So in this video I'm going to show you as a real estate agent, how you're never going to lose to a third party company again. As a real estate agent, the competition is absolutely fierce from other agents that are super tech driven to companies like Zillow telling you that you can actually sell your home yourself. So the idea is you have to stand out. The question is, how do I actually do that? How do I show my value add number one, building a personal brand. What does that mean? That means that you need to be showing up in your community. People need to know who you are, how you serve, what your everything is in regards to your company and your business. If they don't know that, then they're going to be going to somewhere else. You have to be a marketer, want to be a top producer, you need to be a marketer. That means building your brand, being in the community, showing your voice and letting them know who you are and how you're going to serve them. News flash everyone. It's not 2001, it's not even 2015 or 2020. People are looking at a different manner. They're not looking in magazines, they're not looking at billboards. Well, sometimes they are looking on their phones, they are on social media. On every single social media site imaginable. You need to yourself, are you there? Are you showing up where they are looking when they are scrolling, Are you stopping the scroll or not? So this means you have to pay for attention. Attention is currency. Let me explain to you how these algorithms work. Just like the one that you are watching right now, whether it's YouTube, Facebook, Tik Tok, Instagram, the the algorithm is putting you in front of people who are already engaging with you, interacting with you. Your goal is to be in front of everyone else. So how do you do that? You go and you pay for attention. You put money behind. And especially this, if you have post that's doing well, getting a lot of engagement, getting a lot of likes, getting a lot of shares, then you need to put money behind that to make sure everyone else sees you. It can't just be your mother, your brother, your dog, it's got to be everyone else in the community. And the fastest way to do that is to pay to play. Yes, organic works, but if you want fast, you need to pay number three. You need to be what I call. I have trademarked a community market leader. That means you need to be posting about the community, what's new, what's exciting, what's happening. It can't Just be about real estate, about you and your listings. It has to be about everything else. The idea is this, anytime somebody thinks about real estate or your community, they need to be thinking about you. Because you are out there, everywhere you're talking about it. You're showing up on social media, so you're at community events, you're letting them know what's going on. You are the community market leader. Number four, are you harnessing technology? Are you using AI? Do you have a CRM? Because I can guarantee you these other third party companies who are massive companies, have a lot of dollar money behind them. They are doing it, they're promising things that you need to promise on a smaller. So ask yourself, what am I doing to compete with these big companies when it comes to CRM and also technology? And the last one, number five is a personalized experience. Listen. These algorithms, these AIs, these companies, they cannot do what you can do. They cannot hold your hand. Talk about the community. Talk about why you should or shouldn't buy a certain house on one street, not the next. You can you know about it. So make it personal, make it a great experience for them and make it one that they can never forget or communicate. Compare to an algorithm, a computer or an AI. So people be for profits. And here's the thing, if you always put people first, the profits will come, I guarantee you. And the algorithm, they can't do that. So to sum it up, everyone, I hear it all the time, people are saying I can't compete with Zillow, I can't compete with these third party companies. Yes you can. Just get out there. Be consistent. Showcase content, local community content. Show that you're the expert. Showcase things that they cannot showcase. Build your brand, have systems, processes in a CRM and I guarantee you you can do it way better than them because you are a real person and they will always need us. So this is helpful. In Episode 914 of F.I.R.E.D UP with Krista Mashore, titled "How Real Estate Agents Can Dominate in the Social Media Era," Krista delves deep into strategies that empower real estate professionals to outshine both tech-savvy competitors and large third-party companies like Zillow. Aimed at entrepreneurs striving to stand out in the competitive real estate market, Krista provides actionable insights on leveraging digital marketing, building a personal brand, and harnessing technology to achieve Financial Independence and Early Retirement (F.I.R.E.D).
Key Points:
Notable Quote: Krista emphasizes, “If they don't know that, then they're going to be going to somewhere else. You have to be a marketer if you want to be a top producer" (00:45).
Insights: Krista underscores the importance of not relying solely on outdated marketing methods such as magazines and billboards. Instead, real estate agents must cultivate a personal brand by being visibly active in their communities and consistently showcasing their unique value propositions. This involves demonstrating how they serve their clients and what sets them apart from others in the industry.
Key Points:
Notable Quote: “You need to be showing up where they are looking when they are scrolling, are you stopping the scroll or not?” (02:10).
Insights: Krista highlights the shift in consumer behavior towards digital consumption, particularly on social media. Real estate agents must ensure they are present across all major social media channels, creating content that captures attention amidst the constant stream of information. The goal is to make a memorable impression that encourages potential clients to engage.
Key Points:
Notable Quote: “Attention is currency. Let me explain to you how these algorithms work.” (03:00).
Insights: Krista explains that social media algorithms prioritize content that already has high engagement. To break through the noise, agents should invest in paid advertising to boost their most engaging posts, ensuring they reach a broader audience. This strategy not only increases visibility but also positions the agent as a prominent figure in the market.
Key Points:
Notable Quote: “Anytime somebody thinks about real estate or your community, they need to be thinking about you.” (04:30).
Insights: To establish themselves as community market leaders, agents must go beyond showcasing properties. By highlighting local events, new developments, and community news, agents can become the go-to source for all real estate-related information in their area. This comprehensive approach ensures that the agent remains top-of-mind whenever someone considers real estate transactions.
Key Points:
Notable Quote: “They cannot hold your hand. Talk about the community. Talk about why you should or shouldn't buy a certain house on one street, not the next. You can.” (06:15).
Insights: Krista advises agents to leverage advanced technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems to streamline operations and enhance client relationships. However, she emphasizes that technology should enhance the personalized experience that only humans can provide. By offering tailored advice and a hands-on approach, agents can deliver a level of service that automated platforms cannot match.
Krista Mashore wraps up the episode by reaffirming that real estate agents can effectively compete with large third-party companies by focusing on personal branding, strategic use of social media, investing in paid promotions, establishing themselves as community leaders, and leveraging technology to personalize client interactions. By consistently applying these strategies, agents can build a formidable presence in their local markets, ensuring sustained success and growth.
Final Quote: “Just get out there. Be consistent. Showcase content, local community content. Show that you're the expert.” (08:00).
Actionable Takeaway: Real estate agents are encouraged to take proactive steps in enhancing their digital presence, investing in marketing efforts, and deepening their community engagement to dominate the social media era and achieve financial independence early.
