Trying to end the government shutdown. I'm Ted Lindner. FOX News. As the shutdown continues into its second month, there are now enough Senate Democrats willing to back a revamped plan to reopen the government. Fox's Chad Pergrim with the latest for us tonight.

Now, it is a test vote, as we say, but it's more than just that. That will tell us if they are successful, if the government shutdown is going to end and the government is going to reopen. This is going to be about the math. It's whether or not all Republicans combined with a group of Democrats can get to votes and break a filibuster if they get to that 60 vote threshold. That vote, that test vote is almost more important than final passage, which could come later in the evening, tonight, maybe in the overnight, maybe Monday or Tuesday.

Apparently tonight, Fox has told final passage of the plan and the Senate to reopen the government will not happen tonight. It may happen tomorrow if any one senator chooses to slow this down. They could track it out for days, though, before it can be sent to the House. So stay tuned as the shutdown continues Sunday, day 40. Airlines continue to comply with FAA flight restrictions to deal with the air traffic controller callouts. Airlines have canceled over 2,600 flights today. And Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy telling FOX if the government shutdown continues, it's only going to get worse.
