Kani Taylor was arrested in Columbus and will face 11 counts of filon assault. U.S. marshals and Ohio State Police helped detain him. Authorities say video evidence shows Taylor firing into a crowd at a neighborhood Festival in Toledo June 6. An eyewitness also placed Taylor at the scene.

Judge Gregory Caro says Luigi Mangione's attorneys have told him they will attempt to show that their client was suffering from, quote, extreme emotional disturbance at the time of the shooting. If they're successful, Mangione could be sent to a psychiatric treatment facility instead of prison. It comes two weeks after a secret hearing was held at the request of the defense. Mangione has pleaded not guilty to state and federal charges in the death of Brian Thompson, the UnitedHealthcare CEO who was on his way to an investor meeting when he was shot in Midtown Manhattan in December 2024. Voters in Oklahoma reject a bid to raise the state's minimum wage to $15 an hour.

State Question 832 would have amended Oklahoma's Minimum Wage act to increase it gradually with a goal of $15 per hour by 2029. Many workers spoke in favor of the state question, with several small businesses saying that they were concerned how the minimum wage increase might impact them as well as jobs. Ultimately, voters Tuesday had their say rejecting sq.830. State chambers say that voters chose to protect economic momentum and one of Oklahoma's greatest competitive advantages, affordability.
