The White House is also threatening to lay off thousands of federal workers.

If the shutdown continues past this coming Saturday, the Smithsonian would close the following day. Efforts are underway to reach a Middle east ceasefire.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says he hopes to announce the release of all hostages from Gaza in the coming days. This after both Israel and Hamas signaled willingness to accept President Trump's 20 point plan to end the war. Delegations from Israel, Hamas and the US all set to meet in Egypt on Monday to try to finalize details. Hamas has stopped short of formally accepting the deal. Now the multi phase plan calls for the immediate cease fire and release of all remaining 48 hostages. About 20 or so are expected to be found alive. It also establishes an international governing board to oversee Gaza and for Hamas to fully disarm and dismantle.

That's foxes. Kevin Cork South Carolina State University was placed on lockdown overnight after a shooting was reported. School police say they're investigating after shots were heard at an on campus housing complex. The university ordered students in that dorm to remain there while other students were evacuated or told to return to their dorms. No reports of injuries. America's listening to Fox News.

Pushing back on the agitators, firing tear gas, mace and making multiple arrests overnight in Portland but judges are blocking President Trump from intervening, halting National Guard deployment to Portland, claiming he is exceeding his presidential authority. And it's not just Portland, with multiple clashes reported between police and anti ice protesters in Chicago overnight. One such clash leading to Border Patrol agents having to shoot an armed woman as she and an angry mob ambushed officers ramming into law enforcement vehicles while armed with a semi automatic weapon. DHS revealing that the woman has a history of doxxing agents.

The Red Mass dates back to the 1950s. A church service at Washington's Cathedral of St. Matthew the Apostle the Sunday before the first Monday in October. The Supreme Court's term begins tomorrow. This morning, the mass service, led by Cardinal McElroy, will invoke God's blessing on those respond for the administration of justice. Supreme Court justices and other public officials attend. Nectar's in downtown Burlington announced a summer pause back in June, but later confirmed it would not reopen, citing financial struggles and ongoing construction downtown.
