The Sandy fire broke out this morning in the Simi Valley area near the Reagan Library and scorched more than 800 acres. So far, it's currently at 0% containment. This area is about an hour away from the Palisades where a death deadly fire destroyed thousands of homes and claimed the lives of 12 people last year. Now in this fire, the Sandy fire, more than 8,000 structures are in the evacuation area and at least 500 firefighters are working to get this blaze under control.

President Trump writing on Truth Social this afternoon that he has called off a planned attack of Iran tomorrow. The president has been unable to reach a deal to end the war with Iran, but he seemed more optimistic today.

Good news for commuters in the New York metropolitan area. The Long island railroad strike has been settled. New York Governor Kathy Hochul confirming the news on X, saying trains will begin running tomorrow at noon. A California woman accused of paying people to register to vote makes a plea deal.

The Justice Department says 64 year old Brenda Lee Armstrong agrees to plead guilty after being charged with one felony count of paying another person to register to vote. Federal prosecutors say she solicited signatures for ballot initiatives, often paying people two to three dollars, including in the Skid Row section of downtown la, known for its homeless population, sometimes giving people her former LA address to list on registration forms. The plea agreement says Armstrong also received payment for each registered voter's signature, working for about 20 years as a petition circulator. An Iraqi national will stand trial in New York federal court on charges applauding more than a dozen terror attacks on US Jewish institutions in response to US and Israeli strikes on Iran.

The 32 year old Mohamed Al Saadi is facing federal charges. According to the doj. He's the senior commander of an Iranian backed terror group that has been involved in nearly 20 attacks that were either still being planned out or some that had already happened, including an attempted murder of two Jewish men that happened in the UK earlier this month. They had other bombings that were planned, according to the court documents, across the US And Europe, including the Israeli embassy in London, a Bank of America building in Paris and Jewish institutions like synagogues in New York City, Los Angeles and in Scottsdale, Arizona. Al Saudi was arrested in Turkey. The feds went out there and arrested him, brought him back to New York.
