role as a red zone threat. Especially with the former 49ers tight end coach is their new offensive coordinator George Kittle. Every single year he was there had a ton of red zone opportunities and ton of touchdowns. So A.J. barner likes some of his touchdown upside.
Tom Strachan
Yep, I can get on board with that. So after AJ Barna, Tyler Algier went, then Stefan dig Zach Charbonnet as mentioned. Yes, it's long roll back for him. But RB49, it's kind of an interesting gamble to take Isaiah Pacheco obviously a potential that he could end up being more involved in Detroit than some people are expecting. Jalen Coker goes off the board. One pick before me, which I definitely like myself some Jalen Coker, but probably wouldn't have lent towards wide receiver with four already on my roster. What I needed was a running back. I have Devon A. Chan, Deandre Swift and Chris Rodriguez. Why not add some pure upside in Keaton Mitchell? I have the fastest running back room in this draft between Devon Achan and Keaton Mitchell. I'm not expecting Keaton Mitchell to become an incredible fantasy value. Like I don't think that I'm. I've seen some very lofty projections for him and I'm not quite there. But I think when you look at a guy who is easily one of the fastest ball carriers, who's excelled with creative play callers and now you get him to the Chargers, you push him towards the outside where Mike McDaniel has designed some incredible work for Devon and Chan over years. And I think that even if we get 70% Devonur Chan without the pass catching upside perhaps then I'm willing to take that bet for RB4 in round 14. Andrew, you took Jonah Coleman and Jaden Higgins. Why don't you talk a little bit about those selections whilst I make my next pick here?
Andrew Erickson
I like Jonah Coleman as a hedge against the other Denver Broncos running backs J.K. dobbins we know is not built to survive the 17 game season. And if he were to go down, I think that Coleman would have an opportunity potentially take on some of that early down work. And it's also a bet against RJ Harvey if he doesn't improve as a rusher in between the tackles. So I don't think Coleman is someone that you're going to necessarily draft too bullishly in your normal redraft league because I think that we could look up after week one and he's not even on the field or inactive a healthy scratch, some type as because you know Sean Payton loves is Jaleel McLaughlin. He's got to get fine ways to get Tyler Beatty McLaughlin on the field who I think are still in the Denver Broncos roster. But hey Davis web maybe he comes in and establishes hey, the chaos has ended, there will be no more jokers and we won't be put into awkward positions anymore. So I like Coleman. I think that he just fits what the Broncos need at running back. So I like getting here in the end of the 14th round and then Jaden Higgins to me someone that started to flash a little bit down the stretch. I think especially when Nico Collins missed time, he's a big bodied red zone guy that they can use. I think he has a full time role in this offense across from Nico Collins and has I think a standalone role that is probably worth kind of a pick in this range. But then you have that upside case of well what if Collins does hurt his hamstring yet again or he misses time. We've seen a ceiling from Jaden Higgins commanding targets in this offense from CJ Stroud. So he was also the top guy on my board, top guy in adp. So just another receiver to add to the add to the squad.
Tom Strachan
Yeah, right now the draft assistant fantasy pro's draft assistant is kind of crying out for somebody to take Alvin Kamara. 53% of experts are suggesting it. We've seen this situation with him. He's turned up to Saints training camp. He has them over a barrel as far as his contract is concerned. He goes off the board as RB55. I'm still not entirely sure that he ends up playing there this year, but willing to in full PPR formats, mix him in a little bit. I took Brian Robinson as my RB5 as yes, my RB5. Just hedging against Bijan Robinson getting all the touchdowns this year. Again, it's probably not the most exciting play. Maybe I could have mixed in a rookie, but as my fifth running back I'm just looking for something that I know what the build is going to give me every week. Andrew for anyone who doesn't know, not only do I write for fantasy pros and do this show and little bits elsewhere, but I also edit a lot of the podcasts for fantasy pros and I don't think I've heard you talk about Travis Hunter at any point this offseason. Where are you at on Travis Hunter who goes off the board as wide receiver 60 to our good friend Haynes. Drafting out of the 107 he has Lamar Jackson, Justin Jefferson, Kenneth Walker, Kyler Murray, Devonta Smith, Teterora McMillan, Baishal Tootin, Sam Laporta, Dalton Kincaid, Mark Andrews, Jaden Reed, Jordan Mason, DeSean Watson, Stefan Diggs and Travis Hunter.
Andrew Erickson
I think that he's a good price right now at this 15th round where even if he is playing limited time wide receiver, a lot of the receivers going in this range are playing limited time roles. We don't know what Juwan Jennings role is going to be in the Vikings offense. Antonio Williams I think is a fun player that could be a slot machine in the commander's office, but he's also a third round pick. Travis Hunter missed the second half of the season last year, but I still think that he might have a role as the starting slot receiver. We'll see what happens with Parker Washington. It's a mess, right and it's hard to figure out how he's going to be used but it seems like we got carried away or the market got carried away with the first quote of the off season when he's going to play more cornerback and we just basically nuked off Travis Hunter as a wide receiver in any way shape or form. But but they have backtracked those quotes. The GM and head coach Liam Cohen, Gladstone basically saying that no his receiver was going to be the same as was last year basically and he's going to be running the Jaden Reed Josh Downs frustrating role but one where he's still going to get a lot of schemed up touches. Obviously the injury concerns are how long can he last if he's also playing full time defensive back. So I think right now he is definitely worth the Darth row in the 15th round. Especially in the best ball format where you don't have to sweat. What happens to what was his usage last week? Do I need to? I mean starting you're sitting Travis Hunter every single week is going to. You're only pulling your hair out trying to figure that out. So I think if you're going to invest in him in any shape or form it is to do it in the 15th round in a best ball format where it just takes one injury to one of these Jaguars wide receivers where man we got to put Travis Hunter on the field again. Parker Washington goes down, we Got to put Travis Hunter back in the field and we know that he's a talented guy. Obviously the, the first round or the top five draft pedigree. He would get his receiver at times last year, especially in his last game.
Tom Strachan
Yeah, well, bunting in the chat saying last year you rightfully roasted him for drafting a cornerback at 107. Good, sir.
Andrew Erickson
Yeah, last year. Yeah. Because it's just like I feel like the bet's kind of like the same. Right. Again, like not the most impressive rookie year, but now instead of being a fifth or sixth round pick, wherever he was last year, now he's a 15th round pick and. Yep. Right.
Tom Strachan
Look, I'm back on the clock here. I've got Josh Allen, Devon Achan, Drake London, Tyler Shook, Chris Olavi, Lad McConkey, DeAndre Swift, George Kittle, Geno Smith, Dallas Goddard, Chris Rodriguez, Jordan Addison Hunter, Henry Keaton, Mitchell, Brian Robinson. I've only taken one wide receiver since round six and that was Jordan Addison. But I have got that trio of Drake, London, Chris Olave, Ladd McConkey. I want to shoot for upside. And when we talk about upside, Isaac Tesla is just packed with upside. Yes. He only made what, like, was it 20 catches, 13 catches? Something like 16 catches is right. 16 catches last year and six of them went for touchdowns. It was an utterly absurd year. I'm not expecting that level of efficiency to continue, but I'm getting a player at wide receiver 65, who the Lions are talking about wanting to get more involved and they are talking about they're hoping he's going to make a second year leap. The Lions offense wasn't overly great last year wasn't really efficient as they dealt with Ben Johnson moving on and having to find themselves and having to really find their identity. The Lions schedule this year is an absolute cupcake. They have the easiest strength of schedule. Their opponents that they play is very much. It's going to set up for some situations where Dan Campbell can re establish the lines and if that leads to them having situations where they're running up the score at the end of games or if they try to take Jameson Williams and Monroe St. Brown off field so they're fre later on in the season, then that means that Isaac Tesla can get back out there. Andrew's now on the clock. His first pick is Manuel Wilson, so his running back room is now Amarian Hampton, Ramondre Stevenson, Rashad White, Jonathan Brooks, Jonah Coleman and Emmanuel Wilson. Obviously plenty of opportunity from Rania Wilson early on in the season, him and Jadarian Price And George Holani look like they're going to be in a little bit of a camp battle to figure out who's going to take the early workload with Zach Charbonnet out. And yeah, if Zach Charbonnet misses a substantial amount this season, it could look a little difficult for him. Andrew, you went with a second year wide receiver. We talked about potential breakouts early on. You just got a guy wide receiver 67 who stacks up with your quarterback. Justin Herbert Sellers on the Trey Harris connection.
Andrew Erickson
This was a player that I actually thought about bringing up when we were talking about some of these second and third year wide receiver breakouts. The Chargers receiver room. I think that collectively we all want Lab McConkey to be that guy for this offense and be the number one player that he was as a rookie. And I think that's very much the most likely scenario. However, it is a brand new office coordinator coming in with Mike McDaniel. And the way that they talk about Trey Harris, this coaching staff really, really likes him, especially what he did as a rookie as a blocker. So he's finding ways to get onto the field. And would it surprise anybody if he were to leapfrog Quinton Johnston on the depth chart? I, I've seen weirder things such as Quentin Johnson scoring eight touchdowns in back to back years and not even finishing as like a top 24 wide receiver. So I think that Trey Harris as a sleeper dark horse wide receiver candidate to break out in his second season. I think it's very much in play here. I was really impressed. I remember somebody drafted Trey Harris in our draft and I was like, man, that was a good pick. And especially he wouldn't even layer. I think it was like in the 19th round and I remember, I like, I like put it away in my brain. I'm like, I gotta remember to move Trey Harris up in my rankings because I think that he's gonna have a much bigger role than he did as a rookie. It's a new offense again. I already have Justin Herbert as my quarterback, so I didn't want to get that stack. We know he can deliver a lot of big play upside and I think he's just going to probably play more than most people are anticipating based on what he just did as a rookie and an offense that looks that office was broken all over the place last year. So Harris I think is someone you keep an eye on especially in these deeper best ball drafts.
Tom Strachan
Yeah, and I went with a wide receiver who's kind of a potential breakout candidate as well in Ryan flournoy entering year three coming off 475 yards on just 40 receptions last year, four touchdowns. The Cowboys with George Pick and CD Lam obviously he's not going to surpass either of them anytime soon, but I think that the Cowboys offense can be good enough to support those three wide receivers and I think that when we get down to this level of the draft draft I'm okay making bets on things like just good offenses. Would I rather take Ryan flournoy at wide receiver 69 or Denzel Boston at wide receiver 70 which was the choice for me and I like Denzel Boston. I think that there's he possibly got a hard time in the NFL draft buildup but having a bet on his quarterback room of DeSean Watson, Shadow Sanders, Dylan Gabriel rather than going Dak Prescott potential MVP candidate if you can put it all together, I'm very much okay with going around Flournoy there. So we are in the round 17. This is super flex tight end premium. As we've talked about. We need a good balance of running backs and quarterbacks. There's been some great builds in here, some interesting ones for team out of five. Hole has only taken one wide receiver since round seven. They went with six running backs in seven selections. I've got Josh Allen, Devon Achan, Drake London, Tyler Shuck, Chris Olave, Ladd McConkey, DeAndre Swift, George Kittle, Gino Smith, Dallas Goddard, Chris Rodriguez, Jordan, Addison Hunter, Henry Keaton, Mitchell, Brian Robinson, Isaac Tesla and Ryan Flournoy. I think I'm probably done at wide receiver now that I've got six. I might pick one. If the right one falls to me, potentially looking at what will be left in the quarterback or tight end rooms. Adding another couple of running backs. Andrew, you're sitting here with Drake Mayer, Maureen Hampton, Justin Herbert, Zay Flowers, Tyler Warren, Jalen Waddle, Mike Evans, Fernando Mendoza. The beautifully auto picked from Andre Stevenson who will be the key to best ball this year now that you've done that, Rashad White, Jonathan Brooks, Greg dulcich@titan21 Very bullish pick. Romeo Dubs, Jonah Coleman, Jaden Higgins, Emmanuel Wilson and Trey Harris. What do you feel like you need to land this?
Andrew Erickson
I do want another tight end added to my team because I only have two guys so Dulcich and Tyler Warren. So I want to see if I can grab another one. Maybe just somebody to stack with one of my quarterbacks potentially. There's a couple guys out there that I could take. The Patriots rookie tight end. I think that something that's kind of gone under the radar that was announced a couple weeks ago was Patriots signed a blocking tight end this off season, Julian Hill. He went on injured reserve very early in the off season. So does that give Eli Raridan a little bit of an opportunity to see more snaps in this Patriots offense alongside Hunter Henry? Is he now potentially a starter for enough in the chat saying stay away from Eli Raridon at all costs.
Tom Strachan
Well you already took Haynes is a big Greg Dulcich fan and now you're going to take Eli Rarer than like this is fists are going to be flung.
Andrew Erickson
So tight end I could use some help and then I think running back receiver. It's similar to your point. I would probably want to take more stabs at running back but again I think for me it's I kind of want to just draft players I like at this point, especially with this late in the draft. I feel good about quarterbacks. We're not going to add any of these jabronis that are left here not feeling great about any and I already feel pretty good about three guys I have on my roster. So that's kind of what I'm going to be looking out for.
Tom Strachan
The data does point towards four quarterback builds being better, but obviously there's so much variance at quarterback and like you can. You can filter these kind of results historically based on the position, but you can't filter is Josh Allen included in that build? Is Drake may include in that kind of build. So I tend to keep this sort of stuff in mind. I think that you know, if you go four quarterbacks and wait until after round six for your fit your third quarterback, that can quite often set you up quite well. So that's. That's kind of what I've learned into. I'll keep an eye on the quarterback room. I'll keep an eye on the tight end room. Brandon Ayuk is at the top of the wide receiver selection though and the draft assistants point towards 25 of experts would say that's pick how far does Brandon Iuk have to fall for you to consider him? His ADP is sitting at 213th overall and we are kind of getting deep down into round 18 now.
Andrew Erickson
He's probably a good pick at this point, right? Because the minute that he signs with the team, whatever, I think that we're always afraid to take a guy that just might not play or just it's like he's like totally done with football. Just like totally checked out. We're seeing Asmdev in the chat saying isn't he going to Washington? Is there, is there more news about
Tom Strachan
I've not seen anything recent today. I mean, he was pictured on Instagram saying, you know, wearing the commander's hat. But I think it's wishcasting from his part at the minute. Like we heard reports a few weeks back that they tried reaching out to him and gotten nowhere with it. So it's tricky to project it at this point. I think that the closer it gets to training camp as well, the harder it gets to have any faith in him really doing things right. Like for me, Brandon Aiyuk is a player who when the situation has been perfect, he's pulled it all together and when everything's kind of fell to him, it's been fine and but now you're going to throw him into an off season where he's not trained. I mean, he's not played in a long time. He's not been healthy for a long time. He's not been particularly great. Like he had the incredible season and then there was regression, then there were injuries and now you're going to throw him to potentially to a new team. Yes, Jayden Daniels and him have a relationship, but I'm not sure that I can count on that being enough to really buy back in. Shout Ex Yashi, one of the new followers over here on Twitch. Remember myself and Andrew, we're going to be here every two weeks drafting these best ball teams and answering all your fantasy football questions. We've got all the time in the world to help you good people who come and join us over here. So if you're listening on the podcast feed, make sure in two weeks time you come and join us. And we will be drafting somewhere. We'll be drafting and shooting for those top prizes. $100,000 in this one drops all the way down to 15k for second place though. So we need to shoot for the 1% scenarios or 1 in 84 scenario. The final will be for this one. Andrew does take Brandon Ayuk as wide receiver 75 and then follows it up with Eli Radon, the tight end for the New England Patriots. Haynes is going to be rather annoyed about that, but Haynes asks in the chat, if he signs for Washington tomorrow, where would he go in this draft next week? Round 13. So looking at the round 13, why wide receivers? You're talking like wide receiver 49 to wide receiver 55 range. The guys who went in this draft with Romeo Dubs, Xavier Worthy, Casey Concepcion, Khalil Shakir, Matthew Golden, Calvin Ridley, Rashid Shahid, Andrew would You take Brandon Ayuk on the Washington Commanders ahead of Rashid Shahid at wide receiver, 55.
Andrew Erickson
I don't think so. I think I'd still probably take Rasheed Shahid. Because you were laying it out perfectly. Because what state is he even in right now? Like, what type of player are we gonna get? Is the Ayuk of an old even relevant anymore? I think we talked about this on the tailgate show. Where is he just following the, like, Deontay Johnson type of, like, career trajectory, where it's like, yeah, this guy was really good.
Tom Strachan
Who, by the way, is working out. Johnson is ready for a comeback. Yeah, but this is the thing we're not seeing. We're seeing comeback videos from Deontay Johnson, who played his way out of the league and couldn't get a team towards the end of last season. But you're not getting that from Brandon iu. You're seeing pictures of him flashing cash, buying watches, like, you know, he's being arrested for speeding. This is not the good vibes. Like, when you want to make the comeback, when you want the good contract, you need the workout videos. You need a channel. Derrick Henry. But instead, I mean, even. Even going back to Antonio Brown, Antonio Brown was posting workout videos when he was having his issues. So I just find it incredibly difficult to push him up that high. I wouldn't be taking him. I think I'm gonna say it's the Travis Hunter line. Wide receiver, 60. Throw him in the mix with Omar Cooper, Travis Hunter, Jalen McMillan, Juwan Jennings, Antonio Williams, Jaden Higgins. Somewhere around that is where I think that I would bump him in my rankings. Do you feel like that's a better place for him or would you go lower still or higher?
Andrew Erickson
I think that's probably the right range he's in. I think that the point that Chat's trying to make is he's just gonna increase, right? He's gonna fly up rankings if he ends up signing anywhere. So right now, where it seems like the sentiment around him is never gonna play football ever again. Which, yeah, that's possible, but if we're being realistic, if he has any. So if he's. He's even 70% of the same guy, he's probably still better than everyone on the Dolphins roster. Like, at wide receiver. Look at the Raiders roster, right? Another team where you could drop him in and, wow, is he the number one wide receiver? Obviously, Brock Bowers is the number one target, but I. I still think that if Ayuka is healthy and can play, obviously he's definitely rubbed some teams the wrong way so he won't end up going there. But if he signs with the Commanders tomorrow, his ADP is going to be skyrocketing. So when. When nobody wants a certain player, this is usually the time to buy. And again it doesn't. It never feels good like making the click, right? Like yeah, I'm so confident in Brandon iuk but you know, you gotta weigh some of the risk and right now there's really. I mean it's 18th round pick, right. A lot of these guys are going to do anything anyway. At least we know IUK at one point when he's been on the field. High level, elite level producer from an efficiency standpoint.
Tom Strachan
Yeah. And awesome Devon chat saying, I thought the speeding thing was back in December. So IUK is perfectly fine now. Yeah, I mean he should be fine. Of course. Course the league could come in and give him a a suspension if they wanted to. Generally that kind of thing would be quite mediocre. And it's not like I expect him to be making big strides at the beginning of the season anyway. So yeah, my general vibe is that I'm kind of out on Brandon Ayuk. I think there's, you know, he's one of those players like Tyree Kill that could have the upside. But I think I'd rather just take Keenan Allen. I think the way that Keenan Allen plays in the way that Keenan Allen has looked after himself, I'm happier making that bet than those guys. We are in to the final round, round 20. After this we will go through what the draft assistant says about our teams and take a look through all that. Rashad Bateman goes off the board to Haynes like an absolute knife in my heart stopping me from taking a guy at wide receiver 82 who is going to have a good season. The Ravens have talked about how they expect him to have a good season as wide receiver 2 in their offense. AD Mitchell, Jalen Noel, Jeremy Bernard, Mason Taylor. Some of the other names going in this range. Ty Simpson goes to the team out of 111 who has Matthew Stafford, Jared Goff and Ty Simpson just collecting any quarterback who's been near LA. Jimmy Garoppolo would have been the 21st round pick I guess there and then. Yes, Bunting finishes his draft with Michael Trigg. Said that that last pick was going to be for you Ericsson. He is a tight end room Veronde Gadsden, Chigukonkwo, Oscar Delp and Michael Trigg. Like I mean talk about some young guys who could really have a lot of varying outputs. I am one pick away. I went Kirk Cousins on my last pick, four quarterback and four tight end build on this one. I've got six, six wide receivers. I could do with a running back or a tight end here. Kind of looking at Michael Mayer, Demon Claiborne, Christian Kirk, Keisha Booty, who obviously is still involved in lots of trade rumors. Keenan Allen, who I mentioned, who I think is quite a fun choice. Donald Washington, who signed the contract extension with the Steelers last week. Tory Horton, who I think is quite fun. I'm gonna go back to a guy that last year I was clicking a decent bit. It didn't pan out last year, but hey, just because a rookie doesn't pan out in year one and just because the running back ahead of him stayed healthy last year, it doesn't mean that it's going to happen again. So let's go. DJ Giddens. I still believe my draft Josh Allen, Devonor Chan, Drake London, Tyler Shook, Chris Olave, LAD McConkey, wide receiver 1 overall. DeAndre Swift, George Kittle, Gino Smith, Dallas Got it. Chris Rodriguez, Jordan Addison, Hunter, Henry Keaton, Mitchell, Brian Robinson, Isaac Tesla, Ryan Flournoy, Colby Parkinson, Kirk Cousins, D.J. giddens, a very veteran build this one. No rookie upside. But look, I'm just saying, you know what, everyone crapped all over rookie class for so long. I'm not going to believe that all of a sudden I need to take them when I had some really nice values elsewhere. I like my wide receiver room with Drake, London, Chris Olave, Ladd McConkey, Jordan, Addison, Tesla around Flournoy. If I can get a couple of spike weeks out of him, that's fine. I think the volume that I'm getting at running back between Devon Achan, Deandre Swift is going to be great. Then you throw in a touchdown upside guy like Chris Rodriguez, you throw in lightning upside of Keaton Mitchell. I can absolutely work with that. George Kittle, tight end 10 overall. We can make that work. Dallas Goddard, Hunter Henry, Colby, Parkinson, all of that can come together, leaving one last pick on the clock and it is Mr. Andrew Erickson who started the draft off with the big stand on your takes. Pick of Drake May, QB1 overall. Followed it up with Amarian Hampton, Justin Herbert, Zay Flowers, Tyler Warren, Jalen Waddle, Mike Evans, Fernando Mendoza, Auto picking Mondre Stevenson, Rashad White, Jonathan Brooks, Greg Dulcich, Romeo Dubs, Jonah Coleman, Jaden Higgins, Emmanuel Wilson, Trey Harris, Brandon Ayuk, Eli Radon at tight end 37 and rounds it out with Caleb Johnson. Andrew, how are you feeling?
Andrew Erickson
We're not. We're not dead yet. That's how I feel about Caleb Johnson. But that pick may be dead on arrival. But hey, Rico Dowdle gets banged up. Jalen Warren's never been a bell cow. New coach maybe new opportunity 20th round. We'll see how things shake out. But we'll see what the. See what the. The wizard the. The draft analysis says about our teams here.
Tom Strachan
Yeah. In case you missed it, at the start of a draft, we were syncing today's draft over on FFPC with the draft assistance so it shows the board in real times. This, this is the kind of analysis that you can get if you want to catch more of this. I do a article series that's pretty much from now until the season, how to draft from each individual slot where I talk through my targets and how I want to approach each slot. And at the end of it, we get into a mock draft. Andrew, I seem to be a little bit higher up in those projected standings than yourself.
Andrew Erickson
Looks like it. Yeah. It looks like you finished exactly where you picked at third overall. Mark Riggs 18 was number one. Bunting. Shout out bunting. I came in at seventh. So middle of the pack, Archie's toys. And then rounding out the coming in the caboose, we got Swiss cheese 10 with the last ranking. So yeah, like you said Tom, a lot of great stuff here you can look after you draft your team if you sync it up with league sync. Using the draft assistant gives you a lot of advice. Talk about your top players. You can look at some of the betting lines giving you what if scenarios. If I drafted Jackson Dart 212 draft running back later, I would have scored 91 points more. So really helping you in hindsight how I could have improved my roster. Steals, reaches, hot take. Andrew Erickson, a fans bros likes your draft more than any other expert. All right, let's go.
Tom Strachan
Surprised to hear that one. Let's look. Yeah. Producer the sale saying let's get to the bit that everyone wants though. Let's look at the steals and reaches.
Andrew Erickson
Yeah. So let's see. So for you, Tom Jordan Addison was a steal where you got him in the 12th round. Higgins and Iuk were my two steals.
Tom Strachan
Nice, nice.
Andrew Erickson
15th and 18th round and then let's see reaches. I got a lot of reaches. Greg Dulcich, most notably Greg Dulcich was a. A reach for me. Tyler Warren, Fernando, Jonathan Brooks. Jonathan Brooks. But you reached out Chris Rodriguez.
Tom Strachan
So yeah, I mean and that's definitely an uninspiring one taking Geno. When you take these veterans and they are the uninspiring players like that, it always feels a little bit Drake May. Yeah, Drake May. Obviously your 101 ranking definitely helping fluff that one up a little bit. But yes, this was a very fun draft. This episode features a live, in-depth walkthrough of an FFPC $35 Best Ball Superflex Draft (with Tight End Premium scoring and a $100,000 top prize). Hosts Tom Strachan and Andrew Erickson draft live, break down their strategies, offer player analysis, and discuss positional values while interacting with a vibrant Twitch chat. The focus is on expert reasoning behind each pick, roster construction, and “conviction drafting” in a competitive, top-heavy tournament environment.
“Maybe I’m stretching it a little here, but ... I could see Drake May flirting with 35 or 40 passing touchdowns...I wouldn’t be surprised if next year he’s the consensus 1.01 in Superflex.” (Andrew, 06:46)
“It becomes too easy sometimes to just take the person who’s done it. And Josh Allen has done it so consistently...but I know you’re going to stand on your conviction.” (Tom, 07:32)
“In tight end premium ... you really want guys that aren’t the touchdown dependent players...it’s really guys that...could you see him having 6, 7, 8 catches in a particular contest?” (Andrew, 19:01)
“If he doesn’t hit this season, I think he’s at least going to return where you drafted him ... The peripherals are there … one year he has that touchdown season.” (Andrew, 20:51)
“If you’re a Drake London guy, you actually prefer Penix ... Tua’s the driver of Bijan Robinson getting 8, 9, 10 targets potentially a game.” (Andrew, 14:13)
“If you go four quarterbacks and wait until after round six … that can quite often set you up quite well.” (Tom, 75:34)
This episode offers a live, expert guide to advanced best ball drafting. The hosts explain positional premiums, manage positional runs, and balance conviction with adaptability—all while debating, justifying, and sometimes defending their picks. If you’re looking for in-draft strategy, roster construction tips, and actionable sleeper picks for advanced FFPC best ball leagues, this is a must-listen (or read) episode.
