Will he do in Chicago what he did in Washington? I'm Dave Anthony, Fox News. President Trump posted on Truth social crime is totally out of control in Chicago while D.C. is crime free after his crackdown that includes National Guard troops. He also wrote this morning, wow, Mayor.

D.C. mayor Muriel Bowser says even she appreciates the federal assistance, though she she says she does oppose the increase in ICE and National Guard presence. The D.C. government reports a 44% drop in violent crime during the federal surge compared to the same stretch last year. The president highlighted reports of several murders in Chicago last week and says he'll surge federal law enforcement next to Chicago if Illinois Governor J.B. pritzker fails to get crime under control there. Pritzker says he'd welcome more federal police like the FBI or atf, but not the National Guard.

A federal judge has blocked deportation flights carrying children who came to the US as unaccompanied minors back to their home country of Guatemala. Lawyers for some of the children say they don't want to go, that they fear for their safety. They'd been abused and or neglected in that country. This is the end of the two week time frame. President Trump gave Russian leader Vladimir Putin to make some serious progress on meeting with Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to hold peace talks on stopping the war or potentially face U.S. sanctions. But Putin is in China and didn't say anything about those talks.

Larry Pickett Jr. Who plays football at the United States Military Academy at West Point, was caught on video pulling a man from a burning car in Fort Montgomery, New York. Fort Montgomery is about 50 miles north of New York City, where Pickett had been to dinner with his family that evening before they saw the crash's aftermath and he jumped in to Video posted by his father on Facebook shows Pickett, known as L.J. running toward the vehicle and pulling a man out of the driver's seat just after he moved the man to safety. The vehicle was in flames. Pickett's father says he and his son stayed with the man until first responders arrived in New York. TANYA J.
