Palestinians report more deaths today in the ongoing attacks on crowds near food distribution sites. Fox's Bill Hemmer is in Israel and just visited Gaza at an American backed site handing out food.

With no ceasefire deal in place with Hamas after talks broke down again, Israeli security officials meet later today considering a reported plan to escalate the war and occupy Gaza. Back to President Trump on cnbc two days before new tariffs go into effect on dozens of countries imports. He warned the 25% charge for India might go higher, punishing India for supplying Russia with oil. The president also says he plans big tariffs next year on prescription drugs and treatments.

It's a mixed stock market this morning on Wall Street. The Dow's down 46 points, but the Nasdaq is gaining 43. The S&P 500 is only up a fraction. We got an update on the economy showing the trade deficit shrank in June down to $60.2 billion. That's less than May, the lowest in September. 2023. Import dropped almost 4%. We got a new report into a disaster at sea. Big story we all followed for a week in June of 2023.

The U.S. coast Guard Marine Board of Investigations report on the Titan submersible called the disaster that killed five people on the way to the Titanic ruins preventable. At more than 300 pages, the report recaps the two year investigation into the tragedy, saying there is a need for stronger oversight and includes 17 safety recommendations aimed at strengthening submersible operations. The report says Oceangate, the owner of Titan, failed to address problems with the vessel's hull after its 2022 Titanic expedition. It says the company also did not do any preventative maintenance or properly store the Titan in the off season before the deadly 2023 trip. Tanya J.

Sean Diddycombs lost his bid Monday to be released ahead of his Oct. 3 sentencing, his lawyers arguing that defendants in similar prostitution related cases were often released before sentencing. Prosecutors countered that he remained a danger to the community, pointing to evidence of violence presented at trial. In his ruling, the judge wrote that Combs argument might have traction in a case that didn't involve evidence of violence, coercion or subjugation. But the record here contains evidence of all three. The hip hop mogul was acquitted of the most serious charges in his sex crimes trial, but convicted on two counts of transportation for prostitution under the Man Act.
