An update on Iran from centcom. I'm Sue Guzman, Fox News. And the head of the U.S. central Command is calling the U.S. s effort to escort ships through the Strait of Hormuz essential to regional security and global economy. With the latest from fox's Jennifer Griffin in Washington.
Jennifer Griffin
CENTCOM Commander Admiral Brad Cooper said the US Military defended two US Commercial vessels as they crossed through the Strait of Hormuz from incoming Iranian cruise missiles and drones. Apache gunship helicopter blew up six Iranian fast boats, threatening those ships. The conflict entered a new phase today with the US Military beginning a new operation to break Iran's attempted blockade of the strait, opening a safe passage lane near Oman while still enforcing a blockade of any tankers and ships leaving Iran's ports. The clock is ticking on Iranian oil storage as crude piles up on tankers and at export hubs like Iran's Kharg Island. Analysts estimate Iran could hit capacity in about a month.

U.S. officials say combat operations could soon be resumed. United States has a major influence on Venezuela's oil industry now following the arrest of its former president Nicolas Maduro earlier this year. Fox's Steve Harrigan is in Caracas with this update.

Talk to people on the streets select. Ask them about what happened here four months ago. Basically the US Military arresting and removing the man who led and ruled this country with an iron fist for more than 12 years. The the reaction of people here in Venezuela is remarkably similar. And while there has been little immediate gain for most ordinary Venezuelans, inflation still over 600%, the currency almost worthless. When you get on a bus here, you have to have fistfuls of that paper currency to actually ride the bus.

And an explosion at a fireworks plant in central China has killed at least 21 people and injured 61 others. 500 rescuers currently at the scene. America's listening to FOX News.
