A treasonous conspiracy. I'm Jack Callahan, Fox News. That's what the National Director of Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard is calling, which he says was a coordinated effort by the Obama administration to scuttle Donald Trump's first presidential campaign. She's declassified documents which she says proves the Russian collusion investigation was a hoax from the beginning and the Obama administration knew it.
Tulsi Gabbard
Gabber says declassified documents show in the days leading up to the November 26 election, intelligence officials consistently stated Russia, Russia is probably not trying nor have the capability to influence the election by using cyber means. Their tune, she says, changed after the election. And she specifically brings up a December 9, 2016 meeting among Obama intelligence officials, including former DNI James Clapper, John Brennan and former National Security Adviser Susan Rice. After that meeting, Clapper's executive assistant sent an email to intelligence leaders tasking them to create a new assessment, per Obama's request, about the tools Moscow used to influence the 2016 election.

In the opening segment, Jack Callahan introduces a significant political controversy involving Tulsi Gabbard, the National Director of Intelligence. Gabbard accuses the Obama administration of orchestrating a "treasonous conspiracy" aimed at sabotaging Donald Trump's first presidential campaign. She references declassified documents that, according to her, demonstrate the Russian collusion investigation was predetermined to fail.
Jack Callahan [00:02]: "A treasonous conspiracy. That's what the National Director of Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard, is calling..."
Gabbard claims that these documents reveal intelligence officials initially downplayed Russia's capability and intent to influence the 2016 election through cyber means. However, her stance shifted post-election, particularly after a December 9, 2016 meeting involving key Obama administration figures like former DNI James Clapper, John Brennan, and former National Security Adviser Susan Rice. Post-meeting, Clapper's executive assistant purportedly instructed intelligence leaders to reassess Moscow's influence tactics.
Responding to Gabbard's assertions, Madeline Rivera, Director of SPOX, mentions Gabbard's efforts to amend the Justice Department for potential prosecutions. However, Democrats dismiss her claims as baseless. They cite a 2020 Senate report which concluded that while Russia attempted to aid Trump via social media platforms, there was no evidence of vote tampering or interference with voting machines.
A tragic incident unfolded in Vietnam where a tour boat capsized during a sudden thunderstorm on a bay, resulting in 37 fatalities and leaving five individuals missing, as reported by state media. Vietnamese rescuers demonstrated heroism by saving 11 people, including a 14-year-old boy who survived after being trapped in an air pocket within the overturned hull for four hours.
In natural disaster news, a volcano in southwest Iceland continues its relentless eruption, producing significant haze that blankets much of the country. Despite the ongoing activity, tourists are permitted back into safe viewing areas to witness this awe-inspiring natural phenomenon. Experts caution that predicting the eruption's conclusion remains highly uncertain.
President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine has expressed his readiness to negotiate a peace deal with Russia to halt the ongoing conflict between their nations.
Chan Lee reports that Ukraine is making renewed efforts to engage Russia in ceasefire talks scheduled for next week, following a previous negotiation attempt in June that lasted barely an hour. Concurrently, President Donald Trump has issued a stern warning to Russia, threatening steep tariffs unless a ceasefire is achieved within 50 days. Moreover, Trump has hinted at the possibility of imposing secondary tariffs on countries purchasing Russian oil, intensifying economic pressure on Moscow.
Amid these diplomatic maneuvers, Russia launched approximately 300 drone strikes on Ukraine early yesterday morning, resulting in at least one fatality. The escalation of such attacks underscores the tense and volatile nature of the ongoing conflict.
In a surprising turn of events, the CEO of tech company Astronomers, Andy Byron, has resigned following an embarrassing moment on a kiss cam during a Coldplay concert. The incident occurred when Byron was captured embracing a woman who was not his wife.
Daria Albinger [03:03]: "A CEO is out of a job after that embarrassing moment on a kiss cam."
The Astronomers' board has accepted his resignation and initiated a formal investigation to determine if Byron breached the company's code of conduct. The woman involved has been placed on leave, and the event has inadvertently contributed a new phrase to pop culture: "Coldplayed."
A recent study analyzed approximately 2,000 recent home buyers, revealing that nearly 25% of Gen Z and millennial purchasers depended on cash gifts or inheritances for their down payments. Specifically, over 20% utilized cash gifts, while about 11% relied on inherited funds. This trend highlights the challenges faced by younger generations in affording homes amidst escalating real estate prices.
