This is a FOX News alert. Shut it down. I'm Carmen Roberts. A federal judge orders the government to stop sending migrants to the detention center in the Florida Everglades known as Alligator Alcatraz, and says that much of that facility should be taken down. U.S. district Judge Kathleen Williams issued the temporary injunction, sharply criticizing state and federal authorities for failing to assess the potential environmental damage before constructing the center. Governor Ron DeSantis says the state will appeal.

The ruling is a significant legal blow to the country's first state run center for federal immigration detainees. Eric Menendez is denied parole in a crushing defeat for the celebrity killer. He and his brother Lyle have served more than 30 years for the 1989 murder of their parents. Eric has said that his father sexually abused him for years and that he feared for his life if he went public. Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hockman has long opposed their parole, arguing they still haven't fully accepted responsibility for their actions. Fox says Kristen Goodwin, his brother Lyle makes his plea for freedom on Friday. A New York appeals court tosses out a half a billion dollar penalty against President Trump for his civil fraud conviction.

Police reported no victims, but ordered students to shelter in place until the all clear. An active shooter hoax also happened Thursday at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. A great earthquake strikes off the southern tip of South America, but no threat of a tsunami. The USGS first measured the quake in the Drake Passage at a magnitude 8, but has downgraded it to a 7.5. There's no land, only ships in the passage that connects the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. California will hold a special election in November to allow residents to vote on a new congressional district map. It's designed to counteract Texas lawmakers passage of a map to gain five GOP seats in the U.S. house.

The Democratic controlled California assembly passed the controversial congressional redistricting map aimed at handing their partners party five new seats in the U.S. house. State Republicans argue the new map violates the state's constitution in part because redistricting is not supposed to be done mid decade and should not favor a particular party. And Republicans say Democratic legislators have not revealed exactly who drew the new lines. California has a citizens Redistricting committee tasked with drawing the state's congressional maps independent from politicians. But California Democrats proposed an amendment to the Constitution to go around the commission.
