One officer injured, the suspect in a hoodie found armed and captured near the high school. But a 33 year old officer, Brian Elliott died of his gunshot wounds. Described as a Beach Grove kid who always wanted to serve his hometown in even his favorite police movie was Hot Fuzz. The Beech Grove High School graduate went on to Indiana University to earn his criminal justice degree with honors served at the Marion County Sheriff's Office, married his wife Erin in the final hours, given life saving care at Eskenazi Hospital where he had once cared for the staff and patients as their security officer.
