In Washington, officials are now conducting search warrants and speaking to anyone that might have known this suspect as the investigation shifts to his past. Like looking at his life in Afghanistan before he moved to the United States in 2021. Officials say 29 year old Ramanula Lakanwal was vetted by the intelligence community for his work with CIA in Afghanistan before being granted humanitarian parole through an Operation Allies welcome program. Now this program under the Biden administration allowed him to settle in Washington state with his wife and five kids. He would have also have been screened by the Trump administration before receiving asylum earlier this year. Now, what may have motivated him to drive across the country and carry out a deadly ambush remains unanswered.

That's Fox's Dana Marie McNicoll reporting. And the suspect faces first degree murder charges. Tennessee is now counting down the final days before a special election that Republicans fear could flip a House seat to the Democrats. Republican Tennessee congressional candidate Matt Van Epps tells fox's Saturday in America he's confident he'll win. We will win decisively on December 2nd when everybody puts their jersey on and gets on the field and stands behind us. Van Epps's Democratic opponent, Afton Bain has faced criticism for expressing negative feelings toward Nashville, a major city in the district that she aims to win over. Texas Congressman Troy Nels is not seeking reelection. The Republican, who's a close ally of President Trump, said that he came to his decision after consulting his family during the Thanksgiving holiday. Nels has served in Congress since 2021. Shortly after the announcement, his twin brother, Trevor Nelz announced that he would seek his brother's open seat. America's listening to fox.
