Story Transcript:

He: השמש זורחת מבין ההרים החומים של ים המלח.
En: The sun rises between the brown mountains of the Yam HaMelach (Dead Sea).

He: אריאל נוהג במכונית, ידיו מהדקות את ההגה.
En: Ariel is driving the car, his hands gripping the steering wheel tightly.

He: לצידו יושבת נועה, מביטה בנוף ובהרהורים, מתרגשת לקראת חופשת השׁבועות שלהם.
En: Beside him sits Noa, gazing at the scenery and wrapped in her thoughts, excited for their Shavuot vacation.

He: מאחור יושב דוד, חבר טוב ונאמן של השניים, משחק עם הרדיו ומשנה תחנות בכל פעם שצליל בשיר לא מתיישב עם מצב רוחו.
En: In the back sits David, a good and loyal friend of the two, playing with the radio and changing stations every time a note in a song doesn't suit his mood.

He: "אריא'לה," אומר דוד, "ודאי יש לך תכנית סודית היום!
En: "Ariela," David says, "surely you have a secret plan today!"

He: "אריאל מחייך, אך לִבּוֹ דופק מהר.
En: Ariel smiles, but his heart is racing.

He: בתוך תיקו מונח טבעת האירוסים.
En: In his bag lies an engagement ring.

He: הוא מתכנן להציע לנועה נשׂואים ברגע המיוחד ביותר, באמצע הזהוב של השקיעה.
En: He plans to propose to Noa at the most special moment, in the golden light of the sunset.

He: הרוח קלה והכביש ריק.
En: The breeze is light and the road is empty.

He: אריאל שומע את נהמות המנוע ומנסה לדמיין את הרגעיות שיבואו.
En: Ariel hears the purr of the engine and tries to imagine the moments to come.

He: איך יכרע ברך על חופי ים המלח, מוקף בהרזקת תצורות מלח מרתקות.
En: How he will kneel on the shores of the Yam HaMelach, surrounded by fascinating formations of salt.

He: אבל משהו לוחץ עליו – מה יקרה אם היופי הזה ייהרס?
En: But something worries him—what if this beauty is ruined?

He: האם יצליח לשמור על ההפתעה?
En: Will he succeed in keeping the surprise?

He: פתאום נשמעת רעשן מכיוון גלגל המנגנון.
En: Suddenly, a rattling sound comes from the wheel mechanism.

He: דוד נאנח, "אה, פשוט יום מושלם לתקלה קטנה בנהיגה!
En: David sighs, "Oh, just a perfect day for a little driving glitch!"

He: "אריאל עוצר את המכונית.
En: Ariel stops the car.

He: כמו שניעו מהארנק שלו, חולץ את הגלגל ומתחיל לבדוק את הבעיה.
En: As if drawn from his wallet, he removes the tire and starts to examine the issue.

He: נועה ודוד עומדים לצד הדרך, מנסים לעזור, מספקים מצב-רוח טוב.
En: Noa and David stand by the roadside, trying to help, providing good cheer.

He: לאחר שהחליף את הגלגל התקול, הם ממשיכים בדרכם.
En: After replacing the faulty tire, they continue on their way.

He: אך מה שבאמת מטריד את אריאל אינה התקלה בגלגל, אלא העננים האפורים שמתחילים לקפוא מעל ראשיהם.
En: But what truly bothers Ariel is not the tire malfunction, but the gray clouds beginning to hover above their heads.

En: "It's wonderful here," says Noa with excitement.

En: For a moment, the pressure disappears.

He: כולם מביטים בתמונה שמול עיניהם.
En: They all gaze at the picture before their eyes.

He: אך ממש כשהשמש מתחילה להיפרד מהשמיים, מטפטפת מבול פתאומי.
En: But just as the sun starts to part from the sky, a sudden shower drips down.

He: רוח קרה מתעוררת, והגשם מתפרק.
En: A cold wind rises, and the rain pours.

He: אריאל, לבו פועם כפטיש, מחליט לא להתייאש.
En: Ariel, his heart pounding like a hammer, decides not to be discouraged.

He: הוא כורע ברך בחול הרטוב, שולף את הטבעת ושואל: "נועה, תינשאי לי?
En: He kneels on the wet sand, pulls out the ring, and asks, "Noa, will you marry me?"

He: "נשימתה של נועה גואה והיא אומרת "כן!
En: Noa's breath rises, and she says "Yes!"
