Welcome in, everybody to Fantasy pros. This is the fantasy football podcast. It is me, Joey P. Joe P. Zipia. We've got another mock draft show for you today. Things are moving. There's buzz all happening everywhere. We've got not one, but two rounds. And of course, to help us make the picks for today's draft, Dbro, Derrick Brown, the king of bros, My Patty cakes. Pat Fitz Morris. And somebody very smart in the room today that we were very excited. Who could join us? He comes all the way from Fantasy Points. We love the work he does over there. Theo Greminger is joining us as our special guest. Theo, it is great to see you, my friend. I appreciate you hanging out with us today, making the picks with the boys and then pretty much you're getting on a jet plane in like 24 hours to get out of Dodge. I know what that life is like when you got to record a million shows before you leave. Are you up to 70 or 80? How many are you doing here before you're out the door?
Theo Greminger
I'm not. I'm not 100%. I'm trying to cram in a few, but there's some moving parts to it. But, yeah, really excited to chop it up with you guys and do this mock draft. This should be a lot of fun.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
Patty's here, dbro's here. Everybody's here. Make sure you're always here to subscribe to the channel. Drop your comments below. We love having you here. And if you love football, and I know you do, we just recorded a new episode of the Tailgate. Andrew Erickson, Derek Brown, and myself, we talked about some of the sleeper guys in the NFL draft that we like. So they may or may not be taken today. We'll see. Also on top of that, the latest Kirk Cousins news that dropped. We broke it all down for you. The puka Nakua stuff. We talked about that. And we talked about which of the retread quarterbacks could have the best path to a super Bowl a la Sam Darnold last year. So if you want all of that, go right to YouTube, subscribe to Tailgate again. You can search in there. Tailgate NFL. It'll pop right up. You'll see our beautiful faces, or at least my beautiful face and then Derek's face next to it. And then subscribe to the channel there. And of course we love having you for all things NFL here on the podcast. So, gentlemen, we've done this a million times already and we're going to do it again because, well, Fernando Mendoza still seems like the number one overall pick. Theo, I'm going to start with you here on this one. Just get your Fernando take because that's what we'd like to do. We get the guest making their Fernando take. Do you think in any way, shape or form this Kirk Cousins deal changes any dynamic here? Not just about maybe I'm not starting, but could the Raiders even entertain moving out of one for a bunch of picks this year and maybe next year for a quarterback? Or is it just Fernando?
Theo Greminger
No, I think they're completely locked in and I think playing the next year game, especially when you have the first overall pick, is a dangerous game to play. Even if we think there's going to be a number of quarterbacks. Fernando Mendoza looks really locked in. Big fan of him coming in at 236 pounds at the NFL combine. We thought he was going to be maybe lighter than 225 shows. He's really been putting in the work. Some impressive stuff from Indiana pro day. I think they're completely locked in. The Clint Kubiak hire combined with Fernando Mendoza, he's in a really good spot. Cousins gives them a solid backup quarterback and somebody who I think Mendoza can learn from. And if they really want to slow play him, give Cousins a couple starts to start out the season. I don't anticipate that, but I guess that could be technically in the wheelhouse. But I think Mendoza starts game one in the NFL and I think he's gonna be pretty good.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
All right, so if you want the Kirk Cousins take from Derrick Brown, which is very interesting, go to the tailgate. Patty, anything to add real quick after the Kirk Cousins news this morning that dropped or we just like Fernando mania
Pat Fitz Morris
still, no matter what we I just find it amusing that we know how much Fernando likes to, you know, give a shout out to God in post game interviews and we know Kirk Cousins is a good God fearing man. So it's just kind of funny that the most pious QB in the league is located In Las Vegas room.
Derrick Brown
That is with both of them. With Vegas, who gets a neck tattoo first?
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
Oh, I'm gonna go for it.
Theo Greminger
That's a good one.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
Gonna go, Fernando. Just because his teammates, you know, I'm just a good sport and G whiz, you know, I didn't, I didn't throw for 300 yards today. I said I would. So I'm gonna go get that neck tattoo. I think that's what we do. All right, let's really start the draft now with the second pick, the New York Jets. That pick belongs to you, Theo. So where are you going here for the New York jets at 2?
Theo Greminger
Yeah, I think it's Arvel Reese and I think that's the way it's sort of looking. A number of the jets beat reporters are reporting that. I live on Long island, and it seems like that's sort of the way that people connected to the team think they're going to lean into. I think there's a couple of guys in play. I think David Bailey is still very much in consideration, but ultimately a lot of teams are going to be chasing this. Can I get the next Micah Parsons? Go with this incredibly athletic, versatile player with a little bit of room to run in his profile in Arville Reese over the like, finished product in Bailey. So I think it's going to be Arville Reese off the board at the 102.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
Yeah, that seems to be where the last couple drafts we've been doing. It seems like Arval Reese every time, which clearly a very good pick. And for a defensive minded head coach, no matter how long he might be there certainly a great way to kind of remake your defense. Number three, the Arizona Cardinals are up next. That puts Derek Brown on the clock for, for the third pick.
Derrick Brown
Well, Jonah Williams still was a free agent. I'll go with the chalk pick here. Right tackle Francis Minoa out of Miami. I think there's still a way where Arizona could go edge or could just go bpa. But I'll go Minoa here.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
That means that David Bailey is still floating around there. Pat, do you want to scoop him up at 4 for the Titans?
Pat Fitz Morris
We are going to scoop up David Bailey for the Titans. Joe, I know Jeremiah Love is often being mocked to the Titans at number four. I understand the appeal and there's a good case to be made that drafting Jeremiah Love would help take some of the pressure off your young quarterback, Cam Ward, last year's number one overall pick. I just can't do it. The Titans hired a head coach, Robert Sala. Who's a defensive mastermind. Titans GM Mike Borgonzi traded Tavandre Sweat to the jets to get edge rusher Jermaine Johnson. But the Titans pass rush still needs more juice. So Tennessee is going to take David Bailey, probably the best pure pass rusher in the draft, sort of fully formed coming into the league, even though he's a young player. Let Robert Sala cook. Let's give him a player who can mess up opponents passing games.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
All right, there you have it. So we'll see how far now Love falls because he doesn't go to Tennessee, he doesn't go to Arizona. He's been in some of those mocks very early. Not just here, but in some other places too. So that puts the Giants back up with Theo for the fifth pick. I love when the New York teams, Theo are all picking the top five. It makes me smile. It's fun.
Theo Greminger
Yeah, it's fun. It's fun. It's fun in a way and it's sad in a way as well.
Derrick Brown
It is.
Theo Greminger
Yeah, you guys. Exactly. Giants, Giants, OTC here. I think this is sort of like an enviable position for them because I think they're really into Sonny Styles, I think they're really into Jeremiah Love. But I think ultimately this is the Caleb Downs pick. We sort of overthink Caleb Downs, but he's probably the best player in this draft on the defensive side of the ball and, and maybe the best player in this draft, period. I think the, the Giants are going to take him at 5. I think like the fact that he's a safety and they're having to push him up, I think that kind of goes out the window. They've got a really strong front seven. Adding a player of this level in the back after hiring Harbaugh sort of like amplifies their win now moment and I think it really gets them up to speed. They become a real threat in the NFC east behind the strength of their defense. And year two Jackson Dart and Harbaugh sort of gets this thing fast tracked with Caleb Downs.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
I could not agree more with you, Theo. I think that the New York Giants offensively have all the pieces. They just need some better structure around them. I think they're going to get that. And then on the defense side of the football, you're right. Pass rush is good. Let's fix that back level here and improve everything right away. Harbaugh regimes have taken Kyle Hamilton, you know, with the first round pick before, so why not take another safety here? I, I love it. I think it's exactly the right pick. Whether the Giants do that, we'll see. But I think Theo's onto something there. Debro, what are we on to here with Cleveland at 6 here with them on the clock?
Derrick Brown
Well, seems like we're going to have a quarterback competition. Whether it's Shador Sanders or DeSean Watson under center next year, it's definitive that Cleveland has two glaring needs walking into the NFL draft. One being left tackle and the other being wide receiver. We've done a lot of the tackle picks at six. I want to switch things up here and give whoever is the quarterback a true wide receiver. One, because Jerry Judy is not that Carnell Tate wide receiver at Ohio State. Come on down, baby.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
Let's go. Ohio State boys staying in Cleveland too. But dbro, you know, I gotta say, I'm excited for Tate. Know if I'm excited for him with Watson or Shador Sanders necessarily. So how does that impact his fantasy value? Is this a guy that, because he goes there with that quarterback situation in flux, actually is not just because he's the first wide receiver off the board. He might not be the best wide receiver for fantasy off the board in rookie drafts.
Derrick Brown
I'm still gonna be in on Tate because I think regardless, the passing volume will be or at least the target volume would be there because really it's. He's competing with Harold Fannin Jr. For the number one spot of the Targum Total poll there. So it. Whether it's.
Pat Fitz Morris
I would feel a lot better if
Derrick Brown
it's Shador Sanders throwing the ball out instead of desean Watson, but either way, targets are targets. Man, I let people overthink it. I'm not going to.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
All right, Pat, seventh pick here, Washington Commanders. I mean, it just feels like we should keep going. Ohio State, right? I mean, we just. Let's keep. Let's just drain all the Ohio State players we possibly can in the first 10 picks.
Pat Fitz Morris
Make it three straight Buckeyes. Off the board with Sunny Styles, linebacker Ohio State. Six five, 244 pounds, 4.46 speed, a 43 and a half inch vertical jump, a perfect 10 relative athletic score. Sonny Styles can rush the passer. He can play, run the run sideline to sideline, and he can cover. This guy's a special linebacker prospect. He's going to join Leo Chanel and Frankie Louvu to give Washington one of the best sets of linebackers in the league. And you know, we've Theo over here building up the Giants defense. Their division rivals in Washington have to keep pass.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
I Think that division is going to be very wide open next year. It's going to be. The Eagles are clearly kind of coming back to the pack a little bit. Giants getting Harbaugh. I think Washington with a healthy Jaden Daniels is a little bit different probably. And then, you know, who knows, who knows? Maybe things will change a little bit in that division when we'll see where the Cowboys are. They always play the pack, don't they? New Orleans at 8. Theo, we've talked a lot about the Saints being kind of a team that can have their cake and eat it too. At this pick, they could really kind of go BPA if they want. They could take a luxury pick if they want. They're still probably a little ways away from where they want to be, even though last year they made a lot of progress. So with all that being said here with a top 10 pick, what do you think the Saints should do here?
Theo Greminger
I think they view themselves as a real contender to win this division this year. I think they're feeling really pretty good about things in New Orleans. I think they're actually a wild card team to trade up if Arizona in fact trades back. I think New Orleans is not really talked about, but I think they could maybe fall in love with one of these edge rushers and get their selection at three. So I think that might end up happening. In this scenario, though I think there's going to be a little bit of buyer's remorse with Jeremiah Love still on the board after the contract they gave to Travis etn. So they probably don't go running back here despite Love still being there. It's going to be Ruben Bain based on Bailey Reese being off the board here. Bane is, is not perfect. I mean, the, the wingspan concerns, little things like that, but when you watch him on film, he's a true difference maker up front and one that I think New Orleans is going to be really, really happy they selected. So I think Bane ends up becoming one of the better values so far in this draft when he falls to 8 overall. Saints take him right here.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
Well, I remember right after the national championship game they were discussions of him at two, so I feel like you get him at eight, I think you're pretty happy right there. The ninth pick here belongs to the Kansas City Chiefs. Not something we've said very often a top 10 pick for the Chiefs. So Debro, do they go on the offensive side or do they replace Trent McDuffie who they traded away in a deal with the Rams earlier this offseason?
Derrick Brown
There's A lot of ways they could go here. I mean, the board is wide open. They could go King and Sadiq. They could go edge. I'm going to give them cornerback Mansur Durlaine out of lsu. They signed Cater Kohu and they still have Christian Fulton. Adding a player like Delane would round out their secondary and give them a guy that can not only play zone, but he can man up. He could shadow if you need him to as well.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
All right, closing out the top 10, the Cincinnati Bengals. Pat Fitz Morris, you have the pick here and there is a running back still on the board. Yeah.
Pat Fitz Morris
The way this draft has fallen is just a worst case scenario for the Bengals. They'd be happy to take any of the top six defensive players in this draft for Bell, Reese, David Bailey, Sonny Styles, Caleb Downs, Ruben Ban, Mansour, Delaine. They need four of the first nine picks to be offensive players, and so far we've only seen three offensive players selected. So Jeremiah Love unexpectedly still on the board. Bengals are going to pivot hard and they're going to take Jeremiah Love themselves. Even though I think their first choice, if things felt like this, they would be working the phones trying to get out of this pick. I know the Bengals have some big holes on defense, but they've signed Brian Cook at safety, Jonathan Allen at defensive tackle, Boye Maffe on the edge. And I promise you that with Jeremiah Love as the picket, number 10, day two of the Bengals draft is going to be all about defense. I like Chase Brown, but Jeremiah Love is going to be rocket fuel for what's already one of the best offenses in the league. And yes, this defense still needs a lot of work, but the Cincinnati offense is going to fly up and down the field and we'll see if other offenses can keep up. I know this will not be a universally beloved pick, but with the way things fell, I think you can kind of justify taking arguably the best player in this entire draft at number 10. But I'd love to hear from Bengals fans in the YouTube comments.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
Oh, I think you will.
Pat Fitz Morris
Yeah, they're going to heckle and curse me, I'm sure in some cases. But let's hear it.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
Man, he's been a lightning rod his entire career. He's Pat Vince Morris, everybody. Make sure you add him everywhere and. And give him your. Your grief. Look, you can mad about taking the best. He can't be mad about the piece on the board. Right, But I get it. Like, defensively you've still got a lot of issues, got a lot of problems, but there's still more picks to go in the draft. You go figure that out. But you know, to the credit of you guys making the picks that you have here, the defensive side of the football is hot in this draft and there's some really premium players who we expect to go in the top 10. The order in which they go will dictate what the Bengals will be left with. But a really interesting scenario there where, hey, if you're just looking at the rest of the board and love is the best player you have on it, you take the best player you have on it. That's how teams succeed in the NFL in the NFL Draft. All right, let's go to number 11 here with Miami. So new head coach, new quarterback. Lots of new here, Theo. So what do you give them next here as their first pick?
Theo Greminger
I'm still shook up because my Chase Brown dynasty shares just got annihilated and dusted by that. They could trade him.
Derrick Brown
They could trade him. Theo, if Chase Brown is on the move and during the draft, they could trade him. Seattle needs a running back. We shall see.
Theo Greminger
Yeah, I think, I think there could be kind of shades of DeAndre Swift traded after Detroit selected Jameer Gibbs years ago and we could end up letting Chase Brown also do for a contract extension. So he'd become a very sought after running back. But yeah, hard to. Hard to like a landing spot that doesn't involve having Joe Burrow as his quarterback in an offense that's always in shootouts. But Miami's seems like wide open at 11 and I think them taking a wide receiver here would make a ton of sense. I think if Mansour Delaney was on the on the board, I think they would scoop him up. But they have so many picks and so many needs that I think ultimately it becomes best player available. And I think the best player still available in our draft is Vega Ioanni, the guard from Penn State who I think might be the best offensive lineman in this draft class. And I think is player that could be selected even higher than this one. I think his range of outcomes might be a little bit lower, but there's going to be teams that have him extremely high on their big board. It's a plug and play all pro interior lineman that sort of helps them get this thing going. Protects Malik Willis on an offense that's going to be very, very run heavy this year. So I think going with the interior lineman makes some sense for Miami and really it's just a best player available pick.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
Yeah, look early on teams always serve themselves especially Teams that are rebuilding things start in the trenches, you know, start in the trenches, get the offensive line set up, get the defensive line set up and then build out through there. Especially if you think you have your quarterback protect your quarterback. Number 12, the Dallas Cowboys DBRO. What are the Cowboys do here with this pick?
Derrick Brown
Well, Jamar McCoy went out, ran a 4, 3, 8, 40, proved that the ACL recovery is going well. Let's send him to Dallas. Man, this kicks Duron Bland back to nickel and helps solidify a Dallas secondary that really could use the juice.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
Patty, you are up next. So I feel like another lightning rod pick could be here. Who knows? The rams acquired the 13th overall pick from the Atlanta Falcons last year. So what do they do with it? Especially now? Maybe some of the calculus of long term investment of Pukinakua. Maybe not be as bright as it was maybe two months ago.
Pat Fitz Morris
Yeah, the Rams are going to take Makai Lemon, the wide receiver from usc. I feel like it's become kind of a chalk pick. I mean, they could take Jordan Tyson here, but I feel like you get a little bit more safety with Lemon given some of the injury issues Tyson has had in the past. Devonte Adams is 33 entering the final year of his contract. Puka Nakua also entering the final year of his contract. And now he's got this off field drama coming out of rehab. Lemon gives the Rams another high quality receiver and keeps Matthew Stafford awash in pass cashing weaponry. So insurance and you know, you're, you're fortifying one of the better passing games in the league.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
All right, works for me at 14. The Baltimore Ravens are up next. Theo, obviously new regime there. So what direction do you think they go with this pick?
Theo Greminger
Yeah, this pick seems kind of wide open. I think Baltimore could also go wide receiver here. I think they could go with an edge rusher, but I think ultimately they go offensive line. We'll, we'll continue the run online. I think it will probably see some of these next few picks, but Spencer Fano from, from Utah, ability to play tackle, can also kick it inside at guard. Just a really strong prospect and I think another good value here for Baltimore.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
Yeah, Fano, I think, I think. I agree. I was gonna say he's, he's a pick that not only is he versatile, but I think in a lot of ways safe. Like if you're like, all right, this is a piece that you feel good about that maybe there's, there's wrong picks in the first round sometimes. I don't think anyone's Gonna be wrong about him. He feels like these guys just gonna play in the NFL for 10 years.
Theo Greminger
It's a very, very Baltimore RA selection, you know, like the pragmatic one.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
It is, yeah. New boss, same as the old boss. 15. Tampa Bay Buccaneers are up. Debro. They did lose linebacker this off season to retirement franchise guy. It's funny because they lost their leader on the defensive side and the office inside led Mike Evans too, in one off season. So I don't know how you begin to replace that. But in terms of talent, certainly pass rush would seem like something Tampa would like to get.
Derrick Brown
Absolutely. Let's give him some age and a grizzled collegiate veteran. And Akeem Mezador edge out of Miami. I'm joking. I mean, he's older for a prospect, but he's definitely not old. But Tampa Bay needs to address the pass rush. 7th lowest pass rate last year despite being 4th and blitz rate. So edge linebacker, somebody to help rush the passer. This definitely helps Tampa Bay.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
All right, next up here, we're going to go back to Pat Fitz Morris with this next selection here for the New York jets, one of their many picks in this draft. So this is the second of the first rounders they have, so they already went with the best guy at Arville Reese on the defensive side. So do we stay on defense, Pat, or are we going the offensive side of the football for the second one?
Pat Fitz Morris
This time it's going to be offense. It's going to be Jordan Tyson, wide receiver, Arizona State. The jets could use more receiving help. Garrett Wilson is terrific. Adnai Mitchell is intriguing. But let's give them the talented Jordan Tyson. There are some people who think Tyson might be the best receiver in this draft. He's the last of the big three still on the board. And we are setting the table for whichever quarterback the jets select in the first round. The 2027 draft to be their QB of the future.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
All right, so there you go. Another wide receiver there for the Jets. Room that was pretty vacant and they made some deals last season, but still you want somebody else with Garrett Wilson on the other side. Next up, the Detroit Lions at 17. Theo, the Lions need some better health in 2026, certainly. What else do they need with this selection?
Theo Greminger
Yeah, I think this is going to come down to Edge rusher versus offensive line. But I think with Monroe Freeling still on the board, this is an easy pick for them, especially with Messador now gone. So I think Monroe Freeling, big tackle out of Georgia, a player that could also go there's a couple of scenarios where he goes inside the top 10, but I think ultimately this is about where he belongs. The somewhere in the teens. And I think Detroit would be really, really happy with this selection. So offensive tackle Monroe Freeling out of
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
Georgia, their division mates, the Minnesota vikings. Pick at 18d Bro, what do you have in store for them?
Derrick Brown
I'm just going to go chalk here because I think it's the right pick. Dylan the Animan safety out of Oregon. The ball production, the athleticism, they are freaky. They have a hole there with Harrison Smith likely retiring. So I know it's chalky, but I think it's right.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
Pat, what's right for the Carolina Panthers at 19?
Pat Fitz Morris
Kaden Proctor, offensive lineman, Alabama. There is some buzz that Kaden Proctor could go much higher than this and I understand why. Started for Alabama as a freshman. Ton of potential, just rare combination of size and athleticism. 6 7, 366 pounds and athletic enough that Alabama gave him some goal line carries last year. 32 inch vertical jump for a dude who weighs 366 pounds. So if Proctor doesn't have the footwork to play tackle in the NFL, he it will at the very least be an above average guard.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
Okay. All right, next up here, back to Theo with a pick for the Dallas Cowboys. So Theo, this is the Cowboys pick at 20. So where do you want to put them next?
Theo Greminger
Yeah, so Debro took Jermad McCoy at 12, which a selection I really, really like. I think that they probably go defense, defense with these two selections and I think they go with TJ Parker here at 20. Parker sort of reminds me a little bit of like Jordan Tyson where it's a guy that we've been talking about for so long with evaluating NFL tackle, NFL talent that it's like prospect fatigue. But I think NFL teams haven't really forgotten about him. I think he's going to go higher than several mock drafts that I've seen. 20 feels like a real value. 63265. Athletic, very productive player early on at Clemson and still had some really, really strong games this past year for them. So I think he's another just draft them plug and play and Dallas walks away with two really, really good ones here at 12 and 20.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
Oh, good draft. Good draft for the Dallas Cowboys so far. All right, Pittsburgh Steelers, let's talk about their selection. Another team. So many teams here with new coaches too to talk about. Uh, so what direction you think the Pittsburgh Steelers want to go in now that we are in the Mike McCarthy era?
Derrick Brown
Dbro A lot of ways I think you could justify a wide receiver D tackle. A lot of places I'm going to take, give them Caleb Lomu, offensive tackle out of Utah. And what I want to highlight here is Broderick Jones has the fifth year option. If they don't pick that up, he could be gone after this year. This year, I mean, you could still kick Lomu inside, put him at guard. And then next year, if you don't want to resign or pick up the fifth year on Jones, then he's definitely a tackle option for Pittsburgh.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
Okay, so after the Steelers selection at 21, that puts the Chargers on the clock at 22. And that means you Pat.
Pat Fitz Morris
The Chargers need interior help on both sides of the ball. They could use an interior offensive lineman, but with Ione Vega gone, there's just not enough guard value to take one with the 22nd pick. So the Chargers are going to take Peter woods, the defensive tackle from Clemson. His final college season was somewhat disappointing, but going into the 2025 season, the consensus seemed to be that woods was likely to be a 10 pick. So there's a lot of potential here. He could be a monster if. If Jim Harbaugh can get the engines to rev for 60 minutes every week. There's some other interesting defensive tackles on the board, but I think Peter woods gives the Chargers a little more pass rush potential than some of the other options at at DT.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
All right, that puts the Philadelphia Eagles up at 23. So, Theo, I read a piece this morning actually about the Eagles wanting to remake their offense. So I don't know what that means to you, but how does that maybe influence your selection here?
Theo Greminger
Yeah, I think that we will see some changes on offense and I think they'll try to get this thing going once again. I'm going to go with a little bit of a shock pick. Dallas Goddard's returning this year, but he's 31 years old. This seems like a Howie Roseman type pick where everybody's sort of expecting them to take Emmanuel McNeil Warren or possibly a wide receiver. But I think the best player and maybe the most exciting player on the board is Kenyon Sadiq, the 21 year old athletic tight end out at Oregon. Sadiq here, it sort of gives them flexibility offensively to run a ton of 12. And I think even if they move off of A.J. brown, this is a deep wide receiver class and I think they'll draft somebody else. They've signed a couple of veterans as well, like Hollywood Brown, but I think ultimately Sadiq here would End up being an exciting pick for them where he plays alongside Dallas Goddard and then eventually takes over. And we have to remember Goddard, when he was drafted, Zach Ertz was on the roster. So it sort of follows a formula for them as a franchise.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
All right, Kenyon Siddiq, next guy on there who could make the Eagles a little bit different in 2026. Certainly I think different will be good for them. Also got a lot of stuff with Jalen. Hurts maybe being on the hot seat there, too. I think the coach might be too, to be honest with you. Philly's. Philly's a tough town. I love you, Philly. You're my second city. I. I lived there for many years with the college there. I love you, Philadelphia. I'll be there in June. Hanging out, staying over, taking the kids to a concert. But Philly's tough, man. You know, you don't get what they want. Even a couple years after a Super Bowl. It doesn't matter. Doesn't matter. All right, Cleveland is up again here at 24. Deeper. What do they do with the second pick here?
Derrick Brown
In the first, we went wide receiver for the first pick. Let's give them offensive tackle help here. Blake Miller, offensive tackle out of Clemson. I can't tell you if Blake's going to play the left side of the right side. Titus Howard has experience at both spots. So this is just draft the tackle and figure it out in camp.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
All right, Fitzy, back to you here with the Chicago Bears. I know how you love making picks for the Bears. I know that's like your favorite thing ever. Fitzy Mr. Cheese at himself. So. But keep it real, all right? Don't. Don't sink them here.
Derrick Brown
All right?
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
You're already getting hit from the Bengals, guys. Let's not get heat for the Bears too. They did lose Kevin Byard. They've lost a couple other pieces here on defense, so I assume we're going on that side of the ball with this pick.
Pat Fitz Morris
They are going to go with the safety Emmanuel McNeil Warren out of Toledo. And it does pain me to give this guy to the Bears because I really like him. The film is just fantastic. He is a playmaker who hits like a freight train. So the Bears did lose Byer. They also lost Jaquan Brisker. They signed former Seahawk Kobe Bryant to fill one of the safety spots. McNeil Warren is going to fill the other. And yeah, plays a non premium position and it has a small school pedigree, but man, this guy's a just a tone setter on Defense.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
A lot of NFL stars come from the small schools here. Shout out to the small schools here. Theo, you're up next year. Buffalo bills at 26, what do you have?
Theo Greminger
Yeah, I think that right now it kind of feels like it's going to be a skill position player. And I think they have options at wide receiver. I think Omar Cooper would be in consideration. Denzel Boston would be in consideration. But I think they go with my guy. Casey Concepcion, a really electric talent. Sort of a little bit of the. The Khalil Shakir becomes a little superfluous if they want to kick KCC inside, but I think that he's versatile. He can play the slot, he can play outside. You can use him on manufactured rushing attempts. He's also has a special teams pedigree. He's just a phenomenal value here this late in the first round. Could end up being a fantasy football star, eventually becoming the wide receiver one attached to Josh Allen. And when you add D.J. moore with your second round pick, combine him with Casey Concepcion with your first round pick. They've really done a lot to get the wide receiver room going for Josh Allen. They're still chasing the super bowl, and I think Casey makes this offense a lot more dangerous.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
Well, I've been waiting my whole life to find somebody who likes Casey Concepcion more than Derek Brown, and now I found him. It's. It's the. Theo, tell me why it's not redundant. Well, but I want to send this because the bill specifically with Khalil Shakira, who's an undersized wide receiver who they like in their offense. But why is it not redundant in that sense? Can you sell those?
Theo Greminger
I think. I think Khalil Shakir is really, really strong with his yak ability and that's one thing that he's sort of brought to the table. He's dominated the slot snaps, but he's sort of a limited upside guy. And I know they paid him the contract, but they also drafted Keon Coleman. I think they've got to write some wrongs with, with what they've done at the wide receiver position. And I think there's a lot of pressure on them organizationally to do so. You know, they say all the right things about, hey, we're scoring 30 plus points per game. We don't need to address wide receiver. We're going to do it. But they just showed you that they were kind of overpaid for DJ Moore based on maybe what we thought the market would command. And now they have a chance to draft. I Mean, Casey Concepcion, dynamite talent, was an early producer at NC State, was the ACC freshman of the year, really tremendous production early on and then quickly became the focal point at A and M. There's some question marks about his drops, but I don't really worry about that so much. I think that with Josh Allen, he's going to be really, really good and I think it's the versatility that he brings to the table. Really dynamic with the ball in his hands, and I just think he makes this offense super, super dangerous. So I think ultimately they're not going to let Khalil Shakir be much of a factor. He's sort of a role player here and they're elevating the wide receiver position.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
All right, dbro, I know you are upset because you didn't get to take Casey Concepcion before you. At 27, though, you're still on the clock regardless for the San Francisco 49ers pick.
Derrick Brown
If Theo didn't do it, I was going to do it for San Francisco, but I'm going to give them an edge rusher. They need the pass rush Juice, third lowest pressure rate last year. Let's give him a ball of clay here. Athletic upside for freaking days. And Keldrick Falk edge out of Auburn.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
Okay, next up here, the Houston Texans. Pat Fitzmores at 28.
Pat Fitz Morris
Texans are going to take Max E. Hanatur, offensive tackle, Arizona State. I think it's a pretty safe bet. The Texans do take an offensive lineman here. Most mocks don't have Ihonachor in the first round. I think he's going in the first round. I think the appetite for offensive tackles is going to be greater than anticipated. And Ihonicher is a really interesting case. He was born in Nigeria, came to America when he was 13 and played basketball and soccer, but not for football. His AAU basketball coach steered him into football. Started playing when he was in a junior college in Los Angeles, eventually transferred to Arizona State. He started picking things up really quickly. Six' six, 321 pounds, ultra athletic. This dude has big time upside.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
I was hoping you would take him with the Patriots pick. Pat. I'm not going to lie.
Derrick Brown
You saw Braves getting some reps in with him, huh?
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
Yeah, I did. I did. And I feel like that's where they're going to be honest with you. And I was hoping Pat would not hear. I'm glad Pat made this pick. Just. You made it for the wrong team, Pat.
Theo Greminger
That's.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
That's my only problem here. All right, let's continue on. Despite my unhappiness. 29. Theo, you're back here with the Kansas City Chiefs on the clock again here.
Theo Greminger
Yeah, this is a really, really fun selection and one that seems sort of wide open, but ultimately I think the value on the board is Denzel Boston, wide receiver out of Washington. I know DBro's sort of had this take that people are really overthinking him. He's 6, 4, 2, 12. He's had a 25% plus target share for back to back years at Washington, has 20 touchdowns his last two seasons as a Husky. He's just very, very good. And I think a lot of people are saying that he's just sort of a big outside wide receiver. I think he has the ability to be a big slot. I think there's some versatility there. The route running is strong and I think he's a really dangerous weapon in the red zone. Kansas City sort of gives themselves protection long term if they eventually do move off of Rashi Rice. And I think Boston fits in very well alongside of Rice sort of as this offense moves off of Travis Kelsey, eventually they'll have yet another wide receiver. And it's been a, an organization that's continually tried to draft wide receivers. We've seen it for multiple seasons. I think with the multiple options here at 29, I think they ultimately go in that direction and they do it with Boston.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
I really like Boston and if he ends up, I'm going to really like that too long term. Next up here, the Miami Dolphins up again at 30. Debro, what do they do with this second pick in the first?
Derrick Brown
I, I hate the fact that Theo took Boston ahead of me because just sniping the Dolphins when they have. I mean, but the Dolphins, they have so many needs, so many holes. If it's not wide receiver, I'm going to give him a cornerback because good lord, they need one. Avion Terrell, cornerback out of Clemson Hill instantly be their CB1 on their depth chart.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
All right, Pat, you're getting a second chance here for my Patriots at 31. Not the guy I wanted, but who's the guy that.
Pat Fitz Morris
All right, let's see if I can get the Joe PCP stamp of approval.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
I know so elusive.
Pat Fitz Morris
I know they need offensive line help, Joe, but the patriots were also 24th in pressure rate last year and they just lost Kalavi and Chase on. They need to add more steam to their pass rush. They're going to do it with Zion Young, the edge from Missouri, six'6, 262 pounds with long arms Young is powerful and has a motor that runs hot so he is the pass rusher the Patriots need.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
I'll take it as my consolation prize. I like it. Edges is my second choice but I really wanted Max. That's why I wanted all right, let's close out round one before we go to round two here 32 Theo closes out strong here with the champions of Seattle Seahawks.
Theo Greminger
Yeah, this is another wide open pick and I think ultimately Seattle could trade down from this selection, get themselves a little bit further down because it's so flat at this point. I think if they do stay on the clock it's going to come down to cornerback versus Edge rusher and I think they lean into the defensive side of the ball. I'm going with Colton Hood, cornerback out of Tennessee, was a Colorado transfer, really physical player, athletic and it just sort of fits into what Seattle has done recently. Embracing these defensive backs and just building this this defense into just a absolute force. So I think Colton Hood, fine selection here but I think this could be a trade down spot.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)

Pat Fitz Morris
Liberty. Liberty. Liberty.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
Let's get round two started here with the New York Jets. Here, Dbro, you're officially on the clock for round two.
Derrick Brown
Pick number 33, BPA situation. Caleb Banks. If he would have not had broken his foot during the pre draft process, he wouldn't be here, guys. So I think this is bpa. They do have Tavandre sweat they traded for, but Harrison Phillips is an unrestricted free agent after this year. I'm telling you, man like Aaron Glenn will not be able to help himself going trenches here. Kayla Banks, defensive tackle out of Florida.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
Fitzy, you're on the clock for the Arizona Cardinals, round two pick number 34. Where do the Cardinals go?
Pat Fitz Morris
They're going to take Ty Simpson, the quarterback from Alabama. And there's been a lot of debate about Simpson in recent weeks. He was only a one year starter at Alabama. And the track record for one year starters at quarterback who go in the first round since 1999. Listen to some of these names. Akili Smith, Mark Sanchez, Mitchell Trubisky, Dwayne Haskins, Trey Lance Kyler, Murray Mack Jones, Anthony Richardson. That is just a quarterback graveyard. But that's first rounders, Joe. That's why we're taking Ty Simpson in the second round. You know, and this guy looked great for about two thirds of the season last year. Hit a wall down the stretch which may have been at least partly injury related. So look, the Cardinals are certainly not going to take Ty Simpson at number three overall. And I don't know if it would be worth their while to trade back into the first round to get him. But if he's just sitting here at the Top of the second round. And your starting quarterback right now is Jacoby Brissette. Bring it on. He doesn't work out in a late season audition. Then we can go quarterback shopping again next year. But we're going to give Ty a shot at some point.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
I don't mind it here. I don't know what the track record for the guys in the second round who've played that many games are historically. We'd have to look that up. But I also appreciate. Probably not great, but Pat, I appreciate the fact that you're willing to whistle by the graveyard of quarterbacks. I like that you're man enough to do that. All right, let's get back to the next election here. The Tennessee Titans are back on the clock for pick number 35. And that puts Theo back in the driver's seat.
Theo Greminger
Yeah, this player I think will probably end up going in the first round of the NFL draft, but he falls here to the early second. Omar Cooper, wide receiver out of Indiana. I think it's a really, really strong value for Tennessee. They've already upgraded their wide receiver position this offseason with the free agent acquisition of Wanda Robinson. Now they're able to add Cooper. I mean, Cooper was awesome this year for Indiana. Led the Hoosiers in targets, had 13 touchdown catches, probably had the catch of the year in college football against Penn State, and then backed it up with a really strong performance at the NFL combine. Ran a low 4, 4 40. When we thought maybe he'd be like a 4 or 5 flat guy. A lot to like about Omar Cooper. I think he could ultimately be sort of a Rashi Rice type at the next level. And we've seen a number of these guys, lad McConkey, recently get drafted at this portion of the NFL Draft and make a huge impact as rookies. I think Cooper would have that window in Tennessee as maybe the number one target on the team. Maybe not the most targeted player. I think Robinson probably have that, but I think the most productive fantasy football wide receiver on the roster.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
I like that. I like that whole take and I like where you're going with Cooper here and that value point out. You've seen these guys in this position in years past make a big impact in fantasy. Next up, 36, the Las Vegas Raiders. Deborah, what can they do here to make an impact on their roster?
Derrick Brown
Man, I'm going to give them a first round talent, but I mean, look, somebody's got to get squeezed. Multiple players falling into the second round that could go in the first round. They have to get more production out of the defensive tackles. I'm getting Kaden McDonald, defensive tackle at Ohio State.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
Next up here, the New York Football Giants. Pat Fitzmore is at 37.
Pat Fitz Morris
Yeah, they are going to take Lee Hunter, the big defensive tackle from Texas Tech. The Giants run defense stunk last season. They gave up more than five yards per carry. Hunter is 218 pounds and very hard to move out of the middle. Probably doesn't give you much in the way of pass rushing, but the Giants have plenty of pass rushers. Lee Hunter is a pure run stuffer and the Giants need that.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
Yeah, certainly go a long way getting to the quarterback. Not so much problem stopping the running backs. Bigger issue, number 38, the Houston Texans. Theo, what do you have for them?
Theo Greminger
Yeah, I think they're going to keep adding interior offensive linemen in this draft and I think they just do it right here in round two. Chase Besantis, the guard coming out of Texas A and M. I know they signed Wyatt Teller, but this is another opportunity to add a foundational piece. I think Besantis goes somewhere between the early second and mid second. I think he's going to lock in here and I think it's ultimately a good fit for Houston to keep adding offensive linemen.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
Next up after that selection, we go back to the Cleveland Browns at 39 and Derrick Brown.
Derrick Brown
Well, they've already addressed pretty much their two biggest needs with going offensive line and going wide receiver. So going to get a year ahead of it here. Malik Collins is an unrestricted free agent next year. Let's give him Kristen Miller, defensive tackle out of Georgia.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
Okay, so off the board here for the Cleveland Browns. Next, at 40, the Kansas City Chiefs. Pat Fitz Morris, that pick belongs to you.
Pat Fitz Morris
Yeah, their third pick. And we've been addressing needs, giving them Mansoor Delane to help a cornerback and Denzel Boston finally giving Patrick Mahomes the big X receiver he needs. But they could use some edge help too. Someone to pair with George Carloftis. Cassius Howell, the edge from Texas A and M, widely mocked in the first round, earlier in the pre draft process, but measured with some pretty stubby 30 inch arms, so. But this dude has sub 46 speed and comes blazing in off the edge. Cassius Holl at 11 and a half sacks for a and M last year. And as a bonus, Cassius Howell is a Kansas City native. Let's bring him home.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
Okay, so homecoming there for Cassius Howell. Next up, the Cincinnati Bengals at 41. Theo, what do they do with this pick?
Theo Greminger
Yeah, I think they really Need a linebacker, and I think there's a really good one on the board with Anthony Hill out of Texas. Really, really fast linebacker, about six three, almost 240 pounds. And I think that he's a true difference maker for them at a position of need. So Anthony Hill, linebacker, Texas.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
All right, so next up here, New Orleans Saints. Back to them. Dbro at 42. What do you have?
Derrick Brown
Well, we've talked about it on previous shows. The New Orleans Saints need pass catching help. I'm not going to give them a wider receiver, but I am going to give them somebody that can be a big slot wide receiver for them. Eli Stowers tight end out of Vandy. He could play alongside Juwan Johnson. Juwan Johnson's entering his age 30 season and they can get out of his contract after the 2026 season. So long term pass catcher to run next to Chris Olave.
Pat Fitz Morris
Oh, yeah.
Derrick Brown
Let's go.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
Yeah. Stower is certainly a guy getting a lot of buzz now at this juncture in the draft process. At 43. The Miami Dolphins are back again. Pat, what do they do to continue to build this program back?
Pat Fitz Morris
Man, they probably would have taken Stowers here and Gunn used him as sort of a wide receiver, tight end hybrid. The Dolphins just have such bare cupboards at wide receiver. And I thought either Theo or Debro would give the Dolphins a receiver with one of those two first round picks. I get Theo helping out Malik Willis with an offensive lineman. But can I just yell at Debro here for.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
Please, you don't need to ever.
Derrick Brown
I got sty took Boston ahead of me.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
Dude. Dude.
Derrick Brown
Okay.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
You are always free to yell at Derek on this show. You never have to ask permission for that.
Pat Fitz Morris
All right, So I found it sort of indefensible to take Avion Terrell over Omar Cooper at pick 30. When I feel like cornerback is really flat and I feel like. Plus Terrell is kind of a. I think Terrell is a better man cover guy. And it's going to be zone with Jeff Halfley. That's what he prefers. And I'd rather see them get like Chris Johnson who is just a zone ace. They get Cooper at pick 30 and then they take Chris Johnson here, but unfortunately they already got a corner. I've got to take Chris Brazil here. I don't love it. I feel like there's a big drop off after the top six receivers, but here we are in the second round and we still don't have any quality receivers for poor Malik Willis. So let's give him Brazel 6 foot 4 with sub 44 speed. He can win deep and he's got the size to win contested balls. I, I don't know if he's going to be good, but at least he can give you a downfield threat and be just sort of a vertical scarecrow for this offensive, nothing else.
Derrick Brown
Can I give the pro brazel argument here? I mean, Pat, Pat made the conversation, but Brazil, I think is being not underrated in the sense of like where he's going to go in the NFL draft. I think round two, round three. But Brazil has the upside to become a wide receiver one in an NFL passing offense. He has the size. I think his route running chops are being slept on. He's not just a size speed vertical threat. My biggest question about him is the play strength and, and playing small at the catch point and with physicality. If he can clean up that part of his game, he has this. The sink and explode in the route running chops to be a wide receiver one in an NFL offense and he's not. People need to get away from the Tennessee helmet scouting. This is not the Jalen Hyatt situation and free releases and bunch formations and all that kind of crap. Brazil really has route running chops.
Pat Fitz Morris
I like me down from being mad at him. I like, I like Brazil as well.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
There you go. And Theo likes him too. Theo, did you want to chime in on this? Do you have any?
Theo Greminger
Yeah, no. I mean, I think the Debro sort of nailed it. It's the reverse helmet scouting going on where people are dismissive of him because of the wrongs of previous Tennessee players in fantasy football. It's just, it's kind of ridiculous. If Chris Brazil would have just stated two lane and had the exact same profile with that sort of athleticism, people probably be like, oh my gosh, what a great, great value right here. But people want to dismiss him because of Jalen Hyatt, which is kind of ridiculous. He was really, really good at Tulane, was all conference as like a red shirt freshman. Led Tulane in re in receptions, then transferred and this past year was all SEC looks the part and had an awesome combine. I think if he ends up in this range, this is the kind of value you want to embrace in your dynasty rookie drafts as well.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
All right, the jets have another selection here at 44, so let's make this pick. And then Theo, I want you to tell me more wins for the jets or picks for them in the 2026 draft.
Theo Greminger
I mean, I think, I think picks is probably the best bet but they're certainly, they're certainly making a good picks
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
in the first two rounds.
Theo Greminger
Oh, I think they'll have more, more wins than picks in the first two rounds.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
Okay, now you just get.
Derrick Brown
Now the shade's getting out of hand.
Theo Greminger
Yeah.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
The shades getting out. Four.
Theo Greminger
Yeah.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
Long island showing on you. Right.
Theo Greminger
They're winning. They're winning more than four. But I think the player that, that they're going to select here is going to help them get there. Love the Caleb Banks pick. It's sort of the, the roll the dice. If that foot can hold up, he could be the value of the draft. Arville Reese, I took it too. And then they're continuing getting really strong, athletic defenders. Keonte Scott is just on fire right now after Miami's pro day. 44 inch vertical would have led the entire NFL combine. And I know that some people don't trust the 40 yard dash times at pro days, but some reports are saying it was a 4, 2, 5. So let's give him 4, 3, 5. And he also had a 10, 3 broad jump. So you're talking about a really good player this past year for Miami with truly elite athleticism. Keonte Scott, you know, sort of chasing, getting an impact cornerback after losing Sauce Gardner last year. They get a fun one with Keonte Scott in this range.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
Yeah, and bring some swagger to that defense a little bit too. Baltimore 45, Debro, that pick is yours.
Derrick Brown
I'm going to bring some swagger to this pick. This is a pad approved pick. He talked about this name. He evoked it earlier and he got mad at me, but I think this could make him happy here. Chris Johnson, cornerback out of San Diego State. Come on down. Marlon Humphrey and Shobi Woozier, unrestricted free agents after this year. So Baltimore has to get ahead of this.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
Okay, next up here after Baltimore, go to back to Tampa at 46. Pat, that's you.
Pat Fitz Morris
I'm confident I'm going to make Buccaneers fans happy with this one. Jacob Rodriguez, linebacker, Texas Tech. They get their heir apparent to Levante David and linebacker is a glaring need. Rodriguez fills it perfectly. This dude is always around the ball. Forced 13 fumbles over his college career. Has a sweet mustache, a real cookie duster. I think Buccaneers fans are going to love him. And in Akeem Mesador. Jacob Rodriguez. Come on. The first two rounds is, is pretty terrific for Tampa.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
That was, that was pretty funny too. All right, next up, the Indianapolis Colts showed up to the draft. Everybody at 47. Theo, what do you want to do with them?
Theo Greminger
Yeah, I'm Going to go. Gabe Jackus, edge rusher out of Illinois, has just tremendous size. Really, really productive this past year for Illinois. Had double digit sacks, all Big Ten selection. And I think he's, I think he's really good and I think he's also just this prototype size guy that we've seen Chris Ballard sort of gravitate to in multiple drafts. So. Gabe Jackus, edge rusher out of Illinois to Indianapolis.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
Next up here, the Atlanta Falcons with pick number 48 dbro.
Derrick Brown
I do not think the Falcons want to suffer through another season of CJ Henderson or Mike Hughes on the outside, so let's give him a cornerback. Brandon sees out of South Carolina.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
The Minnesota vikings up at 49. Pat Fitz Morris. Boy, you get to pick the Vikings picks, you get to make the Bears picks. Everything's coming up Fitz Morris here, this
Pat Fitz Morris
one, I struggled with this one. But the Vikings released Javon Hargrave and Jonathan Allen. They could use some beef up front. So I'm going to give them Dominique Orange, defensive tackle from Iowa State, aka Big Citrus. He is a powerful 322 pounder who can anchor the middle of the the D line for Minnesota.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
Next up here, the Detroit Lions. Theo, that pick belongs to you.
Theo Greminger
Yeah, I think this is another sort of slam dunk pick for Detroit and fills a major need for them. I'm going to go back to a really deep class of edge rushers and go with Malachi Lawrence, who has just tremendous tools, really an explosive player, very fast, great size and fills an edge rusher need for Detroit.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
The Panthers are on the clock at 51 and that means Derek Brown.
Derrick Brown
So with round one, Carolina gave themselves some Ikea Kwanu insurance. I'm going to give them a pass catcher man and a guy that I think could go in the round two of the NFL draft. I'm curious Theo and Pat's thoughts on this, but we see every single year the NFL loves speed and guys get pushed up the board. I think the talent is there. Let's send another North Dakota State wide receiver in the second round, Bryce Lance. Let's go to Carolina.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
And if you want a bigger breakdown on Bryce Lance, go to the tailgate again right now. Go check it out after the show is over. Go watch tailgate. NFL. We had a whole discussion about Lance and all the reasons why the boys are excited about him. Next up, the Green bay Packers at 52. Pat, finally things have settled in for you and you get to make your pick for your packers here. What do you have for the pack?
Pat Fitz Morris
Yeah, and I get to Give my favorite team one of my favorite players in this draft. D' Angelo Ponds, cornerback. And Pons is a really interesting prospect in that he is a 5, 9 cornerback who's lined up almost exclusively on the outside in his college career. He's not a slot corner, but this dude is just a baller. He is feisty as hell. D' Angelo Pons reminds me a lot of Antoine Winfield senior. If he were 6ft tall, I think he would be a top 15 pick.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
Okay.
Pat Fitz Morris
Pons is, he's terrific in zone and the packers are going to play a lot of zone with Jonathan Gannon as their new defensive coordinator. Pons is a playmaker on defense. You can ask Dante Moore, who got pick six by him on the very first play from scrimmage in the national championship game. And Ponce can help on special teams. He blocked a couple of punts at Indiana. So this guy is just a baller and I'm excited to give him to the Packers.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
And a winner, Pat, that's what you like.
Pat Fitz Morris
It's a winner.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
Some winners. Pittsburgh at 53. Theo, that pick belongs to you.
Theo Greminger
Yeah, I'm going. Georgia wide receiver Zachariah Branch, who I think is a really polarizing player in fantasy right now, but he set the all time record for the most receptions in Georgia history this past year with 81. A lot of manufactured touches. Really was a screen merchant for Georgia, but that was sort of what they did offensively was get the ball in Zachariah Branch's hands. Then he had a really impressive NFL combine. We knew he was going to be fast. But dbro, he's also strong as an ox. Had a crazy amount of reps on the bench press. I think he was up near 20 reps at his size, which is just crazy. And I think he makes this offense way more dynamic. You've got DK Metcalf, you got Michael Pittman on the outside. Branch, can you be used sort of like he was at Georgia? In a sense they can use him in the slot and I think his explosiveness could really help this offense. No matter who's behind at quarterback. Will he be fantasy relevant? That's a question. But I think this landing spot spot at least gives him a chance to be that.
Derrick Brown
Do you think Aaron Rodgers and Mike McCarthy see new Randall Cobb here?
Theo Greminger
I, I, I don't know. I think again this is like just
Derrick Brown
throwing it out there.
Theo Greminger
Beholder. It's an eye beholder pick like Branch. If you talk to people like you know our friend Cody Carpentier as comp some tyreek Hill traits there. There's others who laugh this pick off and say this guy is just, you know, Malachi Corley. So I'm somewhere where I'm sort of open minded to him based on landing spot and draft capital. But I think ultimately somebody might take this guy in the top 40. We might see comparable draft capital to like Wandell Robinson a few years back. And I'm not going to be completely dismissive of a guy who just had this many catches at Georgia.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
Debro, you're back with the Eagles at 54.
Derrick Brown
Philly needs a replacement for Reed Blankenship. Let's give him safety. A.J. hall.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
Seattle shoe chargers at 55. Pat Fitz Morris.
Pat Fitz Morris
Oh, easy pick for the Chargers here. They're going to take Emmanuel, pregnant guard from Oregon. They need guard help. Trigon is one of the best pure guards in the draft. Older prospect, but that's fine. He's well seasoned and can step right into the starting lineup.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
I like that. Well seasoned. I'm gonna steal that. When people say that I'm old, I'm saying, no, no, I'm just well seasoned.
Derrick Brown
With that salt and pepper beard.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
You're well seasoned, right? That salt and pepper beard, baby. 56 the Jacksonville Jaguars. Theo, you're on the clock.
Theo Greminger
Yeah, I keep taking edge rushers because I think that's one of the strengths of this class and I think Jacksonville is going to be a best player available. They don't have the first round pick from the Travis Hunter trade, but they get a pretty good one here in our Mason Thomas, edge rusher out of Oklahoma. I think he. It's just, it seems like a very Jacksonville pick to keep amplifying what could be a really, really strong front seven this year with Thomas.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
Next up, the Chicago Bears at 57, Derrick Brown.
Derrick Brown
They lost Naysha Wright in free agency. Tyrek Stevenson has honestly just been overrated the last few years. Let's give them Keith Abney, cornerback at Arizona State. Let him come in and compete for the starting job opposite Jalen Johnson at
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
58, the 49ers and Pat Fitz Morris.
Pat Fitz Morris
The Niners could use some offensive line help. They are going to take the splendidly mulleted Jennings Dunker of Iowa. 6 5, 319 pounds, 3 year starter for the Hawkeyes. Played right tackle, but he might be ticketed for guard in the NFL. That's fine. 49ers could use a guy with some positional versatility.
Derrick Brown
Beast. Dude's a beast.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
Houston Texans at 59. Theo, that pick belongs to you.
Theo Greminger
Yeah. This seemed like a real wild Card type pick. They went wide receiver, wide receiver last year in the second and third round and I think they do it again. They can afford to red shirt Chris Bell this year with him coming off of a major injury. But I think we could all agree that Chris Bell would have gone 20 picks earlier or maybe even more if he were healthy heading into this NFL draft class. And I think ultimately the NFL is going to view him as a second rounder despite the torn acl. He has some like squint and see AJ Brown type plays in his highlight reel from Louisville last year and I think it's really just a luxury pick for Houston. They keep adding wide receiver talent and they do so with Bell. Great value this late.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
Next up, the Chicago Bears at 60, Derrick Brown.
Derrick Brown
Chicago needs some insurance for Ozzie Trappio like ruptured patellar tendons. I go look at the the history, it's not great guys. So I don't know if he ever gets back to pre injury form. Let's give him Caleb Tiernan, offensive tackle to Northwestern.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
Pat, you're up for the Rams with 61.
Pat Fitz Morris
Oh, Dbro totally snaked me on Caleb Tiernan. He got me back for yelling at him earlier. So we're gonna have to settle for Keelan Rutledge, guard from Georgia Tech. Pretty much the entire interior of the Rams offensive line hits free agency after the 26th season. So this is some advanced fortification.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
All right, let's see how we can fortify the Denver Broncos at 62.
Theo Greminger
VO yeah, I think that this is about the right time where C.J. allen becomes a major, major value. Denver adds a really, really strong run stopping, very productive linebacker out of Georgia. CJ Allen off the board. Denver continues adding to his strength.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
New England at 23, Derrick Brown.
Derrick Brown
Well, we'll see if Joe's gonna like this or hate this one. But regardless of whether or not they trade for A.J. brown, they would be a much better and deeper pass. Kitchen core by adding Elijah Surat, wide receiver out of Indiana, professional wide receiver, very good route runner. We could talk about the athletic upside and what his ceiling is in the NFL, but I was surprised I him going out and running a 4 or 5:40 kind of shocked me. I thought he was more of a 46 guy but. But regardless you know what you're getting out of Surat and Vrabel, a guy who's historically hard on rookies. Seurat is polished, man. He's going to come in and I think Vrabel is going to love him.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
Again winners I think winning, you know Cultures that are trying to establish winning is like the new thing again where. Or the old thing that's new again. The patriot circumstance. I think it matters. And you see how some of the Alabama guys have turned things around, the Georgia guys in certain places, when they've come into places. So the last pick here of the second round, the Seattle Seahawks. Pat Fitzmorris. Put a bow on this thing.
Pat Fitz Morris
Seahawks are going to take Derek Moore in edge from Michigan. Boy Maffe left in free agency. DeMarcus Lawrence is going to. He's expected to play one more season before he retires, so Seattle could use some edge help. And Derek Moore, situational pass rusher, doesn't really play the run very well, but he can really get after the quarterback at 10 sacks in his final year at Michigan and was a team captain so little. One dimensional. But that's fine at the end of the second round.
Joey P (Joe P. Zipia)
That'll do it, guys. 64 picks in 60 minutes. What's better than that? I can't imagine. Theo, thank you so much again for your time. Host: Joey P. (Joe P. Zipia)
Analysts: Derrick Brown (Dbro), Pat Fitzmaurice (Pat Fitz), Theo Greminger (Fantasy Points, Guest)
This episode features a deep-dive, two-round mock NFL draft, with every pick analyzed from both real-life and fantasy football perspectives. Joey P. leads a lively roundtable with noted draft experts, including Derrick Brown, Pat Fitzmaurice, and special guest Theo Greminger (Fantasy Points), as they debate prospects, ideal team fits, draft trends, and the fantasy implications for each selection.
The discussion covers key risers and fallers, positional runs, dynasty rookie strategy, and late-breaking league news affecting prospect landing spots. The analysts each take turns making, justifying, and grading picks, keeping the tone informative, humorous, and highly interactive.
Kirk Cousins & Raiders Rumors:
Theo asserts the Raiders are “locked in” on Fernando Mendoza at No. 1 overall, despite the Kirk Cousins acquisition:
“I think they’re completely locked in ... Playing the next year game, especially when you have the first overall pick, is a dangerous game.” (02:53)
Buzz over Defensive Prospects:
The experts highlight how this year’s draft class tilts heavily toward top-end defensive talent (“the defensive side of the football is hot in this draft” – Joey P. at 14:09), which shapes team choices, especially beyond pick 5.
Each analyst rotates draft selections for NFL teams, offering expert rationale and fantasy insight. Highlights by pick:
“We sort of overthink Caleb Downs, but he’s probably the best player in this draft on the defensive side of the ball and, maybe, the best player in this draft, period.” – Theo (06:56)
“They would be working the phones to get out of this pick ... but Jeremiah Love is going to be rocket fuel for what's already one of the best offenses in the league.” – Pat (12:40)
“Artillery for Josh Allen ... KC makes this offense a lot more dangerous.” – Theo (28:47)
“Let Robert Sala cook ... Let's give him a player who can mess up opponents' passing games.”
– Pat Fitz Morris on choosing David Bailey for the Titans (05:48)
“If [Rams] Love as the best player left, you take the best player you have on your board. That's how teams succeed.”
– Joey P. on the Bengals' selection process (14:09)
“I think that with Josh Allen, [Casey Concepcion] is going to be really, really good. Versatility; really dynamic with the ball in his hands.”
– Theo Greminger (29:06)
“KC makes this offense a lot more dangerous ... they're still chasing the Super Bowl.”
– Theo Greminger discussing Buffalo's offense (28:47)
“If Chris Brazil would have just stayed at Tulane and had the same profile, people would be higher on him. It's the reverse helmet scouting going on.”
– Theo Greminger on undervalued WRs (46:41)
“Pad-approved pick! Chris Johnson, CB out of San Diego State ... Marlon Humphrey and Awuzie are UFA after this year, so this gets ahead of it.”
– Derrick Brown on Ravens’ strategy (48:53)
“Winners. Cultures trying to establish winning is the new thing, or the old thing that's new again.”
– Joey P. on Patriots selecting Elijah Surat (59:12)
