No closer to a deal. I'm Lisa Lacera, FOX News. With just over 24 hours until the deadline for a partial government shutdown, lawmakers headed into a White House meeting to try to reach a deal. But House Speaker Mike Johnson tells fox's Sean Hannity there's no deal in sight.

If there's no deal, the partial government shutdown will go into effect October 1st. The White House says it's waiting for Hamas after Israel signed off on a deal to end the war in Gaza and will allow for for all hostages to be released in a matter of days. Envoy Steve Witkoff says part of the plan will allow Palestinians to self govern.

That will be in large part Palestinians governing Palestinians. And so that new government has a lot to do. They need to get a security force in there.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is on board but has warned if Hamas rejects the deal, Israel will move forward with his plan to eliminate Hamas. The state of Iowa has revoked the license of Des Moines school Superintendent Ian Roberts days after he was arrested by agents over accusations he was living in the US Illegally. School board chair Jackie Norris says they had no prior knowledge of the allegations.
