Disaster drills are happening throughout Mexico today, which is the 40th anniversary of a monster 8.1 magnitude quake that claimed the lives of thousands. It's also the eighth anniversary of the 7.1 quake that killed more than 350 people. So the Mexico News Daily reports cell phones throughout the country are supposed to get simultaneous alerts as part of disaster prep. Some parts of Mexico will get hurricane warnings, others will get forest fire warnings and others will be getting message about a quake. Of California voters say they would approve a plan to temporarily change congressional district maps in Democrats favor next year to counter pro Republican redistricting.
