The job market is cooled off big time. I'm Dave Anthony, FOX News. There's been a lot less hiring the last three months. Fox's Ginny Casola has the numbers this morning.
Ginny Casola
The unemployment rate rose to 4.2% in July and job creation was much weaker than expected. There were only 73,000 new positions created last month. Economists were estimating 110,000. And June's job creation which had been reported at 147,000 positions, has been revised down to just 14,000.
Dave Anthony
And May's hiring was also review vised way lower, 125,000 fewer jobs than initially reported. And on Wall street, there is a big sell off. The Dow is dropping 660 points and President Trump is angry, continuing to demand the Federal Reserve slash interest rates substantially. He's upset the Fed chairs refused to do so.
Jason Chaffetz
Raging this morning at Jerome Powell. 3 Truth Social posts already and one of them he's calling him Trump. Too late, pal. A stubborn moron. If he continues to refuse, the board should assume control.
Dave Anthony
Fox's Peter Doocy at the White House. The president also posted that tariffs are bringing billions of dollars into the US New charges on imports from dozens of countries will go into effect next Thursday.
Dana Perino
Countries with a surplus of U.S. goods see a 10% tariff. Those with a small deficit see a 15% rate. And then there's that third bucket of larger deficit countries. Their rates will be determined by a deal with or a letter.
Dave Anthony
Fox's Madeleine Rivera, US Special envoy Steve Witkoff and ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee went to Gaza today amid an international outcry over starving Palestinians. But Huckabee just told the Brian Kilmeade radio show the UN has done a bad job distributing food and Hamas has.
Mike Huckabee
Been stealing about 80% of the food. Some say even more than that.
Dave Anthony
The ambassador says they visited u S backed food distribution sites.
Mike Huckabee
The GHF food program is working. It's working very well. In fact, today we passed over 100 million meals having been served in two months.
