Flex Webster
Born on a kiwifruit orchard in New Zealand, Flex Webster lives and breathes music. A DJ, producer, and record collector with a career spanning almost three decades, his journey has taken him around the globe.
During a recent stint in London, Flex became a regular at venues such as Old Street Records, The Blues Kitchen, and The Cause. He also hosted a show on Music Box Radio UK and appeared as a guest on stations including THREADS.
His extensive discography features original releases like Changes EP and Heaven Bound EP, production credits on the Shared Soul EP, and sought-after DJ edits in the acclaimed Discõs Universál series. In 2023, Flex collaborated with Australian label That’s Not An Edit to curate the first New Zealand edition of their compilation series, contributing a standout rework of Letta Mbulu’s Nomalizo.
Flex’s sound reflects the soulful rhythms of the African diaspora, weaving together Afrobeat, Latin, Jazz, Funk, Reggae, Disco, Gospel, Balearic, and House into a rich, worldly tapestry.
A career highlight came in 2005 when he attended the Red Bull Music Academy in Seattle with Isaac Aesilli, where he had the chance to connect with legends Steely & Clevie, Questlove, Waajeed, Osunlade, and Theo Parrish. More recently, he has shared the stage with Palms Trax, Recloose, Chaos in the CBD, Flamingo Pier, Julien Dyne, Tall Black Guy, and Sumo Sui (Canopy Records).
Flex has returned to Bali to share his magic with the island of the gods once again. In the past he played regularly at venues like Potato Head, La Favela, Jenja, Straw Hutt, Mantra, 707 and Warehouse 82, and now he’s ready to pick up where he left off.
