A sensitive topic. I'm Chris DiMeo, Fox News. The Chinese government says Xi Jinping and President Trump spoke about Taiwan during their meeting on Thursday. China claims that the territory belongs to them and some US Lawmakers have pledged to defend the island where the majority of the world's semiconductors are manufactured.
Chinese Government Official
An official Chinese readout says President Xi stressed that the Taiwan question is the most important issue in China U. S Relations. If it is handled properly, the bilateral relationship will enjoy overall stability. Otherwise the two countries will have clashes and even conflicts. Official US Policy towards control of Taiwan is known as strategic ambiguity. But the US still doesn't think Beijing should try to take over the self governing island.

US District Judge Richard Leon
US District Judge Richard Leon has ruled that The State Department's July 2025 sanctions against Francesca Albanese likely violated her First Amendment rights because they appeared to directly target her speech. Albanese is a UN Human rights investigator whose recent work has focused on the Israeli military campaign against Hamas in Gaz, Gaza. She has served as the UN rapporteur for the Palestinian territories since 2022 and has accused Israel of committing genocide and recommended some Israeli officials to the International Criminal Court for prosecution. In a 26 page decision, Leon said Albanese has done nothing more than speak. The State Department has not responded to the ruling. Tanya J.
