So it's a minimal low grade tropical storm. The number one impact by far will be the locally heavy rain, especially along and where the the center comes on shore sometime late tonight, but more than likely sometime Sunday morning, maybe before sunrise, maybe just after sunrise. It's a broad center at this point. It's moving north at 2, but it's expected to move more north and northeast and pick up some forward speed. This is not going to rapidly intensify. It's not expected to. Between sheer and dry air, we don't expect it to become any more than a tropical storm. The Official forecast is at 4 to increase to 45 miles an hour.

Donald Trump

It's the most popular bill ever signed in the history of our country. Whether you're military or anybody else, this is the most single most popular bill ever signed.
The big beautiful bill, as the president dubbed it, extends and expands tax cuts approved during his first term and gives a massive funding boost to border and immigration enforcement. It also includes an overhaul of Medicaid and food stamps. Democrats say those cuts will mean millions lose health and nutrition benefits. At the White House, Jared Halpern, FOX News.

Summary of Fox News Hourly Update - 10PM ET 07/05/2025
Release Date: July 6, 2025
The latest episode of the Fox News Hourly Update provides a comprehensive overview of significant national and international events, including devastating floods in Texas, the approach of Tropical Storm Chantal, political developments involving Elon Musk, President Trump’s legislative actions, evolving U.S.-Ukraine relations, and a tragic mass shooting in Philadelphia. Below is a detailed summary capturing all key discussions, insights, and conclusions from the newscast.
Host Daria Albinger opens the newscast with alarming reports on unprecedented flooding in central Texas. The disaster has tragically resulted in over 43 fatalities with numerous individuals still missing.
Governor Greg Abbott emphasizes the urgency of the situation, stating at [00:17]:
“My instruction to every state agency involved in this is to assume everybody who is missing is alive. And there's a need for speed. Not just every hour, every minute counts.”
The Guadalupe River has surged over 20 feet in less than an hour, exacerbating the flooding and raising concerns for residents attempting to travel home from July 4th celebrations.
Transitioning from the Texas crisis, Daria Albinger reports on Tropical Storm Chantal, which is nearing South Carolina with winds reaching up to 40 miles per hour.
Mike Seidel of Fox Weather in Folly Beach provides an in-depth analysis at [00:49]:
“So it's a minimal low grade tropical storm. The number one impact by far will be the locally heavy rain, especially along and where the center comes on shore sometime late tonight, but more than likely sometime Sunday morning, maybe before sunrise, maybe just after sunrise. It's a broad center at this point. It's moving north at 2, but it's expected to move more north and northeast and pick up some forward speed. This is not going to rapidly intensify. It's not expected to. Between shear and dry air, we don't expect it to become any more than a tropical storm. The official forecast is 40 to increase to 45 miles an hour.”
Chantal is the third named storm of the 2025 Atlantic hurricane season, and residents are advised to stay vigilant as preparations continue.
In a significant political development, Elon Musk has declared his intention to form a new political party named the America Party. This move comes in response to concerns from his followers on social media platform X, who are seeking alternatives beyond the traditional Republican and Democratic parties.
Daria Albinger reports at [01:22]:
“His followers on X say they want a choice besides Republican and Democrats. So Elon Musk now says he's going to form a political party. He's calling it the America Party. According to Musk's posts on X, the new party will target a few key seats in Congress. The goal is to create a swing block powerful enough to knock off what Musk sees as the worst excesses by both parties.”
This initiative aims to influence the political landscape by focusing on pivotal congressional seats, potentially altering the balance of power.
A major legislative milestone was achieved as President Trump signed a significant tax and spending package, dubbed the “Big Beautiful Bill”, which he proudly declares as the most popular bill ever signed in U.S. history.
At [03:11], Trump announces:
“Minutes after B2 bombers and F22 and F35 jets flew over the White House as part of a July 4th celebration, President Trump signed the Republican tax and spending cuts package.”
He further emphasizes at [03:22]:
“It's the most popular bill ever signed in the history of our country. Whether you're military or anybody else, this is the single most popular bill ever signed.”
The bill extends and expands tax cuts from his first term and allocates substantial funding boosts to border and immigration enforcement. It also entails significant overhauls of Medicaid and food stamps programs. Democrats have criticized the legislation, arguing that the proposed cuts will result in millions losing vital health and nutritional benefits.
Following a period of strained relations, indications suggest that President Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky may be mending their relationship.
Daria Albinger introduces the segment at [03:55]:
“The frosty relationship between President Trump and the leader of Ukraine may be thawing. Here's Fox's Jonada.”
Jonada recounts previous tensions and recent developments:
“Remember back in late February, the heated White House exchange between President Trump and President Zelensky.”
“Then in April, the two met in Rome before the funeral of Pope Francis. The White House called it a productive discussion. Trump and Zelensky also talked Friday. Zelensky said in his daily video address, 'It was probably the best conversation we have had. We discussed air defense issues and I'm grateful for the willingness to help. The Patriot system is precisely the key to protection against ballistic threats.'”
This improved dialogue indicates potential support from the U.S. to Ukraine, particularly concerning air defense systems like the Patriot missiles, which could play a critical role in shielding against ballistic threats.
Tragedy struck early this morning in Philadelphia, where a mass shooting resulted in eight injuries, two of which are reported as critical.
At [04:47], Daria Albinger details the incident:
“Philadelphia police are looking into a mass shooting that happened early this morning. They say eight people were injured and that two of them are now in critical condition. There's still no word on a suspect or suspects nor do police say, do they have a motive for the shooting.”
Authorities are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting, but as of this broadcast, no suspects or motives have been identified.
