Fox News polling last week shows Democrats in both races leading their Republican opponents. The economy, immigration, energy cost and health care are dominant issues. New York City residents are also electing a new mayor in a race that has energized progressives. 34 year old Democratic Socialist Zoran Mamdani holds a commanding double digit lead in polling against former Governor Andrew Cuomo who failed to win the Democratic nomination in this year's primary election.

Fox's Alexandria Hoff Trump administration's position is that cartel strikes do not fall under the War Powers Resolution because troops are not being sent into hostilities within the resolution. Hostilities is kind of vague. It's been interpreted differently in the past. But action it did kill three men who Secretary Hegsett described as narco terrorists carrying illicit drugs to the U.S. he added a promise in his post, the department will treat them exactly how we treated Al Qaed. We will continue to track them, map them, hunt them and kill them.

And the Supreme Court hears oral arguments Wednesday on whether President Trump had the power to impose sweeping global tariffs. President Trump tells reporters economic health is.

Senators return to work following another three day weekend. The floor opens late this afternoon, perhaps giving senators enough time to get through airport flight delays caused by tower staffing, shortages in the shutdown and as we get into November, concerns about Thanksgiving travel plans if this goes on. Fox's Brooke Taylor reporting from Dallas Fort Worth.

Over this weekend we saw 15,000 delays. The transportation secretary, Sean Duffy says it's only going to get worse as the government shutdown continues. The delays and cancellations this morning, so not too bad right now. But again, as the day kicks off, we expect those numbers unfortunately to get higher. So this weekend the FAA said there were staffing shortages at half of busiest facilities. Nearly 80% of air controllers were missing from New York area facilities. The average delay there for arriving flights was over three and a half hours.
