Roughy 2 weeks ago a powerful derecho hit Iowa leaving over 14,000 Iowans without power, millions of dollars in crops destroyed, many without clean water, access to food, safe shelter, as well as many other necessities for safety and survival. The thing is, not many of us even knew it happened, what a derecho is, or what was happening in Iowa as it wasn't being reported on National News. We knew because Bree and her family live in Cedar Rapids one of the hardest-hit areas. Bree and her family and so many others described the experience as, "it looks like a war zone."
