Deadly fighting continues. I'm Debra Valentine, FOX News. Russia and Ukraine are trading deadly strikes as President Trump claims the end of the war is near. Fox's Greg Palkot has the latest from London.

And a shortage of US Defense systems, especially Patriot interceptors, allowing dangerous ballistic missiles to get through as attacks have been ramping up on both sides. Ukrainian long range drones striking again, hitting Russia's biggest refinery deep in Siberia some 1700 miles away. Way fuel shortages not easing up. There was some diplomacy over the weekend. President Trump speaking by phone with Russian President Putin and separately with Ukrainian President Zelensky. Trump claims they both want the fighting to end. NATO leaders when they meet are set to pledge $80 billion for this year plus the same next year in military supplies, including those much needed missiles for Ukraine.

President Trump is set to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on the sidelines of the NATO summit in Ankara this Wednesday. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Sch Schumer is among several high profile Democrats asking Maine Democratic Senate candidate Graham Platner to drop out that after another woman came forward with allegations he sexually assaulted her. On fox's the Ingraham Angle, Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman says his thoughts are with the victim.
John Fetterman
It was very brave for her to come at this. I'm so sorry for what she's been through at this. Right.
Debra Valentine
Platner denies the allegations, calling them categorically false. In a social media video, the grandfather of a 20 year shot and killed by the Tennessee National Guard in Memphis over the weekend says he wants answers from law enforcement. Evanielle Johnson said he is waiting to see if video footage supports the police narrative that his grandson Tyron Johnson turned towards US Guard members with a gun before Johnson was fatally shot. The National Guard hasn't responded to her request for comment. America's listening to FOX News.

The state's first witness testified today during a preliminary hearing for the man accused of assassinating Turning Point USA Charlie Kirk. Fox's Claudia Cowan reports from Provo, Utah.
Claudia Cowan
Chris Bagley, a police officer working at Utah Valley University. On September 10, when Charlie Kirk was assassinated, he described hearing the gunshot, seeing Kirk slumped to the side and the screams that followed. That prompted some in the courtroom to start crying and the Kirks to walk out. Bagley also described the rooftop where prosecutors believe Robinson fired the fatal shot, saying he noticed the gravel had been disturbed and looked like a, quote, sniper pad. Bagley also said he found a screwdriver on the roof. FBI Director Cash Patel previously told Fox that DNA from the screwdriver matched Robinson's.

Robinson hasn't entered a plea. The federal government has officially shut down the Department of Government Efficiency. DOGE didn't meet its goal of cutting the federal budget by a trillion dollars. Fox Business's Darren Botello reports from Washington.
Darren Botello
As of the deadline this past Saturday, the Department of Government efficienc fell short of that goal by $785 billion. Now Scott Cooper and the Office of Personnel Management is going long.
Scott Cooper
You know, OPM is a cross functional agency. So like I can't reach into HHS and say you must stop spending in this area. What we are trying to do is look, we've set a set of rules and policies and we are helping manage them.
Darren Botello
Doge left with parting words on X. Good stewardship of taxpayer dollars and accountable government are not temporary initiatives. We hope those principles endure long into America's next 250 years, embodying the same spirit as billionaire Elon Musk, who helped start doge.
Debra Valentine
Elon Musk, who headed DOGE in the beginning, initially promised to cut the federal budget by some $2 trillion. I'm Debra Valentine. This is Fox News.
