Fr: Étienne regardait par la fenêtre de son bureau.
En: Étienne was looking out the window of his office.

Fr: Le soleil brillait fort cet été-là.
En: The sun was shining brightly that summer.

Fr: Il sourit en pensant à la fête surprise qu'il organisait pour l'anniversaire de Jacques, son patron.
En: He smiled as he thought about the surprise party he was organizing for Jacques, his boss's birthday.

Fr: Jacques aimait les gâteaux, surtout celui au chocolat.
En: Jacques loved cakes, especially chocolate ones.

Fr: Étienne voulait faire bonne impression.
