All right, and park it right here for the tailgate where it's real football and no fillers. Just talking ball with your boys. And with the 2026 NFL Draft now in the bag, we are flipping the script fast forwarding almost a year with our first way too early 2027 NFL mock draft. I'm your host Seth Wilcock, fired up here as we're going to discuss some of the biggest faces that hope to etch their names in college football history this season. And speaking of the collegiate game today, I'm Jo, joined by two of the biggest college football DJs out there on the Internet, including my co host over at the Ben Pros College Football Show. He's also one of the hosts of our fantasy Pros Dynasty football podcast. Texas Longhorn Truther Wannabe Inzer. Scott Bogman. Scotty, how are you? As we prepare to dive deep into the crystal ball today, I'm doing great.
Scott Bogman
I got to pick a lot of Texas players for this con for this mock here. So you know, I love that. And we're gonna kick kick off with one to start for sure. And yeah man, I'm, I'm so glad we're done with the 2026 draft. Really?
Seth Wilcock
Yes.
Scott Bogman
The 2027 draft is going to be so much better, so much more positivity as long as the college football season doesn't ruin it for us like it did the 2026 draft. And even if it does ruin some prospects, there's too many. It can't ruin it. So I'm very, very excited for the 2027 class.
Seth Wilcock
Yeah, we've said so many times in this 2026 draft process, wait until the 2027 class. We're actually going to put that to the test today and mixing it up with us to do that is a man who I feel like when I usually see this guy should be posted up at a beach bar somewhere. He is one of the hosts of the in this League War Room podcast. He's also a contributor right here at Fantasy Pros and at the Fantasy Six Pack. He's Corey Piper, better known as ck. Ck. Thank you so much for joining us. How are you prepared to build out the first mock draft of the 2027 season?
Corey Piper (CK)
Oh, I'm very excited. It's been, it's going to be great to look at the 2027 season here and see and get to look at all these new prospects. But like Bagman said, like, we've known that this is going to be a good one for a while. We've known it. And now to actually see in my paper and get to put some names to teams is really exciting. So very happy to be here with you guys.
Seth Wilcock
Absolutely. And it is the year of the quarterbacks, gentlemen. I've already been doing some 2027 Super Flex rookie drafts over in the fantasy streets and let me tell you, it is filled up with quarterbacks left and right and they're going to come off the board in a hurry today. And as we are going 32 picks deep, every first round pick, every team that has a first round pick. But first, a quick reminder to please subscribe both here to the Tailgate YouTube channel and the audio feed. We'd really appreciate that. And if you're looking for the fancy spin on things, go ahead, go over to the Fancy Pros YouTube channel and the website there. And if betting's more your thing, we also have betting pros to cover you over there as well. So, so much goodness. Make sure you guys are smashing that like button as well on this video. Make sure our bosses know, hey, we like 2027 mock drafts. We want to hear more of this because 2026 was not the best. So we have also set the draft order based on Hard Rock BET season win totals, which officially put Scott Bogman on the clock for the Arizona Cardinals, who are currently at +1 25 to win just over four and a half games.
Scott Bogman
Yeah, whoever set the draft order, very smart here for sure. But that would be me. I'm going to go Arch Manning to the Arizona Cardinals. Of course I, I also considered left tackle Jordan Seaton, Edge rushers Colin Simmons, Dylan Stewart and wide receiver Jeremiah Smith. I think you have to keep that in mind because the Cardinals shown us, have shown us this season. We're going to take bpa Jeremiah Love. We don't need a running back at all. He's the best player available. Let's take him. So it could still be Jeremiah Smith specifically if Carson Beck works out somehow for this team. I don't think Minshu or Brissette are long term options, but I think the most likely scenario is if you're sitting at 1 1, you're going to take a quarterback and right, I'm going to say Arch. Now Arch did have some weird mechanical issues and he was not as comfortable in the first half of the season. That's where he threw five of his seven interceptions came in the first six weeks. But he really took off on the back end. He's going to have somewhere between 27 and 30 starts. He has every tool in the toolbook. He's a Manning. He's a Manning with athleticism. He is, you know, he's Cooper's son and his, his mom also was a major track star in college, so just a world class athlete as well. And this is wish casting for me. I understand that as a Texas fan wanting Arch to be, you know, the Heisman winner and the Longhorns win the Natty and he's a number one overall pick. But I think even if they don't go all the way, I think if Arch comes out, he's, he's the number one overall pick here. So let's go Arch Manning to improve this Cardinals offense and take the keys and hopefully take them to the next level.
Seth Wilcock
Well, and for, you know, excuse my language, but like a rundown organization, right, like the Cardinals, I think bringing in someone like Arch who has this brand recognition, I mean heck, he's a Manning, right? That was worth something in itself. And I think now you're getting an Arch Manning down in Texas where not only do you have one of the best play callers across the country in Sark, but also you're bringing in guys in the backfield like Brown and Hollywood Smothers. You got Cam Coleman, who I'm sure we'll talk about in this mock as well. You have such an elite cast around him finally on offense I think is going to put it all together and hey, it'll be on display week one of the season.
Scott Bogman
And if he goes to the Cardinals, Seth, I mean come on man. You know The Marv, Trey McBride, Jeremiah Love, Michael Wilson, they are loaded with talent so they just need, they need that point guard.
Seth Wilcock
Absolutely CK. That puts you on the board at 2 overall for the Miami Dolphins who are also at over under four and a half on their win total. Even money though to go on either side of that. What do they do at two here? They have a lot of quarterbacks on this roster. Obviously they bring in Malik Willis in the off season. They of course have one of Bog's former Texas gentlemen down there in that quarterback room as two and hey, even Mark Gronowski coming in as a UDFA from Iowa. They got a lot to work with there. Who knows who the quarterback will be by the time we get to this 2027 draft. But you know one thing that they maybe want to add a little more around him.
Corey Piper (CK)
Yeah, just coming off of signing Malik Willis here, if they're picking at two it's entirely possible they would consider going quarterback again. But given the contract they gave to Malik Willis I feel pretty good. We're going to try to avoid it for at least another year. Give them the two year contract. They're coming off a draft in which they made 13 picks. They needed to make 13 picks. It is a rough roster. So we went in, we got a lot of players. We did add three wide receivers in Caleb Douglas early which was a little bit of a surprise. Chris Bell and Kevin Coleman, but that is not enough to prevent me from taking Jeremiah Smith. Bogman mentioned him as a possibility to go one. I think he's the most talented player in the draft. That includes all the quarterbacks. I do think he is the most talented player. The comparisons are going to be made to players like Andre Johnson, Kelvin Johnson, some of the best hall of Fame wide receivers there are out there. Just a massive frame, big body control to catch balls off target Release packages or NFLs are players would already be gen jealous of big time player with a ball in his hands. At this point he just hasn't gotten a lot of refinement but he doesn't need to be refined to win in college. But when he steps on an NFL field man, he's going to be a big time X receiver for an NFL team and the type of target that Malik Willis needs.
Seth Wilcock
Yeah, I'm totally here for it man. I think Jeremiah Smith is the type of wide receiver that you go up there and you spend top five draft capital on. Right. I mean we already saw it with Carnell Tate, his, you know, his flanker this past season going out and getting, you know, fourth overall draft capital. So Jeremiah Smith is someone who certainly Bogs is. Since you've been doing this, is there a better wide receiver prospect than Jeremiah Smith that you've seen come across your page?
Scott Bogman
I can't, I can't think of one that had that success. I mean, obviously Calvin was a huge prospect, right? To also have the collegiate success. He's going to be one of the best ever. So to come in, he is outstanding.
Seth Wilcock
All right, well, at 3 overall then I got the New York jets on the clock and their win total five and a half right now, minus 110 either way. And like I'm just gonna come out and say like I think the Heisman odds, I think mock drafters everywhere, I think we're just way too low on Sam Levitt here. That's the pick for the Jets. Like this is a former four star recruit who is named a 2024 Big 12 offensive freshman of the year. In a season where he threw for 2800 plus yards, 24 touchdowns, just six interceptions really made Jordan Tyson, the Jordan Tyson that we know that just went top 10 in the draft, right? And like now he comes to Baton Rouge. He's got Lane Kiffin on the sticks who is coach. I mean you go back through the catalog of NFL caliber quarterbacks that lean Kiffin has had a hand in coaching up and it's pretty lengthy, right? And then he's also protected by the best tackle in the country. Now Jordan Seaton is coming over from Colorado and he's throwing in the likes of potential first round pick, a tight end trade as Green. He's got Jace Brown who's been a monster at K State for Avery Johnson the past couple years. Jackson Harris who led the Mountain west in receiving touchdowns down in Hawaii, and Trey Brown who was a really good wide receiver for Old Dominion. Plus Eugene Wilson, who, I mean he's never really panned out, but he was supposed to be something at Florida. So like, I just think like there's going to be so many primetime games in Baton Rouge, top 25 games. I think NFL scouts are going to fall in love with his processing and his mobility, right? This is also a guy rushed for over 400 yards, five touchdowns in 2025 college football. So I think there's just really, really good upside right now for Sam Levitt. And you Think about like, hey, could they go Dante Moore here? Dante Moore already told him no. He said, I'm going, I'm going back to Eugene, baby. I don't want to go to New York. So I think they're going to take the prospect. I think they're going to take the prospect with higher upside and Sam Levitt and he is another one like whoever goes to the Cardinals at one set up for success, right? Garrett Wilson, we Got Omar Cooper Jr. Oh, can we see what Kenyon Siddiq and Mason Taylor can maybe do at tight end. Breeze hall potentially in the backfield if they can get an extension done with him. So loads of upside for Sam Levitt going off the board at 3 overall. People might think that's a reach right now, but give it maybe, you know, eight, nine, 10 months. And I don't think people be saying the same thing. Scott Bogman, back to you at 4 overall.
Scott Bogman
Yeah, I mean, I really like that pick, I gotta say. And I like the way that broke it down too. Seth. Look, how about we're going to see a lot of primetime games with this guy. He can run, he's going to have an awesome all star crew around him. I love the breakdown. And the jets really need a quarterback, so I like it. For the Raiders at number four, we're going to go with Colin Simmons. Both my picks are from Texas. I know everyone's really surprised here, but if you watch Colin Simmons at all, you know that he is a stud and who else to consider? I mean, Dylan Stewart, maybe Jordan Seaton, an offensive tackle, Leonard Moore. I also consider Cam Coleman, another Texas guy from here. But Colin Simmons has been incredible since day one at Texas. He was number 11 in PFF PR pass rush grade last season. He has incredible instincts, laser focus to get to the quarterback. He. This is gross for me to say, but he reminds me of watching Von Miller from Texas A and M, right? So I don't like making that comparison because it's an Aggie and a Longhorn, but honestly, that is who he reminds me of the most. He's just long and lean and gets around that edge so fast, so quick with that first step. And Crosby with Colin Simmons across him in Vegas would make them a terrorist in the AFC west for opposing quarterback. So I really love this combo. I think this is BPA after Jeremiah Smith goes, so give me Colin Simmons to the Raiders at 4 and the
Seth Wilcock
Raiders like after making a trade where they trade one of their former top 10 picks, right? Someone who they were heavily invested with and shipped them off for practically nothing in this past draft. Like they're, they're showing their hand a little bit that hey, we need another pass rusher in here across from, across from Max Crosby if he does stay for the long haul. But certainly it was not going to be him. So really like the pick of Colin Simmons there, we're going to send it back to CK for the Cleveland Brown. Six and a half is their win total this season.
Corey Piper (CK)
So the expression is if you have two quarterbacks, you don't have any quarterbacks. What if you have four quarterbacks? Because that's where Cleveland is currently at here. Right. We have. I think we're going to go in with Deshaun Watson. It sounds like the indication is. And then we have Shador and then we have Dylan Gabriel and then on top of it, they added Taylor Green in day three. I think it was the sixth round this season we added Taylor Green to the fold. But if this team is still picking this high in 2027 and they have a top six pick or top five pick in this case. Right. I think we're still looking at the quarterback position and Seth mentioned him a little bit ago. He decided to go with Sam Levitt. But I think Cleveland would take Dante Moore in this case. And Dante Moore, the Oregon quarterback, lightning quick release. Exactly what NFL teams want today. With his arm talent, he can get the ball all over the field while on the move. If you to come out this year, you mentioned it, I think he probably goes to overall. So the fact that he just a better class, drops him down a little bit but doesn't lose anything. Moving on the run, excellent deep ball. He's got to cut back on the fumbles a little bit this year. He had a little bit of a fumbling issue last year and it has been noted that two of his worst games last year were in colder weather against Iowa and Wisconsin. So maybe that's something to track this year. If he struggles again in cold weather, Cleveland maybe not a great fit, but I want to see a little bit more sample size of 2 isn't enough to. For me to knock him on that yet. So we got to see a little bit more of that. So Dante Moore, the top five pick and maybe Cleveland can get rid of a couple of those not so talented quarterbacks and just find one that they like here.
Seth Wilcock
Let me tell you what, I was watching that Oregon spring game a couple weekends ago and like I think this is the year. I truly do. I mean you have Evan Stewart back, you have Decoran Moore who, who's coming back healthy. Like, this is really a roster that I think is going to put itself over the edge. We'll talk about some more of these defensive players from Eugene, but my, oh my, Bogs, I like, I'm. I'm all in on Oregon. Like, how can they not be the number one team, I think in the preseason top 25? Like maybe your Texas Longhorns will be because, you know, hook them, baby.
Scott Bogman
But yeah, yeah, he realized what he said about halfway through that sentence right there. Seth, come on. Because Texas is on, on that list too. Because Bama's on that. There's a lot of great teams. So Oregon, Oregon's in a really good spot for sure. Having Dante Moore back being so close, where they were last year, bringing in extra talent. They are in a great spot. I would hate to see Dante Moore go to Cleveland. I hope they stick with Shador, but it would be a very smart pick. And I think their new stadium proposal might be an indoor stadium, but I don't know if that improved or when it's going to be built or any of that stuff. So it doesn't feel years away from that. So.
Seth Wilcock
Yeah. Up on the shores of lake here though, gets a little brisky, right?
Corey Piper (CK)
It gets a little chilly, a little bit of snow.
Seth Wilcock
Yeah, I, I get it. But that's part of the, you know, that's part of the AFC north appeal. Right? We're tough out up here even. Even though Boggs, you're an AFC north fan and are afraid of the cold. But you know us true AFC north ginzers up here, we're. We're there, we're there. Rain or shine, baby, that's going to take us up to the sixth overall pick with the Tennessee Titans. Six and a half is their win total as well. And I'm just gonna go like, look, Tennessee, they went offense early in the 2026 NFL Draft, taking Carnell Tate at 4 overall. As I referenced earlier, I think this time Bob saw like fired up. We're going with the top edge in this class or one of them at least in college football. And that's Dylan Stewart outside coming out of South Carolina right here. And like this is another guy. Five star recruit, earned freshman All American honors 2024 with 10 and a half tackles for loss, six and a half sacks. And like allegedly his numbers were down this past year and allegedly he did have a broken back and he like, which I find like, you know, I, I don't know if it was a true broken back, but definitely something going on Funky There I will say though, like Lenora Sellers just let this team out to dry last year and this defense in particular, they were on the field for a ton of snaps, man. And like for the Titans in particular, you get Jermaine Johnson, they get him in trade, he's going to be up after this year. You're really going to pay him after he hasn't really panned out so far this season. And they did trade back into the first round in this 2026 NFL Draft to go get Keldrick Falk. But in my opinion, like folks always been a better run defender than he was getting after the quarterback, right? So that's why I think Dylan Stewart makes the perfect counterpart for him. They can learn, they can grow together. One of them stops the run, one of them is a better pass rusher and that's DS here right at the 6 overall pick and I'm sending it back to Boggs at 7 overall.
Scott Bogman
I mean just what a steal by the way for Dylan Stewart at number six I think is such a deal. And that's BPA for sure. Putting him, putting a guy like Stewart next to Jeffrey Simmons just almost seems unfair. So love that pick. Look, I'm going to, I'm going to go with the guy that you said hung out the the Gamecocks to dry last year. Lenora Sellers going to Carolina. He did. But let's, let's talk about the system to the system was horrific in South Carolina. So you bring in Briles to come in and take over this offense and Sellers is probably going to have his best season. He's got a canon of an arm. He's going to punish the defense for not accounting for him to break big plays. He needs to work on getting that ball out quicker in all aspects. Reads, pocket sense, mechanics. Everything needs to be a little bit quicker for Lenora Sellers. But he's going to remind everyone of Cam so much. He's from South Carolina. It's just such a fit. Specifically if Young doesn't work out for the Panthers again or is kind of mediocre again and kind of a tweener, this is it. If he doesn't really impress The Panthers in 2026, he is done and they will be looking for a quarterback. Plenty of options here and like I said, I just couldn't pass up the Carolina connection. The fact that he is so much like Cam Newton and just seeming seemingly a perfect fit here for the the Panthers with Lenore Sellers.
Seth Wilcock
A year ago I think I would have agreed with you Boggs, but To me, Lenore Sellers right now feels a bit like the, you know, the popular girl in high school that everyone wants to date and then they date her and then they break up after like three days because you're like, ah, there's
Corey Piper (CK)
just something about a little goofy about this.
Seth Wilcock
Yeah, maybe she says like too much, maybe just a little too much into themselves. Maybe, you know, overprotective dad, you know, shotgun type of thing when you show up on the front porch. Something about it just like it just smells a little bit. And that's how I feel about Lenora Sellers. I don't want him to because I
Scott Bogman
think skepticism of this pick is absolutely acceptable. He had a terrible year in 2025, but he had a really good year in 2024. How does he end that collegiate career? I think it's just going to be much, much better. Also kind of like how you're saying, look, I know Sam Levitt on most boards is between five and six among quarterbacks. I think he's going to project to two by the end of the season. I'm doing the same thing with Sellers. I think he'll be a top five QB for sure.
Seth Wilcock
Okay, next up we are going to stay in the FC south with the Atlanta Falcons for CK. Their winning win total 7 1/2 right now, plus money for that over. Where are you going here for a team that continues to try to find itself another new regime coming in there for Terry Falcono and company.
Corey Piper (CK)
Yep, with a new head coach and Kevin Stefanski who has no allegiance at far as being the team that drafted Michael Penix or the the head coach and GM that drafted Michael Penix they brought in to a tag of Iola on a cheap because Miami's paying so much of the contract as a cheap backup. But if Atlanta's picking In the top 10 I also think they're a team that will go back to the quarterback. Well here and you mentioned Carnell Tate going in the top five. We had Jeremiah Smith going the top two here. Their quarterback is also really good. He's only played one season and it was the third highest completion percentage in the history of college football. In Julian saying at a 76.8% completion percentage. And that's not just Colt Brennan out here throwing five yard dumpass screens. Out here did Hawaii it is. He is attacking downfield with Jeremiah Smith and Carnell Tate and making big time throws all over the field. I think Julian saying is going to vault up the rankings and I would have actually had Julian saying he will be my number two quarterback going into this year right now. So oh, I am ready to be all in on Julian saying especially consider we just barely saw him play. I mean one year and he looked great. So I am ready to see another year like that. And I think Julian saying moves up list. His accuracy is so good man he can get the ball exactly where he wants to put it.
Seth Wilcock
I was impressed by the poise that he showed especially in some big games early right off the rip. Texas Week 1 coming to the shoe. What's going to happen and Julian Sane certainly had it on display and I think he continues to do it right. It's a new cast of characters. You lose Max Claire, you lose a guy out there on the outside like Carnell Tate, a couple of these deep wide receivers that left after the news of Brian Hartline too. But still a lot to work with. We'll see if Innis can step up a little bit. And you got Big Bo Jackson coming back to that backfield that is just going to be remarkable from week one on. And before we keep it moving folks, a real quick reminder that the winner of the George Pickens signed Steelers jersey, it's not you, Scott Bogwin. Hold that phone right there. If you are that next lucky winner, like our friend Messer Grimm, shout out again to Messer Grimm and let's get back on the board with the New York Giants coming In with a seven and a half season win total. And look guys there's a ton of smoke with the Giants potentially taking a wide receiver early in this past draft. Instead they go defense early and then they get their tackle the future as well. And then they made this move that I thought was maybe one of the most ludicrous of the draft. They took a ton of Capital. A 2026 fourth and fifth rounder and their 2027 fourth rounder to go get Malachi Fields out of Notre Dame. I'm honestly going to like think that. I just don't think Fields is going to be anything more than like a number three. Right. Like that's what I see him being best here and I think they're me back in the receiver market where heading into the college football season we were talking about this before guys. Like I think there's a clear top two right. It's Jeremiah Smith of course and then I, I really do think it's Texas Longhorn transfer wide receiver Cam Coleman. Coleman top five prospect in that 2024 recruiting class and then was the second ranked wide receiver only behind Smith. The the knocks on him is like for some reason he flipped from A M to Auburn in the last second where then he had to deal with all the mediocre quarterback play Hugh freezes shenanigans until he got fired. So I think he's going to have a really big year at Texas being Arch Mannings number one wide receiver. Got Ryan Wingo running out of that flanker across from him as well. I think he'll be the perfect flanker at the next level from leak neighbors as well so. But Bogs, I'm all in here on your guy Cam Coleman. I'm sure you had to go six to midnight when you heard this transfer portal move over the off season.
Scott Bogman
So happy to get Cam Coleman and Wingo is the guy that brought him in too. Selfless dude. Love Wing.
Seth Wilcock
Yeah.
Scott Bogman
So I'm very excited to see and this is makes Arch like the obvious favorite here to me to go number one overall is having Wingo and Coleman back there plus Rayleigh Brown as a pass catcher out of the backfield. This is going to be very very potent offense and Cam Coleman's going to be a huge part of it. Almost took him for the Raiders at four because they still do need another wide out.
Seth Wilcock
They do.
Scott Bogman
Didn't want the Browns to have Colin Simmons so had to get Colin Simmons to the right. Just kidding. But I think the fit was very good with Colin Simmons. I still think he's BPA after Jeremiah Smith.
Seth Wilcock
So okay Boggs, you were on the clock with another franchise potentially contemplating a new stadium after some poop pipey type of situations over the years down there in the nation's capital which will host the NFL draft this season. So the home team on the clock right now, Washington Commanders over under their win total seven and a half. Depends how you feel about my boy JD Honey back under center for his junior season here. So Boggs, what are you doing with the Commanders?

well, Leonard Moore is going to go in our mock at number 10 to the Washington Commanders out of Notre Dame. I also considered Xavier Brown. It's a corner here for the Commanders. Corner or wide receiver probably, but after Coleman went one pick ahead of me, it's definitely a corner. Thorpe award finalist in 2025 along with Mancer Delane the sixth pick and Caleb Downs the winner who was the 12th pick in this class. Washington still looking for wide receiver edge two. But you know, the Chiefs traded in front of them because they, they probably were going to take Delane and CK and I have talked about this on the ITL war room. They need another outside guy, they need another perimeter guy so Sandersil doesn't have to stay outside. He can push back in to the slot where he does his best work and really make this defense great. Right. And I just think that he would come in and fit perfectly for this defense. He's been starting since he was a freshman at Notre Dame. Moore only allowed 52 recept, has only allowed 52 receptions for 494 yards and five touchdowns in his two seasons. And he has more interceptions than touchdowns allowed at 7 and 14 pass breakups as well. And he was number one in PFF coverage grade this year. Leonard Moore is the best corner in this draft and he's going to go in the top 10 I think.
Seth Wilcock
Okay, big time. Lenny Moore there for Scott Bogman and the Washington Commanders. And I gotta tell you boys, that's gonna be. Pittsburgh was an awesome draft. Washington, they did miss the 2:50 anniversary, so that's kind of a bummer. But like that's going to be so cool. It's gonna be right there. I don't know if you guys have seen like the AI renderings of it, but it's gonna be right there between the, I think it's the Washington Monument and the Lincoln Memorial. So it's going to be sweet right there in the park. It's, it's going to be. I don't think there'll be anything they'll top and shout to the NFL for continuing to hey, let's move around cities, cities you wouldn't really think of to be big destinations and just making a spectacle of it wherever they go. And speaking of that spectacle, the New Orleans Saints have certainly been a spectacle in recent years. CK kind of almost for all the wrong reasons. However, Kellen Moore last season comes in, gets his guy Tyler Shuck in the second round. When a lot of people said I don't know about this 25 year old who's bounced around a little bit, had some injuries coming out of Louisville, but he certainly showed up and they showed up for him in the 2026 NFL Draft. Going receiver early with Jordan Tyson and then again later in the draft getting someone out of out of NDSU in Bryce Lance. So ck, what can you tell us about what the Saints might do here at 11 overall?
Corey Piper (CK)
Yeah, I'd actually considered some of the offensive positions again, but with getting Jordan Tyson there, I think we're good for the receivers for a year. We still have. We brought a Trav Ctn at running back that was probably early. Didn't really like the feel of any of the offensive linemen here. So then I went to the defensive side of the ball. It absolutely would have been Leonard Moore, which is honestly the steel of this draft. I considered Leonard Moore at 2 to Miami. I think he's that good. I think he's would have been the top prospect the last two years. Unless you count, if you count Travis Hunter, that's a little different. But otherwise, if you take away him, I think after his freshman year he would have been the top cornerback picked and he would have went ahead of Delane but Bogman took him off the board here. So I went defensive line. David Stone. If you were watching Oklahoma and you were wondering who that really good player next to Grayson Halton was, that was David Stone as the player who only had the two sacks last season but would get in the backfield a ton. Missed a few tackles, but is a great run defending player already 6, 3 3, 15 big interior player. Cam Jordan is currently said that he's done with this. We'll believe him. They're going to need a replacement for him. Brian Br has never lived up to the first round pedigree. So we need a first round caliber interior defender on this team and we're going to get it in. David Stone out of Oklahoma.
Seth Wilcock
Yeah, I'll tell you what man. Brett Venables totally changed the outlook of that Sooners program last year when he got back on the headset. Right. Let me call the plays. And like sometimes you see this where you take a coordinator superpowers away and it kind of stunts the program a little bit as they make that transition to head coach. Now we got him back on the sticks. I think David Stone's gonna be a big Part of another big year for ohu, who we haven't talked about their quarterback yet too, but John Mateer. Definitely interesting after kind of a down second half to that season. And that'll put me back up on the clock at number 12 overall. Two jets picks. What did, what did I do in the world to deserve two jets picks? Guys, 8 1/2 is their win total plus 120 on the over there. And for me, like, I think the jets are honestly like slowly starting to put together a pretty decent defense after kind of rebuilding, shipping off some of their more expensive pieces. But I think they still have a huge hole at their second cornerback spot. Right. Nayshaan Wright on a one year deal. They signed Brandon Stevens in 2025. They drafted one of my favorite cornerback prospects in this 2026 class in D' Angelo Pons out of IU, but he's still mostly probably going to play nickel at least right off the rip here because Pond's a little bit of a, you know, slimmer guy and to me I think this just means they need another boundary cornerback. So why don't we go get Georgia's ellis Robinson the fourth. This is a guy number one cornerback recruit in that 2024 class and got the start early last season. Dalen Everett went down and it led to one of the better true freshman seasons we, or true, I guess would be a red shirt freshman season that we've seen out of someone here at the cornerback position led the conference in interceptions with four and he was named freshman All American freshman player of the year. So I think if he can repeat that and just even take maybe small steps forward. I know Leonard Moore is awesome, but I think the upside here with Ellis might even be just as high. So I think him going off the board right behind him at 12 to the jets makes a lot of sense to me. And Scott Bogman, you are the opposite of me. You did not get a New York jets pick. You got our Pittsburgh Steelers up on the clock at eight and a half as their season win total. Will Aaron Rodgers be back in 2027? I don't know. Will Omar Khan continue to fleece the entire NFL? I think absolutely.
Scott Bogman
People think that we got ripped off with that Makai Lemon bit, but I,
Seth Wilcock
I, we got the better half of that, baby. I'm, I think so right with it.
Scott Bogman
Yeah, yeah, maybe, maybe we're just, you know, crazy.
Seth Wilcock
No more head paces of receiver for me. I'm good on that one.
Scott Bogman
Yes, yes, thank you. I'm going to go with the quarterback here. I'M going to go with Darian Mensah out of Miami. Also I also considered CJ Carr of course Sabian Brown as well and Amore Washington as we might lose two defensive tackles next year. We'll see. Hayward can retire at any point. Benton is a ufa. I think they resigned it but we'll see.
Seth Wilcock
I like I got Yaya Mensah already
Scott Bogman
has has 27 starts under his belt right and he has a 56 to 12 touchdown to interception ratio. He needs to bulk up. He needs to get the ball out quicker to avoid sacks and in turn fumbles of course. But he was 4th in pass attempts last year, 3rd in completion percentage, 12th in PFF passing grade, top 25 in completion percentage, 6th in big time throws. Also bottom 10 in turnover worthy plays. So he needs to bulk up. He needs to make it through if he wants to make it through an NFL season. That's the big criticism of him is he's too light, he's too narrow. So he will bulk up, he'll put he's got E6 3, he's got plenty of room to grow and there's going to be a lot of high expectations. He's going to Miami this year. We saw what it did for Carson Beck. Like Carson Beck was a borderline quarterback prospect to even be drafted before going to Miami. A significantly cut down his turnovers at Miami, ended up a third round pick and on a team that could potentially use him this year as their starter, it would not be shocking to see Carson Beck get some starts. I think Mensah is already he a better quarterback prospect than Carson Beck was. I think he's on the border of the first line right now. He could go either way though. You know a big season at Miami is going to push him definitely in the first round. A bad season. Miami will probably have him in, you know, bottom of day two, early day three somewhere around there. So there's a lot of growth projecting here. But I like him going with Malachi Tony and he brings Bar Kate from Duke as well. I think that's going to be a really good combo for his NFL future.
Seth Wilcock
Yeah, you know the thing about daring men to say what you want about him, say how he got to Miami and was it right or wrong. This is still the same guy that led Duke to an ACC title in a conference where he definitely was the underdog, right Cade Club Nick and the Clemson Tigers had so much buzz around him. Everything that was going on there, Georgia Tech, Haynes, King Co. And then even this Miami team, right that Makes the trip all the way. The national championship. Duke continued to show up and Dari Mensa was a big part of that. And like I think he has the support around him. Right. You got a guy in Malachi, Tony, who I think is the best receiver in the 2028 class. You got Mark Fletcher Jr. Who was just running downhill in some big, wide, gaping holes down at the end of the season there in that stretch. Running like yeah, they did lose a lot with their offensive line. The tackles are gone. One of their guards I believe is gone as well. But like this is kind of what Miami does right now. They're kind of a factory under Mario Cristobal to building the interior of that offensive and defensive line. So I see very great things ahead for Darian Mensah. Will he be the first overall pick like Cam Wardrose a couple years ago this program? I don't think so. Will he be a third round pick that we saw Carson Beckby? I don't think so either. So I think that's a pretty good happy marriage. In the middle for Scott Bogman and our Pittsburgh Steelers. Big Mike gets his guy. Ck, you have Todd Bowles on the clock for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Jason Light Co. 8 and a half is their season win total. What is the move for them after getting a really great value in this 2026 NFL Draft at Ruben Bane on a very similar pitch.
Corey Piper (CK)
Yeah, I don't think we expected there to be Reuben Bay in there. So in all the mocks I know that I did in other places, a lot of times I was giving them Kenyan Sadiq.
Seth Wilcock
I was gonna say that. Okay.
Corey Piper (CK)
But yes, okay, so they ended up taking a tight end, but it wasn't until the sixth round when they took Bower Sharp. That does not change the tight end room. I did look at take giving them a quarterback. Baker is a free agent after this year, he has a void year. I assume they'll resign Baker Mayfield. So in the end I decided to not go that way. But after not getting Kenyon Sadiq in the first round, they're going right back to the well at Oregon. Tight ends here. You mentioned the Oregon offense earlier. We were talking about Dante Moore. You mentioned Evan Stewart and Decorian Moore. They brought in Iverson Hooks. But at tight end, I honestly think Jamari Johnson's a better prospect than Kenyon Sadiq. He can do a lot of the same types of things with the ball in his hand and they try to get him the ball towards the end of the season. Like in the playoffs against Indiana they're just throwing him little hook passes and he is picking up big chunks of yards. There's a play where he just runs a little Texas route. They dump the ball to him and he makes multiple defenders miss cornerbacks in space and picks up a 50 yard gain, eventually getting tackled at the one yard line. Jamari Johnson, 65257. He looks like Colston Loveland to me. And we saw Colston Loveland go a little bit earlier than expected. And I think if he steps into the role that Kenyan Sadiq just filled and has a equivalent season, don't be surprised when he goes earlier than Kenyan Sadiq did.
Seth Wilcock
Yeah, I'll tell you what, man, Jamari Johnson, what he did in that CFP run kind of made Kenyon Siddiq a little bit of an afterthought at times. And I think that was honestly something that like I was a little bit lower than consensus on Kenyan Sadiq. Yeah, I'm still out here screaming Eli Stowers tight end one for fantasy. So I, I think there's a lot of upside here with Jamari Johnson specifically because he's got some outside dogs that can draw a little bit of coverage off of him. And let's go ahead to 15 overall. We got Minnesota Vikings on the clock. Eight and a half is their season win total. And look like this is a place for the Vikings, gentlemen where they could absolutely hit the reset button on quarterback. Right. This would be the draft to do it. I do think though there's a better chance either a JJ McCarthy gets another shot at this or B, Kyler Murray plays his way into a multi year deal. And I think the biggest needs for them outside of quarterback running back, they obviously showed, hey, like we don't care about running back at all. We're good. With the ghost of Aaron Jones continuing to run out. Just some guys in, Jordan Mason going out and getting Demon Claiborne, but I think they could use a tight end. Jamari Johnson went off the board though too. And like we still have the top tackle on the board, right? And I think it's by a wide margin he's the top tackle. So I think that's where they have to go. Brian o' Connell has been arguably the most reliable right tackle in the NFL for over the past decade or you know, the last eight or ten years. Like this guy has been out there for a long time. He will be 31 by the time the season wraps up though. And an unrestricted free agent. I don't think in a team where you're Paying Justin Jefferson as much as you are where you're gonna have to resign Jordan Addison and you can really afford to pay him big money. Therefore they go get their guy in Seaton, who was a five star top 20 recruit in that 2020 class out of IMG Academy, commits to prime time in Colorado and shocker didn't really work out for him. Comes down to LSU though in the portal. Late in the portal too. And he's going to try to win a championship here, right? He's going to protect Sam Levitt already allegedly dropping 20 pounds which hey, we need, we know we needed to see that out of him. We need to see the same thing last year, Caleb Proctor as well. So I think all things are pointing to this guy being the top tackle in the class and him landing in Minnesota at 15 overall with a bargain price tag. And Scott Bogman, you are back on the clock as well. Oh my gosh. Wow, a New York jets pick for you. What did you do to screw to screw and make the Internet and the entire universe?
Scott Bogman
I set the draft order so I must have been mad at myself when I did this. But I did give you the jets twice so I figured I had to take one. By the way, I love those last two picks. Seaton is the seal of the draft so far. Him and more Such good value in this mock that we've done. And Jamari Johnson, I was just so ready to plant my flag and say I think Jamari Johnson is going to be number one and then he said he's going back to school. So it's disappointed by that. So great, great to have him up here, but I'm going to go. Xavian Brown, the cornerback out of Alabama to the New York Jets. Now I did consider a wide receiver. Charlie Becker, you know Nick Marsh in there as well. KJ Bolton I think is a good option for them. Yulonga Lele also but and I know in this mock already that the jets have taken Ellis Robinson, but getting two perimeter cornerbacks is going to allow d' Angelo Ponce to move inside to the slot which will be better for his career with the size limitations. And Stevens offers the second most amount of cap space if he was cut before June 1st of 2027. At $8 million, Brown is a shadow corner taking the opponent's number one. He can tackle and he hasn't even cleared 200 pounds yet on his frame. So there's a much higher ceiling. Ultimately the jets are still going to need to be BPA and I think Brown represents that in my opinion at this spot. So New York jets solidify that secondary in two drafts. The secondary that had no corners. They go and they get pawns, they get Robinson and they get Brown and they shut down everything. And if you guys just want a hint of what Brown's upside is, watch that 99 yard pick six against the Tennessee Volunteers. That was a great play by him.
Seth Wilcock
Who needs sauce when you got all the fixings to make it yourself is what the jets are saying. Boggs going double down on the cornerback position and a real quick reminder before we get to the second half of the of this first round mock draft that you can subscribe right here to the tailgate on YouTube and follow the podcast wherever you get your audios as well. The Tailgate isn't a fantasy channel. No, we go beyond the box score to cover the big picture NFL stories that will define the league year. So come out of the fantasy war room and park it right here on the tailgate. For all the news takes in the real world football talk that you won't hear on a fantasy show, just search Tailgate NFL on YouTube and hit that subscribe button or find the Tailgate on your favorite podcasting app. And let's go ahead and get back to one of my grown favorite teams in the NFL. The Chicago Bears up at 17 overall. Nine half is their season win total after a phenomenal year in year number one of the Ben Johnson regime. CK what do they do here to continue to impress and keep that super bowl window open?
Corey Piper (CK)
Well, they're definitely not one of my favorite teams, but I'm happy to make a pick for the Chicago Bears here. I was surprised that they chose not to address the edge position in the NFL draft. They took advantage of a fall of Dylan Thienaman, which I don't blame them for doing that. I would have taken advantage of that too. Then they were kind of backed into a corner and went with Logan Jones in the second round. But because of that they just kept passing on the edge position and it's a need for them. Right? Montez Sweat's still great but after him Dayo and Benobo has never worked out for the contract they gave him. Austin Booker has not developed yet so we're going to attack edge position here and it's back to back Alabama players. Bogman took save Sabian Brown at cornerback. I will take Yonze Pierre at edge. If you he mentioned watching that Tennessee game. If you want to see part of the reason that he was able to get that 99 yard interception. It was the two sacks that Pierre developed. He had two set games against Tennessee, LSU, Oklahoma and then Indiana in the bowl game before they were defeated. He is flying around the edge. He is a very physically gifted man with a lot of really long arms right now. You can see how you can develop even more here with his explosiveness off the edge. 45 pressures last year. That is fantastic already now he's got to get a little bit more of a tackler. He's only got one year on him as far as actual playing time. But if he goes out and matches that same type of pressure rate next year he will go in the first round of the NFL draft.
Seth Wilcock
Feels like this year at Bama going to be a little bit of a lighter, like easier going year with Kalyn DeBoer just signing back there, no questions about his availability and would he be on the move. And boys, do you just check out that SEC golfing video for all the coaches and their swings? Bogs, you catch this? I did not see that video going
Scott Bogman
around the Internet, no.
Seth Wilcock
So they had Nick Saban, they had Golding, they had Kirby. A lot of the SEC head coaches, all, you know, grade, you know, who had the best, who had the worst swings. Some pretty rough swings in there. Caitlin, Deborah, a little choppy. A little choppy, I gotta say. I mean, he's definitely not working on his game. He's been in the last. Cooking up good.
Scott Bogman
I want some bad golf swings from my coaches. Right? They stay in the film room. Not on the golf course, please.
Seth Wilcock
He called it, man.
Scott Bogman
I don't know about Pete though.
Seth Wilcock
He had a nice one. He had a nice one. Pete. Petey golden looking good out there on the links. I'll say. Let's keep it moving though here. For 18 overall, the Houston Texans back on the clock. Their win total, nine and a half right now. And look, man, I, I think unless CJ Stroud is going to turn back into the rookie version of himself, the guy we saw under center for the Buckeyes a couple seasons ago, the Texans are going to need to add an elite running back to help out this defense that in my opinion, I think was good enough to go win the super bowl last season. I mean, it was legit. And I think Kawan Lacey, he can be that guy. And I think he's going to be the top running back in this class. Still super young, actually a four star recruit out of that 2024 class. He transferred to Ole Miss from Mizzou last season. Where they did him dirty at Mizzou. They didn't Red shirt him but they gave him like 25 carries, you know what I mean? It was one of the played him in six games like, like he absolutely got bamboozled out of a red shirt that that first year. And, and I, I think his move to Oxford turned out to be a great decision though because this guy went absolutely ham man. Finished third in the country in rushing arts with over 1500 plus. Also 24 rushing touchdowns, the second best as well. And like as we saw in the College Football Playoff, man, this guy, the home run hitting ability is real. The pass blocking chops are there. I think we'd like to see a little bit more as a pass catcher. But still had 29 receptions. Now give him a full year with Trinidad Shambliss under center cooking and let's see what you can, you know, just jump off the bat here. I think that he's going to be a really, really big time player this year. I think he's going to make some noise for another Ole Miss team that's going to look to run it back and have similar success and say hey, Lane Kiffin who it was always in Trinidad and our guy Kawan Lacey making it happen on the offense. So let's go ahead back to the Denver Broncos at 19 overall. Scott Bogman. What do they do here? Win total nine and a half. They're trying to make another deep run after someone argue they could have made the super bowl too full. Bo Nix didn't take a take a sudden crap in the latent divisional round.
Scott Bogman
Yeah, I mean the broken ankle. And why did he have the broken ankle? Because he got hit. Let's protect him a little bit better. Right. The tackles are old in Denver, 34 and 31. And this way I got to go back to the University of Texas and give them Trevor Goosby, the offensive tackle who is number the number one tackle on the mock draft database board, by the way. So it's not just homer ism here. Don't agree all Texas players, but he is the number one on the mock draft database board. I still think Seaton probably should be number one. But look, this is a Feldman freak in Goosby, right? Six, seven and a third, 311 pounds and he hit 20 miles per hour and a 14410 yard split. The O line average is a 1794 by the way. So the dude can move, he can dunk. Also absolute freak of an athlete, lots of upside and if both tackles stay he can say he can sit and learn behind them. But he is a road grader, 17th best run block grade in college football last year, 80 of 597 graded in pass blocking grade for an offensive tackle. He allowed three sacks, one each against Ohio State, Florida and Georgia. And those were the only three hits he gave up to the quarterback as well. And only 10 pressures all year. He gave up two pressures in a game twice last season. The dude puts left tackle on lock and he is an absolute stud protecting Arch Manning. He's getting paid a lot of money to do it as well and he'll get paid even more by a team in the first round next year.
Seth Wilcock
Okay, off the board, there goes Goosby. That puts the Cincinnati Bengals on the clock at 20. Overall win total for them is 9 and a half and they're coming off a draft here. CK where they trade that first round pick. Hey, let's go get someone in sexy Dex. He can give us production right now. What do they do now that they're back on the clock in the first?
Corey Piper (CK)
Well, they were definitely considering taking Trevor Goosby here with this pick to replace Orlando Brown, but with him off the board, I pivoted to the defense again. We still know the defense of Cincinnati. Adding Dexter Lawrence is great, but they still have a lot of needs on that defense. They weren't obviously able to fix the secondary without having that top 10 pick to get Caleb Downs. They didn't get a linebacker. The linebackers, they went hard at it two years ago when they drafted both Demetrius Knight, Eric Barrett, Carter. Both of them were poor at best last season. So if they're still picking in this range again, I think we're going to try to replace the one of the linebackers and we're going to go with Kingston Villiamu, ASA linebacker out of Notre Dame. Now full disclosure right away, his season ended early. Knee, knee injury in November. So we have to see how he bounces back with that. But I'm assuming he's going to bounce back and when he does, it's the type of athleticism that we saw at Notre Dame at a linebacker out of Jeremiah Wusu Koramoa who can go down back and forth between linebacker, safety. That's how athletic he is. They will blitz him. He had four sacks last season before he got hurt, 23 pressures. Big time player as a run defender as far as taking on blocks and getting his players to the ground. So we have to see how he bounces back from the knee injury. But assuming he bounces back from that, I think this is the first round linebacker we'll get this season.
Seth Wilcock
I'll tell you what with all the changes that happen to the bracket formation and the roles to make sure that Notre Dame doesn't get gypped again. I would bet my life's mortgage. I would bet my life savings, my mortgage, my house, Bog's house, your house, ck, maybe my grandmother's house as well. Just for sgs that the Notre Dame Fighting Irish will be in the College Football Playoff this year. They're going to make some noise late in the season because hey, we can't have America's favorite team for whatever reason have them missing the the CFP once again. So I like that pick there out of Notre Dame for me. Welcome Back to the first round Jacksonville, baby. Let's go here on the clock 21.
Scott Bogman
How about a blocking tight end?
Seth Wilcock
Yeah, how about it man? Like that just leads to it, dude. Like they had a terrible 2026 draft with the remaining capital after they traded away their first round pick to go get Travis Hunter in 2025. And like yet they're still trying to figure out the secondary because they've been moving off these veteran cornerbacks for a while and now we come into 2027 here. Safety Antonio Johnson's contract, it's up after 26. I don't think they're going to tain him. I think that's going to make this their biggest need. So I think I'm gonna go ahead and give them a former four star recruit in Coy Parish who played his butt off man for the Golden Gophers the past couple seasons here. Led the Big Ten in interceptions in 2024. Freshman All American All Big Ten first team honors there in 24 as well. And like then this past season he showed okay. Not only am I an elite db, not only am I one of the best returners in the country, but also I can play a little offense too, baby. Like I think this is going to be a monster season in Eugene. I think they'll deploy him a little offense too and I think he, he will absolutely have a great season replacing first round pick Dylan Thinham in there and gonna make some huge plays and like so James Gladstone, you get a unicorn type player in 2025, you trade everything. No, get, go get him. This time you get one but at a reasonable price at 21 overall. That is where I'm going there with Coy Paris to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Scott Bogman
Did you put per share or Parish here because he also plays offense and they took Travis Hunter. Is that like, is that a little bit of your reasoning?
Seth Wilcock
They, they definitely, they definitely needed a cornerback Regardless, I will say. But then the fact that he does play like he's a unicorn, bro, and we know James Gladstone's. Whether it's blocking tight ends or whether it's, you know, players are gonna play offense and defense, they want a little bit of both of that, I think.
Scott Bogman
Yeah, I. I think you're right. So I love this pick for Jacksonville.
Seth Wilcock
It's weird and, and you like it, but maybe the team after it does not like it. That's the New England Patriots up on the board. Nine and a half is their season win total, coming off a Super bowl run and just one game short.
Scott Bogman
I also considered wide receiver Charlie becker here, but K.J. bolden, the safety out of Georgia, is a steal. And safety and wide receiver are probably going to be the biggest needs for the pats going into 2027. Bolden seems like an incredible deal at this point. He's gone 14 to the jets in mock drafts over the last week. Bolden is a rover. 382 box snaps, 203 free safety snaps, 116 in the slot. He is number four in PFF, run D grade and tackle grade among safeties. Two interceptions and no touchdowns allowed in 2025. He lowered his missed tackle rate to 4.9% from 10.3% as a freshman. And if the AJ Brown deal goes down, he's on till 2030. So the biggest need will definitely be safety at that point. And Bayard is a ufa, so. So a safety falling to the Patriots is, you know, they just wait and take the best player. The Ravens, too, so sometimes they've made some weird picks, but it seems to be the way they go at this point. So KJ Bolden to the Pats at number 22, I think is a steal for them.
Seth Wilcock
Speaking of big needs, they might need a head coach. I'm hearing a little bit of rumblings right now going around, so we'll see how things play out there in those streets.
Scott Bogman
They wouldn't be talking to other head coaches while they're married to one, would they? They.
Seth Wilcock
Oh, no, of course. No, never. Of course they wouldn't.
Scott Bogman
Who would do that? Ridiculous.
Seth Wilcock
Someone who wouldn't do that, though, is 23 overall, the San Francisco 49ers, who, hey, they would fire, you know, they would, you know, follow Kyle Shanahan into a fire. They'd fall this guy into a canyon, into a scary house, whatever, because they'll just let this guy do whatever you want to take. You want to take a running back who wasn't invited to the Combine third round. How about it, baby? John Lynch. You need a wide receiver who's gonna go maybe fourth fif round. You need 33 overall. Have at it, baby. That's the type of control these guys, they're slinging around putting on the table there. CK, what do they do here at 23 overall in 2027?
Corey Piper (CK)
It could be hard to predict what The San Francisco 49ers are going to do in the front office. But I looked at which one of their, let's say, experienced future hall of Fame players are more likely to retire after the season. And then that would be Mike Evans or Trent Williams. And which one then if one of them were to step away, which one has more depth at that position already because they took Dijon Stribling and they still have Ricky Pearsall and DeMarcus Robinson, Christian Kirk, I thought, okay, Mike Evans steps away after this season. I think we're probably good. But I did absolutely consider taking KJ Duff there as far as this kind of six, six kind of like what Mike Evans offers, but decided it was more likely that Trent Williams doesn't just keep doing the one year thing and perhaps steps down after the season. And so we went Kaden Green if Trent Williams were to return. Kaden Green has spent multiple seasons playing guard. So Connor Colby can't play a guard too. Kaden Green can play guard. King Green at Missouri. It's hard not to see Armanbu, of course, because of this, the helmet scouting there. But someone who's very versatile does not get give up pass rush at all as far as is concerned. He can play tackle, he can play guard. The type of player that The San Francisco 49ers who want to run the ball and protect their quarterback. We all know Brock Purdy isn't moving a whole lot in the pocket back there. Yeah, gotta keep a strong offensive line. So we go and get Kaden Green here at the back of the first round.
Seth Wilcock
All right, next up, I got the Dallas Cowboys here at 24 overall. And look before all the Cowboys fans, they come at me in the comments. I just think at some point you have to consider moving off Dak Prescott. They're going to take a $76 million and $86 million cap hit the next two years if they keep him. Right? And, and even if like they can't trade that contract away because they might not be able to, it's up after 2028. So that would give them two years for the quarterback to sit if needed. And to me, I, I think the boys they have the option between USC's Jaden Ava, who I think is going to have a big time season and Notre Dame, C.J. carr. I just think with the receivers, USC loss and Notre Dame, they're getting former five star recruit out of Ohio State, Quincy Porter Car is going to have even a bigger 2026 season. He's gonna have to overcome the losses in the backfield, right? Jeremiah Love, Jadarian Price, they're gone. However, he's still a guy who finished fifth in the country in passing efficiency, third in yards per attempt at 9.4 as well. And like I just have ton trust in Marcus Freeman to lead this program to victory, man. Like particularly because not only did they change the the playoffs to make sure they're getting in, but also their opponents this season, the toughest ones, BYU and Provo. That's going to be a big one. We'll see what Sataki and the boys have for him. Miami coming up to South Bend and then SMU at home like that's it. The rest of this schedule is like bottom tier big 10, bottom tier ACC programs because. Yep, exactly. Cherry Picket. They only got USC anymore because you know, no one can come to an understanding and an agreement there. Let's get one of the riddle one of the big rivals they already have. But so Cowboys fans let me know in the comments like do you feel like a Rams fan right now and say hey that our super bowl window is open. We don't need to be keeping these picks on the shelf. But what do you think Bogs? You like a little reset here at quarterback for the boys?
Scott Bogman
I think for your safety I might rephrase that question that, that what you said at the beginning and say hey look, they get their quarterback of the future with one of the picks they traded away Micah Parsons with instead of saying they need to get rid of Dak. I think they'll restructure Dak. They'll. They'll figure out that that contract money, man, I know it's a lot of money, but if it can be restructured, it will be restructured. You know what I mean? So I think they figure out a way to make it happen. Otherwise might be Pittsburgh trading for Dak. I wouldn't be shocked at that point either. But you have to have a plan. The smartest franchises in the NFL have a plan for the long term future at quarterback. And the dumb ones, draft, draft Kenny Pickett and whoever the Browns have taken for the last 25 years, right? So let's get a quarterback in here and let them sit behind and learn a little bit. And specifically with that weak schedule, there's probably going to be a lot of seasoning needed for C.J. carr. So, yeah, specifically, if you can use one of those picks you traded Parsons for to secure your quarterback of the future, you're going to make yourself look way better in the eyes of the fans. So I really like this pick. I think it's a smart.
Seth Wilcock
That's all the, the leaked information or the, the leaked videos that they did, the documentary for espn. The boys in, in the, in the trade room, in the war room. I will have to say, like, I think like Stephen, and Stephen and Jerry had a little bit more like, gumption than I thought they were. They were willing to make some big moves, but also like, they were a bit like, oh, whatever you want. You know what I mean? Like, they were very nice to opposing general managers in that ck. They're very, very liberal. I felt like with some of their, hey, you need it? You need an extra fifth? I got you an extra bit, baby.
Scott Bogman
You know, take this idiot wide receiver that we don't want. Yeah, make him be a problem. You guys took Rager before, too. Like, I feel like that was their thought process.
Seth Wilcock
Tell you what, though, between, you know, what him and, you know, his boy Steven are doing there in the war room and his acting skills on Landman. Jerry's on a heater right now, man. Seth Wilcock
All right folks, let's go ahead and keep it moving here. We got at 24 overall or 25 overall. Excuse me, the Los Angeles Chargers. Scotty B. What's the move here for Jim Harbaugh and company?
Scott Bogman
How about an edge rusher Mateo Uyangalay from Oregon? Let's get this Oregon defense in here, right? I also considered Bray Hubbard the the safety and a couple interior offensive lineman Kate Piper and Luke Montgomery for the Chargers. But the Chargers just spent their first round pick on Macedor. I understand that, but their other edge rushers and outside linebackers are Colomack who's 35 and Bud Dupree who's 33. They're both UFAs after this year. So is Tui Tuyo Polotu, but I think they resigned him. They're scheduled to have the six most cap space in the NFL in 2027. So I think you restructure and resign Tuohy, you bring Derwin James back as well. It's a lot of money but they're gonna need some more edge rushers. And Mateo could play inside and outside. He was 12th in hurries. There is projection on his game of course. Sure had 38 hurries but only six sacks. But if it works on getting out of his stance a little bit quicker, he'll be higher than a top 25 pick. So this is a guy that has been on a lot of boards inside the top 10. I don't know that he's there yet, but he definitely has a chance to move himself way up even in a good class because he's got everything outside of the numbers. The numbers need to come coming a little bit hotter this year at Oregon and if that offense is what we think it is, he's going to have more opportunities. So really like Mateo Uyungalalay going to the chargers here at 25, he's a big dude too. He fits our system perfectly.
Seth Wilcock
Ck, what do you think dju, his brother is doing these days? You think he's selling insurance, you think? I did think he had a stint in the UFL for a second, I thought for at least a moment. But what do you think? He's, you know, making sandwiches. What's DJU doing it in your purse? Perfect world.
Corey Piper (CK)
It's either insurance or it's selling cars, man. You take advantage of that name you go up to and I don't even know where he would park it at. Is it probably in Clemson, probably in South Carolina because you can't. I don't think he's doing it up in up in Oregon anymore because it didn't really work out so well. So he's probably back in South Carolina selling cars or insurance.
Seth Wilcock
Yeah. Dju, we miss you. It was always a great time fading him throughout his collegiate career. Let's go ahead though. And ck, you're on the clock with Howie Roseman. Old Howie always pulling some tricks, saving the Steelers from maybe a Blunder in that 2026 NFL Draft. They go get Mai Lemon. How about also let's get a tight end and Eli Stowers in the front door with that second round pick. Oh yeah. And then we're going to move some of our 2027 and 2026 draft capital to go get a big time pass rusher. And Granard from the Minnesota Vikings, they're on the clock at 1:26. What's the move with the 10 half season win total sitting over their head?
Corey Piper (CK)
Yeah. So they may they're always aggressive to try to fill their needs and you mentioned a lot of that already. I we expect AJ Brown will be gone. I expect AJ Brown will be gone shortly. But with Mai Lemon there, I don't think we're going back to the. Well, I thought about going receiver but I don't think we're going back to the well there. Even if Dallas Goddard leaves after the season, we already have a plan in place with Eli Stowers. I think we're good there but so then I looked at the free agents coming up here and there's a couple of big ones on the line. Tyler Steen is set to be a free agent at guard and then Fred Johnson doesn't necessarily start but he's their primary backup. Had nearly 700 snaps last season. Bachmann just mentioned this guy as a possibility for the Chargers. I went with Cade Piper. Not actually related, not said the same way but same last name as far as I know. Not actually related to me going to be playing. I thought he was the best offensive lineman on the Hawkeye's offensive line last year. That included Logan Jones who went in the second round and Jenny Stunker went in the third round. K Piper chose to go back to school. He is going to slide from guard to center because Logan Jones is gone which will give him extra versatility here. He's a little undersized to 290 but I think he'll bulk up and I said he was already awesome. He can push guys around, he has great leverage at his size and so I think they'll find a way on this. He could play it right away on the offensive line or just be a versatile backup who has experience at multiple interior line positions and to fill in the role that Fred Johnson's done for him. And we know that the Eagles want to run the ball with Saquon and Jalen hurts there. So keeping keeping that interior, the offensive line strong is very important for them.
Seth Wilcock
Okay. CK's long lost cousin off the board there at 26 overall. The Kansas City Chiefs come up at 27 overall. And I don't know about you guys but like I'm still pretty shocked that the Chiefs move at wide receiver was, hey, let's just wait and draft Cyrus Allen to back up Rashid Rice out of the slot rather than go get an actual perimeter wide receiver. Either way, like they're seemingly going to be rolling with Taekwond Thornton again out there and like to me I think that's a huge mistake and we also have have the fact that who knows what they do with Rasheed Rice. His rookie contract is ending. Will they pay him? Will they not? Will they throw a franchise tag on and say hey get your stuff together, let's revisit visit this in a year. Therefore I think like come on down Nick Marsh for, for me, wide receiver out of iu. And let me tell you man, this has been a journey to this point. Nick Marsh's career, right? I mean four star recruit put up 100 receptions, 1300 plus receiving yards, nine touchdowns the past two seasons for Michigan State working with quarterback Aiden Chows. And if you guys aren't ain't child's familiar, call yourself fortunate, right? This guy's not a prolific passer by any means. And now he goes to the defending national championship Hoosers. He's gonna have Kurt Signetti, Sig Signetti calling the shots for him. And this is the program that had a zero star recruit. Elijah Straw lead the country in receiving touchdowns a year ago. His counterpart Omar Cooper Jr. Conan in the first round the NFL draft. And now we have Josh Hoover who say what you want about Josh Hoover and the furry stuff and everything kind of going on off the field. This guy can sleep, he can sling it. Yeah, he really can. He really. And like you also get Tyler Morris coming over from Michigan who he's going to play the slot. He hasn't really worked out to this point in his career. He's missed some games but really good slot. But wide receiver just hasn't really had great quarterback play or a great system to feature him him up there in Ann Arbor. Also we got big Charlie Becker, you guys mentioned him earlier playing across from him. So I think that's great. And they have this cat in the backfield, running back Turbo Richard from Boston College. This guy was a stud. He carried me in CFF leagues last year. I think it's going to be a really good IU team. Is it going to be championship? You know Fernando Mendoza, Heisman quality team. I'm not sure but I still think it's going to be good enough to leave Marsh and Becker both as potential first round picks. I just think the Chiefs, we know they like speed, we know they double count it sometimes. I think that will make them fall in love with Marsh Moore and his ability to play inside and outside. Scott Bogman, you're back on the clock here at 28 overall with the Detroit Lions who high win total for them, ten and a half after missing the playoffs in 2025.
Scott Bogman
Yeah. By the way, great way to skirt around making fun of Xavier Worthy in that. So appreciate that for me here. But the Lions, look man, they still need that address. I know they went out got Derek Moore, but I'm going to give him Damon Wilson the edge out of Miami. I also considered linebacker for them because Jack Campbell is a ufa, but I think they bring him back. Ben Roberts, Rashin Biles is on the board and safety Bray Hubbard. They've been very hurt at that position. But Wilson took a huge step in production going from Georgia to Missouri. He jumped from three sacks to eight with only about 100 more snaps this year. He gets to play next to Moton. He was great with McClellan and Zion Young on that line at Missouri. But Wanham and Turner are both UFAs and I imagine that they're going to give money to Campbell. Brian Branch and Sam Laporta I would think are going to come back. So I think edge is going to be the biggest need for the Lions and Wilson he's got a great first step. Super. His superpower is conditioning. A lot of the plays that he made when you watch are late when everyone else is gassing out. He still has all that energy needs to improve in run defense, put himself in a better position to get tackles sometimes and add some muscle to add some play strength in there. But but he gets after the quarterback really quickly. So a great first step for him and nice burst around the edge. So I think that's exactly what they need next to Hutchinson on the other side. So G gimme Damon Wilson going to the Lions here at pick 28.
Seth Wilcock
CL Seahawks are on the board at 29 overall coming off a Super bowl victory, but who knows how it plays out here in 2026 where they have a 10 and a half season win total. CK what's the move for a Seattle organization that's still hopefully buzzing by the time this draft comes around in the nation's capital?
Corey Piper (CK)
So we are going back to the Oregon well for the fifth player in this first round we had and it is going to be Amari Washington. The big defensive tackle Bogman mentioned Aman Moten down in Miami. I considered him as well. I went with Amari Moten as my preferred defensive tackle. I thought Amari Washington might have come out this past season. He chose to go back to Oregon as the paid a lot of players. Dante more him to run it back. Jamari Johnson we already mentioned all those guys. They're off the board. But Amari Washington here going here. Leonard Williams is scheduled to be a free agent plus he'll be 33 anyways at that point. So we have to start thinking of a plan. They do still have young Byron Murphy there. Hook him and we got him going here. He is still there but we need a plan for Leonard Williams as he starts slowing down and getting older. MARI WASHINGTON awesome first step, all of 330 pounds. But he is not just a big space eater. He is someone. We talked about Feldman freaks earlier. He was a Feldman freak last year already. Just got to get a little bit better at tackling, but very stout big player. And whether or not Leonard Williams is back or not, we had to start thinking about a plan for Leonard Williams when he eventually moves on.
Seth Wilcock
Yeah, whether it's been edge or interior, we've had a big run of defensive linemen. I'm going to continue it here at the 30th overall pick with the Buffalo Bills. And look, I think when you're the Bills and you've been beaten because your defense gets outdooled by the likes of Pat, Patty Mahomes, Joe Burrow and now Bo Nix in the playoffs, like you have to do what you can to continue to load up on pass rushers. To me, they do have Greg Rousseau under contract through 2028. They just re signed Bradley Chubb. Was that a mistake? We'll see. But they, and they did just draft TJ Parker as well. So you might say, okay, they're good at pass rush but I mean they're still starting TJ Sanders at defensive end who we don't really know much about.
Scott Bogman
Right.
Seth Wilcock
There's a guy only 2, 2 career starts last year year. So who knows what he's going to be. I think I know what John Henry Daly is going to be. I absolutely do. He's a guy following Kyle Winningham from Utah up to Michigan. And I think you'll put up even bigger numbers this year where last year still finished fifth in the country and tackles for loss 18 seventh in sacks with 11 and a half. This is another guy I think the consensus is just way too low on. I think now that he gets a blue blood helmet that he's going to put on a really good show and he's going to get in that first round consideration. I would say by September on it's not going to take long. John Henry Daly's a beast. I don't think he should be here in the draft. But you know, that's the way kind of consensus boards are going where they see him as more of second round pick, late second round pick. I don't agree. I think the Bills will scoop him up here at 30 overall. Sending it back to you, Boggs, for our dreaded, hated, despicable Baltimore Ravens at the 1:31.
Scott Bogman
I think there's a lot of ways you could go with the Ravens here with this pick as well. Right.
Seth Wilcock
Eleven And a half. Ooh, yeah.
Scott Bogman
Yeah. I hate it. Matabiquay coming back with the neck injury, I mean, Moton is a, is a consideration.
Seth Wilcock
Echols, I almost thought that was a pick for you. I thought that was a pick for you.
Scott Bogman
I mean, but. But what is. What do we know the Ravens do? They sit and they take bpa, right? And I think BPA at this spot is going to be a running back. And I have a mod Hardy running back out of Missouri. Now look, Derek Henry's old and the Ravens offense works through the running back back they did just take, you know, Russell. But I, I think Hardy has a chance to go even higher than this as a prospect. He led the P5 and rushing yards 16 48, second in all of FBS, only two yards behind Cam Cook, who led the nation this season.
Seth Wilcock
He was about to say don't, don't, don't cut Cam Cook out of that. I'm not cutting him out. I appreciate the mention. I appreciate it.
Scott Bogman
He was number one. But he also second and missed tackles, fourth first and second in elusive rating. Right. He tied for the second most explosive runs at 43. That which is four more than Jeremiah Love had seventh and breakaway percentage of his yards. He had 238 carries and 1346 yards and three touchdowns as a freshman at Monroe, but was better at every grade for Missouri except for receiving grade. But this is a hole in this game. He only had 14 receptions in his collegiate career so far, which is why I think Kawan Lacey goes ahead of him still. But Hardy is an amazing back and if he catches more than 20 passes this year, he could easily be the first running back off the board. So with an offense that revolves around the running back with the potential that Derrick Henry is going to retire. And even if he doesn't, he's very old. They just don't have another guy that is going to be able to do what Henry does. And Hardy has already proved himself at
Seth Wilcock
the collegiate level if you want an unsolicited hot take. I think Hardy actually takes a step back this year. I think Bo Pribiola having him in that backfield with him helped draw a lot. I mean, and I don't know how everyone feels about Austin Simmons. I'm not as much into the Austin Simmons camp. I think it's everyone else, but I think it's maybe a down year from Mizzou, maybe a season win total under bet for me over there in the college betting streets. CK Go ahead and round us out though with the Los Angeles Rams who How high wind tunnel for them as well? 11 and a half. What do they do with the 32nd overall pick? Is it a quarterback again?
Corey Piper (CK)
I mean I consider Drew master maker here. You know back up the make sure we have a tight quarterback room here. But in the end decided against that and I went back to the cornerback room for the Rams. I know they just brought in Trent McDuffie that certainly helps. But Emmanuel Forged isn't cutting it and I think we just need another outside cornerback and we're going to go Kelly Jones at Mississippi State if you've never seen Kelly Jones play, he looks like a cyborg. His arms are incredibly long. Honestly, he looks exactly like Joey Porter Jr. A player that both of you guys are very familiar with.
Seth Wilcock
Shout out baby. We are.
Corey Piper (CK)
And he plays like him too. 11 receptions allowed last season. 11 28%.
Seth Wilcock
Wow.
Corey Piper (CK)
His longs, he is so disruptive at the catch point. Listed at 6, 4 and 190 pounds as you'd expect. Actually 195 pounds. I had that wrong. As you'd expect though, doesn't move extremely well. Like doesn't shift directions at a for a player that size which isn't all that surprising. But long, disruptive, can absolutely get up and play in someone's face. And I if he has a similar season to that where he only allows 11 receptions with a 28 catch rate, you know, something like that, it he'll be a first round pick. Cornerbacks that are that disruptive don't don't last long in the NFL draft.
Seth Wilcock
