Sk: V pestúnskej knihe zimy sa na okraji mesta prevaľoval malý detský domov plný srdečných detí a prísnych pravidiel.
En: In the foster book of winter, on the outskirts of town, there sprawled a small children's home full of warmhearted children and strict rules.

Sk: Miroslav, s iskrou v oku a čepičkou na hlave, kráčal bezstarostne po zasneženej ceste.
En: Miroslav, with a sparkle in his eye and a cap on his head, walked carefree down the snowy path.

Sk: Oblaky dýchali chladom, avšak jeho myseľ veselo tancovala.
En: The clouds breathed cold, yet his mind danced happily.

Sk: Chcel opäť vniesť štipku smiechu do všedných dní.
En: He wanted to bring a pinch of laughter into the everyday days once again.

Sk: Čosi chystal.
En: He was planning something.

Sk: Niečo veľké.

Sk: Práve preto sa obrátil na svoju najlepšiu priateľku Janu.

En: "Miroslav," she sighed when Miroslav confided his plan to her, "we have to be very careful.

Sk: Miroslav ho postrčil s úškrnom: "Neboj sa, Karol.
En: Miroslav nudged him with a grin: "Don't worry, Karol.

Sk: Bude sranda.
En: It’ll be fun."

Sk: "Pani riaditeľka, vždy elegantná a upravená, sa zapodievala starostlivosťou o deti.
En: The principal, always elegant and well-groomed, was occupied with caring for the children.

Sk: Nikdy neprehliadla nič.
En: She never overlooked anything.

Sk: Avšak Miroslav veril, že ich majstrovské dielo prekročí všetky jej očakávania.
En: However, Miroslav believed that their masterpiece would exceed all her expectations.

Sk: Blížila sa sobota a deti sa pripravovali na svoje dielo.
En: Saturday was approaching, and the children were preparing for their creation.

Sk: Všetky oči sa upierali k dverám riaditeľne, keď na ne nenápadne nalepovali riadne natrhnutú lepiacu pásku, ktorá na povel spôsobí, že sa nad hlavou pani riaditeľky vysype celé kýbel konfetových papierikov zo zamaskovanej otvorenej skriňovej priečky.
En: All eyes were fixed on the principal's office door as they discreetly stuck a thoroughly torn piece of tape on it, which, on cue, would cause an entire bucket of confetti paper to spill over the principal's head from a cleverly disguised open cabinet shelf.

Sk: Prišiel čas obeda a Miroslav so svojimi spojencami čakali skrytí poza rohy chodby.
En: Lunchtime came, and Miroslav and his allies waited, hidden around the corners of the hallway.

Sk: Čas ich žartíku nastal.
En: The time for their prank had come.

Sk: Napätie by sa dalo krájat', detské ruky sa potili v krátkych rukávoch.
En: The tension was palpable, and children's hands sweated inside short sleeves.

Sk: Nakoniec sa dvere otvorili.
En: Finally, the door opened.

Sk: Ale namiesto očakávaného smiechu nastalo ticho.
En: But instead of the expected laughter, there was silence.

Sk: Pani riaditeľka, ktorá očividne tušila viac, sa len jemne usmiala a povedala: "Vidím, že mi niečo chystáte.
En: The principal, who evidently sensed something was afoot, merely smiled gently and said, "I see you're planning something for me."

Sk: "Smiech, ktorý nasledoval, rozbil ticho pevnými stenami domova.
En: The laughter that followed shattered the silence within the sturdy walls of the home.

Sk: Miroslav sa na chvíľu cítil pokorene, ale rýchlo sa pridal k všeobecnému veselí.
En: Miroslav felt humbled for a moment, but quickly joined in the general merriment.

Sk: "Deti, deti," oslovila ich dobromyseľne pani riaditeľka.

Sk: "Miroslav v tej chvíli pochopil, že zábava a pravidlá nemusia vždy bojovať.
En: In that moment, Miroslav understood that fun and rules don't always have to clash.

Sk: Prvý raz videl v riaditeľských radách osobu, nie iba prísneho úradníka.
En: For the first time, he saw a person in the principal's advice, not just a strict official.

Sk: Medzi deťmi panovala nová pohoda.
En: A new sense of ease settled among the children.

Sk: Karol si našiel miesto, kde patril, a vedel, že v týchto múroch bude mať vždy priateľov.
En: Karol found a place where he belonged and knew that within these walls, he would always have friends.

Sk: Značne vyčerpaný a uvoľnený, Miroslav si s Janou a Karolom podskočil von, do snehu, ktorý pomaly príchodil jar.
En: Considerably exhausted and relaxed, Miroslav skipped outside with Jana and Karol, out into the snow, which was slowly heralding spring.

Sk: V takomto svete bol ich nový deň omnoho jasnejší.
En: In such a world, their new day was much brighter.

Sk: MOžno to nebolo dokonalé, ale rozhodne to bolo ich.
En: Maybe it wasn't perfect, but it was decidedly theirs.
