Cutting the Harris cord. I'm Therese Crowley. Fox News. President Trump revoking the Secret Service protection of former Vice President Kamala Harris. A Harris spokesman says no reason given her six months by federal law was up in July, but former President Biden had extended it. She lives in California. California's Democrat Governor Newsom takes another page from the Trump playbook with a crime crackdown.

Governor Gavin Newsom's idea is that something called a California suppression team will have more success at deterring crime in high crime areas then than actually guard. And what these California suppression teams would do is make state police more visible in high crime areas and also have state police start sharing more intel about criminals with local partners. And this is what Newsom's going to try to replicate. DC's stats since August 7th, 1,283 total arrests. Nine known gang members arrested including Ms. 13 and Trende Aragua. And five missing children rescued. Plus 135 firearms seized to date, 1550 homeless encampments cleared out.

Officials say that shooter left multiple anti religious references in his manifesto and written on firearms. That manifesto expressing a deep hatred toward almost all groups and people, including African Americans, President Trump and Jewish people.

Labor Day getaway with an important inflation reading this morning. The July PCE consumer price index exactly as forecast, up 2 10. Gas prices down 16 cents from last year with a record 17 million people expected to hit the skies and the roads. Fox's Dana Marie McNicollet.

Miami airport major airlines say that this Labor Day weekend is going to be the busiest yet. United says it's expecting nearly 250,000 more passengers boarding their planes than last year. And American Airlines, they're Preparing for almost 4 million travelers making its largest ever Labor Day operation. Now TSA is projecting 17.4 million people will head out the door for this Labor Day weekend through Wednesday. And for road trippers, we have some good news for you this morning. This is the cheapest holiday weekend at the pump since 2020. The average price for gas is hovering around $3.20 per gallon, all according to AAA.

And Vice President J.D. vance has been traveling the country highlighting President Trump's Big beautiful bill and telling FOX he believes housing costs are coming down by cutting the number of illegal migrants competing for limited housing.
