Watching the numbers. I'm Lisa Licera, FOX news. They're tallying the votes in Michigan where progressive Abdul Al Said is hoping to defeat Congresswoman Haley Stevens in the Democratic Senate primary.

They're trying to prove that not only can progressive candidates win in places like New York City and districts in Colorado and other districts around the country, but they can win a statewide primary, a statewide open primary in a state that President Trump won a couple of years ago.

Fox's Rich Edson in Detroit, the winner of tonight's contest will face Republican Mike Rogers in November. Elsewhere in Michigan, Congressman Rashida Tlaib, a member of the so called squad, has fended off a primary challenger in Missouri. One time squad member Cori Bush has lost in her bid to reenter Congress. She was defeated by Congressman Wesley Bell. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department says they arrested a man Sunday armed with a gun and ammunition who appeared to be scoping out President Trump's golf course outside Los Angeles where he's delivering a speech tonight at a fundraiser. Jeanine John Taylor faces several felony charges including robbery out of the city of Downey.
