As you might have heard in the news, Figma was recently acquired by Adobe for $20 billion. A massive acquisition indeed, even with inflation! In this episode, we give our insights about what made Figma such a success. Alex, a longtime Figma user, gives his thoughts as to why Figma dominated the product design space where others failed, while Karandeep provides a PM's perspective on how Figma—which swims in a sea of cash grabs and VC pump-and-dumps—was able to stand out as a company which provided both a product people wanted, and just as importantly, a product which made money.

Hey everyone! Alex here. It's been awhile, but we're back! In this episode, Karandeep and I discuss how to go about growing your career in the companies you're working at. Should you stick it out at your current company? Or should you read the writing on the wall and race to the exit as fast as you can?A lot has happened since we last uploaded, and things are in flux as we're working on revamping the podcast: filming episodes, remote recording, establishing ourselves on other platforms, as well as bringing on guests. A lot is happening behind the scenes, and we can't wait to show you what's in store.

We as humans are plagued by a never-ending conflict within ourselves, a conflict between our egos and our insecurities, and nothing triggers this more than comparing oneself to others. Unfortunately, these inner conflicts can have a less than desirable affect on our experiences with the outside world if we let them get to our heads. In this episode, Alex and Karandeep dive into the ever-present vice of peer comparison. The duo discusses their own struggles in dealing with comparisons, how they've learned (and are still learning) to manage them, and tips on redirecting the energy wasted on pointless comparisons towards improving oneself in whatever endeavor they are pursuing. TL;DR: Don't compare yourself to others. Compare yourself to who you were before.

Not F***. This episode is about the other F word: Failure.Alex and Karandeep rant about their week of what felt like a frenzy of disappointment, but also provide insights on how to deal with failure. You can't escape failure in pursuing your business and career endeavors; we all have to confront it eventually. However, you can learn from it.A MilestoneWhen we set out to make this podcast, we made a goal of recording at least 5 episodes. Ironically, despite this being an episode about failure, we're extremely proud to have achieved this goal. It's only been a month, but we've had a lot of fun working on this podcast. We hope you've enjoyed the content we've been dishing out so far, and look forward to cooking up even more. Thank you FCKers, we couldn't have done it without you.

Yeah, those kind of relationships. Quite a detour, huh? Hear us out for a sec. The thing is, relationships are at the very center of your winner's circle. Alex and Karandeep agree on a lot of things, but in this episode, they have a (civil!) debate about their differing views on this topic. Can you balance your commitment to someone with your commitment to your professional success? Or, will we all have to confront the choice of picking one or the other?

"You're the sum of your five closest friends"You're probably familiar with that saying. You can work on yourself as much as you want, but you should also take a look at your circle: the people around you. The people you surround yourself with—friends, family, partners, and coworkers etc—are more important than you might think. When things get tough—and they will get tough—these people could be the support system you need to keep you going, or weights to pull you down. In this episode, Alex and Karandeep dive into the importance of building your winner's circle.

Momentum is everything.Whether you're trying to start your own company, build a career, or really anything which involves commitment, momentum is the powerful energy source which can propel you to new heights. In this episode, Alex and Karandeep discuss the importance of momentum in achieving your goals.
