of the Democrats running everything among 61 candidates on the ballot, including former HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra, billionaire Tom Steyer and former Representative Katie Porter looking to replace term limited Governor Gavin Newsom. 14 candidates vying to serve as mayor of Los Angeles. That includes incumbent Karen Bass and Republican Spencer Pratt. In Iowa, Republican U.S. representative Ashley Hinson and Democratic state Representative Josh Durek have won their primaries tonight to face each other in November for the seat being held by the retiring U.S. senator Joni Ernst. Kurt Almay has won the Republican nod for U.S. senate in Montana. And Deb Haaland has won the Democratic nomination for the governor of New Mexico. U.S. military says it successfully defeated attempted attacks by Iran across the Middle East.

U.S. central Command says Iran launched several ballistic missiles toward regional neighbors. However, all failed to hit their intended targets, explaining two Iranian missiles fired at Kuwait fell short or broke apart en route and three missiles launched at Bahrain were immediately intercepted. US Forces also shot down three one way attack drones launched by Iran toward civilian mariners that were rightfully transitioning regional waters. The agency goes on to say it conducted self defense strikes on an Iranian military ground control station on Kashim island, noting no U.S. personnel were harmed and forces remain vigilant and ready to defend.

the Supreme Court will allow Alabama to use a congressional map favoring Republicans in this year's elections. The decision blocks a lower court ruling that said the redistricting plan intentionally discriminates against black people. The justice is granting the state's emergency appeal to use a map it adopted three years ago that has a majority black population in just one of its seven congressional districts. The state's Republican leadership went to the Supreme Court last week, the day after a three judge court refused to let the state use its preferred map. A former congressman is facing some new trouble.

The prediction market. Kelshi has referred former New York Congressman George Santos to federal prosecutors with the Department of Justice after suspicious activity concerning his potential attendance at President Trump's State of the Union speech last February. Santos had repeatedly stated his intention to attend and Cauchy placed the odds of him doing so at 75%. Santos then bet against his own attendance, claiming shortly into the speech he experienced air travel problems. He was expelled by Congress in 2023, then pleaded guilty to fraud and identity theft charges in 2024. But his seven year prison sentence was commuted by President trump after just 84 days. Given your escape.

FOX News Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche announcing the Trump administration is officially scrapping plans to create a $1.8 billion anti weaponization fund. This after widespread political backlash and setbacks in the courts. He said, quote, we're not moving forward with the fund, period. That's what he told a congressional panel today. The investigation and the administration previously defended the fund as an appropriate measure and to make up for what officials had insisted was a weaponized Justice Department under former President Biden. And it also came under extreme controversy. And in Florida, they have put to death Andrew Luke Hark. He confessed to killing his girlfriend's baby and threw the body into a pond decades ago. I'm Sue Guzman. This is FOX News.
