It took a jury in Tarrant county about 20 minutes to hand out a life sentence for former Everman Deputy Fire Chief Joel Jones after the 54 year old pled guilty to orchestrating a violent home invasion rape last year, recruiting another man through a dating website to carry out the assault, falsely telling him the encounter was a consensual fantasy. Investigators say Jones had instructed the man to record the sexual assault, that he attempted to arrange for the woman to be kidnapped and raped a second time. 31 year old tobacia Griffiths cooperated, pled guilty to aggravated assault and was given 10 years probation.
