And while most Greenlanders favor independence from Denmark, they do not want a union with the US and tensions have recently risen. Denmark's foreign minister summoning the top US Diplomat in the country, Mark Stroh, over reports alleging that several Americans connected to Trump had been carrying out covert influence operations on the island to promote its succession from Denmark.
