They made headway, but no deal. I'm Carmen Roberts, Fox News. President Trump and Russian President Putin wrapped up their historic summit in Alaska over trying to end the war in Ukraine, but provided very few details about what they accomplished.

He also suggested that a second meeting, one that includes Ukrainian President Zelensky, may be in the works. But Ukraine has also set out a red line that any future meetings were conditioned on a cease fire. And it's not clear if Putin agreed to that in his meeting with Trump.

President Trump says his next step is to call Ukrainian President Zelensky. A federal judge in Los Angeles denies the Trump administration's request to end the Flores settlement agreement, a decades old court order protecting immigrant children in federal custody. A grand jury indicts New Orleans Mayor Latoya Cantrell on federal charges alleging she and her former bodyguard Jeffrey Vappe carried out a years long fraud scheme at taxpayers expense.

A very rare and apparently very confused subtropical wood stork somehow found its way to the northern reaches of the US they're typically found in the Gulf coast states in Central and South America. A hunter scouting for deer first spotted the bird Sunday in a remote section of a wildlife area in Columbia county, about 25 miles northeast of Madison. The man snapped some pictures and sent them to the state Department of Natural Resources and which confirmed the bird was a wood stork. They're listed as threatened under the federal Endangered Species Act. Tom Rigotti, FOX News.

And stocks backed off from record highs as expectations for a Federal Reserve interest rate cut dim. The S&P 500 lost 19 points after closing at records three times in the week. And the Dow gained 35 points, closing just short of a record. The NASDAQ dropped 88. I'm Carmen Roberts. This is FOX News.
