Overnight, President Trump made a major announcement, saying he is pausing Project Freedom to allow for negotiations with Iran to proceed now. Iran's ambassador to Pakistan responded to the announcement by mocking President Trump, posting on X Once beaten twice shy, the US Military remains postured across the region should negotiations with Iran not yield the desired outcome. Reports indicate a one page memorandum of understanding is close to being reached between the United States and Iran. Axios reports this would include a uranium enrichment moratorium as well as the eventual opening of the Strait of Hormuz.

Fox Trade Yanks in Tel Aviv, Israel. Oil prices are down around 6% today. Gas prices have already jumped another nickel a gallon to 453 on average, according to AA first time over 450 since July of 2022. At least five of the seven state Senate Republicans opposed by President Trump for blocking a redistricting proposal in Indiana have lost their primary elections. A sixth is in a race too close to call.

In the neighboring state of Ohio. Former presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy emerged as the Republican nominee for governor. He will face Amy Acton, who ran uncontested in the Democratic primary. There was a crucial special election in Michigan, too. Cheggar green won Michigan's 35th Senate district. His win means the Democratic majority will remain in the state Senate.

It's fox's Madeleine Rivera. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick is at the Capitol this morning for questions from the House Oversight Committee about his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein. It's a closed door interview scheduled in about a half an hour. Epstein files released by the Justice Department in January revealed under route there was later contact between the two than Lutnick had claimed. America's listening to Fox News. Russia violates a ceasefire declared only by Ukraine firing dozens of drones at Ukraine overnight. Russia's Defense Ministry says Ukraine violated its own ceasefire with drones sent over Russian held territory, killing five people in one strike. Russia has proposed a later pause to the fighting Friday and Saturday to coincide with World War II Victory Day. Secretary of State Marco Rubio will be on a plane to Italy today for meetings with Italian officials. And tomorrow morning, Pope Leo.

The president accused Pope Leo Monday of endangering a lot of Catholics and suggested the pontiff believes it's okay for Iran to have a nuclear weapon, something the pope has never said. President Trump has also accused the head of the Catholic Catholic Church of being soft on crime and terror. Now Secretary of State Marco Rubio is setting off to mend fences at the Vatican. He departs tonight and will meet Leo tomorrow. Secretary Rubio has publicly sought to downplay the rift. Pope Leo yesterday insisted there's no doubt about his church's opposition to nuclear weapons. The number of anti Semitic incidents in the US Fell for the first time in five years last year, according to the Anti Defamation League, due in part, it says, to a big decrease in incidents on college campus. The audit counts three murders and 203 physical assaults. A new gun control measure is approved

in Connecticut after more than 24 hours of debate. Lawmakers in the Connecticut state Senate voted largely along party lines to ban a device known as a Glock switch that can illegally convert a standard handgun into a makeshift machine gun. They approved Democratic Governor Ned Lamont's proposal to ban the sale of new Glock pistols in the state. The ban will stay in place until Glock redesigns its handguns to prevent devices like the Glock switch from being attached. Under the legislation, people who currently own Glocks will be allowed to keep their firearms and may continue to sell them. Tanya J. Powers, FOX News.
