Story Transcript:

He: באמצע יום אביב נעים, הלך אלי בן ה-12 בשביל צר.
En: On a pleasant spring day, 12-year-old Eli walked along a narrow path.

He: פריחת האביב הייתה מסביב, והריח המתוק הזכיר את החג המתקרב, פסח.
En: The spring blossoms were all around, and the sweet fragrance reminded him of the upcoming holiday, Passover.

He: הוא התבונן בנוף, אך ליבו היה כבד.
En: He gazed at the landscape, but his heart was heavy.

He: אופניו, שנעלמו בדיוק בתחילת החופש, היו אהבתו הגדולה.
En: His bicycle, which had disappeared just at the start of the break, was his greatest love.

He: פניו של אלי רציניים כשהוא נכנס לתחנת המשטרה.
En: Eli's face was serious as he entered the police station.

He: הבניין היה גדול ומלא אדם, הטלפון צילצל בלי הפסקה, והאוירה הייתה עסוקה ומתוחה.
En: The building was large and crowded, the phone was ringing nonstop, and the atmosphere was busy and tense.

He: הוא נשם עמוק, מתכוון להשמיע את קולו.
En: He took a deep breath, intending to make his voice heard.

He: אלי פנה לשוטר בשם נחום מאחורי הדלפק הזכוכית.
En: Eli approached an officer named Nahum behind the glass counter.

He: "שלום, אני רוצה לדווח על אופניים גנובים," אמר בקול מעט רועד.
En: "Hello, I want to report a stolen bicycle," he said, in a slightly trembling voice.

He: השוטר, עסוק במכתבים וניירות, דיבר מהר.
En: The officer, busy with letters and papers, spoke quickly.

He: "תכתוב את כל הפרטים," אמר בקצרה, והצביע לעבר שולחן צדדי עם טפסים.
En: "Write down all the details," he said briefly, pointing to a side table with forms.

He: אלי לקח דף ועט, ושם את כל לבו בכתיבה.
En: Eli took a page and a pen, putting all his heart into the writing.

He: הוא תיאר את האופניים, הוסיף את מספר הסידורי, וצייר סימן מיוחד שהיה על המושב.
En: He described the bicycle, added the serial number, and drew a special mark that was on the seat.

He: כל פרט זכר, לא מוותר על שום פרט.
En: He remembered every detail, not leaving out a single one.

He: בעיני רוחו ראה איך חוזרים האופניים אליו, כיצד הוא ייסע בדרכים האלונים ובשבילים שאהב.
En: In his mind's eye, he saw the bicycle returning to him, how he would ride on the oak roads and paths he loved.

He: לבסוף, כשסיים, פנה אל השוטרת ליאורה.
En: Finally, when he finished, he turned to Officer Liora.

He: היא התפנתה להקשיב, בעיניים מלאות אכפתיות.
En: She made time to listen, with eyes full of care.

He: "אני מבינה," אמרה לו בחום.
En: "I understand," she said warmly.

He: "גם לבני יש אופניים שהוא כל כך אוהב.
En: "My son also has a bicycle he loves so much.

He: אני אבדוק את העניין אישית.
En: I will personally look into the matter."

He: "אלי חייך בפעם הראשונה מאז שנגנבו אופניו.
En: Eli smiled for the first time since his bicycle was stolen.

He: הוא הרגיש כי מצא אוזן קשבת.
En: He felt he had found a sympathetic ear.

He: ליאורה הבטיחה לעשות כמיטב יכולתה כדי להחזיר לו את מה שאיבד.
En: Liora promised to do her best to return to him what he had lost.

He: כשעזב את התחנה, הייתה בו נחמה.
En: When he left the station, he felt comforted.

He: הוא למד שהסבלנות משתלמת, ושכשהוא מתכנן ומציג את דבריו נכון, הוא יכול להישמע.
En: He learned that patience pays off, and that when he plans and presents his case well, he can be heard.

He: הלימוד הזה העניק לו ביטחון מחודש, ועם זאת התקווה שהאופניים ישובו אליו לפני תום החג.
En: This lesson gave him renewed confidence, along with the hope that his bicycle would return to him before the holiday was over.

He: באותו יום, בעוברו ליד השוק הקרוב, נשם אלי את ריח הפרחים, מבין שלהילחם על מה שחשוב לו זו ההצלחה האמיתית.
En: That day, as he passed by the nearby market, Eli breathed in the scent of the flowers, understanding that fighting for what is important to him is the true success.

En: Passover brings freedom, and Eli felt freer and stronger.
