Story Transcript:

Sl: Simon je stal na pomolu v Piranu, gledal čez modro, mirno morje.
En: Simon stood on the pier in Piran, looking out over the blue, calm sea.

Sl: Bilo je vreme pomladi; sonce je grelo hrbtišča, veter pa je prinašal svež morski zrak.
En: It was spring weather; the sun warmed his back, while the wind brought in fresh sea air.

Sl: Piranska obala je bila polna ljudi, ki so praznovali Letni festival soli.
En: The Piran coast was full of people celebrating the Annual Salt Festival.

Sl: Ulice so bile ozke, tlakovana tla so bila sijoča in mokra od jutranje rose.
En: The streets were narrow, the cobblestone pavements shiny and wet from the morning dew.

Sl: V zraku je bilo mogoče zaznati kombinacijo vonja morja in okusne morske hrane iz bližnjih kavarn.
En: In the air, you could sense a combination of the scent of the sea and the taste of delicious seafood from nearby cafes.

Sl: Simon je bil mladi knjižničar.
En: Simon was a young librarian.

Sl: Cele dneve je preživljal med knjigami, a sanjal je o pustolovščinah in skrivnostih.

Sl: Ta festival je bil drugačen.

Sl: Neka oseba je izginila.

En: "No, no," said Anže, a childhood friend.

Sl: "Je morda spet tavala po starih solinah?"
En: "Could she have wandered off into the old salt flats again?"

Sl: Simon ni bil prepričan.
En: Simon wasn't sure.

Sl: V srcu je čutil, da ni šlo zgolj za nedolžno izgubo.
En: In his heart, he felt that it wasn't just an innocent loss.

Sl: Ni bil prepričan o svojih sposobnostih, vendar je nekaj v njem pravilo, naj sledi sledu.
En: He had doubts about his abilities, but something inside him insisted he follow the trail.

Sl: Vrata so bila težka, vendar jih je uspel odpreti.
En: The door was heavy, but he managed to open it.

Sl: Vstopil je v temno notranjost in tam je našel Matejo.
En: He entered the dark interior and there he found Mateja.

Sl: Bila je prestrašena, a nepoškodovana.
En: She was frightened but unharmed.

Sl: "Hvala, Simon," je rekla s tresočim glasom, ko sta počasi odšla iz skladišča.
En: "Thank you, Simon," she said with a trembling voice as they slowly left the warehouse.

Sl: "Nisem vedela, kako naj pridem ven."
En: "I didn't know how to get out."

Sl: Simon je bil presenečen nad seboj.
En: Simon was surprised at himself.

Sl: Uspelo mu je!
En: He had succeeded!

Sl: Premišljujoče je pogledal nad valovi morja, ponosen na svoje odkritje.
En: Thoughtfully, he looked over the ocean waves, proud of his discovery.

Sl: Ko se je festival nadaljeval, se je v Simonu nekaj spremenilo.
En: As the festival continued, something changed in Simon.
