A big Supreme Court ruling for the Trump administration. I'm Ted Lindner, FOX News. The Supreme Court clears the way for federal agents to conduct sweeping immigration operations for now. In Los Angeles. Earlier, a lower court had halted certain actions by ice. Fox's William lajeuness, so it was.
B
A Biden appointed judge in July issued a restraining order stopping ICE from stopping individuals with just reasonable suspicion that they're in the US Illegally. It barred officials from relying on certain factors like race, while 9th Circuit upheld that ruling, prompting the administration to go to the Supreme Court arguing that the ruling restricted ICE ability to enforce the law that says you can't cross the border illegally. So Justice Brett Kavanaugh wrote in his concurring opinion that race or ethnicity alone cannot be a reason to stop someone, but it can be considered along with other factors informing reasonable suspicion to stop someone for illegal immigration checks.

Justice Sonia Sotomayor writing in the dissenting opinion that countless people have been handcuffed simply because of their looks or their accents. Louisiana Mayor Karen Bass issuing a statement following the Supreme Court ruling calling it dangerous and un American. And video surveillance has been released of a fatal stabbing of a 23 year old Ukrainian refugee that happened last month in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Fox's David Spunt with more 23 year old Irina Zaruska. She left her native Ukraine shortly after the war began in 2022 for a better life here in the United States. According to her obituary online, she learned English fluently fairly quickly. She loved animals, wanted to work at a veterinary clinic. Minutes after sitting down on this light rail in uptown Charlotte, she was stabbed to death on the train in the neck. It shows her sitting on this train with this suspect behind her. Decarlos Brown. She did not know him. According to authorities, she was minding her own business before she was brutally killed.

Jury selection is underway for the man accused of attempting to assassinate then candidate Donald Trump last September at his south Florida golf course. Ryan Ruth putting together his own list of questions for jurors.
E
On Monday, Ruth hoped to get 10 questions approved for the pool of jurors that federal Judge Eileen Cannon called his list politically charged because they mentioned students for Palestine and purchasing Greenland. Now she also said none of his questions on his list had relevance to jury selection and prosecutors called them silly. Judge Cannon made it clear he can't make any sudden movements or roam around the courtroom. He also cannot make lengthy objections. Ruth's latest court filings were unusual and bizarre. In a motion filed last week, he requested a fight with President Trump, female strippers and a round of golf with the president.

Fox's Dana Marie McNicoll in Fort Pierce and Senate Republicans are pushing forward with a proposal to change the rules to stop Democrats from blocking the process to confirm President Trump's nominees. Fox's Chad Pergrim has more on this from Capitol Hill.
