The FBI has been in contact with Mexican authorities about the Guthrie case. And while we're told that this is standard operating procedure for a case like this so close to the border, it is notable here because it speaks to the wide net that has been cast in this investigation. Now, hundreds of federal and state investigators are working this case hard. There have been tens of thousands of tips called in. The sheriff says he remains optimistic as long as these tips keep coming in.

While we await a Supreme Court ruling still on a challenge to President Trump's legal authority to impose tariffs on imports from around the world, we have a trade update.
Ginny Coselda
The Commerce department says the U.S. trade deficit rose in December, topping $70 billion. But for the whole year, it declined to 901 billion. That's down from 904 billion in 2020. Four companies were importing more foreign goods early in the year ahead of tariffs. Then the trend moderated. In December, U.S. imports rose by 3.6% and exports declined 1.7%, though the Wall Street Journal says swings in international gold trading and imports of tech equipment impacted December's numbers. Ginny Coselda, FOX News.

Later today, the U.S. women's hockey team plays Canada for the gold medal. The bronze medal game now is in overtime.
