This is a FOX News alert. The suspected Charlie Kirk assassin captured. I'm Dave Anthony. That's what President Trump told FOX and Friends this morning after images and surveillance videos of the suspect had been made public.

Somebody this close recognizes even a little tilt of the head which nobody else would do. And somebody that was very close to him said, that's him.

We're still awaiting official word from the FBI at a news conference that's been delayed a little bit. Fox's CB Cotton from Utah Valley University where Kirk was murdered Wednesday.

The suspect has now been identified as Tyler Robinson. And we are hoping to learn more about who this person is at this news conference. But we heard this morning President Trump seemed to suggest that a person close to Tyler turned him in. What I'm hearing from one federal source I just got a note from, is that this suspect's father turned him in last night in southern Utah.

Now back to the president on fox. He again claimed Washington is crime free now after his federal crackdown on D.C. that included national Guard troops and federal agents. And he still wants to intervene in Chicago, too. But Democrats keep resisting federal help.

A Fox News poll, though, shows more people disapprove of the job the president's doing than approve. By a 54, 46 margin, the opinion.

Of the economy is dropping. Last month, 32% rated it excellent or good. Now that number is 29%. The biggest issue for families, 58% say grocery prices, 49%, housing costs. Gas prices are at 33%. He mentioned gas prices. AAA's national average for regular is down a fraction today. Now $3.18 per gallon, 4 cents more than a month ago, 6 cents cheaper than a year ago as the price of oil rises almost a dollar back over 63 bucks. A barre referenced the Yankees game. He was there last night in New York where they paid tribute to nine, 11 victims and first responders 24 years after the terror attack, the president met the team and then watched them win.
