I'm so excited, man. So much conjuncture, so much rankings movement over the past six or seven months and it feels RB3s, Seth, didn't you know they are real. They are absolutely real, man. And excited to break it all down with you, my friend. And how are you feeling? Like, is this the week one you were hoping for, slate wise? I think it's some really interesting games. Really across the land here.

[Derek Brown]

Yeah, dude, it's a really interesting slate. I mean, whether we, you know, want to get deep in the weeds, some of the coverage data and all this other kind of stuff. There were definitely a lot of takeaways with the primer that like where if people have been following all my action on betting pros, like as I'm writing up stuff like I'm putting in bets on betting pros and people got notifications turned on. You've been seeing it like your phone's probably been like, so do this. It's a really good slate of games. Definitely a lot of like, leans. And I think we're gonna see a lot of interesting upsets, you know, whether that's the betting market or some favorite teams. And yeah, some games that can kind of go sideways. Because while there's a lot of things we think we know, Seth, there is so much that like after week one, we're gonna be like, okay. Didn't see that coming. Okay. No way. Didn't know that. So I'm ready for it all, man. Good. Well, that's a week of games, though.

Yeah. And that's the thing I love about week one, man, is it really is just a learning experience. We're going to see so much new information come across the wire this week. And like, just like college football over the past week. I mean, we all thought Alabama would be a wagon once again. They get upset by Florida State, so anything can happen.

Arch Manning was supposed to be a Hall of Famer. I was told week one and on.

Like if people have not watched it yet, it was hilarious. There was a lot of just really great moments where I think just the reality of like a lot of things that when people are commissioning or also in leagues can take away something and just the real of it. Like we struggle in drafts too sometimes.

We do, man. I've been regretting my one decision you know me. I've been on Tony Pollard all season long. I've taken it. Well, here's. Here's what I'm regretting. It was, you know, about 7, 8 o'. Clock. I was probably about 14, 15 bush lights deep, and I made a decision. I went with Devonta Smith over him. And in my. In my fantasy draft, I didn't need a wide receiver 4. I needed an RB2. But now we're rolling out Nick Chubb there in the RB2. D, bro. So.

[Derek Brown]

Oh, Lord. Yes, that is regrets.

You got some serious. Yeah, you got some serious regrets right now. No doubt. Now I understand. We come full circle.

It did. It did. But that's. That's what happens when you're playing with some degens like I was up there in the keg league. Let's get some questions though, here. D, bro. So I keep the people wa. As we have a ton of new faces right here on Twitch. It's Mason. What's up, fellas? Am I crazy to reach on Chase Brown over Genti at the turn? I just feel like the Bengals have a better offense overall. Your thoughts on this, D, bro?

[Derek Brown]

I mean, I. I don't think it's crazy. It. It just comes down to how you're projecting that backfield. I'm worried more than most or everybody, I guess maybe that Chase Brown is not going to be like the CMC of Cincinnati. I'm worried that he's going to fall more into like a 65, 70 snap share as we move through the season. And this is really not just like, it's not an indictment about Chase Brown. It's also like belief in Taj Brooks and like how the Bengals probably want their backfill to go now. Like, I know we've seen a lot of Joe Mixon and he's gotten all the work and stuff like that in previous years, so I easily could be wrong. So it's not a move I would be making, but I understand it. I mean, I think like somewhere in that middle, the mid RB1 to low end RB1 tier in drafts, it's kind of, you know, choose your flavor. Do you like.

[Seth Wilcock]

Yeah, I'm there with you. Like, again, I'm super high on Genti, so I'm biased coming into this. And yeah, I mean, here's the thing.

[Derek Brown]

Do you have any questions about Gent's workload at all since you McCormick, Ash Jy, Raheem, Mourt, any of those guys gonna impede Ashton Genti's work at all?

[Seth Wilcock]

Not in the slightest. Not in the absolute slightest.

That's where I feel like we're splitting hairs then. It's easily that genty for me. But I get it.

[Seth Wilcock]

Yep, I totally get it. Mason. Go with your gut on that one man. But good luck to you. And Bam Bam Branson back in the chat saying boys one day until the Birds start the road to the repeat debating on who to start. Jalen Warren, Dave Montgomery, Jordan Mason and Swift. Also my buddy had has the awful decision of Cam Ward or Russ in his Super Flex 6 points slot. Go Birds. All right, so let's start with the question for him and not his so called buddy out here. Bam Bam. Who are you starting?

Who are you starting at running back here?

[Derek Brown]

I think a lot of people would tell you. So this is a, a question of more of like all those guys are in the same kind of ilk. I'm not high on DeAndre Swift. I understand from a volume perspective a lot of people would go that direction. This comes down to like what do you need for your matchup this week? For me and this is a, this is a matter of ceiling and floor. And so the way that I look at this, if you want to go with the floor play of just definite volume locking in, you're going to go DeAndre Swift. I'm actually going to go off the board a little bit here and I know that if you need ceiling here and I know that it's a committee backfield. I know this might sound crazy. Jordan Mason has a fantastic matchup this week, dude. Like I, I think Minnesota is going to lean on their ground game versus the Bears. And I wrote all this up in the primer. Like I think you know, if you, if you're playing that game and stuff like that, there's a lot of different ways to look at that. I just look at the game script of that game. I think Minnesota is going to feature both the running backs. This is not an anti JJ McCarthy take. This is just look how does Minnesota like going to win this game and from that perspective. So I mean like dude, I think it's a, it's a question of ceiling and floor, floor and volume. The safer play is Swift if you need absolute upside. Like if your matchup is just horrible at the gate, I'm actually gonna go. Ceiling play would be Jordan Mason here.

[Seth Wilcock]

Okay. Interesting. Yeah, I mean, it's tough for me to trust Mason. I feel like in week one, just. I need to see what.

[Derek Brown]

That you're going out on a limb because we don't know you are. Split's gonna be, man, like, yeah. Get eight carries and get 30 rushing yards. The other side of that coin is, what if he gets 15 and he. But, you know, breaks off like 60, 70 yards he gets into the end zone? I mean, like, if he doesn't score, you're probably not going to be happy. But I'm not high on DeAndre Swift or David Montgomery either, though.

Cam Ward has a horrible. Like, I know it is gonna see ghosts. He. He might see Jesus. He might see all things in between. He might.

Gonna be bad, man. Like, I. I worry about Cam Ward versus the Denver Broncos this week. Like, it's like Calvin really is gonna go into the shadow realm with Patrick certain and not return. So really, it's like, is Cam Ward gonna rely on Chiga Conquo and Ellic Iron Manor? Is that gonna be enough for where he scores points versus that defense thrust?

Yeah, I'm there. I'm there right with you, man. I. I just feel like it's a little bit. A little bit too tough to trust Cam Ward. It's. It's Henderson over Hampton, but, I mean, Hampton's probably gonna get enough volume this week. Al is horrendous if this is a. You know, if you're picking one. Yeah. So. Yeah. Oh, yes. I just saw the comment in the chat. So it's Henderson. I. I think the Patriots are gonna absolutely molly whop the freaking Raiders this week.

Dude, for me, it's gonna be JMO if you're in between these two different guys. I mean, I think the answer for a lot of people in a lot of leagues is start both, but for me, it's jmo, dude. Like, I. I think that the. Again going back over to betting pros, I. Why are the Lions plus money versus the Packers? Like, I. I. Their money line. I don't understand that. I just like for the packers for everything like that they, you know, getting Michael Parsons, which now we're like, okay, what is he Gonna Play Week 1? This back issue, how much is he gonna play week one? I mean, he missed training camp and the entire of preseason, so what are we gonna see? The snap rate, dude, Green Bay still has no corners. Like, no corners that I'm worried about, man. So I. I think Jamo could go ballistic here. Catch a long touchdown in this one. So with Juwan Jennings playing, I'm gonna lean JMO here, okay?

A little JMO action from D. Bro. I do like Ricky Pierce all but. Yeah, yeah, start Pickens tomorrow. D, bro, you firing up Pickens right away.

If you already read the primer, you know I'm not. I've been high on Pickens the entire draft season, but the coverage matchup is not good for him. Now, I will say Fangio's defense last year was kind of like a table of two halves. First part of the Year they were very single high, which would be awesome for George Pickens. Back half of the season. They were extremely too high. I think that's where they go this year. So I am making a lean. I easily could be wrong on that. But so this really just depends your options. Pickens I am lower on because I am projecting a lot of too high coverage and that has not been George Pickens bread and butter over the last few years.

[Seth Wilcock]

Yeah. Right now in ECR for week one, Pickens is a little bit down further than I was initially thinking he was going to be. Wide receiver 31. I think that sounds right about right to me, Debra. I think he's probably in that wide receiver 3 range. So if you have, if you have like Jameson Williams, a mecca, DK Metcalf, would you go those guys over Pickens, you think here in week one, Run.

[Derek Brown]

Them through for me again.

DK Metcalf, would you go with him? A mecca abuka Jameson Williams, Jamo.

[Derek Brown]

Yeah, yeah, I would have both of those guys. DK is an interesting one because coverage matchup's not great. Like he's kind of in between. But those other two would definitely be slams over Pickens this week. Yep.

[Seth Wilcock]

Okay. All right. Well, I appreciate that from white boy from FL420, baby. All right, that's nice little screen name for you as well. Dak or Drake May and Pickens or Pier Salt in ppr. I'm kind of scared of Cowboys versus Eagles. Are the Cowboys live to win this? Like they're out there. They're hanging around at a 4 to 1 money line right now. No, they're. It's.

[Derek Brown]

It's the Eagles. I think the Eagles are going to win this, but it could be closer than people. Like, I didn't bet. I didn't take the money line of the spread in that game. I just avoided it because I could see multiple paths. I still think the Eagles do win this, but I think. I don't know if they, you know, they cover for me. It's going to be Dak just based off the volume. I just worry that the game script could get away from Drake May where he doesn't throw a lot. Like the Raiders are. Like they might possibly feel one of the like a bottom five run defense. So like I think True is going to rip them in half this week. So like with the Patriots, it's like I could see game script going sideways and Drake may not getting a ton of volume because if the defense stands up, Christian Gonzalez plays and stuff like that, it can go sideways. And like the Patriots could steamroll them and Drake may walk away with like not a great game because all the production happened on the ground. So for me it's Dak, you know they're going to throw the ball. Pickens versus Pierce. All right, we need reports more on Juwan Jennings. How much is he going to play? Is he going to play? Because right now it's like he's practicing. We're assuming that but we haven't gotten like full clarity of if he's going to play and be a full time snap player. I, I think he will. I do lean with Pierce all in that one.

They were like an elite unit though last year. Like weeks 10 through 18. And again, we're working off of last year's data. I understand there's projections and stuff here, but looking at what I can tell people right now, weeks 10 through 18 last year for Green Bay, they allowed rushers the 8th lowest success rate, 10th lowest explosive run rate, and the 3rd fewest rushing yards per game. It is a horrible matchup for David Montgomery. So like I. And plus, the other thing about this is like, when you look at like, I think the Green Bay packers are a past funnel defense. I think Detroit can lean into that this week. Where you look at where, where's the strengths of.

Defense, the Green Bay secondary, like, they're. They're starting corners are not great. So if you're Detroit and you're going to lean into something, are you going to, like, force your hand with the ground game against what could still be a really good rush defense? Are you going to say, bro, we're just going to go out there and sling it and pick on these corners? Let's go sling it.

Yeah, I agree with you. That's the one thing that's kind of, you know, really, really worried me if I was a Packers fan. Like, keep in mind, Derek, we got Keyshawn Nixon as one of their starting outside cornerbacks. Keyshawn Nixon, Hobbs and Javon Bullard is.

Going to be their nickel. Like, none of that's good, dude. None of it's good. Bo Melton is working at a corner for a reason. I was talking to Patty this the other day and I was like, oh. Like, they were like. Because before we kicked off that Content Stream draft, I forget who asked Patty. They're like, did you see Bo Melton moving back to wide receiver? And I was like, no, they got wide receivers. They ain't got no cornerbacks, dude.

Yeah, it's crazy when you have a guy who was known as a kick return specialist, a great one, you know, made the Pro Bowl a few years back. Keyshawn Nixon is your one cornerback, and then your second cornerback or your second cornerback on the two deep is a guy in Bo Melon who has traditionally played wide receiver. So it's insane. Yeah, it's not good.

Can you get anyone better back at wide receiver? Chanda Bear asking, did I overpay in full PPR Traded Bill Scatter Boo, Loveland and Juwan Jennings for Cortland, Sutton, Tucker, kraft. Pollard's my RB4. Abuka was my wide receiver too, before the trade. So is this an overpay to you?

I don't. So this is one of those trades where like right now I would feel good about it, but like, yeah, week eight, right. And you're telling me Bill and Scatter Boo are starting and this is one of those trades where you could look back and wish you didn't make it. But I understand it now. So, like it probably fits good for your team if you had the depth to do it. But am I going to say that, like, this doesn't blow up in your face? It's possible. I mean, there's risk with it. But I understand the trade and I can't say that I wouldn't have made it.

It's Purdy. And the only reason I'm saying against May, dude, I so I bet the over for May's passing touchdowns it was plus money at like one and a half. So I like May. The only reason I'm saying not May is because again I think the game script could get away from him in this one where the Patriots absolutely just, just beat the brakes off the Raiders. And if the game script like there's an early defensive touchdown, they get one or two scores early from the ground game and May is not part of that. You could see where he walks away with looks like a very efficient day but maybe it's not great for fantasy. So I'll. I'll go with Purdy here.

Yeah, I think Drake May has a higher floor against Las Vegas just with the rushing upside. But at the same time Brock Purdy does feel safe against Seattle defense. Do you think I should be trading Mike Evans for Tetaroa or is that too much?

Mike Evans is ranked as a wide receiver one in ecr.

So I mean for me it's, it's. I think you should get some kind of kicker now whether that's an RB3, a handcuff, you know, you make this A2 for two like a two V2 where you know you're, you're downgrading, downgrading, not much if any at wide receiver but you upgraded another position like you swap tight ends or running backs or what have you. That's the way I would work this instead of just a straight up one for one.

It's crazy because I thought I was going to get Tedro McMillan in my home league. Derek, he was picked one pick before me but leftover Mike Evans in the fourth round. So I was.

Mike Evans was disrespected all season. People I know put on notice. Hey, I, I tweeted this weeks ago Dud. He's going to go out there, he's going to be top 13 in fantasy points per game. He's going to have 1100 plus receiving yards and 10 or 11 plus touchdowns and everybody at the end of the year is going to say oh man, why didn't I draft Mike Evans and wash, rinse, repeat until Evans decides to hang up the cleats.

And at the same time like really pay attention to week one rankings, right. I think you should have the week one ECR rankings right next to you when you're drafting D, bro.
