All right, back to that stock market rise. On Wall street, the dow is surging up 475 points. The S&P 500 adding 33. The Nasdaq is gaining 81 on top of yesterday's record high close. The price of oil, though, is down more than a dollar. It's back under 63 bucks a barrel now. More details on that inflation report out this morning, as well as a job market update.

The prices you pay, the consumer price index rose slight than expected in August, up 0.4%. The CPI readings are mixed. Core CPI excluding food and energy, rose just 0.3% for the year ending in August. CPI was up 2.9%, up 3.1% for core CPI as expected. However, a separate report says the number of people signing up for unemployment benefits rose last week to 263,000, the most in nearly four years. Those remaining on benefits during the week ending August 30 also rose. Most economists expect the Fed to lower interest rates by a quarter of a percent next week because of signs the job market is cooling. Jenny Costelda, FOX News.
