D.C. mayor Browser says that crime has dropped since the spike in 2023. But President Trump posted online that he thinks that the city's crime rate is the highest in the world. A manhunt is underway in Louisville, Kentucky, for the person who shot and killed a young woman walking a child to a school bus stop Wednesday. The child was not injured. Police say the shooter was described as a young black male wearing a red hoodie and black sweatpants. And on the first day of school in Leander, Texas, northwest of Austin, a bus carrying 42 children and the driver rolled onto its side. Nine children and the driver taken to the hospital. Air Canada says it's beginning a phased wind down of most of its operations over the next three days. This is the Canadian Union of Public Employees, which represents more than 10,000 cabin crew members at the airline warns of a walkout set to begin Saturday. Nearly 100% of employees represented by the union voting for the strike, calling for pay increases and an end to a practice they say does not pay flight attendants for the work they do before the plane starts moving. In response, Air Canada issued a lockout notice. The airline says the union submitted a counteroffer seeking unsustainable wage increases at adding, we regret the impact the disruption will have on our customers, our stakeholders and the communities we serve.
