More rumbling in the skies. I'm Paul Stevens, FOX News. A powerful nor' easter set to slam parts of east coast this weekend. It could bring the heaviest snow in decades for the Carolinas. FOX Weather's Mike Sidell. And Kill Devil Hills got our first.

Flake slide here on the outer Banks of east here at Killdello Hills down to Kitty Hawk, up to Duck at the very, very beginning of what's going to be a long 24 hours of snow. Heavy snow at times and wind gusts over 50 miles an hour. The Atlantic has churned up quite a bit since yesterday with the increased wind. By the way, the water temperature here is in the mid-40s. Down in Buxton and Hatteras, it's in the mid-60s. So down there, temperatures are a little bit above freezing. They may actually just get rain for a while and then they'll change over to snow this evening. We're expecting all snow here right now.

And the governors of North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia already declaring states of emergency, A partial shutdown underway of the federal governments.
Mike Johnson
That's because the Senate changed what the House passed last week. The Senate approved five spending bills, but Democrats insisted on holding up the DHS bill. They wanted changes at ice. The Senate broke off the DHS bill and sent the rest of the package back to the House. That triggers a shutdown until at least Monday night. Now House Speaker Mike Johnson implored Republicans to vote yes on Monday that would end the shutdown after 70 hours. But DHS is only funded for two weeks.
Paul Stevens
Not clear how many House members will support that revised package next week. Violent agitators, protesters arrested outside the federal detention center in Los Angeles on Friday. Thousands meeting in front of city hall before many march to the federal center where a mob swarmed the area. All the unrest coming as cities across the US Many of them taking part in the ICE out everywhere protest. America is listening to FOX News.

Another judge blocks a voter ID order issued by President Trump.
Jared Halpern
Congress and the states have power to set rules for federal elections, not the president. A federal judge ruled, striking down parts of an executive order tightening citizenship verification for voter registration and absentee ballot applications. District Court Judge Colleen Kolar Kutelli blocked provisions of the order, writing the Constitution does not allow the president to impose unilateral changes to federal election procedures. Since President Trump signed the order in March, several other federal judges have ruled against the administration, triggering appeals that ultimately could reach the Supreme Court. House Republicans, meantime, releasing a plan they say will better secure US Election Dubbed.
Ryan Schmell
The Make Elections Great Again act, the GOP led bill would require photo ID when casting a ballot and verification of citizenship when registering to vote. The MEGA act would also require mail in ballots be received by the time polls close on Election Day. While some states allow mail in ballots be received after Election Day. It's part of Republicans push to secure U.S. elections. But House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries calls it dead on arrival.

Voter suppression is part of the Republican plan to try desperately to hold on to power.
Ryan Schmell
It's unclear how soon the bill could get a vote in the House. On Capitol Hill, Ryan Schmell's Fox News.

And hospitals in Gaza saying Israeli strikes killed at least 30 Palestinians today. The casualties included two women, they say, and six kids from two different families. The series of strikes also coming a day before the Rafah crossing along the border with Egypt is set to open again in Gaza's southernmost. The crossing's opening limited at first, marks the first major step in the second phase of a US Brokered ceasefire. I'm Paul Stevens. This is Fox News.
