Monday night, investigators followed leads to the suspect's car in a storage facility in Salem, New Hampshire where 48 year old Claudio Neves Valente was found dead due to a self inflicted gunshot wound. Prior to Providence Police Chief Colonel Oscar Perez, he was a Brown student, he was a Portuguese national and his last.

Rhode Island Attorney General Peter Narana on what else was found two firearms and evidence in the car that that matches exactly what we see at the seen here in Providence. Two students were killed in that shooting last weekend. Nine others were injured.

Attorney General Pam Bonney in a statement praising federal prosecutors for what she called incredible work. The US Military says it's conducted two more strikes against boats it said were smuggling drugs in the eastern Pacific, killing five people. The strikes have been brought the total number of known boat strikes to 28 with at least 104 people killed. A jury in Milwaukee has found a judge guilty of obstruction for helping an illegal migrant evade federal agents, but not guilty of a lesser charge of concealing the man, Judge Hannah Dugan, could face up to five years in prison.

In their closing arguments, the lead defense attorney tried to cast doubt on almost every key piece of evidence against Dugan while also appealing to any negative features that jury members might have against ICE or President Trump.

A Florida man pleads not guilty to the murder of a young woman once linked to the gilgo beach murders.

66 year old andrew dykes pleading not guilty to the 1997 killing of tanya Denise Jackson in a Nassau County, New York court. The retired army veteran will remain in custody until he returns to court in January. The the defense noting they'll likely challenge DNA evidence allegedly linking him to the case. Jackson, a 26 year old mother, an army veteran's body was found near Lakeview, New York in 1997. The remains of her two year old daughter were found in Gilgo Beach 14 years later, but both bodies weren't identified by DNA until this year. Prosecutors allege Dykes and Jackson had a relationship while stationed at the same military base. Dykes has not been charged in the toddlers killing. Kristin Goodwin, Fox News Investigators initially believe.

Jackson's daughter's death could have been linked to Rex Heuermann's spree of murders on Long Island. Pope Leo has named Bishop Ronald Hicks as the next archbishop of New York. Hicks, who's currently the bishop of Joliet, Illinois, replaced Cardinal Timothy Dolan, who's reached the mandatory retirement age of 75. Inflation eased last month.

The prices you pay for things rose at a smaller pace in November. The Consumer Price index was up 2.7% for the year ending in November. Core CPI excluding food and energy rose 2.6%. Economists were predicting both numbers would top 3%. Cooling inflation supports Federal Reserve policymakers who've endorsed cutting interest rates. Prices have moderated significantly since the peak CPI of 9.1% in June of 2022, though November's numbers still topped April's CPI reading of 2.3%.
