28 year old Harjinder Singh facing three counts of vehicular homicide, three counts of manslaughter and he has not yet entered a plea of guilty or not guilty. The judge acknowledged Singh is an illegal alien. She said he's a substantial flight risk. Singh saying no conditions of release would ensure his appearance at trial. So all this comes after Singh allegedly killed three people on a Florida highway earlier this month. Video shows Singh making an illegal U turn in an 18 wheeler while a minivan crashes into the truck. Questions remain as to how Singh was able to get a commercial driver's license in both California and Washington state.

Police Chief Michael O' Brien said he understood the bus turned on its side during the crash but came back upright as students were evacuating the vehicle. Texas state lawmakers finally passed a new redistricting map early yesterday morning that could allow Republicans more seats in Congress during the midterms, but it's already facing legal challenges.

Democrats and outside groups have already been preparing lawsuits to challenge the new map, and they are asking the courts for an expedited hearing early next month so that they can try to get the map thrown out before for the midterm elections. Democrats argue the new congressional districts violate the Voting Rights act if the new maps stand. One Democrat who won't be running for re election is Congressman Lloyd Doggett. Here he is reacting to the bill's passage.
